Anissa was currently walking around the building Monovista had bought for her clinic/community center, since her meeting with them had gone very well and even better for Gambi, who'd recognized the woman they'd met with, Lauren Caruso, who, to Anissa's amusement, was actually his ex who clearly was not over him and it was clear that the feelings were reciprocated.
Anyways, Anissa was very happy with the location she'd picked, since she'd chosen it for more than one reason, since before Monovista had bought it for her the clinic had been owned by the church, though Anissa had convinced Reverend Holt to sell it due to the that with Monovista's funding, the clinic would be able to do even more good for the community than it currently was.
But the real reason Anissa wanted this particular location was because she wanted to be able to control what was hidden in the basement. The one ASA asset that Argus had yet to find. Four metahuman pods unlike the ones her mom was working on right now, since these pods contained the most dangerous metahumans the ASA had ever created. Their most elite kill squad, the masters of disaster. She just hoped that when she revealed their existence to her aunt Lyla, she wouldn't try to weaponize them, since they were way too dangerous, considering three of them had tried to kill her and her dad in the old reality.
However, she was pulled from her thoughts when she heard her parents enter the clinic.
"I have to say Anissa, this place is very nice." Jefferson said.
"Yeah, it will be great once we get everything up and running. Monovista is currently working on reinforcing this place to handle metahuman powers and they've given me a large enough budget that in addition to the current staff now getting a salary, I can hire more people. Not to mention, this is only phase one of my plans." Anissa said.
"I'm sorry, phase one?" Lynn asked.
"Phase two is establishing housing for the homeless." Anissa said.
"Damn, I think you might be gunning for my position as Black Jesus." Jefferson said with a chuckle, which Anissa shared.
"I'm good just being Harriet. But there is another reason I picked this place for my clinic, besides the fact that it was already one, it just needs some upgrades." Anissa said.
"And that would be?" Lynn asked.
"This clinic is where the masters of disaster are hidden and they're the only ASA assets Argus hasn't accounted for yet. I just don't know where they're hidden, though Uncle Gambi is looking into that." Anissa said.
"Actually, I might know a better, faster way to find out where they are." Lynn said, though she couldn't believe she was even considering this.
"What is it?" Jefferson asked.
"We ask someone who already knows and I'm not talking about Odell." Lynn said.
"Then who?" Anissa asked.
"Someone who worked on the original program. Dr. Helga Jace." Lynn said.
"Wait, you want to talk to Jace about this?" Jefferson asked, since the last time Lynn had been in the same room as Jace, she'd smacked her.
"No, but I think we need to get her into Argus custody before the Markovians snatch her up again, since while she's insane, she is brilliant and the last thing we need is her in Markovian custody. Which reminds me, I need to talk to Lyla about an op to extract the Markovian metas to be stabilized and allowed to choose their own lives, since I won't allow the Markovian military to weaponize them." Lynn said and Jefferson nodded.
"I'll tell Gambi to set up a meeting, since as the highest ranking Argus agent in the city, he should have the clearance needed to arrange a visit." Jefferson said and Lynn and Anissa both nodded.
