Chapter 49

***Thursday Evening***

(It is currently suppertime at Elizabeth's house)

Jason: "Just to let you boys know, Sam called me yesterday. She offered to do a playdate for Danny and you guys at Monica's for Friday at suppertime and overnight."

Liz: (shocked) "I'm surprised that it was Sam who made the call this time as it's usually you, babe, who does it."

Cameron: "No offense, mom, but it's always been dad who makes the call. It's never Sam. I can't help but wonder if Sam is up to something because she suggested it."

Jason: (shakes his head) "Trust me, son, I wouldn't put anything past Sam."

Liz: "All I care about is that Danny can spend time with all of us."

Jake: (nods) "I agree because I consider Danny my brother and I miss him. Does Grandma Monica know about the playdate?"

Jason: "Yes. I spoke to Monica earlier today and she's all for it. In fact, she feels it should have happened a long time ago."

Liz: "What matters is it is happening tomorrow."

Jason: "Aiden, how do you feel about it?"

Aiden: "I want to see my brother again and Grandma Monica."

Cameron: (to Jason) "Will you and mom be spending the night, too?"

(Jason and Elizabeth share a glance before nodding)

Jason: "We were planning on it, yes. So, we can spend time with Danny as well as all you guys."

Liz: (smiles) "Monica will enjoy the visit, too."

Cameron: (smirks) "Wasn't it last time we were all over at Grandma Monica's that you and dad finally admitted your feelings for each other?"

(Elizabeth looks at her oldest and curiously speaks)

Liz: "How did you know about that since you were sleeping when it happened?"

Cameron: (chuckles) "I hear things from people. It's not that big of a secret, anyway."

Liz: (shakes her head) "No, it's not. I was just curious how you knew."

Cameron: (smiles) "One of life's many mysteries, mom."

(Jason and Elizabeth share a laugh in response)

Liz: "I think it's safe to say we could all use a night of fun at Monica's."

Jason: (nods) "Agreed."

(Cameron. Jake, and Aiden all cheer in response)

(It is officially Friday and everyone was happy. That meant getting ready to go to Monica's. Elizabeth worked later that day for a few more hours. Cameron had school at Port Charles University for another hour or two. Jake and Aiden were playing a board game in Jake's room. Elizabeth is making a fresh batch of brownies to take to Monica's. It was in the oven)

(Elizabeth was surprised by a knock at the front door. She answers the door to see its Carly. Elizabeth is caught off-guard)

Carly: (chuckles) "You must be stunned to see me."

(Elizabeth nods)

Carly: "I thought we could have a talk."

Liz: (confused) "Okay. About what?"

Carly: "I know that we don't have the easiest past…especially where Jason is concerned."

(Elizabeth folds her arms over her chest and speaks)

Liz: "That's an understatement."

Carly: "But, I wanted to clear the air as I did that with Jason and Sonny before."

Liz: (nods) "Okay."

(Elizabeth is startled when Carly pulls her in for a hug! Holy shit! Elizabeth's arms were hanging as she didn't know what the hell to expect)

Carly: "I am so glad you and Jason found each other again after all these years. You never should have been apart in the first place."

(Carly pulls away to see an astonished Elizabeth)

Carly: (laughs) "I bet you weren't expecting that."

Liz: (chuckles) "No, but if you're serious on being happy for me and Jason, I appreciate it."

(Carly briefly looks down and shakes her head in shame before facing Elizabeth)

Carly: "I'm sorry for taking so long to accept you and Jason. I can finally see that you make Jason happy. That is all I have ever wanted for Jason: for someone to make him happy."

(Elizabeth speaks in a passionate yet serious tone)

Liz: "I love Jason with all of my heart and always will. I truly thought outside forces were keeping us apart over the years. Or that we each thought we fell in love with others, but weren't really."

Carly: "What matters is you two found your way back to each other."

(Carly momentarily turns away and wipes away a few tears that escaped her eyes)

Carly: "I'm especially sorry for my role in trying to keep you two apart."

(Elizabeth raises her eyebrows as she speaks matter of factly)

Liz: "You mean when you were a bitch to me and basically said I wasn't good enough for Jason?"

(Carly puts her head down in shame and whispers)

Carly: "Yeah, that."

Liz: "If I knew that you were being sincere and not just saying this to get a free pass, I would forgive you in a heartbeat."

(Carly laughs and sniffles as she speaks)

Carly: "I basically told Sam that she's not good enough for Jason. That he found his true love…YOU. I also told Jason and Sonny I hope Jason proposes to you because I know he loved you."

Liz: (chuckles) "Oh, he wants to propose. Believe me. He's waiting for the divorce with Franco to be official and to have the boys' blessing. He doesn't want to rush things on the boys' account or mine. I thought it was very nice and considerate of him."

Carly: (smiles) "That's Jason. I, for one, can't wait. You two deserve each other."

(Carly tilts her head and speaks in a genuine tone)

Carly: "Elizabeth, please know I mean that. He also said he got you a special gift in the meantime."

(Elizabeth shows Carly the necklace)

Carly: "Oh, my God! I love it! Jason told Sonny and I about it. But, seeing it for myself, it's so beautiful."

Liz: (nods & smiles) "It is and he did good indeed."

(Before Carly walks out of the house, she faces Elizabeth)

Carly: (smiles) "Thank you for making Jason so happy."

Liz: (grins) "We make each other happy."

(Carly exits the house)

***Friday Afternoon***

(Elizabeth was working for a few hours before being done for the day. She runs into her best friend, Terry Randolph, in the women's locker room)

Liz: "You DO know that as soon as I'm officially divorced from Franco, you and me are going on a double-date with our gentlemen."

Terry: (amused face) "Why not now?"

(As Elizabeth groans and rolls her eyes, she speaks)

Liz: "It's so Franco or anyone else can't accuse me of legally cheating on Franco being we're still married." (smirks) "However, once we're divorced, we're all going out."

Terry: (laughs) "Okay."

(Terry can't help but admire Elizabeth's necklace)

Liz: "That's from Jason. He wanted to give me an engagement ring, but I'm not divorced yet. Trust me, though, Randolph. I'm counting the days. I almost forgot to take it off before going out on the floor."

Terry: (confused) "Why take it off?"

Liz: "Because if anyone sees it, it might get back to Franco or someone he knows that I'm wearing something Jason bought me. Then I may not get the divorce or the divorce will be complicated. That's the last thing we need."

Terry: (nods) "Very true. I see your point. Where are you going to put it?"

Liz: "I brought the Tiffany box it came in. I'll put it in my coat pocket in my locker." (smiles) "I'm going to still wear it in private or when no one can see it."

Terry: (grins) "Good girl." (smirks) "It must be one pricey divorce if it can be done in two weeks."

Liz: (laughs) "Diane does extremely well and money does wonders."

(The ladies share a hug before getting back to work. Later on, just as Elizabeth clocks out for the day, she runs into Monica)

Monica: (grins) "I'm really looking forward to the playdate. I'm surprised, though, that it was Sam's idea. I'm happy to see Danny, anyway."

(Elizabeth privately shows Monica the necklace that Jason got for her. Elizabeth explains she wants to wait until she's officially divorced from Franco before she wears the necklace in public. Elizabeth thought it was an engagement ring at first. Elizabeth wants to wait until she's officially divorced from Franco and Jason respected that)

Monica: "Oh, I can't wait until you, Jason, and the boys are officially a family…the way it should have always been."

Liz: "Jason and I have had other people in our lives, but we're always there for each other."

(Monica puts her hands together like she's praying and smiles)

Monica: "I'm so happy you and Jason found each other again. I personally can't wait until the divorce is official because then everyone can move on."

Liz: "A few things need to happen before everyone can move on first."

(Monica looks confused)

Liz: "Everything will all be explained and revealed soon."

(Elizabeth offers a smile before walking away from a still confused Monica)

(Jason and the boys are packed and ready to go to Monica's. They all couldn't wait to see Danny, who would be dropped off by Sam at Monica's right before suppertime. Monica was having Cook prepare cheeseburgers, French fries, and fresh fruit. Elizabeth was bringing brownies for dessert. Everyone always enjoyed her brownies as they had some last time they were all at Monica's)

(Elizabeth asked the boys if they have anything left to pack before they all leave. All three were good)

(After arriving at Monica's just before supper, they see Sam's blue four door sedan pull up. Right when she parks, Danny gets out with his overnight bag in hand, and runs to his brothers. Sam rolls her eyes in annoyance that Danny has such a close bond with them. When she sees Danny and Elizabeth share a warm hug, Sam foams at the mouth! Jason walks to Sam's vehicle)

Jason: "Thank you for bringing Danny."

Sam: (shrugs) "I said I would."

(Sam can't help but privately wish that Jason showed an interest in what she was doing this evening. He didn't have a care in the world, though)

Jason: "Am I dropping off Danny at your place tomorrow afternoon or are you picking Danny up here at Monica's?"

Sam: "I'll pick Danny up at Monica's."

Jason: (nods) "Okay."

(Jason walks back to his family. Sam shakes her head as she can't help but be jealous that it should be HER, Jason, and Danny at Monica's as a family. She briefly looks away before facing the road and drives away. She couldn't wait to get to Cyrus's place and forget about her day)

(Monica goes up to Elizabeth and share that she has been waiting for this night for a while)

Liz: "Oh, me, too."

Monica: "Regarding our talk earlier today…I wanted to ask you…what are you and Jason hoping for?"

Liz: (tilts her head) "I'd love to marry Jason and be a family with the boys and Danny. I want to make sure the boys are okay with it, though. There's no need to rush things, though, as we have all the time in the world."

Monica: "That's perfectly understandable. For what it's worth, I've always wanted you as a daughter-in-law."

Liz: (chuckles) "I've always wanted to be a part of your family, too."

(Monica and Elizabeth embrace before going inside. Everyone enjoys supper. They play all sorts of family games. Jason privately takes Elizabeth to the side so she can talk to her)

Jason: "If I was with Sam right now, I wouldn't want to play these games. They'd mean nothing to me. But, with you, baby? I'm more relaxed and feel like I can do anything."

(Elizabeth gently touches Jason's chin and smiles lovingly)

Liz: "It goes both ways with you and Franco. Honey. I'm so much more relaxed with you than I was with him. Thank you."

(Jake's voice causes Elizabeth and Jason to focus on their son)

Jake: "Mom, dad, what did you two do years ago together? Meaning, what did you have in common together?"

(Jason and Elizabeth look at each other. Jason rests his hands in his jeans pocket. Elizabeth shrugs in response)

Liz: "I wish we had more in common. However, in my opinion, I think we have enough."

Jason: (shakes his head) "We don't need to have a bunch in common to love each other. I enjoy pool. Your mom will say she's not very good at it."

(Elizabeth gently taps Jason on the shoulder and gives him a funny look)

Liz: "You know I'm not good at it at all. I do practice, though. Not as often as I'd like."

Jason: "When your mom and I were last together, I took her for motorcycle rides."

Liz: (chuckles) "I loved it when you did that. They were always so much fun."

Jason: "I do enjoy art because of your mom."

Liz: (laughs) "I'm a sucker for a good romantic movie. Your dad will actually watch it with me."

(Jason chuckles and shakes his head as he spoke)

Jason: (to Liz) "You know I'd watch any movie with you."

Jake: (smiles happily) "I'm glad you two have a lot in common."

(Jason takes his girl in his arms from behind. He rests his chin on her shoulder)

Jason: "I want to make something clear to you, baby. Even if we didn't have much in common, I'd still love and cherish you always."

(Elizabeth smiles and turns around so her and Jason are face to face in each other's arms)

Liz: "Same here, baby."

(They hug and she says she's going to check on Danny. Jason thanks her for caring about Danny. Elizabeth says no thanks necessary. Elizabeth finds Danny in the corner of the living room. She sits on the chair by him)

Liz: (somewhat concerned) "You okay, sweetie?"

Danny: "Yeah, I just wanted a moment alone."

(Elizabeth lowers her head slightly)

Liz: "Do you want me to leave you alone?"

Danny: (shakes his head) "No. I was having fun earlier with my brothers, you, and dad. I just…"

Liz: (tender tone) "I hope you know, Danny, you can tell me anything you want. I'm here for you."

Danny: (sighs deeply) "I don't know if I should say this, but I love you like a mom."

(Elizabeth smiles and hugs Danny)

Liz: "You are more than okay to say that. I want you to know that I love you like a son."

(She tilts her head and faces him sympathetically)

Liz: "How do you feel about Sam?"

(Danny fidgets nervously as he ponders his thoughts. Elizabeth notices this and comforts him by massaging his shoulder)

Liz: (shakes her head) "You don't have to be nervous, Danny. Just speak from your heart."

Danny: (nods) "I know I should love Sam because she's my mom. I honestly don't think I do love her anymore because she never spends time with me. She's always bringing me to Grandma Alexis' house."

(Elizabeth nods in response)

Liz: "I want to make something clear, Danny. No one but YOU can decide how you feel about your mom. Meaning, no one can make you feel something towards Sam that you don't want to feel."

Danny: "I mean, I do love mom on some level because she's my mom. I wish…I wish you were my mom because even though you work a lot, you still have a lot of time for Cameron, Jake, and Aiden." (shrugs) "I wish I had that with my mom."

Liz: (sighs sympathetically) "Danny, honey, your mom does love you in her own way, even if she doesn't always show it."

Danny: (smiles politely) "Thank you, mommy Elizabeth. For the advice."

(He then looks embarrassed that he slipped up)

Danny: "I'm sorry I accidentally called you that."

Liz: (nods) "It's okay."

(Elizabeth embraces him and they join the group. Jason takes his girl to the side and thanks her for treating Danny like her own. Elizabeth smiles and says no thanks necessary as she loves Danny like her own son)

Jason: (growls lowly) "I so wish I could kiss you on the lips right now. I've been dying to do that for so damn long. I know it's a bad idea until the divorce is final."

Liz: "I wish I could kiss you, too. Just think, when we're able to, we can kiss all we want."

Jason: (narrows his eyes) "Make sure you're ready."

(Elizabeth laughs hard at that. Jason pulls her into a hug, telling her he loves her. Elizabeth tells him she loves him, too)

(He then looks around quickly, catching her off-guard by pulling her into a quiet room. Before she has a chance to ask him what he's doing, he shuts the door behind him and kisses her passionately. She can't resist and immediately responds by kissing him right back. Despite their lack of oxygen, they didn't give a shit. They NEEDED this time together. Their tongues collided with each other and they moaned as they continued the kiss. After getting a bit dizzy from the insane lack of oxygen, they finally break apart from each other and their foreheads touch. They breathe deeply and share one more kiss before smiling and collecting themselves as they joined the others for more fun)

(Meanwhile, Sam goes to her co-conspirator, Cyrus's apartment. He opens the door and allows her in)

Cyrus: (smiles) "I'm pleased to see you. I'll admit I thought you either forgot about our deal or decided not to go through with it."

(Sam offers a smile as she spoke)

Sam: "You're helping me with the kidnapping of Lizzie, so yes, I'm keeping up with my end of the deal."

Cyrus: "I figured you didn't have supper yet, so I made chicken Alfredo."

Sam: (smiles appreciatively) "Thank you."

(They gather at the table for supper. She compliments him that the food is good. After supper, he puts on some music and offers his hand)

Cyrus: "May I have this dance?"

Sam: (smiles a bit) "Yes."

(While they dance, Sam admits that this feels nice)

Cyrus: "I want you to enjoy yourself, even though, yes, this is a business arrangement."

Sam: "I am."

(After some slow dancing, he leans forward and down a bit and kisses her, which she reciprocates. The kiss turns passionate as their hands are all over each other. They break free)

Cyrus: "I bought condoms so I can't get you pregnant."

Sam: "I don't think I can get pregnant as I had a tough time getting pregnant with Danny. I bought condoms, too, as you never know."

Cyrus: "Are you sure, Sam?"

Sam: "Yes."

(Cyrus offers his hand, which she takes and they walk to the bedroom)
