Chapter 25: Enlightenment

She was so ready to finally rest. She had reached the end of her time away from the West. After the day's end, she would return to Sesshomaru as promised. Ororo had thought to take a short nap before arriving to the next village. Her nightmares were coming in faster now and she had started losing sleep, opting to work and help people well into the night. Regardless of her attempt to flee her nightmares, Ororo's vision came back hauntingly bold. The clarity in which she saw the destruction all around Egypt crept up to steal her peace with each occurrence. The haunting face of Kagome looking at her with the shine of life gone from her vision replacing the face of her sister Asa. The sickly hue and her veined discoloration tainted that of the priestess's skin. Then the deathly blows of Sesshomaru's claws aimed at her throat as she met him in battle jarred her awake and fueled her walk towards the last village along the way. Shaken, she gripped his fur closer around her and proceeded to run her fingers soothingly through the pelt. She did this until she was able to calm down and return back to her path towards the high priestess's village.

Ororo walked up to edge of the village she respected the most before looking out over the many rice patty fields. The sun was setting brilliantly, and she was pleased that she had made good time. She walked along the pathway between the fields. Her bangles and earrings chimed catching the attention of a few villagers that stopped to look at her. The dirt of the earth was warm with spiritual energy pulsing through it and bouncing back against its magnetic fields. A powerful barrier was in place that even had her gawking at its strength. She moved forward seeing its purple and pink glow shifting together and expanding. Ororo reached her hands out to touch it, feeling the flow of energy around her skin. She pushed onward looking for its source around her. She followed its rhythm, running her fingers along the flow until she reached just one of several points of contact. Her fingers trailed the embedded wooden pole carefully mindful of several spiritual ofudas and arrows attached to it. She looked upwards and she could see many others just like it, outlining the fields. She touched the pole gently mindful of her fingers as to not disturb the protective barrier. She pulled her energy forward in a soft blue glow and fortified its standing before stepping away. She felt its strength boost adding to its fortification with her blue light dancing amongst the other colors. Ororo felt the oncoming presence of the miko and the inu Prince coming and she waited politely to be welcomed. She paused in question as demonic energy prodded at her in a nervous manner.

"Pharaoh Ororo!" Kagome yelled happily waving her hand in the air and riding in the arms of her companion. Inuyasha jumped and landed close enough to let Kagome down onto the dirt pathway so that she could walk over. Ororo opened her arms wide and naturally the two women gave each other a tight embrace in greeting, quite shocking the hanyou as such behavior wasn't natural to Japanese society.

Ororo reached to touch Kagome's face affectionately taking note of her tired eyes. Dark circles were staring to take shape underneath vibrant browns and her radiant smile. "I've received all of your letters High Priestess Kagome. I'm so pleased the attacks have lessened to some degree. We must speak as I have letters for you to sign and knowledge to share." She responded with warmth. Ororo's sapphires looked her over searching for any injuries. She went into a pause not liking what she was seeing. Her mouth stretched into a thin line of concern. Kagome seemed healthy but upon closer inspection she saw minor features that many wouldn't have noticed. Most importantly, there were expected features that were lacking from the newly mated woman.

Ororo carefully studied her from the roots of her hair down to where her neck disappeared into her miko robes searching for clues. Ororo squinted her eyes a bit to see Inuyasha's mark shaded darkly on the slightly tanned skin of her shoulder. Her mind started to work as she continued to look at the mark. Ororo's eyes widened before looking to Inuyasha searching his body as well for answers. Her magic spiked and delicately roamed over him thoughtfully. She studied Inuyasha for a minute catching Kagome's attention. Kagome opened her mouth to say something, but Ororo held up her hand to silence her. She let Kagome go and quickly walked up to Inuyasha analyzing him carefully with her crystal gaze and aura.

"What you looking at Lady!" Inuyasha yelled in annoyance stepping back away from her slowly but closer to his mate. His nose moved smelling the scent of his brother all over her due to the fur surrounding her in its heavy essence. "And you reek of my brother!"

Ororo quickly reached out her hand and touched his face firmly capturing his chin between her thumb and her index finger in a strong grip. The pelt tilted off Ororo's shoulders a bit from the quick motion but somehow clung itself to her body. Her eyes flickered to Kagome who stepped forward angrily but didn't do anything. Kagome gasped, spiking her energy in warning towards her. Ororo paid her no mind but instead tilted the Inu's face to the side and back again. His clawed hands came up to grip her hand but she swatted his hand away with her other hand quickly. Her face sat in a grim expression as she looked him over carefully. She muttered to herself in Arabic, using her other hand to touch his features running from his eyes to his neck. She suddenly let go and looked to Kagome with concern pulling Sesshomaru's fur back tightly around her. "You were supposed to attack me, Kagome." She stated bluntly looking to Kagome directly.

"What?" Kagome questioned looking to her ridiculously. "Attack you? Why would I-"

"I just grabbed your mate in a highly inappropriate manner. I am not a relative nor am I pack. You should have attacked me. That is instinctive in mates across the lands. Regardless of my friendship with you, you have a bond with your mate that trumps our relationship. By natural law, you should have attacked me. Just like if I was mated and you tried to touch my mate, your head would be over the field by now." She explained pointing in the distance. "Regardless of your human nature, your newly developed instincts should have kicked in to stand with your demon mate and think later. Did Inuyasha not tell you these things? Did he not tell you; your mate mark means trouble?" She stated trying to get a glimpse of it again on her shoulder.

Inuyasha lowered his ears towards his skull and a growl erupted from his throat at being called out. They had talked about it for months and it was torture to see it on her skin. Its dark features on Kagome's skin spoke of something horribly wrong. His instincts were always driving him up the wall to keep her near and protect her but from what he didn't know. It was painful to be too far from Kagome unlike before in the past when they first mated. Instinct guided him in the proper handling of his mate but it had only gone so far. He knew something horrific was happening but he didn't know what. He even swallowed his pride to ask Miroku, Sango, and other demons he knew only to come back with nothing more than assumptions as no one had ever seen such a reaction from a mating mark.

Ororo could feel his demonic energy spike dangerously now but Inuyasha did not attack her. She didn't feel it on her skin but rather against her face. She looked to Kagome watching her response to her distressed mate but was alarmed as Kagome simply stood still with uncertainty. His aura spiked again harshly but she felt the pelt tighten around her on its own. Sesshomaru's pelt shifted to cover her protectively. Ororo found herself looking down at the pelt and smirking at it like many times during her journey as it came to her rescue. "Sneaky dog." She muttered running her fingers through the pelt tenderly and walking towards their usual meeting area inside the formal building. "Come. Both of you. We must get to the bottom of this and cure this ailment you have as soon as possible." Inuyasha and Kagome shared glances and muttered argumentatively between them. Ororo could feel their fears and uncertainties rise in the atmosphere as she led them onward walking quickly with a serious expression on her face.

Miroku and Sango were waiting outside and she waved cordially before walking up the wooden steps leading to the formal gathering space. Shippo came bounding up as well from the pathway leading to Kaede's. They too followed up the steps, but Ororo stopped them with her gaze. "Please, I will explain later but what I wish to share is for the eyes and ears of only Kagome and Inuyasha." She explained as she was sure no rightful demon would like their personal business to be shared without permission. And she didn't know how much had been shared with anyone. "Do not think me rude but this is a very private matter." Sango stepped forward with her hands going to her hips and opened her mouth to respond but Kagome shook her head. "Please guys. We promise to explain later. She's going to help us with my mark." Kagome explained.

Understanding passed through Miroku as he reached for his wife's hand and directed her dragging form back down the road to their home to wait to be summoned. Shippo sneakily bounced upwards but Inuyasha reached for his tail, lifting him to eye level. "Where do you think you're goin?"

Shippo visibly sweat dropped at having been caught before he found himself being dropped on the pathway outside of the meeting hut. "You can come too when we're done." Kagome offered affectionately for the kit. Shippo stood hesitantly watching Kagome rush inside after the foreign Queen who smelled a lot like Sesshomaru.

Ororo quickly sat down on a few cushions, pulling off her bag from around her to get comfortable. Urgency picked upon her brain watching Kagome tend to the fire pit, coaxing it to life. A few embers later and Inuyasha sat down at her side glaringly with gradient pink rimming his eyes. His mind and instincts were clashing unable to conclude of the appropriate measures to take. On one hand he felt challenged as if he was incapable of providing for his mate. But on the other, he held some level of trust with the woman to help things get better. Kagome huddled close to his side holding his hand and leaning into him not knowing what else to do. Of course, her demanding nature struck a few chords with the others but she cared not as this was a serious situation and she had no time for hurt feelings or egos. But this was highly important, and she was positive Kagome's predicament was a key in the puzzle of her vision.

Ororo reflected on the vision she had where Kagome was suddenly by her side in her sister's place. Her thoughts turned over and blazed much like the embers in the middle of the fire pit. In her dream, Kagome's mark was black on her pale diseased skin. The veins that stretched around the now jagged grey mate's mark were raised and swollen. "How could I have missed it?" She muttered to herself while thinking of possible cures and ingredients she had on hand. Inuyasha's growled his displeasure as her mutterings increased. "How long have you had that color on your mark, Kagome?" Ororo asked getting straight to the matter.

Kagome looked to Inuyasha in contemplation visibly upset at Inuyasha's growing animosity. Kagome's anxiety levels were high making her mate severely territorial and protective. He was feeding off her scent and her concerns were growing as she continued to see his anger displayed upon his face creating a vicious cycle. "A year and a few months ago it were grey." She explained looking to Ororo doing her best to bring forth every ounce of information. "Then a few months ago it became this dark color, and it hurts at times." She confessed rubbing it with her hands. "We've tried remedies and treatments, but nothing is working." She explained as her hand came over to rub Inuyasha's gently.

"And you both didn't know about this?" Ororo asked calmly rubbing her fingers through the fine hairs of mokomoko. She looked to Inuyasha unafraid of his growing temper and irritated growls. She didn't want him to feel attacked, but she needed to know how they got here.

"No!" Inuyasha barked aggressively. "It's not like I live around too many demons!"

"And how could we?" Kagome but him, attempting to calm her mate. "We both weren't raised around demons to know this existed." Kagome defended. "We asked other mikos, demons, and anyone else that we trusted and knew but none could tell us anything about this. They said that marks didn't turn colors like this. They shaded to the color representing the line of their mate and that's it. At most they were red and inflamed for various reasons."

Ororo nodded. "Yes, but mating marks can also communicate threats as well such as illness, threats to your bond, or as a way to sense danger around your children."

"But…I'm not sick." Kagome said as she looked to Inuyasha. "A-and we don't have any kids and we're together often. N-nothing has happened." Kagome explained fighting the blush that wanted to settle on her cheeks at discussing something so personal. She wanted children and they talked about it. Both agreed now wasn't the time with everything still so shaky around the lands and with them having to leave to help nearby villages so often with the attacks.

"That doesn't answer my question entirely. Demon mates know of their mate marks. How is it that the initial condition of yours was overlooked?" She asked bluntly looking between the two. "Did you not have the Inu King to consult with you or your pack mates at the citadel?" Ororo looked between the two watching their expressions display anything but pleased at the mention. She cared for them both but to overlook long term signs of problems regarding mate markings was foolish and unacceptable. She then remembered something about Inuyasha's past that they shared with her. They didn't share too much as of course they weren't exactly close at the time and most importantly it really wasn't any of her business. But now it was now. She looked at their red faces from their own anger and embarrassment combined with the fire light casting its fiery glow.

"No one taught you about your Inu instincts and mating?" Ororo asked breathlessly pulling the pelt closely around her knowing she was going to be here for a while. Ororo didn't know how to take such a fact of their life. He had a brother…couldn't the Inu King have taught him? But of course, she understood family affairs and knew life's grievances could wedge itself between families…siblings were no exception to the rule. Whatever happened was in the past as far as she knew because the brother's communicated quite well. Well…at least long enough before insults and threats began flying. The nature of their relationship had changed but obviously Inuyasha still didn't feel comfortable asking his brother for help. "We need to fix this." She shifted to open her bag and began digging through its contents. They watched as she pulled out two small, corked vials and a bag of fine gold sand. Her hair hung over her shoulder as she worked mumbling the recipe she needed.

"My instincts are fine." Inuyasha rebuffed, clearly insulted. He felt challenged in his ability to care for his mate and his facial markings began to show as proof of this.

Ororo frowned at him, not stopping her investigation. "No they are not, Prince Inuyasha."

Suddenly Inuyasha was off the ground and had lunged at her. Immediately a flash of blue energy surrounded her and clashed with his sharp claws. His eyes were now red and she cringed a bit feeling the weight of his attack against Sesshomaru's protective barrier. She had learned several things about the pelt that she carried through the weeks including its powerful properties. Ororo trusted in it every time to keep her safe as it had not let her down yet. She stroked the pelt tenderly in appreciation before pushing out with her left hand towards Inuyasha. A gust of wind kicked up and pushed him back to fall in the spot from which he came. Ororo did not want to harm him, but he needed to listen and come to grips with the situation.

"If things were fine Inuyasha, you would not have a mark like this on your mate." She pointed out watching Kagome stand and rush to his side unsure of what to do. Inuyasha made to sit up but Kagome pushed him lightly on his chest to stay put and listen. His hand wrapped around her middle tightly while glaring at Ororo as if she was a threat. "And Kagome you should be trying to claw my eyes out if things were normal." She explained going back to uncorking the bottles at her side and looking at their quality. "To sums things up…that mark on your shoulder is a deadly warning of a process already taking place. Marks of your kind change colors for only two reasons, and both have to do with the safety of their mates and offspring."

"Marks of our kind?" Kagome asked looking to see what she was pulling out and sharing a look with Inuyasha who calmed at that statement. His eyes went to normal and his ears spun towards the woman crouched down over her supplies.

Ororo reached into her bag and took out a wooden mortar and pestle. "I'm not surprised you couldn't find information about a mixed mating mark in your country. In my country Egypt, it is very common for everyone to partner freely with the exception to social standing. There are all kinds of mating marks that do different things based upon the couple. But there are still base affinities that are shared among all mated pairs. Demons mix with humans. Humans mix with hanyous. Hanyous mix with sirens. And so forth and so forth. It doesn't matter. During a mating bond, there is a very specific process that happens regardless of the species of the pair. When two individuals connect, the body and the psyche open to receive energy from the partner and to give its own energy in return. It doesn't matter who you are, what you are, or how you connect…mentally, physically, spiritually… you become linked and energy flows both ways. If it doesn't connect then no mating mark can take place. This is the law of the natural world." She explained now pouring carefully two drops of a blue liquid into the mortar.

Ororo became silent allowing them to process the information. "I forget that your country knows very little about the diversity of mixing pairs and this is my fault for jumping to assumptions. I do apologize as I do not know the nature of your original meeting or your history." She stated stopping to look them in the eyes. Inuyasha turned his head and looked at the wall having calmed down to normalcy somewhat. His ears moved and the muscle in his jaw ticked. "Feh. Keep going." He said while Kagome rubbed his hand affectionately. Ororo nodded now looking into the glass of another vile. She uncorked the vile and out poured three white petals.

"Kagome is a powerful miko and you Prince Inuyasha are a very powerful demon despite being hanyou but to be honest I can't feel the difference when your demonic aura spikes. You share about the same prowess as your brother except yours feels more untamed and rawer. So do not think you being hanyou would cause anything different in the mark. You both accepted each other and thus it is there. If you both didn't, it wouldn't be there."

"Feh…I knew that!" Inuyasha responded.

"Inuyasha…" Kagome chastised before ushgering Ororo along. "So, our bond is fine? Even if I have reiki…we're fine?"

Ororo nodded her head. "Naturally your energy flowed towards her when you first mated Kagome in bed correct?" She asked watching Inuyasha's cheeks turn slightly red at having such a direct question about his sexual escapades thrown at him. "And yours did too?" Ororo looked to Kagome who shared no embarrassment and nodded her head. "And you were able to share moments and do things you obviously couldn't before you mated?" Ororo picked up the pestle and began mushing the ingredients inside the small bowl. "And now…those abilities have stopped, correct?"

Inuyasha remembered when he could communicate with Kagome just through the bond they shared. It had been an amazing discovery that added to their companionship. But, over the past few months he could barely feel anything through it. He reverted to his old habits of finding her with her scent versus the mating mark. At times he would find himself hovering over her because he felt she was at risk or grew agitated because she was too far physically from him.

"In your case, energy has stopped flowing. You both cannot feel the other. Because of your unique mix of energies…you a miko and you an Inu demon…your mark plays by its own rules depending on your natures." Ororo's eyes were milky as her hands hovered over the mixture. "Regardless of if he was a frog and you bird…the process should have flowed naturally. There is only three things to stop this from happening. Either Kagome put a curse on herself to stop the bond, someone else has put a curse to stop the bond, or Kagome is rejecting it. But seeing how you both are responding and the color of the mark…I believe someone has attempted to distort your mating bond."

Kagome gasped and Inuyasha released a growl. "What!" Inuyasha moved Kagome protectively to his side. "No one has touched my mate!" Inuyasha bared his claws with eyes flickering to the skin at Kagome's neck. The inflamed black mark sat there like a slap in the face.

Ororo set the mixture to the side. Her eyes were still opaque in color. "When your mate mark has turned grey this means that ill intent was formed against Kagome. Your mark is signaling to Inuyasha that harm has found you. Kagome's spiritual reiki is tied to your mark so it may have been grey for so long because Kagome is actively fighting whatever or whoever is trying to harm her. Kagome's spiritual energy is communicating to you Inuyasha that she has encountered malicious intent directly. Notice its black in color now." Ororo pointed to Kagome's mark barely visible below the collar of her miko robes. "It means their intent to do you harm had manifested and gotten worst. You feel it Inuyasha but due to your lack of demonic education, you don't know what happened, nor how to combat this, or know what you are looking for. This is dark magic placed on Kagome that is working to fight your youkai energy Inuyasha."

Kagome gasped at this and immediately touched her neck. Her scent grew thick with fear as everything began to fall into place. She looked to see Inuyasha's eyes hidden from her by his heavy bangs. She knew the look well and immediately reached up to his jaw to soothe him. He didn't respond so she pulled at the hair that hung along the side of his face to catch his attention. His eyes were changing, and she could feel his anger rising. "Don't do that!" She stated strongly shaking now in rage. "We are going to beat this and figure out together who this person is."

"That is what I hope to find out." Ororo stated blowing over the bowl with a single breath of air. "But I'm impressed. Usually, the mate of the infected would be exhausted and incredibly ill to the point of being bedridden because it blocks the flow of natural bonded energy. You both are more powerful than you give yourself credit. You just need education like us all. I myself had learned things I would never have obtained had I not traveled and was open to the process of learning." She supplied to them genuinely empathizing with them.

Inuyasha's hold on Kagome tightened even more if possible and he pulled her closer to him where she sat now in between his legs. He was silent now which unnerved both women. Kagome could only offer her love in that moment as she wasn't even sure how to calm him when he was like this without making him grab Tessaiga's hilt by his waist.

"Do not fret you two. I will help you as best as I can. But you need to speak to your brother about Inu traits and instinctual behavior as I have no knowledge of this other than what I have read for my own gain. I'm sure knowing Inu specific responses would have helped you quite a lot." She explained honestly and shrugging with a smirk knowing that the information she gained was to be used to tease him.

Ororo reached for the bag of yellow sand and took a pinch of it. She carefully sprinkled a little into the mixture and then took a little bit to sprinkle on the floor. Her blue eyes flashed from the light of the fire as she moved the sand around forming a symbol with her hands. She set the bowl in the middle and muttered a few words while resting her index finger gently on the edge of the bowl. She tapped the mortar's edge three times and suddenly the top of the mixture caught on fire. A bright blue flame danced on top, glowing brightly in color. Ororo removed her finger and watched it with a smile. "What I have made here is a potion from my mother's repertoire to break this curse that was placed on you. But before I destroy it, I need to connect with you Kagome to trace the dark energy back to the person who did this."

Kagome nodded and made to move but Inuyasha pulled her back to him insistently. Ororo could see his beastly nature was just beneath the surface. The jagged marks on his cheeks had become darker in color and the energy in the room shifted. Ororo immediately stood up and slowly crept towards the pair with her bowl. She muttered a few words and the flame blew out right before them. Her outreached hand told Kagome to stay where she was. Ororo immediately slid off Sesshomaru's pelt to show that she had good intentions and didn't need protection. She picked up the inflamed bowl and took a sip from it to show it was nonpoisonous.

"Do not worry. I will help you both, but you must trust me." She pleaded as her eyes went from Kagome's round pleading ones to Inuyasha's angry yet frightened ones. She reached for Inuyasha's hand and slowly peeled it off Kagome's stomach. "I will protect her with my life, Inuyasha."

Inuyasha scanned her face and sniffed the air. His hesitation still his hand before he nodded. "If something happens…I'll kill you."

Ororo daringly placed his large palm around her own thin neck feeling him tighten his grip. "I mean you both no harm or ill intent. Should you feel threatened in anyway Inuyasha, do what you need to do." She sanctioned strongly staring her milky orbs into Inuyasha's bleeding red pools. His sharp claws dug into her skin at the base of her neck warningly. A sting of pain was felt as her blood dripped down his claws onto his hands. Ororo did not break eye contact as she handed him the bowl to drink with his other free hand.

"This is called Takulam. It is a potion to restore the balance in one's body. I have prayed over it and it has caught fire which means it successfully has a bit of my magic to undo the harm that has been done." Ororo explained while reaching for Kagome's hand. "I'm going to search for the original transaction that started this and then you are to immediately drink the Takulam upon my command. But obviously for my own safety I cannot touch your mark as this will upset Inuyasha and most likely my head will be disconnected from my body." Kagome nodded frantically and watched Inuyasha place his nose to the potion in the bowl while Ororo took her right hand gently. Ororo turned her palm over and traced the lines that she found. Her index finger paused and rested on the lifeline while tapping it three times like she did the potion. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath reaching inside of herself for strength. The fire in the pit waved frantically and had jumped in size before resting into a steady flicker.

Kagome leaned back and rested her head against Inuyasha's chest. His heartbeat was calming as he swallowed the mixture. It beat strong and she desired to kiss the spot where the skin stretched to protect it. She felt terrible for allowing someone to get so close to her and she knew he wasn't taking this well. Inuyasha was a great mate, and she would have no other. They had come too far to be pulled apart now. She wouldn't allow it. They were in this relationship together and would roll with the punches as one. If this meant setting time to truly learn about the rules of their relationship, then she had no problem in doing so. Ororo had said that their bond was unique so of course no one is to be blamed for anything. They simply needed time and opportunity to learn. Kagome looked down at Ororo's hands that connected with hers. Her hands felt warm against her skin. Positive vibrations rolled through her fingers and up her body. Ororo's eyes opened and slowly she pulled back her hands. She motioned for Inuyasha to pass Kagome the bowl to drink as well. Kagome took the bowl from her mate's hands feeling a familiar prodding on the edge of her senses. Her mark was growing in temperature almost begging to be touched by her mate. She drank greedily from the bowl, not needed any prompting to do so.

Ororo held her head in her hands and gasped as she sorted the images and thoughts. Inuyasha's hold on her throat kept her steady from tipping as her body grew slack. Images and dark intentions raced through her mind quickly as she stood surrounded by black mass. An evil foreboding feeling crawled up her skin and called her to look around. Slowly, she turned and to see a bald man standing in blue priest robes with symbols she had only seen once on the main continent. His skin was tanned obviously having experienced days in the sun. The harsh lines that marred his face spoke of a difficult life. He looked so pleasant and serene staring at her. In his hands were a long silver staff and on his back was a bag. His mouth moved muttering Japanese that surrounded her and bounced off the walls. She watched him walk forward and smile brightly to her. Upon closer look she could see the false kindness in his eyes. She looked to her side where Kagome was standing very closely to her strapped with her bow and arrows looking at the man cautiously. Ororo saw her mark and it was a pretty shade of pink resting in the crook of her neck. The man started to speak and his words were garbled. Kagome responded and took a step back.

"We are fine here. This village and the surrounding villages are demon and human friendly. We do not need extermination." She spoke with finality and base in her tone.

Ororo watched as the man nodded and simply gave his apologies. He offered to give her a few ofudas just in case feigning to reach for his bag off of his back. He dropped his staff in the process and naturally Kagome bent to help him. He also dropped his bag right before her expelling false words of apologies from his lips. Its contents came out spilled onto the earthy pathway. Kagome bent to help him collect his things. Ororo could see folded papers in his bag; sinister glowing red energy bled from their ridges. Kagome's reiki arose to purify with haste to the offensive energy. Kagome's hand moved to touch the papers but his hand was too fast. Ororo felt a chill up her spine as his hand made contact with hers. Dread and ice pooled in her veins and pumped to her neck so quickly and loud. Darkness crept inside of her at an alarming rate that was fueled by outrageous animosity and disgust. Terrible things whispered in her ear regarding demons reminding her of her previous encounter with the familiar phenomenon.

Ororo's eyes stretched in recognition of who he was and his desires. The ancient Egyptian lettering rolled over her hand. The manipulation the monk cast was weak and she could feel Kagome's energy spike aggressively. Demonic energy so strong pulsed inside of her that she tilted from the force swaying on her feet. It reminded her so much of Sesshomaru but this energy was something else. Kagome obviously had felt it as well as she snatched back her hands and stood immediately. Both Kagome and Ororo reached for their necks at the same time while eyeing the monk with distrust. Immediately, Inuyasha came running behind them with tense muscles and chaotic energy expelling. His body and bone structure bulked sensing danger and a fight. She looked at the items he packed away frantically gathering his things out of fear of Inuyasha's arrival. His eyes narrowed at Inuyasha with a deep burning hatred that didn't go unnoticed by the half demon.

"Coward!" Ororo yelled out loud to him. He took a hold of his bag hugging it securely to himself forgetting about the ofudas that he offered. Inuyasha pulled Kagome protectively behind his body blocking his mate from physical danger. Inuyasha's shoulder brushed against her own and his instincts began to rise. Markings appeared on his face and his claws came out desiring to kill the monk. Inuyasha let out a most frightful snarl clearly becoming combative. The monk turned around and began to walk back into the surrounding darkness saying nothing else to the pair. Inuyasha took a step forward to kill him but Kagome reached out and shook her head.

Ororo stepped forward stretching out her aura towards the monk's quickly vanishing image. She would help Kagome purify the remaining curse lingering in her system and she would also not waste this moment. Ororo now had a face and a reiki sample from her enemy who knew nothing of Mother Nature and her natural processes. The monk left quite a bit of himself behind to track. If she stretched herself she could find him…and finish this. Ororo pulled every ounce of power inside of her to stretch and follow him into the darkness. Grey clouds formed above her crackling with thunder and hot lightening. It raged in a storm swirling around her growing in temperament expanding about her and lighting the darkness. Her hands ignited into bright hot white lightening that bounced around her body. Her hair picked up defying gravity as if floated around her. The edges of her white dress lifted and fluttered about as she pulled her hands wider apart from the other expanding her power. Her veins burned with righteousness as images of the poor people that suffered from this holy abomination's hands. Her vision replayed images of her own people running frantically to escape and children cowering with tears in their eyes hoping to hide from the impending doom.

"You will die today!" She yelled pulling her arms wider apart snapping the energy she built. White light burned from the inside of her core and exploded out of her body fighting the edges of the darkness that surrounded her. Inuyasha and Kagome vanished leaving her energy to follow after the coward that hid behind shadows and use of magic that wasn't his. She stretched with her all might to find him and if he was close by…to smite him where he stood. The remaining residue felt upon her aimed towards Kagome spoke volumes making his malicious intentions quite clear. Her spirit flew over the land of the Inu Kings and even beyond until she found what she who she was looking for. Her chest heaved from the energy she expelled but she wanted him gone and done away with. She channeled her energy and locked in onto the reiki signature. Lightening bolted so fiercely that the ground beneath her shook. She blew an exhausted breath out having not used so much of energy since she left Egypt and closed her eyes.
