Meet and Greet

Approaching the building where Naruto supposedly lived, Kagome frowned as she observed that it was rather dilapidated looking. He lives here?

Shaking her head, she didn't bother taking the short route to the top and instead climbed the stairs, wondering to herself what exactly she was going to say to him.

Once at his door, she straightened her shoulders, plastered what she hoped was disarming smile on her face, then knocked.

And waited.

And knocked again.

Sighing, she pressed an ear to the door, focusing her chakra to sense for a presence inside. Hearing some scuffling, her eyebrows furrowed. Knocking again, she called, "Naruto, are you in there? Hello?"

Finally, the door was yanked open and Kagome stepped backwards to avoid falling into the entryway.

Blue eyes set in a young, untrustful face stared up at her. "Who are you?" Naruto questioned dubiously.

Kagome forced her smile to be brighter. "My name is Kagome Higurashi. The Hokage sent me. It's nice to meet you."

"Why would the Hokage send some strange lady here?" His eyes continued to rove over her with suspicion.

"Can I maybe come inside?" Kagome suggested instead. "I can explain it to you."

Naruto glanced over back into his room and his shoulders slumped.

Inwardly sighing, Kagome re-considered. "Are you hungry? We could go get something to eat?" she tried instead.

He perked up slightly. "Do you like ramen?"
