Summary:
There are some forms of alien activity even MIK turns a blind eye to. The truly alien activity between Chupataro and Ohdo Yuhi, for instance.
Chapter 70: Purity
The respectable thing to do was to visit Yuamu and see how she was doing. How Yuhi described his sister's episode to him last night, Chupataro envisioned Yuamu bedridden, not mobile. And certainly not attending to UTS' normal affairs!
"Chupa! You overcame that in record time, cabra!"
"It's all thanks to Mitsuko-chan's dango soup! I'm 100% and raring to go! GO RUSH, that is!"
Phaser, Yuna, and/or Asaka had undoubtedly sweet-talked Yuamu into filming a three-second clip to sell the Galaxy Cup with that line!
"Chupataro thought her soup is made with 100% hate, chupa! You should be Burial Clothes of the Battlefield right now, chupa!"
"Who says I'm not?" Yuamu joked. "Now where'd I leave my sword?"
"300%. That's the height of my scorn for Zuwijo! And criticize my dango again, I'll do this!" Mitsuko threatened to push her hand down on Chupataro's head.
"Zuwijo's gonna Zuwijo, chupa."
"Yuhi's worried about me, is he?"
"Chupa. You are his twin sister, chupa!"
"Where is he?"
Now it was Chupataro's turn to joke.
"He was worried about you, but was more worried about Damamu's godmother ninjaing him back to the Sengoku Era for skipping out on another day of Rush Duels, chupa!"
"Hahaha…So he sent you to check up on me, Chupataro-kun?"
"Chupa came out of Chupa's own concern, cabra!"
"Mm. How long before you start asking me to babysit?"
"That's cold, Anesan!" Chupataro yoinked The*Luge's catchphrase. "At any rate, Yuhi gave Chupa the facts! That got Chupa thinking, chupa!"
"Thinking?"
"The truth is out there, chupa! Or in here!" He tapped Yuamu on the noggin. "We just have to jog your memory, cabra!"
"What do you propose?"
"A Rush Duel, chupa!"
"A Rush Duel?" Yuamu and Mitsuko said together.
"You'll see when you duel, chupa!"
While the girls got out their Duel Disks, Chupataro snuck Mitsuko a card and whispered, "Play this card, chupa."
Mitsuko nodded.
Why wasn't Yuamu herself yesterday? Where'd Darkness Drake come from? This Duel would unravel the mystery!
"Viewers at home! The Duel between UTS' Ohdo Yuamu and Boiled Bagel Requiem's Hiramori Mitsuko is about to begin!" Ranran suddenly appeared.
"We vow we won't be a moment, de gojaru!" Menjaburo reassured.
"Chupataro! Look, look! Ranran's lettin' me use the camera!" Damamu whooped.
"I'm set, Mitsuko-chan! Ohdo Yuamu!"
"Hiramori Mitsuko!"
"GO RUSH!"
"My turn. I draw! I summon two monsters! Adfraudra and Spindle Dragon! I activate Spindle Dragon's effect, sending the top two cards of my Deck to the Graveyard. Then Adfraudra's effect: I send one card from my hand to the Graveyard, revealing a monster in my hand to deal 700 damage to you, Mitsuko-chan!"
"Keh!" (Mitsuko LP 4000 ↓ 3300)
"I release two monsters! Advance Summon! Watts are volts and amps! Now it's time to switch on the acceleration with the strongest hertz! Rise and shine! Red-Boot Boost Dragon!" (Level 7 DARK Dragon/Effect ATK 2400 DEF 1600)
"This is –! It's the same as yesterday's Duel!" Ranran took note of the similarities.
"Speed is justice! Boost up, accelerator! In the name of Ohdo Yuamu, I install this onto Red-Boot Boost Dragon! Equip Magic, QWERTY Keyblade! Red-Boot Boost Dragon's ATK goes up by 200, and I activate Red-Boot's effect! I choose monsters in my Graveyard and deal 100 damage to you for each, boosting Red-Boot's ATK by 400 until end of turn, and returning the chosen monsters to my Deck!" (ATK 2400 ↑ ATK 2600 ↑ ATK 3000)
"Wha –?" (Mitsuko LP 3300 ↓ 2900)
"Turn end!" (ATK 3000 ↓ ATK 2600)
"I'll stand TALL! My turn! Draw! I summon Secret Investigator Miss Take! During the Main Phase this monster is summoned, I can activate her effect. I excavate the top three cards of my Deck, adding one Level 3 or higher Reptile-Type to my hand, and returning the other cards to the top."
"And Mitsuko does just thaaat!"
"If you have a monster on the field, I can pay 1000 Life Points to activate the Magic Card, Release Wrath! I send the top five cards of my Deck to the Graveyard, and if a Reptile-Type is among them, Miss Take's ATK goes up by 200 for every Reptile-Type sent to the Graveyard by this effect!" (ATK 1300 ↑ ATK 1900)
"Whoa! And she lands three Reptile-Types, de gojaru!"
"I summon Secret Investigator Miss Match! Then I send Secret Investigator Miss Lead from my hand to the Graveyard to activate Miss Match's effect, Special Summoning a Level 7 Reptile-Type from my Graveyard! I swear upon the Three Stars that I shall expose your weaknesses! Move out! Elite Secret Investigator Miss Tery!" (Level 7 LIGHT Reptile/Effect ATK 2300 DEF 1000)
"There's her Ace Monster, folks!"
"Field Magic, Area 33!"
UTS' façade became a military compound. Ranran and Menjaburo stormed Area 33, running faster than bullets along opposite runways with their ninja prowess, their torsos forward and arms behind them.
"Face-up Reptile-Type Normal Monsters gain 600 ATK!"
"However, all the Flatwoods Monster's monsters on the field are Effect Monsters! My eyes are as swirly as a naruto's swirl in a bowl of noodles, de gojaru!"
"When I control Area 33, I can equip the Equip Magic, Hyperplague Virus Blackdust, to Red-Boot Boost Dragon!"
Cancerous black oil spread through Yuamu's monster.
"What is this?"
"Yuamu-san, Red-Boot Boost Dragon has contracted an alien virus in Area 33. That virus' name? Purity!"
"Purity?"
"With Hyperplague Virus Blackdust, I draw a card! Then I activate Miss Tery's effect! Prologue of Three Battles! I return Miss Take and Miss Match from my field, as well as Alien Count of the White Dwarf, St. Germain from my hand, to my Deck! Miss Tery's ATK goes up by 300, and I Special Summon from my Graveyard!"
Shimmering scales. Gold accoutrements. Onibi.
