When Dewey woken up to a smell of something burnt, he didn't think much of it until after he rose and sat up, he noticed what or should we who was causing the smell. His eyes widen a bit worried about what was going to be extra crispy this time. He ran out of his and brother's room head straight towards the kitchen.
There, he found said older brother already wearing his day clothes, having a skillet over a big flame. A bigger flame then what was normally on a stove. At that moment, the blue clad duck pushed his big brother back a little. Ignoring, the elder duck asking 'Hey?' in a tad of an annoyed tone, Dewey turned the knob and shutting the stove down.
He glared at his sibling who was glaring back at him before questioning. "What are you doing?'
His let a silent breath. "As the oldest, most distinguished older brother, I was cooking a welcome breakfast for our cousin twice removed."
"Seriously?! You don't remember the last time you tried to cook something?"
"I do remember. I cooked chicken fettucine alfredo pasta with perfectly seasoned French fries as a side for mom, since it was Mother's Day."
"You also set the stove on fire including the ceiling. We had to stay with mom and Uncle Donald for three weeks until the place to be repaired."
"Can I still do the seasonings?"
Dewey glared at his brother in red, basically telling him 'Don't you dare.' Before questioning "How is that a person with four arms can create so much fire in the kitchen?"
At that moment, the duck in blue saw that his older twin tucked his bottom arms into himself with a sadden face before sighing. "Fine."
He knew that his brother wanted to make this a great first day for their cousin, epically after Scrooge died not so long ago and being put into an orphanage for five months, but Huey can't cook without setting something on fire, making some alien smile looking thing, making it way too over seasoned, or any combination for the three. The last thing they need is even more depressing duckling.
"Just go make sure that Llewellyn's bedroom is all ready to go?"
As Huey head off with his head hanging, Dewey inspected the damage. Nothing was burnt other than the bottom of the skillet. That was good. The duck in blue looked up at the wall clock to see that it says five fifty. Of course, his elder brother would up at this time. Huey was more of mourning person than anyone else in their family except their uncle Donald who lived with them. Maybe that's where Huey got it from?
Since he was up already, he might as well get breakfast started. Dewey cooked some pancakes with eggs. It wasn't too fancy, but there weren't any burns. He then let it cool for a bit before sticking it into the refrigerator for later. Now he has to keep his brother company until their cousin arrives.
He walked out of the kitchen and head to Llewellyn's new bedroom. The duck in blue took one look inside to see Huey wasn't inside. The brother in the red clothes seemed to be in their bedroom. Figuring he's going have to get of his sleep wear, Dewey head over to his and his brother's bedroom.
There he spotted his older twin searching through their closet.
"What are doing?" He questioned with a raised brow.
"Oh, just trying to find my old Junior Woodchuck Gudie book. I was thinking having our cousin join the Junior Wood Chucks. It would teach him some useful skills."
Feeling a wave of concern for his family members first interaction, Dewey walked over and put a hand on his brother's shoulder, saying "Look, I get that you want the best for our cousin, but he's going need time to get use this place, us. He's probably still morning Uncle Scrooge's death.
Huey gave a sigh with sadden face before giving a node.
As much as he agreed that his brother in red can be hard to handle, he knew that Huey's heart was in the right place, after all he was their cousin's legal guardian now. Ever since, Launchpad blurted out Llewellyn had become an orphaned to Huey. Dewey would naturally token up Legal custody of their cousin if he was told first, but his eldest brother was too swift on that and gotten the papers signed. As much as it did annoy the younger twin, he still was going to keep an on both of them.
"Say, let's play some word crosses or ... something while we wait for Llewellyn?" He asked.
Huey gave a node again this time changing his frown to a soft smile.
"Good. Now let me get out of my pajamas?"
