Ricky was heading to baggage claim thinking over everything, he and his mom talked and he realized he never loved Nini I mean he loved her but was never in love with her, he was to hung up on a certain curly haired dancer. (Flashback) him and his mom were packing, "so any other girls you like back home?" His mom questioned "mom I just broke up with Nini" he scoffed, she put her hands up saying "I know I just never liked you two as a couple, you both were better as friends" he sat there letting his moms words sink in, was she right he loved Nini of course he did or did he, "hey bud where did you go" his mom waved a hand in front of him, "oh my god" he said out loud "i made a huge mistake mom" she walked over to him and said "whoa I need subtitles" "I was never in love with Nini I was in love with the idea of her" "still a little lost rick" he sighed "when I was with Nini you and dad were together I had a nicer house and my life felt perfect. I thought getting back with her would bring that feeling back but all it did was hurt both of us" his mom looked at him wide eyed "ok first when did you get so smart, second so you regret getting back together with her?" He thought for a second "no because I learned a lot from it, but I would rather have not pushed Gina away, fuck" he fell onto the bed groaning, his mom sat down and put a reassuring hand on his knee "who's Gina" he laughed a bitter laugh "the best girl in the world who I ignored when she confessed her feelings for me and now she won't even look at me" his mom got a small smirk on her face "you love her" she said, he scoffed "no I don't" his voice was two octaves higher than usual, he sighed "yeah but she won't talk to me" he sat up looking at his mom with a frown, "ok Ricky here is what your gonna do, your gonna apologize start hanging out again and than tell her how you feel, don't throw it in her face when she's still hurt" he nodded at her. (End of flashback) once he got his bag he started walking towards the exit when he saw Gina, his heart started racing and he smiled and how beautiful she looked, he took a deep breath than walked over to her. "Hey Gina" she jumped at his voice and turned to look at him and his heart skipped a beat "uh what are you doing here Ricky" she said a little harshly "just came back from visiting my mom" she softened at that knowing how his relationship with his mom is "oh well that's good" he smiled it was good "very, what are you doing here? Got a late flight?" She laughed and he wanted to hear her laugh in repeat, "going to see my mom but my flight was canceled so" he nodded "I'm sure my dad would be ok with taking you home" she smiled at him "uh yeah that sounds good" they started walking to the escalator getting on it with an awkward silence, "so I uh know you said no Nini talk but I thought you would want to know that we broke up" she looked at him shocked "that sucks I'm sorry" he waved a hand as if to dismiss her "I'm fine really, we should have never got back together we are much better as friends" Gina tried not to get her hopes up at that statement. They were loading the car with their luggage in a comfortable silence this time "hey Gina can we talk in private maybe when you get back" he didn't want to apologize before he knew she was coming back afraid she would leave again "yeah I get back this day next week, pick me up?" He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding "sounds like a plan!" End of chapter 1

I know it was a little fast paced but I needed Ricky to realize his feelings before the story could really start
