The White House is on lockdown following the attack in Virginia. They are waiting for an estimate on the number of casualties, particularly whether the vice-president was harmed. Gardner receives news.

Gardner: The vice-president is okay. He was at the ceremony in Maryland, the attack happened in Virginia.
Allen: That's a relief. How many casualties?
Gardner: Security has confirmed at least 12 dead, but that number is expected to rise. The bomber is also dead, CTU is doing everything they can to find out who else might be involved.

Colonel Mcnamara speaks with major Barnes.

Barnes: I heard there's been an attack on America.
Mcnamara: Yeah, about ten minutes ago. Soldiers returning from this war, killed with their families.
Barnes: We're suppossed to leave in the next 23 hours, that could be us very soon.
Mcnamara: I'm aware. I fully intend to abide by the treaty and leave. But until then we should do what we can to protect this embassy. And if anyone in this country is involved in an attack against America, we can make sure they're not involved in the next one.
Barnes: Understood sir.

Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida drive towards their meeting with Melanie. They have heard from the car radio about the attack in Virginia.

Tony: You think this was the attack Melanie tried to warn you about?
Jack: It's possible. Melanie's husband Aslan, he wouldn't let her know the details of whatever he was planning, but it's always possible that she overheard something.
Tony: Correct me if I'm wrong, Aslan was wounded in battle, it left him unable to have children.
Jack: Correct, so if Melanie really got pregnant, it was by someone else. Which explains why she fled.
Tony: Maybe we could use her as bait, kill or capture Aslan.
Jack: She was just a kid, got in over her head.
Tony: She and Aslan used you Jack.
Jack: That was Aslan's influence.
Tony: You're sure about that? She did pledge allegiance to ISIS, maybe this is a trap.
Jack: I doubt Aslan would risk his plan for me. But a wife who cheats on him, that he would risk everything for revenge.

Special agent Eric Carter and his team are ready to raid Jack Bauer's house. It is unclear if Jack is here, but they know that his wife is here, so is his daughter. There are also six other people who were known or alleged to have been radicals in the past, all had criminal records, all knew how to use firearms. There were also children present, Eric told his team to be cautious. The raid was fairly smooth, the guests at this barbeque were startled, but offered no resistance. Jack Bauer wasn't home, nor was Tony Almeida. Eric begins questioning Audrey.

Eric: Mrs Bauer, where is your husband?
Audrey: He and Tony Almeida left about 15 minutes ago. They said they had to protect an old informant.
Eric: Have you heard what happened in Virginia?
Audrey: Yes. And I highly doubt that anyone here was involved in any way.
Eric: Still, we would like all of you to come down to CTU and answer a few questions.
