Beginning A/N: This one's a little late… okay, it's very late, but I decided to write this story as a birthday present to myself since this idea seemed like too good of one to pass up. I did a Nuzlocke to base this story on, and here it is for you all to enjoy. I'll explain real quick the rules for this particular Nuzlocke before we begin the story.

- If a Pokemon faints, it dies.

- Nickname your Pokemon so you get more attached to them.

- Can catch any electric type I want.

- Dynamax Dens are treated as separate encounters.

- Can catch the same number of Pokemon per route depending on the number of badges you have.

Beginning A/N Continued: Got it? Even the new readers? Okay, then let's get started! This story is definitely one that I'm quite proud to be writing. But just a quick disclaimer within the disclaimer, but I DO NOT KNOW WHEN THIS STORY IS GOING TO GET UPDATED! I'm being serious! Any reviews telling me to hurry up and update will be swiftly deleted! Okay? Okay, let's begin the story. Thank you for understanding, and happy belated birthday to me.

Disclaimer: I don't own Pokemon or Star Wars: The Clone Wars!

Prologue

Within her and her master's shared quarters in the Jedi Temple, Padawan Ahsoka Tano looked up at the ceiling with lifeless eyes as she reflected on how she ended up in this situation.

Let me give you some context.

So, several months back, Ahsoka and her master, Anakin Skywalker, were dispatched to aid a planet that was being invaded by the Separatist faction. Count Dooku was among them and the Jedi Council thought that this would be a good time to finally capture the Sith Lord and bring him to justice. And maybe, just maybe, finally reveal the identity of the true Lord of the Sith and where they were hiding. It was too good of an opportunity to pass up, and so, Anakin Skywalker and his Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, were sent on a mission to intercept and capture Dooku and bring him back to Coruscant for questioning. Alongside the Mirialan Jedi Master, Luminara Unduli and her own Padawan, a fellow Mirialan known as Barriss Offee.

The Jedi and their Clones arrived on the planet and didn't have to wait long before engaging the enemies. While Anakin and Luminara went after Dooku, they had instructed their Padawans to lead the troops and hold off the enemy droids. All was going well as they continued to push back the enemy. However, as they did, they failed to account for one thing.

The entire battlefield had been covered in land mines!

Many Clone Troopers had been unlucky and stepped on a mine which blew up and killed them along with several of their brothers in one shot almost instantly! Ahsoka and Barriss had managed to lessen the casualties, but not by much, by using the Force to seek out the mines and rip them out of the ground before throwing them at the remaining droids and tanks like makeshift grenades. This helped thin enemy numbers a little, but they were still hard-pressed just to survive.

Ahsoka became so focused on deflecting blaster bolts and ensuring the survival of as many clones as possible that she didn't notice that she was about to step on a landmine. All she could hear as she was pushed out of the way was Barriss's cry of "Ahsoka, no!", before her senses were rocked by an explosion. Ahsoka hadn't been hurt too badly, though her montrals had been ringing from the loud bang going off so close to her. But when her vision stopped blurring and she could see clearly, she looked to where Barriss had pushed her out of the way.

And she immediately wished that she hadn't.

The mission had been considered both a success and a failure. They had succeeded in driving off the Separatist forces, but failed once again to capture Count Dooku. Add in to the fact that out of the eight thousand clones that had been sent on this mission only eight hundred lived to fight another day. And Barriss? She had it worse.

She had multiple third degree burns from the explosion, and the concussive force had also blown off her left arm at the shoulder, both of her legs were also blown off, one above the knee and the other below, not to mention a few broken ribs and bruised organs and you've got yourself the world's most insane version of Operation. Luminara was especially unhappy with what happened to her Padawan and blamed what happened solely on Ahsoka. Even though the poor girl had just been following orders.

Ahsoka had been pretty much catatonic during the whole trip back to Coruscant and even during the mission report with the Council who decided to punish Ahsoka by putting her on medical duty in the Halls of Healing for several months. She hadn't really been paying attention, though, as her mind was swarming with guilt and voices that kept telling her that she should have been the victim of that land mine, not Barriss. That she should have died instead of all those clones. And she knew that the surviving clones all thought the same thing. Once they had gotten back to their shared quarters Anakin had tried to assure his Padawan that what happened on that mission wasn't her fault, but his words didn't seem to reach her.

He wanted to do more for her, but the council needed her for another long-term mission, and so he had to leave soon after.

And so, here we are.

Ahsoka turned her head as she heard her comm unit beep. She wanted to ignore it and let it ring, but knowing her luck it was probably somebody important. So, she picked it up and answered after the third ring. She was right about it being someone important as a hologram of Obi-Wan Kenobi appeared.

"Padawan. The council requests your presence immediately." said Obi-Wan.

Ahsoka grimaced as she glanced sideways before saying, "I'm on my way, Master.".

That was another unfortunate thing that changed about Ahsoka. She no longer referred to others by those nicknames that she liked to give to those who were close to her. Especially her own master, who was really the closest thing to a father or an older brother that she would ever have. Second only to Plo-Koon, who she's known since she was very young. She now only refers to Anakin or any other higher ranked Jedi by 'Master', and Clone Trooper such as Rex she just called by their rank during their brief encounters. Rex had confided in Obi-Wan about this concerning change in behavior. He misses the days when Ahsoka would act like that snippy little Padawan that they all used to know.

Not many others within the Jedi order would admit to it so openly, but they all missed the old Ahsoka.

The war changed everyone.

They just wished that she wasn't one of them. Because the way she was changing wasn't for the better.

"How are you doing, Ahsoka?" Obi-Wan asked, clearly concerned.

If he was being honest, Ahsoka is the closest thing to a grandchild that he would ever have, and it hurt him to see her in such a state. From what he understood, she was avoiding places with people, only staying around the med bay long enough to do her work and keeping her interactions with patients to the absolute minimum. She tended to avoid Luminara especially. He also heard from Cody, one of the Clone Commanders that he's leading, that Ahsoka doesn't appear to have been eating. Oh sure, she tried going to the mess hall to join the clones of the 501st, or… what's left of them, at least, in the mess, but she was getting the cold shoulder from just about all of them. Then Rex said something that he shouldn't have, and she just left without eating anything. Rex had tried to apologize for what he said as soon as he realized what he'd done, but she had already left before he could utter a single syllable. And Obi-Wan could see through the hologram that Ahsoka is becoming dangerously underweight as a result. Her skin was also turning a light pink color, which is very pale for her.

All of this isolation, both from the clones and Jedi alike, was not good for Ahsoka for a multitude of reasons. One of which was her own biological needs.

Ahsoka is a part of a mostly carnivorous humanoid species known as the Togruta. They're highly social and live in close-knit communities and family groups that thrive on interactions with others and having social bonds. Togruta are also pack hunters preferring to flank their victims with stealth, speed, strategic thinking, and secrecy, but they're not helpless on their own. When alone, a single Togruta will mostly target small game that they can easily kill with their long fangs. And if this war has taught Obi-Wan anything, it's that Togruta are clever sons o' guns! They also NEED to have social interactions. Family, close friends, even just simple acquaintences, they need those bonds. It's a biological need of the species.

A Togruta who has been socially isolated is as good as dead.

Ahsoka waved him off and said, "I'm fine, Master Kenobi. Just tell the council that I'm on my way. Please.".

And before he could say anything else, she hung up.

Sighing from mental and emotional exhaustion, Ahsoka put on her boots, clipped her Lightsaber to her belt, and started making her way to the Council Chamber. But not before grabbing and putting on her Jedi cloak which was too big for her. But that was fine by her. It helped her feel unseen by others in the temple. Right now, the last thing she wanted was to interact with others more than she had to.

Fortunately, she arrived at the door to the council chambers without running into anyone else and was quickly let in when she told the guards that she had been summoned.

To Ahsoka's surprise, this seemed to be one of the rare times when all members of the council were gathered in person for a meeting. She could only assume that they were discussing something that didn't involve her before she had been called.

"You called for me, Masters?" Ahsoka inquired with a bow.

"Yes, Padawan. In light of recent events, we have decided to send you into the city to perform a small mission." said Mace Windu.

This actually filled Ahsoka with a sense of relief. This way, she could get out of the temple and be away from everyone else for a little while. Something that hadn't slipped the council members, though they chose not to say anything.

"We've received numerous unconfirmed reports of a drug ring operating in the city. Witnesses say that members of this drug cartel come out at night and distribute illegal and highly addictive drugs to unwary civilians." Ki-Adi Mundi explained.

"Your assignment is to infiltrate this drug cartel, gather evidence of their activities, and bring it back to us. If possible, shut down their operations." Mace instructed.

"Yes, masters. It will be done." Ahsoka said.

But as she turned around and started to leave, she heard Luminara quietly snarl a single sentence that stopped her in her tracks.

"Don't screw this one up!"

Slowly, Ahsoka turned around and locked eyes with Luminara, the older Mirialan woman flinching at the look in the younger girl's eyes. It was at that moment she knew that that was the straw that broke the bantha's back.

"You think I wanted that to happen?" Ahsoka asked, her voice quiet.

But you didn't need super hearing to hear the edge of rage in her voice.

"Do you actually believe that I wanted Barriss to get blown up taking an explosion that was meant for me? That I meant for all of those troopers to be killed just so we could catch Count Dooku only for him to get away again?" Ahsoka further questioned, her voice steadily growing louder.

"Please, Padawan, you need to calm down-" Mace started to say, only for Yoda to interrupt him.

"No. Let her speak. Wish to hear what she has to say, I do. Needs to vent, she does."

Mace and the other masters didn't necessarily agree that Ahsoka should be giving in to her anger, but conceded that perhaps this was long overdue. Obi-Wan especially knew that Ahsoka was keeping a lot of negativity bottled up with no safe method of releasing it. Only now had those feelings finally boiled over.

"Let me tell you something, Luminara Unduli," Luminara couldn't hide the wince at the venom in Ahsoka's voice when she said her name. "I did not ask Barriss to push me out of the way and save my life when I stepped on that Separatist land mine! And I certainly didn't ask to be put in charge of soldiers on a mission that would have inevitably got them killed! If I could go back and prevent all of those deaths, hell, prevent Barriss from being crippled and all but dead, I would! But I can't! I already KNOW what should have happened on that mission!"

By this point, Ahsoka was practically screaming as she fell to her knees, fresh tears falling from her eyes as she began to punch the ground due to her grief. The masters showed varying degrees of sorrow and sympathy for the young girl. She had been suffering in silence all this time and nobody had done anything to try and help her. Master Windu made a mental note to suggest having Ahsoka start attending therapy. She definitely needs it.

"Damn it, it should have been me… it should have been me…! IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN ME!" screamed Ahsoka.

She punched the ground hard enough to leave a small crater that last time. By the end of it, she was breathing hard, emotionally exhausted from venting like that. She got back up and immediately bolted from the council chambers to get away from everyone, not wanting to put up with the judgmental stares that were sure to be thrown her way.

The Council just sat in silence at what just happened. Nobody could really say anything. They knew that Ahsoka was dealing with depression and emotional damage along with possible survivor's guilt, but they didn't think it had gotten this serious. Some of the more rational members of the council concluded that part of Ahsoka's outburst was due to her own Togrutan heritage. The species was known to be easily angered.

Obi-Wan couldn't help but feel that he should really have a talk with Ahsoka and see if he can help her.

***To Be Continued…***

Ending A/N: And that's it for this chapter! I hope that you like the start to this new story. I don't know how often I'll be able to update this one, but when I do, I'll try to make sure that the updates are at least five thousand words long, not including author's notes. I also know that the pacing's not that good for this chapter, so I'll try to improve that in future chapters. Please be sure to leave a review, as they are the lifeblood of my stories. I'm not kidding when I say that without reviews, I don't know if you all like a story or not and won't be able to continue writing it. But anyway, thanks for reading and I'll see you in the next update, my hatchlings!
