Review Shoutouts

The Storyteller993 – Well in the case of Lu Yi, he's more of a tell and not show person. He's got some feats to show off in some cutscenes but overall we only see him parry attacks and show off a few moves like in the Koyuki route in Majikoi S when he's being mind controlled.

But in the end I think they have a point in that the martial arts world, one would think the best system is one where those earn their place for their own hard work and talent. That's not an insult, but in some ways can be a driver for someone to get better.

And don't worry she will open their eyes, but like I keep saying; I won't just tell how I'll do it yet…

The embodiment of weirdness – Yeah, that's the plan and given his previous development in the prologue will also have an impact in the route he plays; kind of like in the Momoyo route she had the saying "I'll be waiting" or "I'm waiting" she would say it over and over in the prologue.

So think back to the prologue for Kazuko what was their defining moment(s)?

Majikoi – Love Me Seriously - Kazuko Route

Daughter of Kawakami – Part 3

Chasing Dreams…

June 8th, 2009, Monday

School during Homeroom—

"I have reviewed your career surveys… and have concluded some of you will need to rewrite them! How can you deliberate so little on your futures?!" Ume-sensei didn't sound happy. "Including you, Shimazu Gakuto! My husband?! That's it? Are you as stupid as you look?!

Yes…. Yes he is…

But even so Gakuto stood his ground, "I'm not stupid. I'm deadly serious."

But our teacher wasn't having any of it, "That's even worse!" She whipped him.

"Gwah! The whip of love!" Gakuto said as he was knocked out.

Umeko then turned her attention to Haguro; "And you, Haguro. 'Nothing really' is unacceptable."

Haguro though did seem unsure, "Hm… I mean… I totally don't know. What do you want from me? That whole 'get in touch with your inner self' thing doesn't click with me."

"Fukumoto? What is a women's cameraman?!" Umeko demanded from the camera pervert. And for the sake of my sanity I will not even dare to repeat the drivel that he uses to justify his "career choice."

"My love and passion got through to her!" Yonpachi cheered.

Moro disagreed, "Maybe, minus the love part. But I think she just got tired of dealing with you."

"Those of you who must resubmit your work, take some time to think before you do." Ume-sensei leaves us with that final instruction.

During breaktime—

"Ahh… I gotta do mine all over again." Gakuto groaned.

"Just say you'll be a corporate man and move on." Suguru suggested.

"What did you write?" Gakuto asked the nerd.

"Physicist." Suguru said, to the surprise of his classmates. "One day, I will bring the world of 2D and link it to ours!"

Yeah, the concept is about a few years WAY too early.

Moro however wasn't as surprised, "That's some powerful motivation."

"I thought you'd come up with game designer or something like that." Yonpachi pointed out.

"We're that my profession, I would no longer be able to enjoy being a player. Although, I would not be against making indie projects to help sustain my income in the meanwhile." Suguru clarified.

"Hm, at least your looking towards the future; but what if your main career flops? Someone doesn't want to invest or sees your work as a pipe dream. I hope you're not just gonna go Doc Ock and work in your basement all day and night?" I asked him.

"Hmm… I see, that is quite the conundrum you've brought up. But even so… I will hold on to hope that there is a kindred soul out there like me who yearns for that ambition!" Seems Suguru was set in his ways.

"Well I guess in that case I actually want to create games myself. Although it's a job that doesn't bring in the most stable income you know?" Moro said.

"I hear a lot of indie developers take on project contracts for income. You know making smaller games for other independent developers and smaller firms. That's a way you can supplement your income in the meantime." I tell him.

"Yeah, that's not a bad idea. It'd not only get me some income, but I'd be gaining experience working with different developers, game genres and the like. You sure know a lot Nagamasa, what did you write?" Moro asked me.

"I wrote economic advisor." I answered honestly.

"Oh, that sounds rather boring." Kazama commented.

"Sure, to people who find numbers and math boring. But those kinds of people help people everywhere in businesses, governments and other groups running. They're not just people in suits and glasses; they're still people helping in their own way." I reply.

"But as a warrior, doesn't that seem rather safe Nagamasa-san?" Chris inquired. "For me, I will be joining the military."

"Yes, but that doesn't mean the lessons, I'm taught as a warrior can't be translated to the world of business and economics. Think about this Chris, what did samurai lords have to do when there was no fighting? They used those skills which initially were for war to help the people live better lives and enrich the populace."

"Oh, that is noble indeed." Chris seemed to understand.

I continue, "But if that never pans out, I do plan on starting my own photography business. I've always loved taking pictures of people, nature, and all sorts of things."

"Oh yeah, you were taking a lot of pictures with your phone during the Hakone trip." Yamato pointed out.

"I wrote 'Housewife' (Yamato's wife)' and I didn't get mine back. This means the school supports our relationship." Miyako and her usual antics… "Although I wanted the part where I wanted to be Nagamasa's mistress, but that is for me to know…"

I shudder, I can feel… danger…

"Oh, Wanko didn't get hers back either." I quickly changed the topic.

"Mmmm… there you go again, quickly changing the subject." Miyako whined.

"I mean I'm aiming to be assistant master at Kawakami Temple." Kazuko replied.

"Yeah…" I said, all the while hiding my slight worry behind a book I had.

Eventually everyone begins talking about their dreams. But just how many would see their dreams come true?

June 10th, 2009, Wednesday

During one practical philosophy class session—

"Okay, today we'll be talking about career paths—" But just as Usami-sensei was starting Haguro interrupted him.

"Yo, yo Beardy! Question! Like totally a question!" She waved her arm around.

"Oh, what is it Ganguro?" Usami-sensei knowingly mispronounced her name.

Haguro was offended, "The name's Haguro, Beardy. You think I'm nothing, just cause I'm a student?"

And Usami didn't want to deal with it so he moved on, "Then maybe you shouldn't look down on your elders… Whatever, just ask your question."

"Are there like any stable and easy jobs out there?" Haguro inquired.

"That's a hard question these days." Yonpachi comments.

"Of course there are." Usami-sensei answers.

"Well there's public service. That's the first thing that comes to mind." Yamato answered.

"There's also entry-level style jobs such as retail and entertainment jobs like cashiers and stockers at stories and restaurants. But delivery drivers I here making a decent living." I added on.

"Yep, good old local government work and of course, like Azai-san said there's small-time work at stores and warehouses. Delivery drivers, have a friendly environment too. The best advantage of those kinds of jobs is that most of them have employee plans such as maternity leave and such." Usami continued.

"Hmm? Like what?" Haguro asked.

"Like say if you were a government desk worker. If you're a woman and you have a kid you get six months guaranteed paid leave, and if you somehow are expecting during that period, there's the possibility of even more time as regulated by law that has to be given to you." And so was the life of a local government bureaucrat.

"Hm, it's that good?" Wanko asked.

"Well it depends probably on the city and prefecture you work in. That and the environment you work in with co-workers can also lead to how you are when it comes to work dynamic." I replied recalling more old life where I once worked as the bookkeeper for a warehouse and when I used to work retail; both of which helped me though college.

"Well there is that and you have a set schedule and when to get home." Chika added on.

"There's also the fact most jobs like that have stable incomes; although the idea of bonuses aren't always out of the question for exemplary workers." Usami said. "Of course, that's not to say there aren't any complaints. I have friends who work public service."

"Thay say: 'The work is boring' or 'I feel like my life's laid out for me'; and such things." Usami tacked on at the end.

"That is a first-world problem at it's finest. Many would kill to have it." Suguru ominously said.

"Right? That kind of sounds like a pretty good deal to me." Even Kuma-chan agreed.

"Nah, it's a whirlwind tour through life, or it's nothing." Kazama said as he disagreed. "You're not alive if you ain't rolling the dice. Risk your life, push yourself to the edge and live to tell the tale."

Chris slightly objected, "I would propose that there is such a thing as living too much in the moment."

"So if you want this old man's opinion; if stability is what you're looking for a government job is the way to go." Usami said.

"Sweet, okay." Seemed Haguro might have found her path.

With that though he leaves us a warning, that even despite how "steady" and "easy" it may seem. It's still a job and that you still have to take it seriously.

Yonpachi asked about being a Buddhist priest, to which Yamato informed him about the various pros and cons of being one mostly with info her found on the Net, books and heard from others.

"You are strangely knowledgeable on the subject there, Yamato." Chris seemed a bit perplexed by Yamato's ability to know the basics about being a priest.

After explaining how he knew, "If anything, I expected you to know more about this, Chris."

"S-Such things have nothing to do with bushido or chivalry?" Chris said with light nervous stutter.

"And your Yamatomaru DVD series?" I tease her as well.

"T-That is material that teaches me about the art of bushido here in Japan!" Chris defends herself as the both of us put our hands up defensively. "Are you trying to annoy me?!"

"Damn, you and her are that close, Naoe?" Usami joined in now.

Playing along Yamato said, "So Chris, I guess she has a thing for me."

Chris was now crimson red in the face, "No! Obviously not! Do not be ludicrous!"

Gakuto then wanting to be the macho man, "Of she doesn't like you; it's because she likes me."

Chris simply replied, "No, not in the slightest."

"Someone's not bein' honest with herself." Gakuto retorted.

"Uh pardon me, but weren't you the one who literally had on his career surbey that he'd be Ume-sensei's husband? Besides, I thought you preferred girls older, as well you know…" I shrugged at the end pointing out the obvious.

"Yeah, he's right. What's the like for Chris all of a sudden?" Yamato inquired.

"It was love at first sight." Gakuto simply said with his usual dreamy look.

"Stupid?" I pointed at Gakuto while looking at Yamato.

"Stupid." He agreed.

"Well like they said; realistically I think she means it." Moro said.

"There he goes again…" Miyako groaned while trying to read her book in peace.

"When it comes to cash, the biggest temples are the ones raking in the dough." Usami says.

"So even with temples; there's the rich and the poor." Chika replied. "Wait, Wanko, Naga; which category does the Kawakami Temple fall in?"

"So technically, the Kawakami Temple is one of the three largest in Kanto, along with Takao and Narita. We've always got enough food for the table." Kazuko says.

"Well, I guess that makes sense with all the visitors you guys get." Chika replies.

"That and the numerous voluntary donations we get helps to fund the temple's activities and events as well as the day-to-day operations of the temple." I added-on.

"But honestly, taking over the temple? That's not my goal. I want to support Onee-sama, so I'm aiming to be assistant master." Kazuko said proudly. "Well, as long as I can put food on the table, that's enough for me."

Mayo clapped for her, "That's a wonderful goal."

"Yeah. Nothing beats making your dreams come true. Nailed it! I need one of you to tell Ms. Kojima about this moment. And maybe play it up a bit?" Usami begged us.

"Sure, for 3,000 yen." Yonpachi asked for with his hand out.

"You idiot! You think money can buy Ms. Kojima's heart?!" He then turned back to us, "So please, just one of you tell her about this and tack on that last part too?"

"I-I don't think there's any need to take this so seriously." Mayo said with a stutter.

"Should we truly be studying under a man like him?" Chris whispers to herself.

"Wow, but like, Wanko good luck girl." Chika cheered her on.

"I so wish I had a dream like that." Haguro said wistfully.

"Huh? Wha?" Wanko seemed surprised. "Eheheh. Did you hear that Nagamasa?"

"Look at you being all proud." I decided to praise her a bit by patting her head.

"Waha. Yay, yay." She seemed happy as she smiled.

"You're always just one happy camper aren't you?" I smile back.

"I heard that Mr. Lu is the assistant master at Kawakami Temple."

"Yeah. Believe it or not, he's really strong." Wanko Kazuko praised him.

"If anyone, even non-family, can become an assistant master, it must be a pretty strict competition to make the cut." Usami said.

"If you want to be the best, then you have to beat the rest, right? So I can't slack off." Kazuko said.

"Good thing you aren't tested on academics." Usami stated.

"If you were, Momo-senpai would never be allowed to take over the temple." Oh, you done dug your grave boy…

"And if you want her to never hear those words came from you ever and still see tomorrow. I suggest you buy me some gyoza and an extra large bowl of tonkotsu ramen from Naruki's." I demanded with a smile.

"Hey, hey. Just because you live with them doesn't mean you get to pull that card." Gakuto tried to stand his ground.

"And if she were in this room, you don't think she'd put you in a Backbreaker, eh?" I recall her past torture of him.

"Guh… that's low…" Gakuto shudders from the memory.

"In that case, I'd also like some gyoza and katayuki senbei from Naruki's too." Yamato asked.

"Yamato, you…" Gakuto was getting annoyed.

"And I'll have some of Naruki's Szechuan noodles. That'll teach you not to blurt out the first thing that comes into your head in the middle of class." Usami joined in.

Gakuto gave up, "Whoa. When did this class become Yakuza 101?!"

"I do love Naruki's gyoza." Kuma-chan said as he munched away on a bread roll.

"Hey, Kuma-chan what're you eating? It looks yummy." Kazuko noticed it.

"It's Inadazutsumi's wild yeast bread. They only sell six per day. Do you want some?" Kuma hands her a piece.

"Wow, thanks." Hah… even our classmates spoil her.

June 11th, 2009, Thursday

"Party of seven? Could I show you to your table?" The waitress call for our group. We were at the family restaurant, Gost.

"So were here, at the family restaurant… it's me, Chris, Mayucchi, Wanko, Miyako, Yamato, and Nagamasa?" Gakuto listed off who had joined him. He'd called us here for some reason.

"Moro had something to do, and Nee-san and Capt have work today." Yamato told him.

"Well, these numbers are more than sufficient." Gakuto seemed satisfied.

"So, why exactly did you to call us all out here? What's so important?" I asked him.

"Well, let's order first. Man, I'm starving." Gakuto says as we all sit down at the booth.

"I don't really have that much money." Kazuko says.

"Then I'll cover for our part of the bill, I've the cash on hand." I tell her.

"Nah man, I'll pay for you guys, provided everyone's meal is below 1,000 yen." Gakuto counter-offers.

"It's fine dude, I insist. I've been saving up my money from all the odd jobs, and other things I've been doing to earn some of my own money since I started living in Kawakami Temple. Besides, it's lighter on you anyway." I tell him insistently.

"If you insist, I guess." I do.

"Really, Naga? Yay, yay, ya! Thanks!" Kazuko says happily.

"So what do you want?" I ask her.

Meanwhile, Yamato asked Gakuto, "So what's up man? You never buy us food."

"Indeed. What's the meaning of this?" Chris asked.

"Wow, you two were thinking of the exact same thing." Kazuko pointed out.

"I think Chris is actually starting to respect me." Yamato said with a smirk, his usual banter of teasing Chris.

"Again, what possibly gives you that impression? Absolutely not!" Chris once again denied having any feelings. "But… hold on. It just occurred to me… Heheh… Perhaps instead all of this is happening because you like me?"

"Hey, Wanko have you decided on what you're having?" I asked her, ignoring the powder keg at the table.

"Alright, alright guys. But seriously I've got something I want to talk to you guys about. Somethin' so serious I'm willing to buy you food as thanks." Gakuto got the ball rolling.

"Is this as 'serious' as last time, when you were wracking your brain over the perfect pickup-line?" Miyako referenced his past "serious" talk.

"As important as that was, this is somethin' else entirely. Don't piss your pants when you hear it. You could even say this choice will change Earth's history." Gakuto replies.

"Well this can only go poorly… But for now, it's time to order." Mayucchi scooted over to Miyako as she put away her sword, "Here, Mayucchi. If you look at the same menu as me, then today you'll be lucky."

"Okay, thank you. So what should I eat…" Mayucchi perused the menu with Miyako. She decided to go with some Soba.

"You really like Soba, don't you Mayucchi?" Gakuto asked.

"Yes. I could even eat Soba three times a day." Mayucchi says.

"I completely understand the feeling. I could do the same with inarizushi." Chris agreed with her sentiment. "Yet it seems this tea house wants for inari."

"Then what's the plan? Drinks only for now, then food or all together?" Gakuto asked.

"Wanko and I will be getting an appetizer. I'll call the waitress for us, and I guess you guys will choose what you want to do then." While I said that I pressed the call button.

"Mmngh. I wanted to press the bell, I like doing it over and over…" Wanko whined a little.

"Are you any of you ready to order?" The waitress form before arrived at our table.

Wanko immediately ordered, "The hamburg steak, friend chicken in soy sauce, and the rice salad soup combo!"

"Okay, okay… but for starters we'll have plate of gyoza as an appetizer. As for me, I'd like one of your large BBQ beef bowls with extra rice and a side of fries too." I give out the rest of my order.

"Thanks, Naga!" Wanko thanked me again.

"You better be happy I didn't have you keep the limit of 1,000 otherwise you'd have to factor in taxes for that." I said.

"Taxes? Um, if I add that in… six plus four is… Ah!" After taking a bit to do the math it seems she realized something. "Uwah… if I'd done that… I'd have gone over."

"He really is benevolent isn't he?" Gakuto said.

"Mmm… he's spoiling her. I want to be spoiled too… Honey, may I add a drink to your order? ~" Miyako said trying to sound innocent.

"Hmm, do I know you? I don't think I do." I sarcastically try to ignore Miyako.

"Aahh, how cruel… but that's strictness is why I love you too ~" God above… help me…

While the others were ordering and choosing, I watched as Wanko played with her napkin folding it over and over again.

After a while, some of the first dishes arrived. One of them was my beef bowl and fries; along with our gyoza and some of the others food.

"Ah!" Wanko realized none of her food had arrived.

"You ordered quite a bit; it's gonna take some time. Here, munch on some gyoza and some of my fries that should at least tide you over for now." I got one of those small plates and put a few gyoza, and some of my fries on the plate and slid it to Wanko.

"Really? Thanks! *Om nom nom*… *Munch munch munch* She happily easts away at the appetizers. Good thing I ordered some.

"I know I ordered a lot, but I chose them to keep the calories low, but I guess this defeats the purpose of that." Kazuko explained while eating.

"My. Dog, you count calories?" Chris said, a bit amazed.

"I don't really worry about them, but I do look at them." Kazuko said, but it was then she saw that instead of just eating the fries on her plate, she'd cleaned of the others on Nagamasa's plate as well. "Oops! I'm sorry Naga… I ate all of your fries!"

"It's fine… but you're still a bad girl." I rubbed my knuckles against her head. A classic noogie.

"Ow, ow, ow! But I said sorry…!" But in the midst of all that, Wanko's food finally arrived.

And eventually as everyone finished eating…

"What's wrong, Wanko? There's still a quarter of your meat on your plate." Miyako pointed out.

"Y-Yeah, well… Here, Naga… to make up for the fries!" Wanko tries to push the plate over to me, but I can see she still wants it.

I push the plate back, "No Wanko, I bought it for you. It's fine, eat away. Besides that beef bowl was more than enough to tide me over for the rest of the day."

"Yay, yay! Thanks, Naga!" Out of my side vision, I see Miyako with her 10-points sign.

"What?" I ask her.

"You're now acting like a doting father… I'm falling even harder for you my husband! ~" Please god make her stop!

"She is such an adorable creature." Chris said as she watched Wanko eat.

"She's such a good girl, right?" I say.

" I thought for a second you might've wanted it, so I shuddered for a bit there." Wanko replied.

"You're getting a bit too cocky." Miyako said.

"Maybe we should clamp down just a bit…" I agreed with her.

"I never thought I would say this, but Miyako and Nagamasa-san, you both really do sound like a married couple." Mayucchi commented.

Miyako then pressed the call bell, "Miss, can you buy her an orange juice? Put it on my bill."

"Bwuh?! B-But why would you buy me something?!" Mayucchi was confused.

"Heh, heh. Just keep the kind of words coming." Miyako said with a giggle.

A lightbulb went off for Wanko, "I want free food too! Okay! Nagamasa and Miyako are an item! Get a room, you two!"

"What's that supposed to mean?" I say with a glare on my face.

"You've made my Nagamasa very angry." Miyako glares too.

Wanko cowers at the both of us, "Wahhh! I'm so sorry! What'd I do wrong?!"

"Your fatal flaw was bein' an airhead, short stuff." Gakuto said.

And to that, everyone at the table even me; nodded in agreement.

"So anyways, Chris I hear Margit's slipped into 2-S and seems to be adjusting fine." I ask the German transfer student.

"Yeah, yeah, yeah! One day it was like poof! And she's there!" Wanko recovered, acted shocked when she saw that Margit was indeed going to be joining Kawakami Academy.

"Indeed, I believe she was dispatched here to be a chaperone. She seems to be integrated herself into the class. Not that I would have expected anything less from her." Chris replied.

"Yeah, I can definitely see her getting along with those 2-S elitists." Miyako commented.

"I need to fight her soon. I can't wait!" Uuuuh… even I don't know about that.

"I do not mean to insult you, Dog. But that would be a challenging contest, even for you. When Maru-san fights seriously, she is a powerful woman. More powerful than you give her credit for." Chris explained.

"And I can attest to that, remember how she gave even three of me, Miyako and you trouble Wanko? It took the three of us together just to bring her to her knees." I remember the fight we had in Hakone.

"There certainly were mysterious things about her, but… Is she really that strong? Mmm…" I mean I like to think Miyako is a good judge of ability and character given her eagle-like eyes as an archer.

"What's wrong with giving her a challenger? I'm so pumped!" Wanko was still excited, her enthusiasm not diminished a bit.

"Though speaking of Maru-san, I believe she'll be sleeping in my room on occasions at the dorm. Should you see her at the dorm, trust she is there with my permission. But she has talked of wanting a rematch with you, Nagamasa-san."

Great, now I'm on the hound's list… Just what I wanted. Yay…

"I know she's probably deployed on whatever military base is here for foreign soldiers, but why? Is she homeless she can't stay anywhere else?" I ask her.

"Well that and she'll camp by the riverbank at times as well." Okay this woman is just trying to find anywhere in Kawakami where she can be in Chris's general vicinity. The dorm; the path she uses to get to school, etc… Geez louise…

"Soldiers have it rough…" Yamato said.

"Regardless, she worries about me." Chris says. "So I asked that she spend some nights with me."

"That's way overprotective." Gakuto says.

"That'll just bring more chaos to the dorm…" Yamato says.

We'd finished eating and the waitresses were taking away our dishes.

"Okay guys, it's time for this conversation to get serious. We'll be discussin' my dreams. Now, let's all think together." Hah, I knew it was for something stupid.

"And we're discussing this why?" Miyako echoed the majority sentiment.

"In a burst of inspiration, I realized that I Gakuto, have no specific dreams. For instance… there's finding a mature woman like Ms. Ume and livin' a beautiful life with her." Gakuto first starts off.

"Then there's that. Sounds like a dream to me." Wanko says.

"Nah, Ms. Ume's just a possibility." Gakuto clarifies, "If there's someone specific, like how Miyako seeks to be either Yamato or Nagamasa's bride, then I would call that a dream."

"Eh-hem." Miyako said in between both me and Yamato's shoulders.

"Don't puff out your chest with pride." As Yamato says that the both of us move forward away from her.

"And don't rub your chest on us either." I replied in kind.

"And so I ask you to help me find my dream." Gakuto asked.

"Huh? But does that mean the rest of you have dreams?" Mayucchi asked.

"You do not have no either, Mayucchi?" Chris asks her.

"Well making 100 friends is more of a goal than a dream… All I seek is a happy, peaceful life." Mayucchi replies.

"So that said, any ideas?" Gakuto asks.

"Asking people to find out your dream for you sounds like you've hit a dead end before you even turned down the road toward it. Heck, you're not even in the driver seat anymore." I tell him.

"GAME OVER." Miyako said simulating a video game.

"RESUME!" Gakuto objected.

"But like Nagamasa said, we can't really find a better conclusion than that." Miyako says.

"My dream is still for me to decide. You guys are just giving me hints." Gakuto insisted.

"Then that is a difficult proposition… What answer would satisfy you?" Chris seems to be giving it a little thought.

"I think it would have something to do with your muscles right?" Wanko pointed out.

"For you Wanko, that's a keen observation. What sort of job lets me show off my abs…" Seems Gakuto was giving it some thought.

"That seems like an excellent avenue to explore." Mayucchi seemed a bit encouraging.

Continuing her bit from before, "And with that, the curtain falls on Act 1."

But Gakuto wasn't laughing like some of us were, "I told you to cut that out, damn it!"

This relaxed space… Filled only with the chatter of my new friends… Was something I always loved…

"Who died and gave you the right to wrap things up?!" Gakuto was still angry.

"It's just a fact." Miyako said plainly.

Of course, Gakuto wasn't the only one who was yet to have settled on a dream…

June 13th, 2009, Saturday

Today I was training with Mayucchi today after inviting her formally to the Temple. And after hearing the daughter of the Eleventh dan of the Mayuzumi style was coming you'd have thought she was some kind of VIP.

Well she is but… still I don't think she was expecting it at all. Even so for now all we're focused on is each other…

"Hahh!"

"Seya!"

We clash as the both of us test the other, eventually we relent as the both of us. Standing there watching the other, we know if other makes a move then that is the match.

Even though we're here doing nothing, the pressure; her own aura is both sharp and frightening all at the same time.

"Mmm… so this is how a mental battle rages, it truly is different they trading blows… Seems I really am still just a beginner. Mayucchi you really are amazing…" I thought to myself trying to keep my breathing under control.

"Nagamasa-san, you're quite the warrior I will confess. But I can see your mental faculties aren't as robust, even so I thank you for a good match…" Were Mayucchi's thoughts in that moment.

"Haaaaah!" The both of us charged the other and just as our blades past each other. Just as both of us seem to make contact…

"Guh…!" I feel to one knee using my sword as a crutch of sorts. "Excellent, Yukie… I was… outmatched…"

"No, you fought with all your soul in that spar, I will commend you. Your parents trained you well in your family's style." Mayucchi sheathed her own blade as she came over to help me up.

"But as I think we both know, I've not the right mind when it comes to… up here." I point to my head.

"All warriors are never perfect when they begin. My father for all the praise he is given still makes mistakes and I have seen them. He is a flawed man, and I say that with no hint of dissatisfaction. I would still receive his instruction even so." She tells me.

"Well still thank you for this… I hope you don't mind coming over a few more times." I ask her.

"Not at all, should you ever need a training partner. Please call me and I will be right over." She replies with a smile.

"Well, I think I've got a bit of an appetite, shall we have lunch?"

"Yes, I have always wished to try the food that the Kawakami Temple makes for it's monks…" Mayucchi says.

One cooking session later—

Today's dish from the kitchen was… Beef sukiyaki.

"Thank you for the food!" The both of us say as we begin to dig into our bowls. Many of the other monks around us are enjoying their lunch.

"Mmm… this is delicious." Mayucchi said.

"Yes, it's quite filling. If there's one thing the chef's here at the temple do is make their portions help last you." I tell her.

"Nagamasa-san, you look like you have something on your mind. What's wrong?" Mayucchi seems to notice my lack of usual energy.

"Oh, it's just… Wanko, I know I should keep cheering her on for her dream. But even I'm more than just a bit worried. The world of martial arts is big and it's almost never-ending. I know she's strong in her own way and her tenacity is great, but…" I could feel my worries over take me.

"Nagamasa-san…" I could hear Mayucchi say worriedly. "I can tell you care for Kazuko-san very much, and want to help her with her dream. What of your own dream, I'm just wondering."

"My own dream huh?" Well of course it was in economics and try; at least try to help the people's lives. Even if I have to go un-thanked for the rest of my life; if my ideas help people. That's enough for me.

But still… it just doesn't feel the same anymore… Seeing Kazuko struggling on, for a dream that not only JUST seems out of reach but is perpetually out of reach, as if someone keeps pulling the moon on purpose to stop the sun from coming up.

I mean is it such a bad thing that… I just want to support her?

"Nagamasa-san, it isn't a bad thing." I hear Mayucchi reply. Huh?

Did I… just monologue all that out? Oh lord…

"If you want to support Kazuko-san and still have your own dream that's just fine. You two seem very close. I'm sure if she knows you're there for her; she'd more than support you as well." Mayucchi says putting her hand on my shoulder.

"Hah… thanks Mayucchi. I needed that. Well, guess that's enough talking about issues. Shall we continue our training?" I ask her.

"Yes, I feel more than ready!" She replies.

"Then let's go!" And so the both of us head for the training yard.

AN#1 – Well here's the third part of the Kazuko Route – "The Daughter of Kawakami" to my Majikoi story, I'm NOT a Samurai, Seriously.

It seems that talk of dreams is spreading about the students of Kawakami Academy; some simple while some seem nigh unreachable.

For Nagamasa, he feels trapped seeming like he has his own dream, but wants to help Kazuko as well achieve her own..

For Kazuko, she wishes to go the next level, but things only seem to get higher for her to overcome…

What's up next for our heroes, Nagamasa and Kazuko? Stay tuned for Kazuko Route – Part 4 – Nagamasa and Kazuko…

The fandoms in question are: Ghost in the Shell, Thundercats (2011), or a Danmachi/Dark Cloud crossover?
