*Author's Note*
Thank you guys so much for your comments, visits, and support! I apologize for the long hiatus. I got married, got pregnant- unfortunately lost the baby, and am healing from that devastating loss. I only recently have really been into writing again. I have recently been really into this story again and hoping to continue and see where this goes for Jacob and Bella! Please let me know what you guys think in the comments:)
This is going to be a short, 'filler' chapter to move the story along... Hope it's not too jarring. Thank you!
Jacob
It has been a month since Bella moved onto the reservation. In that time, she has graduated from High School, got a new job at the reservation school, and she has been throwing herself into becoming a good pack member. She insisted that she start running patrols but since I am the only one she can hear while she is shifted, she has been running with me. It's been really fun spending some extra time with her. We talk for hours and then when patrol is over, we head over to either her house or mine, cook dinner and talk some more. It's been pretty quiet on the bloodsucker front. Since she moved onto the rez, we haven't noticed any new sickly sweet scents hanging around. Every once and a while, we would catch the scent of one vampire... but the last time someone caught that scent was right before she moved here. Since then it's been quiet... eerily quiet.
The other day, Charlie came by Bella's on his way home from a fishing trip with my dad. He wanted to tell us that he and Sue had kicked things up a notch and that they had made it official. And since the realization that Charlie and Bella have Quileute blood, nobody really had anything to say about it. Before, there was all kinds of issues because it was assumed that Sue was talking to an outsider, but if he and Sue get married, the whole tribe would be behind them and would sanction Charlie moving onto the rez.
This morning, Bella and I had an early patrol before she had to head to the school for some staff and faculty training. Everything was perfect. We started patrolling early, and were back in time to clean up and head over to Emily's for breakfast. Honestly, Bella seems to be adjusting to pack life easily enough. There is still the question of how to pass the alpha mantle from Sam to me, but other than that things are pretty good. Now that the Cullens have been gone for quite some time, things are starting to even out. I heard the other day that their house got sold. Some older couple bought the property as their retirement home. There are all kinds of renovations going on, so some of the guys from the rez have been hired as day laborers. To be honest, I am glad they are gone. And with Bella here now, having moved on and telling Alice that she was done with them... hopefully they have the good sense to stay away.
