Chapter 7 Secret Ingredient

Chief Saltbaker served Cuphead, Mugman, and Miss Chalice some nice cookies for thanks for beating Waldo and his goons and the trio filled him in on their mission for Death and what they would get in return. The chief was impressed by this and wished the heroes good luck on their quest. As they talked and ate they looked out the window at the Waldo restaurants as they all slowly began to fade away. They all took notice of some freaked out rundown toons running into the restaurants and running out of them with their arms full of burgers. Some of the toons were even fighting each other for the burgers, which just confused the heroes and Chief Saltbaker.
Cuphead and Mugman got curious and headed outside towards some toons fighting over the burgers and fired a few magic bullets at them making them scream and run away dropping a few burgers in the process. The brothers picked up the burgers and headed back into the bakery for Chief Saltbaker to examine the burgers and see if he could figure out why so many toons wanted them.
Chief Saltbaker carefully took the burgers apart and examined each part of it. The buns, vegetables, and cheese appeared to be cheap, but normal, which only left the burger patty as the cause. Chief Saltbaker sniffed the patty and scowled at a strange scent from it, before cutting the patty up. He put some of the bits into a pan with some special oils and a sickly skull shaped cloud rose from the patty.
"There appears to be a dangerous and addictive substance in the patty. I suspect drugs." Said Chief Saltbaker.
"Drugs?" Asked Cuphead.
"This could be the work of the Sorrow of Addiction, Maxxx." Said Mugman checking one of the files.
"Figures that a few Sorrows would be working together, but where is Maxxx?" Said Ms. Chalice.
At that moment a toon weasel wearing a Waldo uniform burst through the door and tried to get the bits of the burger patty, but was quickly subdued by Chief Saltbaker and the others. The toon was tied to the chair and the heroes took notice that the weasel was an addict. The heroes decided to question the weasel about the drugs.
"Where do the drugs come from? Tell us and you can have the patty." Said Cuphead.
"They come from some old casino." Said the weasel.
Cuphead and Mugman exchanged looks. They could only think of one casino. The Devil's Casino!
The weasel was freed to eat the patty and the heroes headed out to the Devil's Casino.
