Intervention And Rescue

Before Risa and Evie could step in, Reggie had knocked the hot chocolate out of Lucky's hand the mug shattered as it hit the floor and the hot brown liquid spilled out everywhere.

"He what's the big idea?" Lucky snapped.

"Like you don't know," Reggie IV growled. "that little investigation that nosy father of yours did, caused our steakhouse to be closed down for a month!"

Risa and Evie were familiar with the case.

Jason and told them all about it at a family get together a few weeks ago.

A waitress at Chez Pierre had been badly injured when the staircase that let up to the restaurants VIP balcony had collapsed, the girl's family had hired Jason to look into it, when he had given them his report on the shoddy construction and corner cutting that he had discovered, the girl's family had immediately turned it over to the building commission.

The Van Forsythes had to shut the restaurant down until it was brought up to code and Reggie IV's dad had to pay a hefty fine, not to mention the girls medical expenses.

"Lucky," Reggie said warningly. "I'd drop out of the dressage invitational this weekend if I were you, you never know what accidents could happen to your horse, and, maybe Nikki will be gone for good!"

Fury flashed in Lucky's eyes, Risa and Evie knew they had to intervene before Lucky lost her temper and used her telekinesis in front of everybody.

Risa grabbed Reggie IV by the shoulder and spun him around, then she and Evie flattened him against the wall.

"Reggie," Risa growled. "threatening Lucky was a big mistake!"

"If anything happens to Lucky, her horse, or Nikki, or, if we even so much as smell any of your errand boys hanging around Pine Hollow, we're coming after you!" Evie added.

"Oh I'm real scared, I just got threatened by a trick rider and a ballerina. what're you gonna do, Dancer Girl, beat me with your tutu?" Reggie taunted Evie.

Evie just smirked, she turned and grabbing a steak knife off the counter she turned and threw it straight into the bullseye of a dart target all the way on the other side of the dining hall, the patrons who had all stopped to watch the altercation applauded Evie.

She turned back to Reggie IV, "Get the message?" she snapped.

Reggie, his bravado gone, and his face pale, gulped and nodded, he turned and slunk out of the restaurant without another word.

"I doubt we've seen the last of him." Risa said.

"Yeah but we can handle him." Evie replied.

"Speaking of which, where did you learn to do that with a knife?" Risa asked.

"Ty and Cat have been giving me lessons." Evie revealed.

Risa and Evie turned their attention to Lucky, who was now as white as the ghost of Jacob Marley.

"Anything wrong, Lucky?" Risa asked.

"I hope Nikki will be found, and be found alive I would like to add!" Lucky said to the Atwood twins, she was clearly worried.

"Don't worry, your father, our father, and our mother will find her, alive and well, I'm sure of it." Evie said to Lucky.

"I hope you're right." Lucky said to Evie.

"I am right." Evie said to Lucky.

"Now, come on," Risa said. "let's clean up Reggie's mess, the good lord knows he won't take responsibility for his actions."

"Okay." Lucky said.

Evie, Lucky, and Risa all grabbed buckets, brooms, and mops and began to clean up the mess on the floor that Reggie IV had made.
