There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.
Chapter 57: The Last Warrior from Another Planet
"A galaxy full of twinkling stars. Yet how joyless this universe is…Imagine creating a game with no one to play it with. So let's create a model based on the millions of galaxies abound. One filled with people who will move, fight, and play of their own wills. Yes, and I shall name it…"
…
Who did these familiar faces correspond to in the future?
Whose face was it that guy saw shadows of in his?
The*Providence chased these thoughts in circles.
"ERROR, boo!"
"I can read the prompt on my screen myself, The*Yuki-Onnanoko. S'btian, what are the latest figures?"
"Figures? Did somebody say figures?" The*Mokeida Mbembe cut in.
"6,666,666 failed simulations as of this second, The*Providence-sama. I have been unsuccessful in getting your Duel Disk to recognize this Monster Card as a legal card."
"I'm curious: What is different about the Maximum Cards that guy left me compared to those of MIK?"
"My analysis indicates Yggdrago the Sky Emperor Dragon Tree is incompatible with current Rush Duel architecture."
"How can that be? If it was in that guy's Deck, he must have played it at some point."
"Yes, The*Providence-sama. But if we treat his story as factual, then it was in the future this Maximum was played. The coding of Rush Duels in the future may very well differ from Rush Duels as recreated by him in our present time."
"Then that guy must have left Yggdrago out of the new code intentionally. Why?"
"I can only speculate, but perhaps he was aware in advance the Earth organization would take such heavy-handed action, and sabotaged his own game to prevent MIK's acquisition of Maximums as their secret weapon. Regardless of his reason, while there is currently a filled slot in the system for Maximums, it does not register Yggdrago the Sky Emperor Dragon Tree, unlike MIK's Maximums. Yggdrago's omission would appear to suggest it may have been the root directory or root node in the original tree structure. That is, this Maximum Monster may be the root of all Maximum Monsters that came after."
"The root, you say?"
"It is possible MIK is using a substitute for the parent file. A shortcut or workaround permitting MIK's Maximums to function when there is no root directory to pull from in Goha Company's database."
"Restart simulations. In the meantime, what of the other anomalous card in your memory bank?"
"All projections on the card in my memory bank known as Resurrection of the Dead have likewise been inconclusive."
"In the absence of that guy to confirm or disprove my worst fear, I – like you – can only speculate. I must uncover the truth, S'btian."
"With the information we presently have, we cannot rule out that Resurrection of the Dead may be tied in some way to the Velgearians' alleged immortality. A card with the power to make a monster reborn and erase memories…Your theory that this card is connected is not unsound, The*Providence-sama."
"How could a card be so powerful as to erase memories?"
In his mind, it was an inane question. The*Luge's boring manga threatened the whole universe, and it was a small, insignificant item.
"My memory files are incomplete. I have limited data. Do you have another theory?"
"His Majesty confided in me he sensed from that guy that someone else was behind MIK's movements."
"The Supreme Commander of Velgear's Assault Force warned about a 'Creator.' The throughline between the Creator and MIK being the Relic, logic dictates it is he who is weighing on your conscience."
"An astute observation."
"I am not programmed with emotions, but may I ask why this troubles you?"
"Solitude."
"The*Providence-sama?"
"I know what it is to lose everything. Everyone you know. When the Great King of Terror came to my planet and froze everyone but me."
His digital assistant had become his therapist.
"I know the acts loneliness will drive a man to commit. Such a man shields his face. Such a man may even shun the faces he mourns but has forgotten."
"I do not follow, The*Providence-sama."
"I pray that I'm wrong, S'btian. Because if I'm right…All we've done…All we will do…We may be doomed to repeat it. All may be for naught."
…
"Yuhi, dinner." Yuamu tried, since Maki-san's pleas weren't prevailing.
"Not hungry."
"Yagi-san made yakitori."
"Chupataro's favourite…"
"I know how you feel, Yuhi."
"No you don't, Yuamu. You don't know what it's like to have part of you torn out. I've had my Earthdamar pulled out of me. And my heart with Chupataro."
"I do know. When MIK pushed us down here, my big brother wasn't the same again. I've been wondering for two years where he went."
"To Hell and back."
"Back's the important part."
"I want Chupataro back."
"Yuhi…"
"The Captain of Red-Eyes Black Dragon's Sixth Division said the people who've been carded are still alive. If that's true –!"
"They can be changed back. Yuna and Chupataro-kun and Guy-kun. Everyone."
"Should you be working with the Sevens? They're dangerous."
"Their army is bigger than ours, Yuhi. We need all the help we can get."
"President! The messenger from Red-Eyes Black Dragon has arrived!"
"Thank you, Tazaki-san. I'll be right dow –"
"We."
"What?"
"We'll be right down." Yuhi slid down the ratty roof and swung back inside through an open window.
As Tazaki-san advised, a messenger was waiting for the President of UTS downstairs.
"Our forces are at your disposal, Yuamu-san."
"The only disposing we'll be doing is of MIK!"
"Good answer."
"Well? Which one of the Sevens are you?" Yuhi kept up his rude charade.
