Chapter 1 New job.

New Mexico 1850….somewhere in the 1850s …we don't know at this point we're guessing.

New Mexico was a barren wasteland with nothing but sand, dirt, and gravel, there was barely any life, the weather was none existent and there were only a handful of towns with small populations, this place was absolutely…perfect!

Perfect for an outlaw to hide and make a proper name for himself in the outlaw world, a perfect place to mark his territory, and by mark write his name on literally everything and anything, which is exactly what he did when he rolled into the first town he had seen in miles.

Someone's wagon, he wrote Billy waz here,

The Salon Billy was here, someone's horse Billy was here, honestly it was perfect but perfect didn't last, Billy was caught by the owner of the bar, he was caught mid write on one of the tables.

"So you're the grubby little trouble maker who's been writing on every building in the town." The bar owner said grabbing his arm, the bar owner was a fairly large man,

"Aw come on what's a little fun now and then…" Billy smiled trying to play innocent,

Billy faked a surprised expression and pointed behind the bar owner,

"Hey what's that?!"

As soon as the man was distracted Billy made a run for it out the bar he flung open the two wooden doors and booked it down the desert road.

In the distance you could hear him yell,

"See you later suckers this town sucks!"

Everyone who was outside watched the young outlaw run off into the distance only to be hit by a moving carriage the young boy went flying and everyone in the town outside collectively winced,

As for Billy he was some how still alive with barely any injuries, he was unconscious though which made things easier, the coachmen looked down and saw the boy,

He cleared is throat,

"Mam I think we found him."

The lady inside the carriage closed her book, she was dressed in a plain purple dress that went down to her ankles she had a pair of brown heeled boots and she had a purple hat, "bring him in please." She requested, the coachman jumped off and picked up Billy effortlessly and opened the carriage door and sat the dusty dirty boy down, the coachman got back on the carriage and asked,

"Is that all of them mam?"

The woman smiled and went back to her book.

"Yes that should be all of them."

5 hours later.

Billy had been unconscious for a while but a good old bump on the carriage woke him right up, he jolted awake to be met with a woman in purple he couldn't help but stare at her slacked jawed but she wasn't paying attention, she was reading a book,

"Billy the Kid correct?" She asked.

How did she know him?

"How do you-"

He was cut off, "may I call you Billy? Billy the kid is a mouthful no offense, then again everyone else on my list has very unique and long names..oh your probably wondering why I know your name, don't worry about that, in fact forget about that, how would like a job?"

Billy had to process everything she just said, she was all over the place, her words confused him along with how beautiful she was…he couldn't get anything out other than a, "wha?"

She looked continued looking at her book, "A job, we're looking for talented men who can put up a good fight and judging by how your still intact from being hit by a horse your quite tough."

Billy snapped back to reality as the carriage hit another bump, he pointed to himself, "me? You're giving me a job?"

She nodded, "a job that involves manslaughter if you're up to it."

A job that involved murder…

Wait wasn't that bounty hunting? Eh whatever he needed to know how much it paid, "how-"

She cut him off again, "you'll be paid 50 dollars an hour more if you complete the handful of missions will be assigning you, you'll also get a free roof over your head and food, there's even a small town near we're you'll be staying but we recommend you don't venture out to it often, keeping a low profile will be important."

Billy was honestly surprised by how much she could talk, she was like a library of words, he couldn't say anything but nodd,

"So you'll take it?"

Billy shook his head, "yes…I mean of course I'll take it."

"Great!" She smiled, the carriage stopped she put down her book and picked up an umbrella, "where here, fallow me." She opened the door and stepped out he fallowed, once he stepped out he was greeted by ridges of orange stone and sand and in front of him was a rickety wooden building built into one of these orange stone mounds, it had a chimney coming out on top with a roof haphazardly leaning to the side, the windows had no glass in fact you couldn't call them windows the best way to describe them were squares hallowed out, it looked like there was an attempt to add glass but it looked half finished, the entire building looked half finished.

It was perfect, the woman in purple stepped forward oddly using her umbrella as a Cain rather than a shield from the sun most ladies did, "this is where you'll be staying, the building is quite secure I assure you, now before we enter I must remind you there is no going back once you step through that door."

Billy turned on his heels, "killing people without any consequences that sounds like the perfect job, but it dose sound like bounty hunting work.."

She adjusted her gloves, "no it's Mercenary work, now."

She than walked back to the carriage-no she walked past the carriage and to a shrub a fairly large shrub, "so are you just going to watch or would like to say hello?"

The bushes shifted and out stepped a fully grown man with a raccoon skin hat, and a rifle of sorts he had a coat on as well which did not look comfortable for this kind of weather, "Just doing my job mam."

She looked pleased, "good to hear." She then looked at Billy and pointed her umbrella at him, "this is your new team member."

The man covered in twigs stepped forward and put his hand out for a handshake, Billy took it skeptically, "Davy Crockett, and you are Billy the kid correct?"

Billy cocked his head, "yeah, so I'm guessing I'm a pretty big deal-"

Davy shook his head, "no I've been watching you, you were at steal for a couple of days vandalizing property."

Billy felt a little uncomfortable about that information, how long was he being stalked for? How much did this man know-wait Davy Crockett?

"Davy Crockett? The Alamo guy?"

He chuckled, "yes I'm the Alamo guy."

Billy was up to date on his news, the Alamo was a pretty big thing in Texas for a while, and so was Davy Crockett, well he was famous for a bit before he died, apparently which wasn't the case cause he was standing right in front of Billy right now,

"How, I mean how are you-"

Davy Crockett slung his rifle on his shoulder, and chuckled again, "long story, that is not important right now."

"Indeed." The lady chimed in, "anyway I leave everything else to Mr. Crockett I have much to attend to." She then trotted off to the carriage, leaving Billy in the hands of Davy Crockett.

"So before I introduce you to the others, I have a couple of questions." Davy Crockett said, Billy crossed his arms and raised his brow listening.

"You're an outlaw and don't pretend you aren't, I've been watching you for a while remember that." Crockett said sternly and straight to the point,

"Alright and what dose that make you? That lady over there told me we were killing people." Billy countered,

"Yes, we are killing people, but we have standards, look what I'm trying to get at is that I don't fully trust you yet and neither will the team, so expect some form of prejudice." Crockett explained.

"Wait I just got here they already know-"

"Yes I told them, like I said I've been watching you." Crockett interrupted him, "now then let's get out of the heat, fallow me -oh and leave your guns outside."

Billy eyed him why would he hand over his pistols to him- Billy looked down and noticed his pistols were gone, "huh never mind she already took care of it." Crockett walked off to the building , Billy followed wondering what he had gotten himself into.
