Bella
"Yeah, and then she just turned around and left. I shifted back and went back into the house. I don't know why she is here though. She didn't say anything of real purpose. She just commented on my smell and then left."
"Hmm, well, if she is back, who is to say she is alone? I mean the Cullens rarely travel alone." Sam offers up quickly.
"Do you think he would come back?" Emily asks as she takes some monster cookies out of the oven.
"I don't know really... I mean, he said he would never come back. And if he had, chances are, he would have been the one to show up at Charlie's door, not Alice." I rebut.
Jake looks at the floor, "I think you should call her. At least find out who all is here, and try to figure out why they came back. Especially since they seemed to be pretty final in their departure. Even selling the house. That is the first time that has happened. They have been there, had that house as long as I can remember."
"Me either for that matter," Sam states matter of factly.
"But I don't want to call her. I don't want to talk to them. All they have ever brought into my life is death, pain and devastation."
"Well, they did kinda bring us together. I mean if it wasn't for them coming in and telling you about Vampires, you never would have found out about us... and you never would have accepted the responsibilities that come with being part of the pack... and we never would have imprinted. So, while I half wish they never came into your life because of all the pain, I am also grateful, because now, I get to have you."
"Awe, Jake, that was both romantic... and a bit sad at the same time." The look on Jacob's face could only be described as mixed feelings, "No, but seriously Jake. I agree. If the Cullens hadn't come into my life, I never would have gotten the best thing that has ever happened to me. Thank you for being there for me through all of this." I lean over and give him- what was supposed to be a quick peck, but turned into a little bit of a more intense lip lock.
"Okay, okay. Look, I really would like to keep my cookies where they belong... in my stomach. So if you plan on doing more of that, please do it elsewhere." Sam said with mock disgust.
