Chapter One: Creatures Of The Night
"I love cool crisp nights like this. Just wish there was more around to eat though. I'm starving." Alexis says as she is walking in human form in the woods before stopping as she hears a noise.
"Is someone there? Hmm." Alexis says as she looks around before shrugging and continuing to walk.
"Okay quit playing games. I know you're there! Now come out!" Alexis shouts angrily as she hears noises again.
"Don't be alarmed. I won't hurt you. I simply wish to taste." A voice says revealing to be a vampire girl with purple hair as she comes out of some shadows.
"You know that vampire hypnosis spells don't work on wolf shifters right?" Alexis asks as she crosses her arms.
"Oh. You're a wolf shifter? No wonder you smelled so different." The girl says as she looks at Alexis curiously.
"That's as far as you come." Alexis says as the girl stops coming any closer.
"Don't be alarmed. I won't bite. Unless you want me to or let me." The girl says as she chuckles.
"That maybe but I do bite. Vampires are nothing but trouble." Alexis says as she glares at the girl.
"Is that so? What makes you say that?" The girl asks curiously.
"My parents told me never to trust your kind. You do nothing but drain innocent creatures and humans." Alexis says annoyedly.
"Typical thought for my mind I will give you that. But not all vampires are cruel like that. My family actually tends to stay away from doing things like that." The girl says.
"Is that why you were about to bite me?" Alexis asks annoyedly.
"I merely wished to taste your blood. I wasn't going to feed. I've never had a humans blood before. Only animals that my parents bring to me and my brothers. My father doesn't normally allow us anywhere near humans." The girl says as Alexis backs away from her only to back into a tree.
"That's supposed to make me feel better?" Alexis asks as she scoffs.
"I really mean you no harm. You have no reason to be afraid of me." The girl says kindly.
"Prove it then." Alexis says as she glares at the girl.
"Is this better?" The girl asks as she backs away a bit and floats to the ground to stand.
"Some. But kindly keep your distance." Alexis says as she tries to keep some distance between her and the girl.
"You don't like vampires that well do you?" The girl asks as she chuckles.
"My parents always said vampires can't be trusted. They're the only companions I had for a long time. Their knowledge is all that kept me alive over my time alone." Alexis sahs annoyedly.
"Wait. You're a lone wolf? Did you leave your pack?" The girl asks.
"You could say that." Alexis says as she looks down.
"May I see you? Your wolf I mean. I've never seen a wolf shifter before. I've heard about them though. Is true that you guys are larger than normal wolves?" The girl asks curiously.
"I guess I can show you. But no biting me." Alexis says nervously.
"Of course. No biting." The girl says as she smiles reassuringly.
"Well?" Alexis asks as she shifts to wolf form.
"Your fur is lovely. It reminds me so much of the full moon with it's colors." The girl says as she looks at Alexis with fascination.
"Thanks. As for your question yes you are correct. Though I'm a bit on the smaller side due to still being considered a kid and not exactly a young teen yet." Alexis says as she smiles slightly.
"I don't think you're small. You're larger than many wolves I've seen." The girl says as she smiles.
"I guess so. So if your father doesn't let you near humans I'm gonna guess he doesn't know you're out and about. And that also begs the question of why did you want to taste my blood for if you had no intention of actually making me into a meal." Alexis says.
"Well I am curious about the taste. But I would never cruelly drain anyone. I don't like to kill or turn others into vampires. I usually only take enough to sustain my hunger and then I stop. And I don't usually use my powers to turn anyone or anything either." The girl says as she begins to come closer toward Alexis.
"Um..." Alexis says in alarm as the girl stops moving closer.
"Oh. Sorry." The girl says as she backs up.
"It's alright. So you can control it?" Alexis asks curiously.
"Yes." The girl says.
"That's kinda cool I guess. For a vampire anyway." Alexis says as she smiles slightly.
"Wow. Giving me a compliment after showing teeth at me. I guess my charms work even without spells." The girl says as she smiles causing Alexis to playfully roll her eyes.
"I wouldn't say that. You're not like most vampires I've heard about but I still fear and dislike vampires regardless. But you are an okay one I'll give you that." Alexis says.
"I'll take what I can get." The girl says happily.
"You are definitely a strange one." Alexis says.
"I'm strange? Look who's talking." The girl says as she smiles and chuckles.
"I guess we're both a bit strange. So um what is your name?" Alexis asks nervously.
"Anna Sackville-Bagg." The girl says kindly.
"I'm Alexis Hathaway. Look I'm sorry if I came onto your territory. I have a fear of vampires and don't necessarily enjoy crossing paths with vampires anymore than necessary. If I'd known I was walking into vampire territory I wouldn't of come this way." Alexis says.
"Don't apologize. I enjoyed our little meeting. But again you don't have to be afraid of me. I won't hurt you. My family is a different story though so I certainly would make sure that you are watching your surroundings if you come back here. But why were you here?" Anna asks curiously.
"I'm starving. I haven't ate anything in three days. And because of the stupid human populated areas nearby I'm a bit limited where humans are hunting animals right now for sport. It's always like this around this time of year." Alexis says annoyedly as she shifts to human form.
"You poor thing. Wait right here. I might be able to help." Anna says as she begins floating.
"Why do you want me to wait? Not that I have any interest in wanting to follow you." Alexis says worriedly.
"Just wait here please. I'll be back in a bit." Anna says as she flies off.
*Timeskip*
"I see you waited just like I asked." Anna says as she comes back and finds Alexis laying next to a tree in wolf form.
"Don't remind me. What did you make me wait for anyway?" Alexis asks as she stands up.
"For this." Anna says as she holds out a dead rabbit.
"A rabbit? Wait. It's not drained is it?" Alexis asks as she sniffs toward the rabbit while keeping a distance from Anna.
"Don't worry. It's a fresh kill. Wolves aren't the only capable hunters around here." Anna says as she smiles.
"Why are you giving me this?" Alexis asks as she looks at Anna curiously.
"Because I wanted to help. I know you're afraid but I want to show you that you can trust me at least. Take it please." Anna says as Alexis cautiously takes the rabbit in her mouth.
"Thanks. I guess." Alexis says.
"See? I'm not so bad now am I?" Anna asks as she smiles kindly.
"Don't push your luck. You're still a vampire and I just met you. Only time will tell if I want to trust you or not." Alexis says.
"Fair enough. Anyway I should get back home. I'll see you around I guess." Anna says as she flies off.
"You too I guess." Alexis says before running off with the rabbit.
