Bella

"Alice. What in the HELL do you think you are doing here after all this time!?"

"I can explain, but first, please go take a long hot shower. The wet dog smell is making me gag- well it would if I could throw up." Panic-y I throw a shut up look at her.

This is when I decide to tell her the truth.

"Alice, I could take 1,000 showers, with the temperature knob at 100%. I could scrub the skin off my body and that smell wouldn't ever go away... I am a wolf now."

"Look, I know you are dating Jacob, and I am sure that somewhere in your head you think it's romantic that you smell like him, but to be honest, it just stinks. Now please, drop the act and go shower."

"No act here Alice." Then as if he wanted to remind us that he was still there, he cleared his throat. "Isn't that right dad?"

"Uh-uh, don't go bringing me into this." Quietly, Charlie grabs the matches and coals for the grill and his beer, then turns and heads out the back door. *I guess it's steak night."

"What is going on Bella?"

"I guess since you're going to find out sooner or later, I might as well just show you. Take a walk with me, won't you?"

We follow Charlie out the back door and head for the woods just as Charlie yells out, "don't take too long. Dinner will be ready soon."

"You got it. I've just got to talk to Alice."

After Edward left, I looked for that place in the woods, but when Jacob took me there for new memories, it stuck. Now, the woods around my father's house was almost as familiar as the back of my hand. This is where I took Alice.

"Your brother brought me here ten months ago. This is where he broke my heart. But then, five months ago, a boy came into my life and helped me put the pieces back together. In fact, I was standing right here when I told you I had moved on. That day, I became a part of something much bigger than myself. See, Jacob and I are imprints."

"No. That's not possible. The bond happens when the two first meet after shifting for the first time. You were with Edward at the time."

"That is the case in most situations... but for the next True Alpha... it's a little bit different. See, once the true alpha finds his mate, the bond does not begin until she wishes to help take on his burden. Then, once she officially accepts the bond, it is solidified, and they become the mated, Alpha pair. Now, Jake hasn't taken over as Alpha yet, but when he does, I will stand next to him as the Alpha female."

"Bella, don't be silly. You can't be an alpha. You're just human."

"Ok, first, not going to say anything abou the 'JUST human' jab, but I will continue. I WILL BE the Alpha female, because the ancestor decided to look upon me with mercy. They bestow the gift of the wolf spirit upon the true alpha's mate so that the sacrifice of the third wife never has to happen again. So... take a look at this..."

Quickly, I shed my clothes and then before I know it, I am standing there in front of her on all four paws. I look up at here to see a look of absolute horror and disgust cross her face.

"Oh, Bella. What have you done?" Then, she turns around and runs away.
