This story answers some questions left unanswered by CIC, and plays around with the characters from 24. You might also notice I use elements from my previous 24 stories. It also goes into certain recent events, like the evacuation from Afghanistan and the war between Russia and Ukraine.

53. Chapter 53

Aron Pierce has placed the White House on lockdown, president Allen is being brought to the panic room. Tyler knows it's now only a matter of time before they find him. It was always a suicide mission, this hurts their plan, but there's no going back. Tyler and his ten neo-nazies begin their attack. It is fast and brutal. Aron Pierce and his Secret Service agents put up resistance, but the terrorists have superior firepower.

Vice president Keaton hadn't even gotten to his bedroom when agent Hayes informs him of the development at the White House. Terrorists are laying siege to the building, the president's current location is unknown. It is conceivable that very soon Keaton might become acting president, or the official president. Keaton is immediately brought to a secure location to remain apprised of the situation.

At CTU George Mason informs everyone what is going on.

Mason: Terrorists are trying to take the White House, we don't yet know if president Allen is alive. I know this might be difficult but we need to keep working. We need to identify who is responsible so that our president, whoever they might be, can have all the intel for appropriate retaliation.

One of Tyler's neo-nazis finds president Allen, along with agent Pierce. The shootout commences, Pierce is wounded, and president Allen is forced to pick up his gun and shoot the terrorist herself. It was times like this when her old training as a police officer really paid off. These two are only a few feet away from the panic room. Pierce tells the president to go inside without him.

Pierce: I don;t know what the terrorists want. They might want to kill you, they might want intel from you. Either way, their plan fails if you get in there now.

Allen: You're right, good luck.

President Allen makes it into the panic room just before Tyler makes it to her. He knows there is now no way for his people to get to her, not unless she comes out voluntarily. But his associates have been able to cut communication between the panic room and the vice president. Keaton won't order his agents to storm the White House if there's any danger they could hurt the president, but that will only buy them so much time. Tyler knows he needs to find a way to get the president out, soon.
