Audrey lays in bed, unable to sleep. She watches the news, relieved that the president is alive, but worried that more attacks will come. Finally she gets a call from her husband, Jack Bauer.

Audrey: Jack, are you okay?
Jack: Yeah, I'm fine. I've captured Nina Myers. She claims to have intel about more attacks against America.
Audrey: What do you need from me?
Jack: I just need you to make certain that Kim and her family are okay.
Audrey: Ofcourse I will. When are you coming back?
Jack: I'm not sure about that. Hopefully we'll all be safe and together in 12 hours. If anything happens, I just want you and everyone to know that I love you.
Audrey: I love you too Jack, more than anything.

At the White House president Allen is discussing her recent phone call with Putin.

Allen: Putin kept saying that the terrorists were neo nazies. How could he know that Tyler's men had neo nazi ties?
Keaton: Maybe he didn't. Maybe he just assumed it was the usual suspects.
Allen: Perhaps. But we need to be prepared for anything. I understand there are plans for, removing, hostile leaders.
Gardner: We have plans in place for any possible contingency. Although ofcourse they have always needed the president's approval.
Keaton: And there is a reason why no president has authorized plans for, removing, the leader of Russia.
Allen: Let's not pretend that America has never planned or executed the removal of foreign heads of state.
Keaton: None of them were nuclear powers. For better or worse we picked fights with less advanced countries, with inferior weapons. And it's worth remembering that it rarely ends well, for us or the people of those countries.
Allen: I agree that there could be consequences for removing Putin by force, and I need to consider that. But I will also review pans for Putin's removal.
Keaton: Should I put the neccessary personel on alert?
Allen: Only with the strict understanding that they take no steps to implement them without my direct authorization.
Keaton: Understood madam president.

Jack Bauer lands his plane and Tony Almeida is here to greet him and Nina.

Nina: Tony, good to see you.
Tony: Nina, never thought I'd see you again. Actually what I meant is, I hoped I'd never see you again.
Nina: You seem familiar with the concept of forgive and forget.
Tony: Jack says George Mason just tried to have you two killed, how did he try to have you killed?
Nina: Immediately after Jack called him and said he captured me, a rocket destroyed our original plane.
Tony: Where were you again?
Jack: The jungles of Cuba.
Tony: An unknown plane lands in the jungles of Cuba. Anyone could have destroyed it. Maybe the government feared it was the rebels, maybe the rebels thought it was a government plane. Maybe a drug cartel thought the plane belonged to one of their rivals. Has it occurred to you Jack that Nina is lying to you to save herself?
Jack: Yes, but the plane was there for over an hour and was attacked mere minutes after I called Mason. I think he's trying to cover his crimes.
Tony: What crimes? Sure he's a little corrupt but this Washington, he blends in real easy.
Jack: But I can't take the chance, you're the only one I can trust right now.
Tony: Okay. So who else is involved in these attacks?
Nina: John Walker is involved.
Tony: The defense contractor?
Nina: Yes. Back when he was in the navy he sold naval technology to rogue states.
Tony: I remember hearing that his son was arrested for these crimes, but he commited suicide in his jail cell.
Nina: Maybe it was suicide, maybe he had his own son killed. Either way daddy was never arrested. He built his defense company, peace with Afghanistan threatens his business. So Walker wants to keep the war going, and maybe help the Russia-Ukraine war going, because he'll make a fortune. I think Mason's involved because Walker is very generous to his helpful friends.
