My Hero Academia: The First Day
Today was a very special day for Toga Himiko. It was the last time she'd wake up in this small room and get dressed in it. As she changed into a set of clothes she'd been gifted, it was the last time she'd have to wear this dumb prison outfit. Once her escort arrived, it was the last time she'd have to walk these halls, to see the prison cells arrayed around her with familiar faces. It was the last time she'd be brought into room 105 to have one on one chats. Usually they were with her therapist, who was very pleased with her progress, a sentiment Himiko shared. This time it was with her parole officer, who was explaining all the dos and don'ts of her new life.
She half listened, she'd been over all this before, and they'd given her a pdf on the new phone she'd been gifted. Neither the clothes nor the phone were issued by the justice system, but instead by her soon to be roommate and, arguably her new warden. This one was much easier on the eyes though. She knew all the items had probably been carefully gone through before being handed to her, not that there was anything to worry about. Her new warden would never do anything to break the law or risk others' safety.
Once all the explain-y bits were done, the final bit of business was a new start. Specifically, the start of the ankle monitoring bracelet fastened to her left ankle. "Hello again, old friend," she said with a smile as they did so. It wasn't the first time she'd seen this piece of technology. Due to the nature of her Quirk, they'd needed to make and test something special. Support tech Hatsume Mei had come in several times and Himiko had sat quietly and transformed when she'd told her to transform, under heavy security, of course. It had taken some tinkering, but now she had an ankle bracelet that responded to her Quirk and changed size to stay snug regardless of how she transformed. She wasn't expressly forbidden from transforming while under parole, that's why she had the bracelet to monitor her location, but considering one of the rules was not to drink blood except that provided to her by the program or her warden, she might as well be forbidden from transforming.
That last stipulation had been a huge argument in crafting the terms of her release but had been backed by both her new warden and her therapist. It had mostly just been a bunch of inflexible assholes needing to work through their own issues while she tested the bounds of her newfound patience. The world was changing in its treatment of prisoners, villains, and general usage of Quirks like hers that offended typical taste. She was the volunteer test subject of a lot of these procedures and policies, but it was something she was glad to do. Even if it wasn't always a pleasant process. She was used to things not being pleasant for her.
Himiko found herself politely ushered out of the prison and onto a bus that took her to a train station that took her to her new home. Unsupervised even. She wasn't stupid, this was all a test. Would she actually uphold her end of the bargain and make it to her destination, or would they need to track her down, lock her up and throw away the key? There were definitely a few people in that camp. It was tempting to take a side trip, to see how long it took for anyone to catch her. Or more likely; to see how long it took her to avoid capture and shake their pursuit. Unfortunately for them, Toga Himiko was a new woman, and she had no plans to screw it up. She'd been looking forward to this new life for so long, she would do anything to keep it. Even follow dumb, judge-y rules.
Her thoughts raced in excitement with each step to her new home. She'd been locked up for most of her twenties and was only just now getting out. Considering that she'd been a lead member of the League of Villains and had a few murders on her record, she guessed she was pretty lucky to be here. Soon she'd get to see the woman who she'd recently only seen through glass or in supervised talks around a table. Her biggest supporter. Of course, she'd also seen her new warden on TV, it was hard to miss news of the new up and coming heroes who had started what was quickly one of the most famous Hero Agencies in Japan. The New Reformation agency featured already famous young heroes like The Hot-Cold Hero Shoto, Superpowered Hero Deku, The Explosion Hero Dynamight, and of course the Zero Gravity Hero Uravity. If Himiko had been allowed to own Uravity merch in prison, she would have. As was, she'd needed to settle just for watching all her interviews, appearances in commercials and news footage.
Himiko's mind was set ablaze just by the thought of Uravity's voice and it's impressive alternating between shy and confident. In her slightly pudgy but toned body visible in her tight hero suit. In the twinkle when she laughed, and the fire in her eyes when she fought. The hair that framed her pinchable cheeks. And the erotic look of her covered in dust and blood after a particularly hard fight or rescue. The hero's panting breath hypnotized Himiko and coached her heart to beat in time with the rough inhales and exhales.
It was late afternoon as Himiko arrived. She didn't bother to double check the address on her phone, she just went right up to the apartment she was about to call home. If she hadn't known the apartment number by heart, she would've still known from all space decorations on the welcome mat and door who lived here. She wondered briefly if Ochako would allow her to add her own touch to the entry way. Maybe a bloody handprint? That would be nice, but she doubted it would ever pass. Maybe she could haggle it to the inside entryway instead?
Himiko knocked on the door, humming softly to herself while she waited. After ten seconds of nothing, she knocked again and waited twenty seconds this time. Also nothing. The blinds to the front window were down stopping her from peeking through, so she settled for ringing the doorbell and counted to thirty. After some slightly impatient foot tapping, she started to wonder if Ochako was out running an errand or something? It's not like she was unexpected this time. For once in their relationship, she'd called ahead. Well, the parole office had called ahead, but that was basically the same thing.
Ear to the door she listened for sounds inside. Some light music, like someone might do chores to. She sniffed the air, looking for scents like cooking or cleaning chemicals. A wide variety of delicious scents. Another sniff. This time the familiar scent of Ochako drifting in the wind. Sunshine, love, and blood. And it was…above her? Behind her?
Hands came up over Himiko's eyes. "Guess who?" A familiar voice.
Himiko sighed. It wasn't fair how excited this simple act made her. Her heart switching from racing in concern that she'd made a mistake to racing as she got successfully ambushed. "Ochako."
"Got it in one," said Ochako, removing her hands from Himiko's eyes. Himiko turned around and saw a radiant smile that brought out her own. "Did you have any trouble getting here?"
"None at all," replied Himiko. She let her eyes wander over the woman in front of her. The distance between them mere inches. A distance they had not achieved in a decade. Himiko put on her best pout. "But some meanie made me think that I'd been forgotten when they didn't answer the door. Left on a doorstep like an abandoned kitten. Oh, how will I ever recover from the shock?"
Ochako just laughed. "Considering how much you like surprising people; I figured it would be a good welcome to do the same. I'm honestly surprised that I managed to sneak up on you."
"Do you know why that is?" asked Himiko, leaning in so that their faces were almost touching. Ochako was starting to blush at their proximity, but she managed to shake her head. "It's because I haven't been able to get enough of your scent. If I was allowed just a few minutes of Ochako Time to recharge my love energy and remind myself of you, then I'd be able to find you even to the ends of the Earth."
"You haven't changed, have you?" Ochako opened her arms for a hug.
"I've changed a lot," replied Himiko. She filled the gap between them, holding that perfectly squishy body tight as she rested her head against Ochako's shoulder. The warmth of her body and the various scents that competed from her shampoo, body wash, natural oils and blood was dizzying. Someone could fall asleep to this. "But I hope it's only for the better. I've got several fancy pieces of paper that say so."
Ochako returned the hug, holding Himiko tight. For a moment, almost too tight. Like she was afraid to let her go. That too was comforting. "I'm proud of you for making it here. And glad. The thought of not being able to hold you like this…I didn't like that at all…"
"Mmhm," hummed Himiko.
Himiko made no move from the hug, just standing there content with that moment stretching on into forever. Ochako had other plans though. "We need to get inside. Dinner is almost ready, and we don't want anything to burn."
"One more minute," muttered Himiko into Ochako's shoulder.
Ochako didn't reply until more than a minute had passed. "We really should get inside," said Ochako, whispering. "My neighbors are going to start to stare."
"Let them," said Himiko. "I'm not moving until you say the magic word."
"Please?" Himiko shook her head against Ochako. "Once we're inside you can have some blood?" Closer, but she still shook her head. Ochako sighed, clearly at a loss. The former villain didn't plan to help her though until Ochako said the one thing she wanted to hear. Eventually…,"Himiko?"
Himiko shot away from Ochako finally, giving her brightest smile. "You called?"
That earned the cute full body laugh that Himiko so adored. "That was it?"
"What do you mean, 'that's it?'" asked Himiko, putting on a pout. "You haven't called me my name for years!"
Ochako frowned. "That can't be true…"
"Yuh huh. You haven't used it since I'd arrived. And you were always formal at the prison. Last time you'd used it was…"
"Himiko," said Ochako, cutting her off with another hug. "I'm so happy you're here. Would you please come into our home with me?"
She was trying to be playful and teasing, but Himiko now found herself with tears in her eyes. The emotion of decades catching up to her again. Home. Her home. Their home. She'd never heard anything sweeter. "I would love to. Once inside, can I kiss you?"
A pause. Ochako whispered into her ear. "You can kiss me right now."
The hug relaxed enough for Himiko to bring her head up and through her tears of joy she kissed Ochako on the lips. The salty tears were almost as sweet as blood. Ochako leaned into the kiss and the moment stretched on into eternity until much too soon it was over.
"Thank you," said Himiko, breaking apart. She was confused though as she saw a dissatisfied look on Ochako's face. "What is it? Am I that bad a kisser? It's not my fault, I've spent so much time in prison with no one to practice with. I swear I'll get better. You're great though, no notes."
Ochako laughed again. "No, it's not that. I was just expecting a different kind of kiss."
Himiko was confused for a moment. Then it clicked. She smiled widely and Ochako turned bright red as embarrassment finally cracked her calm hero façade. "Oh. You want that do you? If it's still on the table, I will gladly oblige. Is it fine to do an intimate kiss like that out in the open?"
"Yes," said Ochako, noticeable resolve in her voice. Himiko realized the commitment that Ochako was promising here. Their love, all aspects of it, wasn't just for inside the privacy of their home. They could be themselves, Himiko could be herself, outside where all could see. That was Ochako's promise to her. Or maybe she was just a pervert. Himiko was fine with both possibilities.
"If the brave and cute Uravity says to kiss her, then who am I to refuse?" asked Himiko. She leaned back in, and instead of going for the lips this time, she went for the neck. Gently she bit down, her canines puncturing skin. Ochako let out a light gasp at the sensation. Himiko removed her teeth and licked at the two small pinpricks of blood that were welling up. The taste was as light as an angel, hot as sunlight and sweet as a kiss. That was the taste of Ochako. She closed her eyes and let out a heavy sigh.
"That good?"
"Better."
"It must be, considering what you look like right now." Himiko was confused for a moment. She backed away and Ochako pulled out a phone. She turned on the camera to selfie mode and Himiko saw…Ochako. In her euphoria, she'd become the one she loved. And as Ochako showed her what she'd become, there was nothing but a smile on her face and love in her eyes. "How about we get inside so that I can finish dinner and you can try on some of the new clothes I got you?"
"I'd love nothing more," replied Himiko, holding on to Ochako's arm tightly. "Onward, to our new home!"
Another laugh. "Onward, to the future."
Ochako unlocked the door, opened it and they walked inside. To the start of a new journey. Together.
