Estaban calls his boss, Ramon Salazaar. If Nina really has specific intel about an upcoming attack against America, the cartel could use this as leverage. Maybe buy themselves a little leeway, president Allen might be willing to look the other way on the Salazaar's operations, for a little while at least. And ofcourse Estaban hopes to use this opportunity to increase his own standing within the cartel. Jack hopes that he can use this opportunity, while Estaban is distracted, to plan an escape.

Gaines is checking the MLB websites. Naturally they've all put out letters of condolences to the 216 people killed in the Virginia bombing. By this point the number of dead has probably increased. But none of the games have been cancelled, but there will be extra security. Gaines wonders, after the upcoming attack on president Allen, will there still be baseball played later today. He'll have to wait to find out.
.
Tyler and his team are preparing for their attack. He and his team of neo-nazies hope to start a war between America and Russia. Tyler knows that this is a suicide mission, and his team have developed enough Russian accents to fool people, for a few minutes at least. This should finally bring about the great war that Tyler has always wanted, he's only sorry that he won't get to see it personally.

Horace still can't sleep, when he gets a call from Carl Webb.
.
Horace: Hello?
Webb: Hello Horace.
Horace: Who is this?
Webb: I was a friend of Karen, I wanted to offer my condolences.
Horace: Thanks.
Webb: Perhaps we can mourn her "suicide" together.
Horace: I don't think I can get away.
Webb: Find a way. Unless ofcourse you want the police to look closer for evidence agianst you.
.
Horace realized that this caller, whoever he was, had played a part in her death. There were only two people who knew for certainty that Horace didn't murder Karen, himself, and whoever the real killer was. Even his own parents had their doubts. If someone was planning to blackmail Horace, it was this guy.

While Estaban was distracted, just outside the shed, Jack Bauer made his move. He had noticed that Estaban kept a silencer on his gun, no need to attract unwanted attention from the government or rebel troops. With all his strength Jack pushed his chair backwards, which destroyed the chair and his ropes. In panic Estaban came rushing in, and Jack knocked him down. In the brief struggle Jack put his legs around Estaban's head and snapped his neck. Jack picked up Estaban's gun and pointed it at Nina Myers. He could shoot her right there and the carter soldiers wouldn't even hear him.
.
Split screens show Jack holding the gun at Nina, Horace plotting to leave the White House again, Kyle Singer returning to the American embassy, Gaines plotting how to target baseball games, president Allen working late with vice-president Keaton, Georgia and Eve waiting in their safehouse, Tyler and his team making final preperations.
.
Jack Bauer is still deciding whether to kill Nina or not.
.
Nina: Are you going to kill me Jack?
Jack: Give me a reason not to.
Nina: The attack on president Allen, it's happening within the next few hours.
Jack: Secret Service wouldn't allow her to leave the White House at this point.
Nina: The terrorists are going to attack at the White House, there's a traitor within Secret Service.
Jack: Who?
Nina: Tyler Gray.
Jack: Why did you ask Estaban to stop torturing me?
Nina: I needed to keep my options open.
.
Jack believed Nina was telling the truth, and the question remained what he should do about her. With Estaban dead the rest of the cartel might want her dead, perhaps she could be an ally for the moment. Perhaps against his better judgement, Jack undid her ropes. For better or worse, they needed each other right now.
