"You senile fool! Are you out of your mind?" Tanya slammed down the project proposal on the cluttered desk belonging to a balding scientist. "Putting aside the potential risks of creating a weapon like this, if you somehow manage to build it, and someone foolishly fires it, you'll be changing the political landscape of war forever!"

Tanya had her hands full trying to de-escalate the war while keeping her position, and if this guy could actually build a nuke —she wouldn't put it past Being X to lend a hand— then she would face the worst case scenario. A complete global assault, and she would definitely be forced on to the frontlines.

And the ramifications of using nuclear weapons would be felt by everyone, which of course would drive other nations to race and develop their own. She didn't have faith that the battle-hungry glory-fiends in the war room would just back down if it came to that.

'This fool's proposal also would use magic to accomplish everything, so there was no worry of radiation, which was a key factor in demonstrating how inhumane such a weapon was!' If a nuke was going to be used, she would prefer if only went off once.

"Are you listening, you—" Tanya stopped talking, she had been blinded by the concept of nukes being used in war and so she hadn't registered what was already on the desk.

A small glowing dot was being suspended mid-air by four prongs. "Soon, soon everyone will witness God's everlasting love!" The mad scientist screamed as he flipped a switch.

A low ringing shook the room, Tanya jumped back and—

—and he staggered back, his sense of balance all messed up, but before he could fall he felt large hands grip his arms.

"It's okay, take your time little one." The soothing voice of an older woman reached his ears.

His brain was still scrambled from being flash incinerated, but eventually he took notice of his current circumstance.

He was in the body of a toddler and some lady was holding him steady.

Flashes of unclear memories from being born and raised surfaced, he currently had a weak bladder so he had frequent memories of being changed. 'Being X!' He cursed in his mind, but had to stop as it was headache inducing to overwork his young mind.

Instead he focused on taking a step forward, and he continued to walk even after being released.

"Aw, look at him go. I knew you worried about him not walking, but he's doing fine, thank the Lord."

Roughly two years passed before thinking became bearable, and even though he was just going with the flow he still observed the world around him.

Once more he was in an orphanage, however, the caretakers here were quite fervently devoted to the biblical God.

There was also this, he had noticed it a while ago but he had been unable to comprehend the letters and numbers until now.

'Hmm, these are video game terms right?' He hadn't ever dedicated a lot of time to games in general, but he'd seen enough to understand this. 'Being X! Stop playing around! What is all this, huh?' Sadly no one answered his thoughts.

It didn't take long for Tanya to notice his current home was secluded away from the rest of society, a vast verdant valley surrounded the rather large building he was staying at. His home was similar to a monastery or maybe an abbey, he had been raised by nuns, and hadn't seen any adult males yet.

It was clear to him that his seclusion was a purposeful incident, an obvious attempt to hinder his ability to gather information. He had no idea how the advent of a nuclear explosion was currently affecting the world at large.

He was currently standing on the end of a bench and peering out the small window along the wall. He was currently not allowed outside without supervision, so his options to keep an eye out for danger was limited. It was his hope to at least see a squadron flying through the air, even the smallest bit of information —how desperate they were flying— would help him get a grasp on the current situation.

"Sister Marianne! Sister Marianne, come quickly!" A nun's shout bounced through the stone hallway and dispersed into the different rooms along the way, it even reached the room at the end of the hallway with almost perfect clarity.

His current home was rather large, and it was divided up for various reasons. There were two bedrooms for him and a handful of other brats to share, a playroom, a cafeteria, a small library, and a side chapel, of course these were only the rooms he was allowed in. It seemed the nuns were satisfied with whatever they had on the second floor, since they never voiced complaints.

Tanya hopped off his perch and made his way out of the side chapel he had been in. It had been a sunny day, but the older kids were currently being taught lessons, so the smaller kids were playing in the playroom instead of being allowed outside. 'It had been quiet, I suppose I should've known something would happen.' He had almost bought into the delusion of peace.

"AGH!" A deep masculine voice cried out in pain.

Tanya creeped closer, something was happening in the entryway, and he didn't want a nun to shoo him away.

"RAH!" A man screamed, wearing a brown shirt drenched in blood, he was currently leaking blood onto the stone floor of the entryway. A handful of nuns were gathered around, but only three of them looked to be doing something.

"What happened?"

"I don't know, I just saw him wandering just outside the barrier—"

"And you brought him in!?"

"How could I ignore his suffering!?"

"Our duty is to protect and raise these kids, that takes precedence over everything else!"

"But—"

"If you wanted to help him, then you should've brought Sister Marianne outside to him!"

The other nun fell silent.

"Either way you two, I've dealt with it now, however, my magic is limited so I could only halt the progression of his wounds." Sister Marianne was kneeling next to the man, and her hands were glowing a faint golden light. "His wounds were caused by something dark, he'll need someone with more proficiency to help him, and we'll need to call for an Exorcist."

The surrounding nuns gasped.

"I fear we are dealing with a vampire. This was a trap, it took advantage of our nature, and purposely left this man alive. We have to act fast. Pamela, you have a cell phone right? Call for help."

A nun from the crowd nodded her head and broke off, she was heading for the hallway.

Tanya took a few steps back, and began walking slowly forward.

"Oh!" Pamela paused after she walked through the doorway. "Ah, uh, Tanya, what are you doing here?" She momentarily staggered her speech as she shifted her body to block the doorway.

"I'm hungry." Tanya almost bit his tongue to ensure he didn't sound too coherent, he was supposed to be a small child right now.

"You'll have to wait a little longer, for now let's head back to the playroom." The nun grabbed his hand and led him back down the hallway.

'Cell phone?' Even though he had just seen a nun use magic and assumed a vampire was outside, he was more worried about the existence of a mobile device. 'Being X! What is happening here?' His pent up anger was reaching a critical mass.

AN: I haven't read the LNs for either series, so just imagine every difference you notice is intentional.

...

Tanya: Nooo! You can't just build a magical nuke in WW1!

Mad Scientist: haha god-nuke go brrr.
