Bella

Today was a particularly long day at the school getting things ready for the new year, and gearing up to start Peninsula College... so I called Charlie and asked if I could just come over there and we could go get dinner at the diner or something. Of course, he agreed. So, as soon as I was free of my last meeting for the day, I packed up my bag and my (now rather useless) jacket and headed to my truck.

Jacob had to take Billy to Portland for a doctor's visit, and they were going to look for a wedding present for Charlie and Sue, so it was just going to be me and Charlie. But to be honest, I was kinda looking forward to the quietness that settled in when it was just me and Charlie. It was nice. Comfortable. Definitely the exact opposite from life with the pack. Don't get me wrong, the pack is great. But it is always so crazy, loud, busy and rambunctious. It is nice to occasionally be quiet and just sit for a while. So getting the chance to spend some time, just us... kinda perfect.

When I pulled in the drive, I could see Charlie's cruiser in the drive, but something just felt different. Then as soon as I stepped out of the truck I almost gagged at the antifreeze sweet smell hanging in the air. Suddenly, I found myself running into the house, no longer stopping to think of knocking anymore.

I burst through the door with a, "Charlie!?"

"Whoa Bells, calm down. No need to set the world on fire. We have a visitor."

Just as he says the word visitor, a petite, brunette with a pixie cut steps around the corner, "Hello Bella. Good to see you again."

I have to fight back a snarl, "Alice."

Super short chapter, but it just felt like a good breaking point before the next chapter... Be prepared... LOTS of drama!
