Kimberly is consoling her daughter Teri. Teri is a little upset about striking out, costing her team the game. Jack tries to help with this. Teri is only 6, so Jack wants to let his granddaughter know it's okay.
.
Teri: I lost grampa.
Jack: So there weren't eight other players on your team?
Teri: But I struck out.
Jack: Do you know what Babe Ruth, Ted Williams, and Willie Mays all have in common?
Teri: They were all great hitters.
Jack: Yes they were. And every single one of them struck out sometimes, it happens to the best of hitters. And the best pitchers of all time, Cy Young, Satchel Paige, Nolan Ryan, Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, they not only lost games but they gave up home runs at times. I'll let you in on a little secret Teri. As long as you play your best, and play fairly, then win or lose you can be proud of yourself.
.
This made little Teri smile. The family began heading to their cars to go to Jack's house for the barbeque. But as Jack and Audrey got to where they had parked, their car was nowhere to be seen. Jack was certain he had parked here, at least he was pretty sure. Maybe he was getting old, he and Audrey decided to keep looking for their car.

At CTU Washington director George Mason checks in with his computer expert, Jamey Farrell.
.
Mason: Any word from the lunatic fringe?
Jamey: The usual suspects are upset about the withdrawel from Afghanistan. The Proud Boys, the Oath Keepers, they keep saying that there will "Probably" be some terrorist attack in the next 24 hours.
Mason: Anything specific, or are they just making the same guess that I am?
Jamey: Nothing specific, but they are spewing the usual hatred for president Allen and vice-president Keaton.
Mason: And rumor is that the vice-president is going to be stopping by one of these returning home ceremonies today.
Jamey: Yeah, and from their online conversations, they don't seem to care about killing these soldiers, or their families.
Mason: And these are the ones who most loudly claim to be "pro-american." I better let Secret Service know.
.
Mason called Aron Pierce of the Secret Service. Mason knew he might be wrong, but if there was something planned he wanted to cover his bases.
.
Pierce: Agent Pierce here.
Mason: This is director Mason. We've been seeing a lot of online chatter amongst the extremists, possibly targeting the president and/or vice-president.
Pierce: We are aware, especially today. But both are stubborn, and hesitant to alter their routine
Mason: I understand, but you should be aware of the danger.

More cars have cleared out of this area. Jack can now see all of the cars in the parking lot, his is not here. He goes to speak with officer Brown, who was here with his children. Brown is not happy to be talking with Jack Bauer, but he tries to put on a poker face.
.
Brown: Can I help you mr Bauer?
Jack: My car seems to have been stolen?
Brown: Sure it wasn't one of your family, taking it by mistake?
Jack: I'm certain.
Brown: I'll file a report, just need your name and the licence plate number. Any idea who'd want to steal from you?
Jack: I assumed it was just a car thief.
Brown: It could be, maybe just a little karma. But, and I'm just saying, you made a lot of enemies in your day.
Jack: Yes I did, and some of them are still alive and unwilling to forgive me.
.
Jack told the officer what he knew, particularly the car's licence plate number. It was clear that this policeman seemed to believe that he and Audrey had gotten off easy, Jack couldn't really blame him. All he could do for now was to get an Uber back home and try to enjoy the barbeque.
