Trai - Werewolf

Trai loved calling himself the big guy on campus. He got the looks, the hair, the abs and the charm. Every head would always turn to him wherever he went. As a child, he loved the attention given, but it was also for him to branch out to know people more. He was interested in connecting to the group while trying to be the leader. He didn't want to be too left behind. There was always something interesting in getting to connect with others, even if he let his ego decide that.

Though, it couldn't always be possible. Being popular wasn't easy to maintain. Didn't help that he was easily distracted, carefree and blunt. This would explain his grades and some social graces towards certain people. He never gave a thought about that, just going with the flow. Half of the campus was mostly annoyed with him. However, the only person who both disliked and tolerated him was Zen.

Trai got to admit that he liked the nerdy guy. Zen might be a little strange, but he often fights to survive through the hard work of university. This may be why the two stuck around. Trai loved learning from others and learning from Zen might maybe solve his social skills? Well, he wouldn't be able to reuse his 'charm' when in the workplace.

Which was why he was more or less hesitant about tonight.

At that moment, he slowly woke up from his short nap. Trai tried recalling what he was doing.

"Well, I'm in a white jacket, sleeping on my grandmother's beach chair and a pair of sunglasses that leave me blind," he narrated out loud.

Indeed, he was moonbathing in his garden. Currently at a good rental house he managed to buy as a start of living independently. He nearly thought of staying over at his parents, but he didn't want to scare them about his upcoming transformation. While everyone already knew about the experiment's proposal, it was best not to give them a fright over.

Sure, the empty, secluded streets weren't ideal (it made him feel too alone), but at least no one would be calling the cops. Maybe this was why he was less focused of this street, away from the wider public.

It was difficult for him to say. Thinking about it made him want to lie there and relax, pretending it was all a dream. But it was too hyper-realistic when he entered that lab earlier this week. Zen surprisingly came along without telling him. Both were informed that this serum would allow them to turn into wereanimals.

Trai actually hesitated but hid it so well that Zen didn't question him later on. But after a while of thinking, he picked the werewolf and the rest was history.

Trai loved canines of all kinds. He had never had a dog before, but he always wanted to interact with one. They appear so gentle and friendly. He even once tried interacting with a wolf in the forest, though his lack of considerate behaviour only frightened the wolf. Remembering that day made him feel bad for evoking the wolf to snarl at him.

He wasn't afraid back then since he could tell that it was only trying to protect itself.

But now, he was afraid and wished a wolf might be around to comfort him.

His stomach began bubbling. It wasn't painful, but it was tingling. Sighing, he ripped the sunglasses off his face, staring at the bright moon above him. Seeing its bright light elicited a heavy sensation in his chest. He grunted, starting to shiver.

"My first transformation," he muttered. "I got to be really REALLY ready for this."

Becoming a werewolf had its concerns and Trai wasn't oblivious. It was thankfully not infectious, so he couldn't bite someone and expect the serum to spread. The turning into a werewolf was the scary part. Both feeling his body and his mind change into an inhumane, savage beast…

His heart was already beating rapidly. Trai gulped, closing his eyes. Why was he scared? He shouldn't be. It was just power. He should accept it. It was what he desired, right? And he could control it because of how far he come from his learning.

Slowly sitting up, he stroked his long, wavy hair behind his ears. It would grow longer eventually. He even rubbed his beautifully shaped beard; hopefully, that won't get ruined. He was going to miss this body.

He huffed, beginning to unbutton his jacket. The top buttons came off, peeling the jacket off slightly to expose his bare shoulders. He briefly admired them, liking how sharp and beefy they were.

"Stupid scientists telling us to remain outside," he grumbled. "A cage wouldn't be fitting, but I would be a freak in public. As much as Zen seems to overworry like a LOT, he does have a point about the progress. About unable to move through the pain and losing your mind to…"

He brushed off Zen's concerns, but he felt terrible that he didn't remark back nicely. Zen was probably worried as well. Turning into a weretiger, a much bigger and more muscular animal would be more painful. Well, that might depend since Zen wasn't always a bodybuilder, but Trai couldn't downplay the warnings.

And despite his boasts that he would rise as a werewolf, Trai was scared.

"No, Trai," he scolded himself. "Don't worry. You won't lose your mind when you become a wolf. You might feel hypnotized, but this will go well. Wolves AREN'T savages."

It was no use fighting against the bright moonlight. He could feel it rain over him, drenching him in a cool, safe blanket. This full moon was gonna be the primary trigger to unlock his power. And after that, he could transform easily whenever he want to, even in the daylight. It felt too safe underneath the moon, but it spoke volume of how much he found comfort in the assumed darkness.

With the final button off, he stood up and slowly let it slip off his body. Though, he jerked his hands upwards, hesitating. His breastplates were exposed to the cold breeze. He had the urge to put it back on. But he would have his own coat soon. It wouldn't take too long. Huffing, he let the jacket slide and rolled his neck around.

"I don't really want to become a wild beast," he worried. "…my head is racing already."

He looked back down on his human body, only clothed in black pants. Nicely toned with a six-pack. He wondered if he would become more muscular in werewolf form. At least that was a reassuring thought. He looked back up at the moon, letting his eyes be filled by the moonlight.

He waited for a while, letting his mind be filled with nothing. No thoughts, no narrations, just the moon itself. Though, he was aware of the sensation now tightening in his body. His stomach was bubbling deeply to the point that he felt sick. Something deep echoed in his throat. It was building up. It felt like a…growl.

Trai smirked. A little too arrogant. It already began.

He could feel himself growling. He could feel the rumbling of his own growl. The adrenaline rushing through his head suddenly filled him with discomfort and agitation. The discomfort of his current body…like he felt more reckless. Reckless to remain grounded. The same feeling as putting a lid on a steaming kettle. He wanted to be free.

A crack.

He grunted, annoyed. Then, another pop. They were coming from his shoulders. It felt like a needle suddenly stabbing into his flesh. Eventually, he succumbed to the growing soreness as his neck cracked.

"Here it comes," he said, slowly crouching down.

As he slowly lowered himself, he could also feel his muscles moving. They were swelling a little. The veins in his neck were more visible, looking like they might pop out and bleed messily.

As Trai remained in this pose, he tried to keep himself devoid of fear. But his mind was racing with thoughts that he would go out of control…and unfortunately, that led to fuelling his agitation.

"Grrrrrrr…"

He gritted his teeth, emitting a soft, animalistic growl. It was rumbling from inside him. He didn't feel human anymore. Eventually, it slowly increased into his want for recklessness.

The small pops increased to a set of loud cracks in his bones. The sudden pain made him lurch forward, briefly clutching his stomach. But it turned out it was for him to rise upwards again, lifting his head up as he let out a loud roar.

"GRRRRAAAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHH…!"

It was becoming more painful that he couldn't describe which parts of his body were hurting him. His roar became much deeper, more raspy. As he let the animal be known through his mouth, he could feel growing fur sprouting on his spine. An itchy sensation grew over his body alongside the bulging of his muscles. All of this contributed to his growing fury of wanting to be free.

He didn't need to wait long as his raging mind allowed the change to happen.

CRACK!

"FUCK! ARGH! FUCK!"

The process was nearly quick.

He twitched in place, feeling fur suddenly coating all over his body. It spread like paint, from his neck to his back to his arms to his legs. His body grew bigger, accommodating to a new growth spurt. But his body was twitching in agony; limbs, torso, head and neck twisting and turning. Trai kept his eyes closed, crying out in this newfound transformation.

"T-This! EEP! This…fucking…" Trai bent down, his twitching arms holding onto his stomach once again. "It hurts too much…GRRR!"

As his spine popped, Trai bent downwards in an awkward pose. Caught up in the delirium, he wasn't able to check out his growing body nor his new muscles. It could be due to his confidence in his strength increasing as a wolf. He lurched and hung backwards another time, unable to keep up with the rapid change. He could feel himself tearing inside, but at the same time, excited for what he would be.

Guess that beating that fear and embracing the chaos would make this quicker.

His spine cracked and nearly pushed upwards, bloating both his front torso and back. Trai briefly crossed his arms, whining from the forced push. At this point, he must have looked more bulkier than his regular human form. Opening his eyes, he forced himself to look down at his arms.

To his surprise, the fur only travelled until his wrists, leaving his hands bare-skinned. This went the same for his chest, exposing his breastplates and abs. But he was more concentrated on the hands. In the same manner as seeing the guy transform in 'An American Werewolf in London', he stared in a mix of wonder and cringe as they grew longer.

He gritted his teeth, growling away. He was starting to feel fur covering his entire neck, reaching up to his head. Trai suddenly yelped, his fingers snapping at different angles. He closed his eyes, not wanting to see the grotesque display.

"J-Just grow!" he snarled. "FUCKING TURN ALREADY, DAMNIT-ARGH!"

To his luck, his desired impatience led his hands to complete their transformation.

Flexing his fingers out, his fingernails burst into longer, sharp, black claws. Additionally, the color of his skin turned a deeper shade.

"Great," he grumbled. "N-Now I look like a…a goth with the nail paint!"

Trai yelped, bending down with his hands on his knees. His neck was thickening, the muscles added to shape his incoming wolf head. But his attention was directed to his legs. He could feel his pants becoming tighter, but he was confused about why his thighs didn't feel like they were becoming bulkier. He spotted his feet, barely covered in fur. Claws sprouted from his toes. Growing in shape, these feet didn't require him to stand on his hind feet.

"RAAAAHHH!" he shouted, his voice breaking. The bottom of his spine suddenly felt hot, like it was burning. "What…n-now…?"

He growled, closing his eyes again as he felt his spine expanding. But he didn't expect it to suddenly reach the back of his pants. It was growing, pressing against the material inside. Trai didn't need to be Einstein to figure things out. Despite being unable to open his eyes, he slowly moved his hand close to his butt and one of his claws to rip a hole in his pants.

It was good that he did it at the right spot as a long, fluffy tail burst through the hole. He could feel it wagging in irritation. It felt weird having a new extension to his body. But he couldn't concentrate on it. That he would deal with later on.

The last few changes were slowly spreading to his head. Coming from the now unsatisfied hunger inside his stomach before spreading to his neck and face. He slowly opened his eyes, teeth still clenched in a menacing growl. His canines were slowly growing more prominent. His face was the only exposed part of his hairy body, excluding the hands and feet. He wondered if that wouldn't be the case soon.

As fur slowly coated his chin, Trai thought back to the anger building up in him. The fury he restricted for so long. Instincts he barely recognized as human flooded his mind, telling him to let himself loose for once. The carefree, cool-headed Trai need to step aside to accept this change.

And he gladly did so, agreeing to the changes in his mind.

With the animal instincts coming to shape, his nose grew larger, painfully extending forward. A black color formed around his noseholes, slowly becoming a large black nose. His ears began to twist into a sharper shape but didn't dare to move. Trai's train of thought stopped due to the intense cracking of his skull.

It took his skull a while to reshape itself into a wolf shape.

"Come…on!" he growled through gritted teeth.

Unbeknownst to him, his fur gradually changed into a dark blueish-grey color.

CRACK!

"RRRRRRRAAAARRRGGGGHHH!"

The pain blinding Trai led him to open his mouth and that eventually allowed his nose to expand forward. A loud, angry roar escaped his lips with vast amounts of saliva spilling out. His nose and mouth grew wider, becoming a long wolf muzzle. Fur reached up to his cheeks, but they didn't dare spread further. His beard changed significantly, becoming a small dark piece of fur at the end of his developed chin.

The beast opened muzzle exposed his growing, sharp teeth, taking the appearance of deadly daggers. Trai would have complained about the saliva spilling out, but he could care less now. It didn't help that his ears became triangular and forced their way on top of his head, making his hearing more louder.

Distracted by the bone snapping, the beast squeezed his eyes shut and snapped his jaws, letting the change flow through his head. The ridiculous amount of spit dripped from his bottom lip.

"I-It..urgh…it has to be done!" he vocalised through gritted teeth. "It must be!"

After multiple cracks, he growled deeply, and all of his bones continued cracking. Unable to take the pain, he pressed his hands against the side of his head. He didn't notice his body was growing, reaching the height of a giant. Trai knew that he was becoming an animal, but it seemed that it wasn't really over.

"C'mon!" he scolded himself. "C-C'MON! C'MON, Y-YOU…COWARDLY…MOTHERFUCKER!"

Above his motivational screaming, the beast's mind was clouded in agitation from the pain and the unconscious clash with his new instincts coming to light. He felt less and less of his typical, guarded human self and more like the wild werewolf. It was dominating him, but he felt a little in control of what he could be.

These instincts gifted him with a new sense of purpose.

The beast recalled back to the wolf he met in the forest. The disappointment in not knowing the creature further. The desire to reach out to the wolf. The desire to reach out to Zen more. The desire to know more. Explore more. Live better. And that was what he wanted, especially with having Zen on the ride. His shivering held unreleased excitement he didn't show a lot to everyone.

Forcing his body to go through the last few changes, a scream formed inside him. It was clawing at his throat. The werewolf stood up straight, lifted his head up and opened his mouth to let out a defiant cry.

"AAAROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO…"

The beast's new instincts gave him the urge and confidence to howl loudly. An eerie howl that echoed through the quiet and empty streets.

With the transformation complete, Trai bent down with his hands on his knees again, panting. The new power running through his vitals was driving him a little crazy, but he could still hear his own thoughts. He stayed conscious but unable to calm down from the transformation. Trai couldn't help noticing that he sounded like a dog; the way they panted carried a crisp and heavy sound compared to humans.

The beast opened his eyes, revealing glowing, golden silts.

Through his panting, he felt a little…wild. Maybe a little energetic? No, too energetic. That should be the term. For some reason, he still felt angry. He wanted to lash out at something. Destroy something. Tear it to bits in his new werewolf body. It must be coming from his wolf instincts or he wasn't used to them. He never felt too aggressive before.

Usually, he liked to keep his cool to keep up the charm. But as a werewolf, he didn't care. The beast felt like he was free to do what he wanted.

The beast's sharp teeth clenched again, growling menacingly. His golden eyes darted left and right, randomly trying to find…something. He felt a little paranoid, trying to see what was out there. It's like he was on a bit of a hunt. With the remaining energy, he opened his jaw again to bark.

"RAAAAAAAARRRGGGHHH!"

The beast refrained back, still snarling. There was nothing out. He remained still, panting and shivering. As he slowly became aware of his surroundings, he became aware of the wind brushing against his new fur. His brand new coat of fur. He should feel cold since his chest was hairless. But he only felt warm. He felt like his hair already turned into a gorgeous mane to help him get through the winter.

Still feeling fizzy, the beast barked a few times. But with each bark, they became quieter and more tired. They eventually faded away in the void.

Finally giving up, Trai's energy was wasted. His body collapsed and he required his hands and knee to support his weight. He reminded himself that he needed to calm down, slowly breathing through his beating heart. He tried to clear his mind, but he was growing aware of the fur, the ears and the tail twitching between his legs. At least he was growing numb to the previous soreness.

After a while of breathing slowly, he could feel some of his previous human behavior returning. Growing to know what changed him, Trai broke into a smirk. His tail lifted upwards, wagging.

"Damn…" he muttered, wiping his wet lips. "Zen's right. Never underestimate your first transformation."

He could still talk, so that was a good thing. There was a slight growl, but it barely diminished his actual voice. Maybe it sounded more deep when he chose to be threatening.

He blinked a few times, making sure that he wasn't unconscious.

"And I thought it would go too quickly," he joked, trying to remain himself.

At least he could still feel his sense of humor. He huffed, chuckling to himself. It nearly sounded like an evil, psychotic laugh, but he wasn't that. Only feeling a little crazy about this.

Wanting to test his balance properly, he stood up. Thankfully, his feet were still functional, so he could stand on two feet. Looking down, he smiled at his new appearance. He never thought he would become a werewolf or a…good-looking one. He got to thank the nerds from back then. Though, his only complaint was looking like a literal furry.

His hand briefly rubbed the back of his neck. It was coated in thick fur. Once again, he felt like he had grown a gorgeous mane. It was so soft and silky instead of spiky. Despite looking quite rough, his fur didn't feel too bad. His hand travelled to his left arm, admiring the sensation of its smoothness. He eventually stopped at his bicep, squeezing it. It felt like trying to squeeze on concrete. It continued and travelled to his teeth, poking at the sharp tips.

He eventually moved his finger away, but when it came into view, he flexed his hands. Despite the black fingernails, he could get used to the new claws.

A mischievous snicker escaped his lips.

Trai took the opportunity to test his senses out. First came hearing things. He could only hear the night birds sweetly chirping and the crickets. Oh, those were the daily stuff, but they were a little louder. He slowly touched one of his ears, feeling them wiggle. He chuckled, liking the sensation.

"I'm gonna be acting like a puppy for the next few days," he said. "Zen will flip out by this. He's not a dog person."

He took a huge big sniff…and regretted it. All he could smell was the garbage bin he forgot to leave outside for the truck to dispose of it. He tried smelling somewhere else. His nose directed to his thankfully not-dead flowers. At least they were around. A fragrant to keep him calm and reminded of his home life.

Trai looked behind him, admiring his swaying tail. Not too thick, but not too ridiculously small. He wagged it around a few times, enjoying its sensation. He curled it around his waist and it immediately felt like a proper blanket. While it might not be necessary, at least he got the pleasure of having it.

"I'm gonna keep squeezing it like a plush toy, will I?" he said to himself.

Trai's mind thought back on how he felt now. He felt a bit wilder, crazier. He wondered if this was how a wolf felt like. Being on the prowl or a hunt or if that was his mind telling him how to act like a werewolf. But it must be the serum affecting his thoughts, yet it was non-fatal…a single question came to mind if he minded eating flesh.

He froze, tensing up.

That was a horrible question to ask.

Closing his eyes, he shook his head. "That's…that's gross."

Of course, it was. And despite his usually big appetite, he never had space for human flesh. He was a more picky eater, stuffing chocolate cake in his jaws. His biggest secret was being a vegetarian. Though, wolves could eat raw meat, but he would ask that to the scientists later on.

Raising his arms above his head to stretch, a billion ideas came to mind. Since he completed his transformation, he could rush up to his parents' house to give them a more gentle surprise. They might freak out, but they might be amused. After all, he did want a dog when younger.

Maybe he might try to find the wolf again in the forest. Or a pack of wolves. Well, he would have to get used to running like a wolf. He knew how to growl, howl and intimidate like one, right? Maybe he might be able to learn from the wolves in the forest if they were friendlier to him in this form.

Or maybe he could stop by Zen's and check on him…a frown crossed over his muzzle. Trai nearly forgot. The poor guy might be struggling in his own transformation. Given that the full moon was already out, it was time now to check on him.

He smiled to himself, grateful for the choice he made. He was free. He looked up at the bright moon, feeling its comfort. On instinct, he let out another howl.

This time, it was melodic, peaceful and humane.

Hello again! Welcome back and here, we have Trai the werewolf. Like Zen, he's a character from the 2013 Thai film 'Loh Lak Sai'. From what I researched, he's a bully. A jerk with seemingly stalker motive. Though, here, his personality is changed to be a standoffish, arrogant guy who has some decency. I want to make him more carefree and reckless than my portrayal of Zen; this contributes to his wolf motif. One that can be rough but also pretty social and open to people around him.

Let me know your personal thoughts on the werewolf transformation!
