President Putin is meeting with Yuri Suvarov, his prime minister.

Putin: The Americans will try to blame us for the attacks against them.
Suvarov: Our forces are on alert should they retaliate. But our forces are spread thin because of the war in Ukraine.
Putin: Indeed.
Suvarov: Perhaps we should consider negotiating a peace with Zelensky.
Putin: Out of the question. Donetsk and Luhansk belong with mother Russia. If we were to abandon them now, what would happen to those who helped our forces?
Suvarov: Their safety would have to be a guarantee of any peace agreement, but I believe Zelensky would agree to this.
Putin: No. We keep moving forward until we have conquered these territories. Now, if you'll excuse me I must go and greet the heroes of this conflict.

Eric Carter returns to CTU. George Mason greets him.

Mason: Nice work saving the president.
Eric: Glad to be able to help. Have we located Gaines or reverend Adam yet?
Mason: Sadly no. By now Georgia and her allies have gone underground, they most likely won't resurface until it's time for the next attack.
Eric: I'll do what I can to stop that attack.
Mason: Most schools will be closed because of today's attacks, so we're trying to figure out where the next attack will be.

Horace Allen wanders the streets of D.C. He is afraid of what will happen now, wonders why he should even go on living. His cellphone is loaded with messages from his sister Rebecca, but he can't bring himself to answer. Horace sees an apartment building, and the doors aren't locked. He wonders if he were to jump off this building, would it be enough to kill him? Right now suicide seems like the easy way out.

Rebecca tries to call her brother, but he isn't answering. She is worried for his safety, and finally decides to their their mother that Horace is missing.

Jack Bauer and his team plot what to do against Walker. This was a man who was willing to instigate a war and murder his own son for money, clearly he was a dangerous man. But a part of Jack wondered if Nina was lying the whole time to save herself.

Split screens show Jack and his group strategizing in secret, Horace Allen contemplating suicide, Rebecca telling their mother that Horace is missing, CTU trying to determine where Gaines and Adam are, president Putin arriving at the ceremony.

The Russian crowds cheer the arrival of their president, the band plays patriotic music. Putin makes certain to get a good photo of himself shaking hands with Ded Moroz. The cameras capture all of this. Among those watching are Dimitri from his office. It is somewhat fitting that Putin should enjoy these moments. If all goes according to plan, these will be Putin's last moments.
