Bella

I walk into the living room and sit down in the chair beside the couch and wait for Charlie to mute the TV.

"So, what's up, Bells? You were making me nervous earlier."

Taking a deep breath, I begin, "Well, for starters, you know I have been spending a lot of time out at the reservation with Jacob."

"Yeah."

"Well, we've been getting closer, and we kind of... started seeing each other."

"Really? Well, that's great Bells! If that's what you had to tell me, I don't know why you were so nervous about it."

*Oh, believe me, that is not all of it... Okay, Bella, here it goes.*

"Unfortunately, that's not everything. But I need you to listen with an open mind, ok?" He nods slowly, waiting for me to continue, "Ok, well, as you know I turned eighteen back in September, and I graduate in June... I've been saving up, and I would like to get an apartment or house after graduation instead of living on campus. I got accepted to Peninsula College, and I was thinking of going there so I would be close by and able to visit whenever I wanted. Plus, the added benefit that I would be close to Jacob, is just an added benefit." I speak so fast to get it all out, that when I stop, I realize I am out of breath.

"Well..." Charlie takes a breath and shifts on the couch, "why move out? Why not just live here through college? Save on rent?"

"I thought about that, but I really think I want to try living on my own for a while. I want to move out right after graduation, so that I have time to get settled and used to living alone before school starts in the fall. Of course, I will still meet up with you occasionally for dinner at the diner and sometimes here as well."

"You sound pretty determined about this. Have you looked at anything yet?"

"Not, yet. I just wanted you to know before it happened."

"Ok, are you wanting to move to Port Angeles so you are closer to school?"

"Actually, I will be attending the location here in Forks. So, no matter where I move, I will be nearby."

Charlie suddenly gets a suspicious look on his face, "this isn't because of Jacob is it? So that you guys can... have more alone time?"

"No! Of course not! He would probably be there quite often, but this isn't for him, or about him. It's about me. I am going through some... personal things right now, and I just want to have my own space to deal as needed."

"Personal things..." I could tell that Charlie didn't understand, but I could also tell he wasn't going to push the issue... "Well, if that's what you want to do, you're 18. Not really anything I can do to stop you. I just hope you're ready for this." He stands up, and turns toward the stairs only to stop short and turn back around, "Bells, it's going to be weird not having you live u see my roof anymore."

"It'll be weird for me too, but we knew this day was coming. It's just coming a couple months before we expected."

Charlie nods and heads up to his room. I pull out my phone and text Jake.

-Me: Hey, Charlie just went to his room.

-Jake: Give it half an hour then I want you to meet me outside.

-Me: Ok, see you in 30.

-Jake: See you

At that moment, knowing I'm going to see him in 30 minutes, a feeling of joy and excitement rolls through my body. I feel the bond almost vibrate in anticipation of seeing my new imprint.

*Wow... imprint...* I still can't believe it.
