"I love this world…and because of my love…I accept the light and darkness that has affected everyone's lives…the truth is…my friends and I have met all kinds of people…and we don't want to lose anyone…especially you…" – Alexa (Gen 2.0), Free! ESC – The Last World

Storyline A: The Final Reckoning
Iwamara, Planet Duniya – Present Day

The attacks from the Shadow Achaemenian Empire have died down, resuming some sense of peace across the planet. Thanks to the power of the Macedonia Dragon Crystal, most of the damage has been repaired magically. Some of the people began to move back into Neo Sportsbrooke but it was unknown how many casualties there were from the beginning.

However, in Iwamara, Articora!Alex sat down in the empty space of the ISW suite where his original self resided in. Despite not possessing any magic, he can certainly feel the tension and stress that happened here. Not that he wanted to be nosy, his heart was telling him to see how much progress Original!Alex made.

"It's tempting, isn't it?" Sergi walked in.

Articora!Alex turned to see his brother, "I-I'm sorry…I know I shouldn't be here but…"

"You were a part of him, it only makes sense in your heart to come here," he said.

"I was looking at his swim diary…and it seems that his times are getting better and better but…" Articora!Alex began.

"You know something is still off, isn't it?" he asked.

"Yeah," the older brother sighed, "I noticed he had a ton of plateaus, and he seems to be worried about not making far to the competition."

"I'm sure you of all people know why," Sergi said.

"Fate has been cruelling to us, but it didn't help we made poor choices," Articora!Alex answered, "I pushed us to make those choices…all because of what happened in the old world…I wanted to become our best self. After being reborn, those poor choices kept following us."

"But in the end, you both forgave each other and yourself," Sergi added, "That alone is powerful enough to become a better human being."

"That may be, but what about the others?" Articora!Alex asked, "The other swimmers? Even now they know of our misdeeds…"

Sergi kept quiet for a moment but finally replied, "We must believe in them, and in the future."

"You seem very confident," Articora!Alex answered, "Then again, I should know better."

The younger brother walked closer to him and added, "There's something I haven't told anyone yet."

He dug into his pocket and showed him the map of Stonehenge from the U.K.

"W-what's this?" the older brother looks at it.

"After seeing the powers of Ultra Suiei Marotta and Suiei Cosmos, I have marked one of these pillars with notes I wrote," he revealed, "The power of the guardians is a key factor in ensuring for a future."

"I don't understand," Articora!Alex tilted his head, "Wouldn't that give information away?"

"Only those who can read the runes will know," Sergi smiled, "I left all the notes in a box so it could only be access to those who know how to open it. Anyway, how about we check up on mom and dad."

"Sure," he nodded.

Mizu Temple

Suiei Kronos waited for Artemis to appear as the latter was finally getting ready to confront Apollo. Upon arriving, the primordial senshi greeted him.

"Kronos, if you can drive through the space-time, does this mean you know what will happen to the Swimming Guardians?" Artemis asked.

"I only know what will happen based on the physical space and time," the entity replied, "But only you and the others will decide what future there will be."

I can only become Super Suiei Oceania still, Artemis thought, as he shimmered to his gear, I hope this power alone is enough.

With this the temple flared to life as Artemis braced himself to reach Camelot. Once Artemis disappeared, Mizu Marotta walked in.

"Was that…?" he asked.

"Yes," Kronos looks at the spot where Artemis formerly stood, "The key players are now going to combat. However, I am more concerned about the Greatest Light."

"Why is that?" Marotta looks at him, "What do you know?"

"There are plenty of dangers in the space-time fields of all the universes ever to exist. Whether it is a physical bend in the universe, or a scaled conflict triggered by humans or other sapient species," Kronos continued, "The Final Reckoning is in a location so vastly far away that it's beyond a mere redshift."

"You're not answering the question. Will there be a future?" the Mizu God looks at Kronos sharply.

"Look to your human and you'll find the answer," Kronos replied before disappearing the area.

Dammit, this could be very bad, the Mizu God thought, I can't go where he is…but they will. They have to take my place.

Meanwhile, Kronos arrived in Taiao which was now blending its pocket dimension to the rest of all the realities that were connected here. Its purpose has been fulfilled, but the remnants of this place was still clinging onto the uncertain future that was happening not just here but also there…

Alpha Timeline:
The Final Stroke Part 2

At one of the training facilities in Tokyo, Rin slammed his hand on the locker, stressing out from the current training. Since his fallout with Haruka months ago, everything seemed to be all of a fog with uncertainty.

"This isn't enough!" he growled, "I'm sure he's pushing too! I have to get stronger! Faster!"

His phone flashed to life in his pocket. He opens it up to see a message from Makoto…

Makoto: Have you seen Haru? He's not at the facility.

Dammit, Rin's mind screamed.

Rin: I'll be right over. Where are you?

Changing out of his swim gear, the red-haired man grabs his long trench coat, long-sleeved shirt, a pair of pants and his open toed shoes. Despite the fallout a while ago, Rin wasn't going to allow anything to lose his competition in the upcoming tournaments.

Getting on the train, Rin sat down in one of the seats while trying to keep his anger low-key. However, something was also flaring in his heart.

Night Pool

Haruka arrived at the top level of the facility where the pool was opened for its scheduled use. Thankfully he recently discovered this place from Isana who used to come here sometimes. He looked at the sun setting before going to the lockers and changing to his attire.

He couldn't bear to just go home and rest on the bed. The nightmares he occasionally would get…were they warning signs?

Once he had changed, he set his things secured and went into the water for a gentle swim, reflecting on the things he said to Rin. He knew it was wrong of him, but at the same time…the history of each other was a turmoil unlike any other.

Reaching the surface of the water, the skies were darkening to lavender before deep blue. He closed his eyes briefly, taking a deep breath. Upon opening them, he saw himself floating in some weird place, showing him a massive wall of light and darkness looming all around.

W-where am I, his mind panicked, t-this isn't Tokyo!

Haruka saw a lone figure standing nearby with his arms wide, holding two artifacts of some sort. He was about to say something when that stranger ran across the platform before jumping outwards to the wall and disappearing through it.

"Hello, Haru," Rin's voice echoed to his mind.

Haruka's vision brought him back to reality as he turned to see Rin, "R-Rin…how did you?"

"Do you remember you told me back in high school?" Rin asked, "About not giving up swimming? A lot has happened since, but I'm still here."

Haruka noticed Makoto nearby as well as he nodded. With this, they both agreed to do a test race here and now to settle the stress they both endured.

Storyline B: Our Free!
Day 2: Medley Relays Prelims

With the second day of the Olympius Duniya taking place, the audience and the swimmers once again gathered forth at the arena site. The morning sessions consisted of the 400m freestyle relays while the afternoon consisted of the rest of the relays, both IMs and the Mixed Medley.

The Hidaka team consisting of Seijuuoru, Isana, Asahi, and Hikaru to take on the first heat. Sadly, the Shimogami team were scheduled for a separate heat.

"Do your best, all of you!" Nagisa cheered them on.

"See you on the other side," Seijuurou fist bumps with Tsubasa.

With this, the four make their way to the diving blocks as Seijuuoru was set to be the first diving in, followed by Isana, Asahi and then Hikaru.

"This will be a good day," Isana smiled.

"Absolutely, we'll kick ass!" Asahi winked.

"Looking forward on this," Hikaru added.

Seijuuoru makes a soft chuckled before getting his cap and goggles ready as he makes his way to the diving block. Tsubasa watched him from the other room as the cameras were now aimed at the deck.

The red-haired got on the diving block at the ready…

"Take Your Marks…"

"BEEP!"

While these medleys were taking place, Alex visited his folks in the lobby area to discuss the recent event that took place. He wiped off a few of his tears in the process while trying to maintain his composure.

"Oh pootsie, we're so sorry," the mother answered.

"I didn't think that was possible," the father added.

"Are you sure that was the final decision?" Sergi asked.

"I was going to find out today…maybe I'm just overreacting but…" he sighed, "It's been a lot…so much has happened to us. Sometimes, it feels like none of this is all real. But it is…"

"The Olympics, huh?" Sergi nodded.

"It's been very hard for me to keep up with them," he revealed, "Yet, I occasionally have these strong, fast outbursts of energy. I still feel like I have unanswered questions."

"You'll find the answers," the father replied.

"I hope so," Alex said before turning his head to the TV to see the Hidaka group making 2nd place of their heat.

"Need to go back?" the mother asked.

"I probably should go," he answered, "I only wanted to speak to you all briefly on the heads up."

"Call us if you need anything," the father said.

"Thanks," Alex smiled, taking off back to the base.

Iwamara Coastal Estates

"Amazing…" Articora!Alex watched the broadcasting of the medley teams taking place.

Articora!Rei was busy with making lunch along with Shizuru while Romio and Ayumu were snacking a little bit on some chips and dip.

"How did they…?" Shizuru asked.

"Hidaka made second," Articora!Alex said.

"Nice!" Romio smiled as Ayumu nodded.

"Have you talked to anyone there?" Shizuru added.

"I don't want to bother their concentration," he replied, "But then again, my original half told me to message him, but he didn't reply back."

"Maybe he's just busy?" Romio shrugged.

This isn't like him, the twin thought, I hope he's okay. Did something happen?

Finally, the oven beeps as Rei turns off the timer and pulls out the baked mini bread with pork fillings. The air smelled of delicious food as there was also a platter of sushi and sashimi.

"Wasn't Governor Amakata going to stop by here?" Romio asked.

"She might," Articora!Rei shrugged, "Probably busy dealing with the trades going on in Lha'li."

"Didn't Alex's daughter marry that princess?" Shizuru recalled.

"Yeah, she finally did," Articora!Alex said, "They are staying in Lha'li with the other girls too for the time being. Last I heard they were going to help Neo Tabuk bring about peace talks."

A much better world we've come to, Ayumu thought, it's been a long journey for a lot.

With the Shimogami team also on deck, everyone anticipated what their results would be. The blue-haired man readied himself on the block as he could envision this team making it all the way to the end.

"Take Your Marks…"

"BEEP!"

Everyone watched as the Shimogami team progressed neck to neck of a team from Lha'li. It was certainly a close match as the desert folks were barely a hair behind. Tsubasa would then reach the wall to summon Kotarou into the pool followed by Ikuya and lastly Hiyori.

During Ikuya's round, Asahi watched the former becoming such a strong swimmer. His mind flashed back to their middle school days in Iwatobi long, long time ago.

So much has happened, I'm proud of you, Ikuya, he smiled.

The team made it to the end, also making second place in that heat. However, there was a third and final round of swimmers, mostly from Neo Sportsbrooke and Lha'li. A few of them were also from Neo Tabuk despite the city in some mid-crisis.

Once they got back to their posts, they were greeted by the others.

"You guys did great," Seijuurou greeted.

"Thanks," Tsubasa winked.

"Where are the others?" Kotarou asked.

"Some of them went on their break early," Asahi said.

"And Alex…is he…?" Hiyori questioned.

"He's doing better. He spent some time with his folks for a little bit. Now he's hanging out with the STYLE FIVE along with Kotetsu and Kaede," Asahi explained.

"Where did Albert go?" Ikuya asked.

"I think he went to make a phone call to his cousin," Aoba said, "He wanted to see the other arena again."

"Capybara, how about we grab something to eat?" Momo asked.

"Food sounds good right now to be honest," Ai added.

"I'll make sure you three don't get any ideas…" Sousuke said.

"Let me know if he's causing a ruckus…" Seijuurou winked, "I'll give him another training from…"

"UAHHHHH! ONII-CHAN THAT'S MEAN!" Momo cried out.

S-Olympic Arena

As final quality checks were made, Cherry, Joe and Shadow were talking to Langa, Reki, and Miya respectively on the upcoming tournaments, reviewing the last bit of the event. Ainosuke, Tadashi, and the Chivashi, as well as Janella and Goliath arrived with Stellaluna.

"Okay, I don't get this contraption," Haruto sighed.

"It's for skating, right?" Mariko asked.

"Yeah, are you guys gonna watch us compete?!" Miya looks at them.

"I'm sure they'll wanna watch the swimmers as well," Langa answered.

"Don't sell us out like that! We have a great performance planned as well!" Reki replied.

"You'll have your votes from me for sure," Ainosuke nodded.

"Master, don't forget we have a quick conference with Governor Amakata," Tadashi reminded him.

"I haven't forgotten," he shrugged.

"I'm glad we're finally in a peaceful age," Stellaluna said, "I know I am a bit late on the committee but they're okay with me coming in."

"How is the railroad project going along?" Joe asked.

"It's actually the bullet train but it'll soon connect Iwamara, Chirottori, Neo Tabuk, Lha'li and Neo Sportsbrooke," Goliath recalled.

"What about Frostella and the Farah Coast?" Reki looks at Langa.

"There's an ongoing poll about that, the people will only want to make a line if the train is more green-based energy," Langa said.

"Aren't there developers there for that?" Cherry asked.

"Yeah, so more than likely, we'll have our own connecting line for sure," the prince answered.

"Remind me when you two slimes tie the knot," Miya chuckles, prompting both Reki and Langa to blush.

Multi-Purpose Arena

At the other facility, the multi-purpose arena was designed to hold volleyball, hockey, and basketball tournaments as well as their respective Olympic events. The volleyball gang were also prepping for their events which were scheduled after the last day of the swimming tournament. It would consist of both an indoor and outdoor/beachside series event.

"This is looking awesome," Shouyou watched in awe.

"We'll finally have the match of our dreams," Tobio agreed.

"Heh, I can't wait to face off!" Atsumu grinned.

"Better keep this interesting," Kenma reminded them, "All of you!"

"Isn't this not festive enough?" Sakusa asked.

"Just don't make the matches dramatic, okay?" the ex-Atlantean reminded them.

Ushijima slightly rolled his eyes while Aran slightly chuckled as Shinsuke kept his usual silence.

"Aren't you gonna tell them?" Kuroo looks at Kenma.

"No," he said, "We have to wait."

"Wait on what?" Bokuto tilts his head.

"There's something critical we have learned…but we can't let unsuspecting ears hear around," Kenma shrugged.

"Okay that's vague…why can't you just tell us?" Shouyou asked.

"He said to wait you idiot," Tobio sighed.

"I'll put it to you this way, I have a bunch of decorations ready," Kenma said.

"Decorations?" Atsumu asked.

"Okay, now I'm getting curious, what is it?" Korai added.

"Is it for us?" Sachiro asked.

"I blame you for opening the can of worms," Kenma looks at Kuroo.

"What? Either way we gotta get ready for the big day," Kuroo shrugged.

Elsewhere, Natsuya, Nao, and Sergi sat down together to discuss a few upcoming things taking place.

"Is it really too late for my brother?" Sergi asked.

"Not necessarily true," Nao answered, "I think he's still got the potential to keep swimming even now."

"I know…it's just…if he doesn't do anything for the next few days…" he sighed.

"We'll keep him busy," Natsuya said, "Operation Last Race, remember?"

"Yeah," he smiled a little, "I still couldn't believe that kind of a thing is possible."

"Anything is possible if enough people put their minds into it," Nao answered, "And I think that race will finally answer the biggest question to your brother's dream."

"I just hope…he won't take it the wrong way," Sergi replied, "I mean…he's been grateful to have been a part of this community. I just worry he won't get the proper closure if this plan doesn't work."

"It will work," Natsuya replied, "We'll make sure of it. That is our promise. Your brother has done so much for this community, this world, and perhaps this entire universe. We wouldn't let him down that easily just because of this little mishap."

Mizu Temple, Iwamara

The nine Mizu Gods were just casually in variable discussion when they sensed something arriving here in this world. At first they thought it was another new threat but the waters gently glowed to life as they saw five more Mizu Gods emerging from the molecules.

"We are finally here," Mizu Khenmu greeted.

"Oh my goodness, you must be the other planetary Mizu Gods?!" Hazuki's jaw dropped.

"I didn't think you'd guys make the trip out here," Nanase looks at them.

"Marotta definitely spoke about you guys for sure," Tachibana said.

"We have come here to observe the festivities of your swimming," Mizu Ebisu added.

"I am glad you all could make it," Marotta replied, "But wait…where's…?"

"Yamato and the prince will come on a separate schedule with the Suizei team," Mizu Ghaac revealed.

"I see," he nodded.

"Dang and I thought we were truly unique…" Hazuki pouted.

Ryugazaki smacks him on the back of the head and adds, "Forgive us for this little one's rude remarks."

"No harm," Mizu Ataben chuckled.

"I'm just glad we could finally meet," Ghaac answered, "Your great presence has inspired even us from countless light-years away."

Marotta nodded but turned his head back to the building to walk alone. They all followed him, wondering what happened.

"What's going on?" Nanase asked.

"It's Sandro…" he said, "He just got disqualified."

"W-WHAT?!" they all gasped.

"W-what do you mean?! Did he…?" Hazuki looks at him.

"No. His tests are all negative!" he replied, "I guess…something happened in the video review of the tournament and…yeah."

"Oh my goodness, this is terrible," Tachibana felt weak there.

"We're sorry for your human's loss," Ryugazaki said.

"I need to go to him," he replied, "I'll be back."

Upon getting the final response from the committee, the dragon swimmer maintained his composure for the rest of the medley relays events, supporting both the Iwatobi and the Samezuka teams in their own respective heats. The sun was going down for the evening at this time.

After getting back to their lounge area, Alex went outside on the balcony to finally release his anxiety and sadness. Now that it was official…he wasn't sure what to do.

Kyle went outside to check up on him as his husband's face was all sore and burnt with the results of his performance.

"Here, I figured you'd want this," Kyle gave him a Pocari Sweat drink.

"Thank you," he breathed with a heavy sigh, "I guess this was fate's telling me to own up from the other Olympics."

Kyle stayed quiet for a moment to let him vent out before finally answering, "You will always be my champion."

"I mean…I'm not even qualified for the semi-finals…" Alex answered, "This is absurd. I was expecting to not make the final cut after semi-finals but why the hell would I be kicked out this early?"

"Are you going to plea this as a lawsuit or a case?" Kyle asked.

"What's the point of getting political there?" he sighed, "I just knew it from yesterday's meeting. I didn't want to jump to a conclusion that fast, but I knew something was going to happen. I might be a good swimmer, but my body has been damaged so many times…this has to be a way of fate telling me."

"And you are an awesome swimmer," Rei stepped in along with Haruka, Makoto, Rin, and Nagisa.

Alex looked at them with a bit of a shock on is face but breathed in and out heavily again before answering, "I tried…I honestly don't know what to do at this point."

Finally, Haruka, gets to Alex's face and replies, "Don't give up. I once told Rin that if he wanted to keep on going, he was not going to quit."

Rin's mind flashed to that day at the barbed wired fence in Iwatobi as that fateful moment was indeed a crossroad for them. With a nod, Rin steps in, "You are one of the bravest swimmers we've ever known…and there is a reason why you're still here."

"A part of me wants to give up but something tells me to keep going," he said, "I mean…the only other option for me…"

"Is to swim in a relay," Makoto finished.

Alex lowered his head before continuing, "Back on Terabithia…I never swam in a relay. The media and press would ask me why I refused to do such a thing. Of course, I masked that all in a lie…"

He looks up at them, "I…is it possible…still? Is it possible that I could still compete but in a relay?"

"That is something that needs to be discussed with Natsuya and Nao as well as the committee," Rei said.

"We know you love swimming, Sandro-chan," Nagisa replied, "And we're happy for you to have journeyed this far. We know your heart is broken from this horrible news but…none of us would be here without you. We'll look into your stats and see if we can find a way to maybe become more than just a back-up swimmer on bench."

"I…I do want to try," he said, "I mean…yeah I've kinda done relays in training with you and the others but never in an official match."

"Then let's make it happen," Rin answered, "We'll make it happen, together."

Haruka was about to look at Rin but he kept his composure and concluded, "Don't forget we'll always be together as long as the water is alive. Go get some rest soon, alright?"

"Yeah," he finally smiled a sad tear, "Thank you all…I do mean it."

With this, the five walked back into the room and safely distanced themselves from the couple.

"What was that all about?" Haruka looked at Rin and Makoto.

"Trying to give some hope back into…" Makoto begins.

"But you almost spilled the beans there for what THEY are planning to do," Rei said.

"I wasn't gonna slip that easily," Rin shrugged.

"I'm glad I kept my mouth shut," Nagisa added.

"Look. We know that Natsuya-senpai and Nao-senpai are currently in talks with the IOC about this. We have enough evidence and proof to state that Sandro is still a qualified swimmer," Rei noted.

"That may be but don't forget we have to properly train him and also reserve his energy assuming this match gets approved," Haruka replied.

"Not just him but look what would happen to our roster for the semi-finals and finals," Rin said, "A bit of a sacrifice on our part as well."

"But I'm sure it'll be well worth it," Nagisa replied, "Not just for him but…"

"He doesn't know about any of this…does he?" Makoto asked.

"No. And we're not going to tell him that secret until the time comes," Rei said, "This operation, this race…"

"And also, on that day we must keep it low and make sure that this is all in his honor," Haruka concluded.

Storyline A: The Final Reckoning
Flashback – Sometime after Gen 2.0's finale
Planet Suizei's 2nd Golden Age

Prince Yamato and his wife celebrated a new golden area of the Argrye Capital along with a handful of Swimming Guardians. Suiei Khnemu, Ebisu, and Atlaua stood together as they each had a glass of drinks. The Quintet Senshi were also present.

After making a toast, the audience danced, gossiped, and talked among themselves. Yamato himself sat down with the trio senshi in a mixed bag discussion of things. Since the first appearance of Suiei Cosmos on planet Olympia Magna during their final battle, a bit of change in the space-time was noted.

In the past, these folks would've never met. But even though the battle was won in the heroes' favor on Olympia Magna, something was still stirring.

"Honey, this isn't the time to worry," the wife spoke, "We have a beautiful celebration here."

"You don't miss the others?" he asked.

"I still keep in touch with Ulysses," she answered, "I guess they're undergoing some policy change in Atlantis."

"Typical political shit," Hayato shrugged.

"Yamato-sama, we're truly honored to be guests here," Khnemu said.

"Indeed, I still can't believe it how we pulled off like that," Ebisu chuckled.

"Well…yeah, I guess," Atlaua answered.

"Oh come on, it's not like we killed your people," Khnemu replied.

"No but we almost did during that invasion," Atlaua said.

Ebisu blushed slightly as he recalled a moment with Atlaua during the mission. A little tumble and Ebisu happened to land on top Atlaua. While neither of them noticed at the time, it did leave a bit of a feeling inside of Ebisu. This led him to sing a bit more, using his own siren abilities to produce peaceful, calming music.

"Are you okay, Ebi?" Atlaua asked.

"Y-yeah," he shrugged, "Y-you could just call me Ceccon."

"Oh? Then I guess Sota would have to be," Sota winked.

"Do you remember when you visited my domain, and a storm nearly threw you out?" Ebisu said.

"God that was a bad run there," Khnemu shrugged.

"And here I thought I was good with my own stats," Sota answered, "It's a bit tricky to adapt to a different planet sometimes."

"I sent Khnemu to find some supplies on the cache island we had but…" Ebisu added.

"Hm?" Yamato and the others were listening to this.

"What happened then?" Kazuki asked.

"I started to sing…" Ebisu confessed, "Worried that he was a goner."

"Tch, like hell I'd be killed that easily," Atlaua remarked.

"I mean it," Ebisu answered.

Khnemu nodded as he realized what this moment was going to lead to. Indeed, Ceccon grabbed Sota's hand and replied, "Let's go out together."

Sota blushed upon this as the others gasped softly.

"A-are you two…?" Toru asked.

"We've been slowly opening each other up," Sota revealed as he pulled Ceccon into his arms, "I wasn't sure to say anything about this, but I guess someone is fascinated with me, hehe."

"Congratulations to the two of you," Yamato smiled.

"Sire!" one of the royal guards walked in, "We have the two newly registered senshi that just arrived."

"Bring them in," he answered.

They watched as two more guys walked in with their own unique, exotic attire from their homelands.

"Guardian of the Hoag's Object, under the protection of Mizu Ghaac, I am the Third Descendant of planet Terraus! I am Suiei Ghaac! Don't let the silence put your guard down!"

"Guardian of the Circinus Galaxy, under the protection of Mizu Ataben, I am the Second Descendant of planet Zo! I am Suiei Gaia-Ya! My hunger for combat and enemies are always available!"

"Wow, so you guys finally made it!" Ceccon gasped with joy.

"We're glad you both got through," Sota agreed.

"So then, does this mean we're a full fledge team of some sort?" Gaia-Ya questioned.

"With an army like this, we'll do very well with spreading the love of swimming," Kentaurus agreed.

As time passed on, Planet Suizei tried to adapt to making swimming an actual competition series but the physical stats on each guardian varied so much, proving to be a challenge. Yamato called Sasabe to see if there were any further analyses to be made. The Quintet senshi were at their normal usual times but a few like Ceccon swam so fast and far, it made things a bit awkward.

It was at this moment that these "singular" guardians from their sole planets had their own unique traits beyond the average human being despite all of them bestowed with crystals. Despite this, they all tried to coexist and cooperate with each other.

Years Later
During an Inter-Omniversal Pact Meeting

Several dozens of Swimming Guardians from other worlds gathered together along with Kentaurus, Gaia-Ya, Khnemu, Atlaua and Ebisu at Yamato's base. It was some sort of a meeting that needed attention in terms of the increasing threats of Memnon's army invading several of the cousin planets. However, some of them were concerned about now having enough defense while others wanted to try to find Memnon head on.

It was an endless, pointless, and moot debate. No progress was being made. Yamato tried to calm down some of them when…

JINGLE-JINGLE
JINGLE-JINGLE

A sphere of light floated down in front of everyone's attention as they all silenced to see what was happening. Moments later, it showed a hologram…

The false Artemis approached the two kings with the ghost of Suiei Cosmos behind him.

"Both the Macedonia Dragon and the Ithaca Phoenix are free now…" Artemis spoke in Cosmos' voice, using the power to bring the staffs and the two crystals together, creating a set of headpieces to finish the design off. He handed them to the men as their clothes transformed.

They both donned in a toga-like fashion but dressed in warrior forms of armor and crowns made of precious metals. Alex's aesthetics were like that of the dragon and the koi carp while Kyle's were of fire symbols and the phoenix and feathers.

The Iwasame Mizu Gods smiled as Neo King Alexander and Neo King Odysseus stood together side by side as they were being crowned as the new kings. Above them, the skies grew brighter and filled with a rainbow pastel.

"You bow to no one," Neo King Alexander said, "We both give you our thanks…our gratitude…our lives…for fighting for justice and peace at long last."

The two kings turned to the spirits from the afterlife, thanking them before sending the crowd back. Neo King Julius was proud of his descendant and promised to visit him again in the dream realm.

Once that was done, they both turned to see a burnt cloak from one of the former witches. With a nod, they combined their powers together with Artemis/Suiei Cosmos as a loud heartbeat could be heard. Moments later, everyone heard the cry of a newborn.

That was when the senshi realized…

"The Greatest Light?" Kazuki muttered.

"For us to see it all the way out here," Shigino gasped.

"We might not even be there in person yet…that power is incredible," Kentaurus was shocked.

Some of them gave a round of applause as they watched planet Duniya now being restored into a better world. A second viewing showed the following:

The two kings raised their Astro Solar Destiny Tiare and the Astro Lunar Creation Tiare. Both their crystals budded out of their bodies as both the crystals and the staffs wiped a massive rainbow-golden light across the entire city, transforming it into a futuristic-crystalized style town with an array of more Eco-friendly environments, technology, and plants.

With this, the pollution from the city finally vanished as several buildings are made of crystal similar to Frostella but with various shapes and sizes. The audience were in shock and awe to see all that happened to this once disgraceful metropolitan. At long last, the skies above returned to clear as the sun appeared itself.

All the Swimming Guardians smiled with hope in their hearts as the other communities were tearfully happy to see their home now in a better condition than before.

This was certainly a sign of hope that maybe there's a way to stop Memnon and the Shadow Achaemenian Empire.

He reminds me so much of Neo King Julius, Yamato thought, perhaps they have crossed paths.

Present Day: The Universe

The remaining Swimming Guardians flew into space, taking off from planet Suizei. Alex knew that they had to find Memnon, but this entity wasn't giving them a clue on where exactly in space-time this could be. For it to be the Edge of all the Universes, there was no clear direction on where it sat.

Memnon, Alex thought, if you really want this final battle, you have to at least tell us where you are.

"What's going on?" Albert asked.

"I'm trying to see if Memnon can get back into my mind," Alex said.

"Bad idea," Kotetsu remarked, "Do you remember the last time that happened?"

"Maybe, but he's not giving us any clear direction to find him," he replied.

"Still though, you can't give into his psychotic behavior," Kaede said.

"He wasn't always like this," Alex answered, "I remember a bit more about the past lately. Memnon came to town one day during the Ancient Olympics. He seemed relaxed whenever he was with us."

"That was the past," Kotetsu answered.

Yamato looked at his senshi team with a nod as they all continued to fly forward, heading towards a nearby solar system.

"Not that one," Kazuki muttered.

"We have to find what's called the Methuselah stars," Takuya added, "They're said to be the oldest stars ever existed."

"Oldest stars, huh," Albert grunted.

"But wouldn't they burn out eventually?" Kotetsu asked.

"Those kinds of stars have different energies built into them than the stars we've seen in our own solar systems," Shouta replied.

"Interesting," Alex muttered.

"Those stars are said to contain energies still from the big bang, filled with so much energy that it seems unlimited," Yamato added, "But the distance to finding these stars."

I have to do something to expedite this, Alex thought, Macedonia Dragon Crystal…please…guide us to the Methuselah Stars…

This time the brooch glowed as everyone gasped to see Alex burning bright like a miniature star. Before their eyes, they felt a shift in space time around them before finally opening their eyes to see…

"Uhhh, Sandro, did you…?" Kotetsu looks at him.

"It's there," he points to what looked like a massive star, but it wasn't just any star.

"That's impossible…" Yamato gasped, "How does this exist?"

"What is it?" Kaede asked.

"It's a Black Hole but not just any mere one…it's Tonantzintla," Kazuki's eyes widened, "But how is it part of the Methuselah Stars within the Phoenix A Clusters?!"

"It must be related to Ton-618," Takuya speculated.

The massive black hole was visible in front of them with the accretion disk in a gradient of white, orange, pink, purple, and blue hues from the inside out. However, like any black hole, it had a dark central portal.

"Is Memnon really in there?" Alex muttered, "Is this the gateway to the edge of all the Universes?"

"Black Holes are incredibly dangerous, anything would just get sucked in after the event horizon," Yamato narrowed his eyes.

"But if Memnon's really there…and the Shadow Achaemenian Empire," he said.

"Every star has a doorway of some kind, if we can just locate it," Hayato suggested.

"We should be able to enter in there without being spaghettified or torn to nonexistence," Takuya said.

"Should?" Kaede looks at him.

"Sandro, your crystal has brought us here…I am sure it's locating Memnon and the empire," Yamato answered, "Let's all hold hands and focus on that location."

With this, they linked hands together and concentrated on the black hole and Memnon, their bodies glowed before finally disappearing. When they opened their eyes, they were clearly in the darken void of the Black Hole but there was no sense of gravitational pull of anything.

Sure enough, a massive door loomed in the vicinity. They all turned to see it before the doors opened to them. A redshift of light emitted from the other side.

"I guess we have no choice in the matter," Albert said.

"Let's go," Yamato looks at the team.

They flew past the gateway and found themselves in a really bizarre place that was filled with grass and some trees around. However, that wasn't what disturbed them. Alex noticed star-like mini objects floating around.

"Wait a sec…are these…" he recognized the crystals.

"Every Swimming Guardian has a heart-shaped crystal," Yamato added, "I am sure these are all victims of the Shadow Achaemenian Empire."

"I hear the sound of…water?" Hayato questioned.

"Over there, is that a river?" Toru pointed.

They cautiously walked over to see what looked like transparent water reflecting the outer space from above. However, this "land" itself was now looking more like a desert of some kind.

"I'm guessing we will follow this river or whatever this is…?" Kaede asked.

"No. Allow me to lead you over, dear guests," a voice said.

Everyone turned to see a massive-sized canoe with someone dressed in a heavy cloak, "Do not fear, fellow travelers. This is the safest way of travel."

Without much of a choice, the guardians carefully stepped into the canoe as the ferryman gently tapped on the boat with his feet before rowing gently across the way. At some point, they started to cough and feel dry in their throats.

However, the ferryman had other plans once they reached the fork in the river that split off in nine different directions. Moments later, the 'water' exploded as everyone gasped by the attack taking place. They all sunk in as Alex tried to call out to them before everything turned dark.

Idaina Magna

Gen 1.0!Alex gasped as he clutched his fist over his chest. He was spending time with his brother and family when the twitching struck.

"Brother, what's wrong?!" Sergi asked.

He breathed in and out for a few moments before answering, "Something's wrong…very wrong!"

"What is it?" the father looks at him.

"The others…" he breathed, "I need to get to them."

He gets up from the family room, "I'm sorry I have to cut this short."

"I'll go with you," Sergi answered, "And I won't take no for an answer."

"Fine," he nodded, "But we have to hurry."

"Call us at the earliest convenience," the mother replied.

The two brothers got outside as Alex summoned his Mizu God who also sensed the same problem arising with the others. The trio teleported to the Mizu Temple where they saw the Iwasame guys also struggling in ache before collapsing on the floor.

"EVERYONE!?" Alex cried out.

"Their bodies…they're giving out!" Sergi gasped.

"The necklaces…they're also cracking open with the crystals coming out," the older brother observed.

"Something must be happening outside," Mizu Marotta noted, "If those crystals vanish…they will disappear and trigger a collapsing chain of all existence both the living and the dead!"

The other Eight Mizu Gods appeared but they were flashing in and out like broken signals. They were low-key freaked out by this as the power of the crystals were dimming by the minute.

"This is bad," Sergi looks at them, "We can't let this get any worse!"

"We mustn't give up," Alex narrowed his eyes, "As long as we still exist, the stars will shine."

He closed his eyes and prayed to his other self out there in the Ominverse…whatever this final reckoning was leading to, there had to be a future, right?

Storyline B: Our Free!
Day 2 Nightfall

Marchand, Ceccon, Sota, Kentaurus, and Gaia-Ya were walking through the night life of Neo Sportsbrooke as they could see the banners and advertisements for the varying Olympic teams. Surprisingly they were able to grab some dinner earlier despite the currency confusion. Thankfully, an anonymous hand helped them get the meals they wanted.

"Amazing…there's so much color and art behind all this," Ceccon was in awe.

"I mean, we also had advertisements for our competitions but it's not like this," Marchand shrugged.

"Look! There he is!" Sota pointed to a poster with Alex in his swimsuit form looking proud and happy with a smile of joy.

"I wish we could go see him, but they're probably busy getting ready for tomorrow," Kentaurus sighed.

"That reminds me, where the heck are we gonna be sleeping?" Gaia-Ya asked.

"Perhaps a hand or two would be of help," a voice said.

The five turned to see a tall-ish figure but they immediately sensed something.

"Y-you're a Mizu God?" Kentaurus asks.

"I guess you are good at identifying those of god and human," Marotta revealed.

"Are you…?" Ceccon looks at this Mizu God.

"I am the protector of your friend, Ultra Suiei Marotta," he added.

"Could you get us to him if you are his angel?" Marchand asked.

"I was about to go to him myself, however…something of plight has happened," the Mizu God explained, "But you folks need a place of rest. I'll plan some lodging for you."

"Is he alright?" Ceccon replied.

Back at the arena hotel, Alex was still watching the night skies as he was calmer at least. The air smelled of chrysanthemums and roses with hints of cherry blossoms. All around the night life, lights filled in the blue darkness.

What I did back then, he thought, was it the right thing to have done?

Flashes of The Final Reckoning appeared in his head as well as standing before the greatest enemy of Chaos.

"No matter what, there will always be darkness and light…battle and peace…life, death, happiness, sadness…all possibilities…everything is all part of the Omniverse…"

"I will not stop…everyone has given their lives to me. I owe them for believing in me."

"That's right…we never give up…that is why…we are Swimming Guardians, the heart of all Sports Guardians."

With this, he got up and changed to his sports jacket and pants for warmth with his AirPods Max on. While he should be going to bed, something felt like he needed to go out for a quick jog. He carefully made his way out of the room before getting past the lobby and exiting the facility.

Thankfully most of the area was well lit as he ventured around the block or two, breathing and pacing himself well.

"Oi!" a voice shouted.

Alex ignored it. He kept his AirPods Max somewhat on transparent mode to keep some awareness of his surroundings. Finally, he bumped into three guys as he flustered a little.

"E-Excuse you there," one of the guys said.

"I-I'm sorry I…" Alex began but paused when he saw their faces and took a step back, "W-wait…"

"Almost didn't recognize ya there outta dem super suit," Ceccon winked.

"Y-you guys remembered…" he breathed before giving them a hug briefly before asking, "H-how did you managed to get here?"

"Our Mizu Gods were able to contact yours," Sota explained, "And thanks to the power of Cosmos."

"We heard something went down…are you alright?" Marchand asked.

"…it's a long story," he sighed, "I rather not talk too much about it."

"We won't force you to tell us but don't forget we are here for you too like the others," Gaia-Ya reassured him.

"Thank you. I'm gonna take on a jog for a bit," Alex said.

"We'll join you," Kentaurus added, "And saying no is not an option."

"Do you guys even have a place to stay?" Alex asked as they resumed their jogging.

"We were gonna get somewhere with your Mizu God but I guess you happened to come out here," Ceccon said.

"If you guys need some time, I…" he began.

"Oh no, we wanted to see and talk with you," Marchand replied, "After all, you have been the Greatest Light to all of us."

"I guess I was," Alex said, "As a Guardian…"

"What happened?" Ceccon looks at him.

"…I've been disqualified as a swimmer," he revealed.

"Oh my god…" Gaia-Ya gasped.

"How is that possible?!" Sota asked.

"It's a long story," Alex sighed, "But ultimately, it was due to a study of the video performance. In my heat, I was scored in 3rd place but the times did not add up to the semi-finalists that were chosen."

"That's horrible, I'm so sorry," Ceccon said.

"Are you still going to stay at the site or are you planning to go home?" Kentaurus added.

"I'm gonna stay and support them," he replied, "I don't wanna be a sore loser, but I am certainly hurt by this regardless. However, I cannot give up and a voice tells me to keep going."

"That's definitely how you were back then, never giving up," Sota replied, "You're strong there. I'm sure this little bit of a loss won't be the end of your career."

"I hope that's the case," Alex said, "But there's a long story about myself…all the things my teammates and I endured all these years."

"How about we get something to eat and enjoy ourselves for the night?" Marchand proposed this idea, "We should try to at least open up to each other more this way."

"I know a couple of places we could go to," Alex shrugged.

Morning of Day 3

With the five extraterrestrial guys settled in at a nearby inn, Alex returned to the dorms to sleep at the site again but planned to wake up just a tad bit later than the others. Prior to going to bed, he wrote a quick note on the needed extra sleep. The others woke up to see the note as they briefly chuckled among themselves.

"At least he's trying to keep himself busy," Kyle said.

"That may be, but we still have to get ready," Nagisa added.

Moments later, Alex's eyes flickered open as the sunrays were already hitting his face.

"Ah, seems like the sleepy dragon is up," Rei noticed.

Alex stretched up his arms and yawned, "Sorry guys, I'm just…a bit tired."

"Were you partying last night?" Rin asked.

"Not really, did some jogging around town with some people," he shrugged.

"Some people?" Rei lifted up his eyebrow.

"Long story," he replied.

"You're still gonna join us right?" Haruka asked.

"Of course I will. I'll be a bit late," he said, "Kinda need some more quiet time."

"Alright then," Kyle nodded.

Once they took off, Alex grabbed his phone and replied to a few text messages. He didn't want to share the bad news about his race, but he knew it had to be done. After sending the proper messages, he undressed to go wash up. His heart was still somewhat racing with stress, but the water was definitely soothing and warm.

His mind wandered back to Terabithia where he would take these kinds of showers after every Olympic race. No doubt they were soothing back then but being on the drugs certainly didn't help his mental health.

I wonder how Julius is doing, he thought, it's been a while. Hopefully all of them are resting peacefully.

IOC Conference

A quick meeting was established with the members of the IOC along with Miho Amakata, Stellaluna, the swim director Rikuichi Tsukamoto of the IOC Swim Division, Natsuya, and Nao.

"What has become of him since the news?" Rikuichi asked.

"Mr. Marotta has been undergoing a special training we've assigned to him," Nao replied.

"Special training, huh, wonder what that could be?" the coach asked with a narrowed look on his face.

"We are here to ask for approval of this match," Natsuya revealed a piece of paper that had something written on it with a photo of six people together happily.

With a look at it, Rikuichi replied, "That's just an old wife's tale. We don't need to add another race."

"Sir, you have reviewed the proposal, haven't you?" Nao asked, "Clearly your decision isn't made on a whim."

"Rikuichi-san, I think they are onto something quite grand, don't you think?" Miho asked, "I have enough resources to work with this project."

"Even if we did, what is the point of doing this? The old world and the former Aeuropa Capital Academy have kept the tradition of that many swimmers," he explained.

"And you're afraid of making a special celebration because our world, no, the entire universe has been saved?" Stellaluna looks at the human, "The least we can do is make this event a reality."

"She's right," Miho agreed, "How many times did they suffer just to make their happy ending?"

"That's not the point of how swimming works," Rikuichi answered before looking at Natsuya and Nao, "If I approve of this, what do you guys intend to do?"

"We have enough contacts and connections to make this a grand finale," Natsuya continued, "Regardless of if they win or lose, what matters is that they deserve to leave their story as a legend for this world."

"Of course, winning this proposed race would allow us to reevaluate and reconsider," Nao agreed.

With a sigh, Rikuichi was about to argue this proposal when the door opened as Mikhail, Goro, and Ryuuji arrived.

"You guys are late," Rikuichi said.

"We heard enough," Ryuuji answered, "The Articorans are interested of investing their future with this team."

"It'll take time for them but for sure they can make it as well," Mikhail agreed.

"I say for nostaliga's sake this race gets approved," Goro added.

"You're not even from this world…" Ryuuji grumbled slightly.

"Doesn't matter. I have history with them," Goro crossed his arms, "I say make this race happy and they'll win."

"More so, this will inspire many youths to follow the steps of these beloved Swimming Guardians," Mikhail added.

Rikuichi looks at the page again with a sigh. Clearly this was going to be quite the talk to come in the general public.

"I'll consider it," he answered, "But on one condition…this must be a win for the Iwamara. That's an order!"

"So, it's decided then," Nao smiled.

"You certainly won't regret it," Natsuya nodded.

As the others were already down to the main events for the Semi-Finals of Individual racing, Alex was finished washing up as he hummed the tune of La Solitudine to himself.

The loss was still somewhat traumatic, but he had come to terms with himself and his future. He thought about Kyle still in the competition, wondering if maybe winning the gold would at least be enough.

Maybe then, I can retire, he thought, Kyle and I…we're definitely old enough in Earth years. Even if I join the medley team, I'm afraid that I might cause a disruption and let them down. They don't deserve that from me.

He heard a loud knock on the door, forcing him to get up quickly and get somewhat dressed. Once he was in some clothes, he fetched open the door to see Natsuya and Nao standing.

"Uh, hi," he answered.

"We heard you got some rest," Nao said, "Do you have a moment?"

"Um…sure," he shrugged, "Is something wrong?"

"Oh no, quite the contrary," Natsuya answered, "Do you remember working with Masaki on the mental training?"

"Yeah, I do…but isn't he and his crew getting ready for their archery competitions?" Alex asked.

"They are but he's got some free time in his schedule to help you," Nao said.

"But…we're no longer under a threat," he tilted his head, confused.

"Perhaps but maybe, that stress of yours can be lessened," Natsuya added.

"If you remember from before the attacks, you were certainly getting worse by the minute with that anxiety," Nao said.

"Maybe but I'm good, really, I am," he said.

"At least do one session with him and see," the lavender-silver haired man replied, "He's expecting you by this evening around 7 PM."

Not wanting to argue, he sighed and replied, "Alright. Where am I going to meet with him?"

Alex arrived down to meet with the other swimmers in the video room as they see Haruka and Kaede in the first heat while Albert was scheduled to be in the second heat of the semi-finals.

"You made it!" Nagisa leaped in for a hug.

"Glad you're feeling a little better," Kyle smiled.

"Yeah, just a little," Alex added, as he looked at everyone in the room, "I'm sorry for being dramatic the last couple of days.

"You're good," Makoto said, "It's been a lot for everyone."

"Yeah," Rin added, "We're all still here."

"Absolutely," Alex smiled, "I'm so happy we're all here."

"No matter what, you are always our swimmer," Ai added.

"Yeah!" Momotarou agrees, "There's always more swimming to come even after this competition!"

"Just making this future happen for all of us, is more than enough," Sousuke nodded.

"I'm glad to be among you folks," Alex replied, "You're all like a family to me. All of you."

"Oh boy, now he's getting all mush," Kotetsu muttered with a slight smirk.

"I think we all feel the same," Ikuya added, "This is our day."

"Just don't give up…all of you," Alex said, "Don't worry about me. This is all for you, your happy ending."

"The Men's 100m Freestyle Semi-Final First Heat will begin shortly."

Everyone turned their attention to the TV to see the outcome of this fateful race.

Haru, Alex thought, Kaede…Albert…do your best.

While staying nearby at a separate hotel, the rest of the Marotta family gathered with the girls after the latter heard the bad news about Alex.

"I'm surprised you girls wanted to come out here so soon," the grandmother said.

"He's our father," Anastasia replied, "I can't imagine how upset he truly feels. I wanted to be by his side."

"He'll be alright," the grandfather answered.

"That's right, Sandro has been so strong and never gives up," Sergi said.

"I know but he can't compete anymore…" Anastasia lowered her head as Roxana rested her hand on the shoulder.

"That may be mostly true but there is something I should tell you girls about," Sergi replied.

"Eh?" Niki looks at him.

"What is it?" Maya asked.

"What do you know?" Laura tilts her head.

"You have to promise me to keep this hush-hush," Sergi warns them, "There is a little project going behind the scenes…kinda an operation if you will."

"Huh, an operation?" Maya looks suddenly confused.

"Ohhhh, it's like those secret codes like from Once Upon a Time!" Niki recalls the little bits.

"You could say that," Sergi replied, "Anyway…"

"Congratulations to all four of you," Rin cheers the glasses with the rest of the swimmers upon seeing Albert, Haruka, Kyle, and Kaede making it to the finals.

"Such a long time coming for you guys," Rei smiled.

"Woo-hoo!" Momo grins.

"It's thanks to all of you," Haruka replied.

"At least we'll have a good chance from someone in this team to get any of the medals," Alex said.

"Don't forget those other guys were pretty quick too," Makoto noted, "That was a dangerously close race."

"Haru-chan, Kae-chan and Albe-chan can handle them!" Nagisa grinned.

"Don't get yourselves carried away there," Seijuurou reminded the trio, "That final race will certainly be intense."

"We're wishing you guys all the best for sure!" Hikaru added.

"Don't lose sight of your path," Tsubasa smiled.

"I guess we're up next," Nagisa said, looking at the schedule, "Let's head out Iku-chan, Ko-chan, Ai-chan,"

"I guess it is," Kotetsu grunted.

"We'll do our best!" Ai smiled as Ikuya nodded.

The four make their way out through the hall with their red, black, and white jackets like Haruka and Kaede's. Albert decided to fashion his own gear and he donned his own clothing but does plan to wear the spirit animal version on the day of the finals.

Iwamara Coastal Estates

Articora!Alex dropped his bowl of acai fruit upon getting the text message from his original half. His eyes widened as he was on the verge of tearing up.

"What's wrong?!" Articora!Rei noticed the sadness.

"I-it's him…my other half…" he said.

"Oh no…" the megane answered.

"He didn't make it to the semi-finals at all…disqualified," Articora!Alex teared up.

"Oh my god, I…I don't believe it," he hugs his husband, "This is terrible…just how did that happened?"

"It's not like we've been on drugs or anything shady," he answered, "Damn, I'm so upset! This isn't fair at all!"

"It must have been a very, very tight race," the megane shook his head.

"We should go check up on them, if possible," Articora!Alex suggested, "I don't want him to feel to take this all alone."

"Well, if he didn't make the cut, maybe he might have some more time available, ask him," Articora!Rei suggested.

"Will do," he sent his response in the text.

After seeing the results of the two semi-final heats, the Iwamara team were in for a mild shock. Nagisa and Ikuya walked in with a sense of relief but…

"Oh no…" Alex looked at Kotetsu and Ai.

Kotetsu looks at him and adds, "Well, I guess you won't be the only one."

"Make that two," Ai said.

Alex hugs them both, "You both did very well, much better than I could."

"Those guys from Lha'li were just vicious, especially that drag in the water pushed on me," Ai recalled.

"It was hell on my end too," Kotetsu grumbled a little.

"Wait, does this mean that…" Makoto looks at Nagisa and Ikuya.

"We're both in the finals," Ikuya revealed.

"Damn," Asahi replied, "This is definitely gonna be a wild competition for us in the butterfly round."

"I'm a little nervous on the backstroke…" Momo started to feel like biting his nails.

"Regardless of who wins or not, we're all here still," Makoto calms him down, "We all made it this far. Remember that."

"I'll stay," Kotetsu added.

"Me too," Ai agreed, "It's not worth to pack up and go home when I still got the medley competition with you guys."

"That is true," Sousuke said.

"Yeah, that's the spirit!" Momo replied.

"I wonder how intense the medley relay will be," Alex muttered.

Gou sat down with Isuzu as they were watching the races from the lobby area of the Arena. They were going back and forth between here and the main deck depending on who was on the scene. However, they were both notified on some updates that were taking place.

"So, are we going to do this?" Isuzu asked.

"I think so," Gou nodded, "If the board members approved this…just imagine how beautiful this will be."

Isuzu nodded, "An ending for everyone."

"Absolutely," Gou smiled, "Natsuya and Nao were getting the supplies sent over here and that's why we're waiting for those boxes."

"But aren't any of those things fragile?" she looks at her.

"Yeah, but they have plenty of bubble wrap and more boxes to hold all the pieces in," Gou replied.

"I guess once those arrive…where…?" Isuzu rests her fist beneath her chin.

"We got a secure area for them until the day comes," she reassured her.

End of the Day

With the other races completed, more people ended up not making it to the finals. Aoba did not pass the semi-finals in the backstroke nor did Asahi in the butterfly.

But despite this, everyone supported each other and shared their tears before finally clearing up the end of the day routine. It was also revealed that the finals would get a different jacket based on their ranking.

I guess I'll never get my own set, Alex realized to himself.

"Are you alright?" Kyle asked.

"I gotta get ready for the mental training," he said, "Apparently I gotta meet with Masaki."

"Oh?" Kotetsu asked, "Could you let him know I said hello?"

"Sure," he replied, "Maybe we should also grab some dinner too at some point.

"I wouldn't mind that," the brunette-burgundy haired man nodded.

"Are you sure you'll be okay there Sandro-chan?" Nagisa asked.

"I'll be fine," he said, "I'm not sure why Natsuya and Nao are pushing me to do this but I'll find out what's going on."

With that he grabs his bag and follows the address on his phone to the other side of the arena complex, seeing Masaki and Minato in the distance. His mind flashed back towards that day once again…the final reckoning…the journey and the nightmare he saw…
