Shion was in her and Robyn's dorm when she got a notification on her phone.
It was informing her that her battle with Robyn in the third round was about to start soon and that she should head to the stadium soon.
Shion sighed as she switched off her phone and remembered the notification of her battle opponent being posted.
It was two days before the start of the third round and she was hanging out with Ema and Lyna in the common area on a girls' night out.
That she is when she felt a buzzing through her handbag and pulled out her phone.
"Oh hey guys, I think my opponent for the third round just got posted!" Shion said excited.
"That is great Shion! So who is it?" Lyna asked as she sipped her soda through a straw.
Shion hurriedly went to open her phone and saw that her opponent was in fact… Robyn Westbrook.
"Oh wow! You are facing Robyn in the third round, that will be a great battle!" Ema said smiling.
Shion outwardly smiled but inside she was screaming.
Soon Shion entered back into reality after remembering the fact she still needed to get to the stadium and she needed to select her Pokemon.
She looked at her squad, obviously, she wanted to take Hyacinth with her as she was her ace but she was debating the other two.
"It dosen't matter about strategy, a Pokemon Battle is all about having fun you hear!"
Shion blushed as she remembered the advice Robyn had given her after their battle on the first day of class. Robyn really had been more than a roommate to her she had been a dear friend and arguably someone she could rely on.
And perhaps even more than that…
But she quickly banished those thoughts from her head. No! She was a battler and she was going to win even if Robyn was her friend that wouldn't stop her from giving it her all.
With a determined glare, she soon selected her Pokemon and soon made it to the stadium.
She entered into the locker room and prepared herself knowing full well that Robyn would be a tough opponent to battle against.
She soon slammed the door and soon heard the chanting of the crowd and soon took a breath
And then she went out for the battle that was ahead.
The crowd as usual was raucous as they were excited for the battle ahead of them.
"Welcome back to another day of glorious tournament battling for you fine ladies and gentlemen. Today we continue the third round battling between two of the best trainers here in the freshman course." Freddy George Jr said as he got the crowd insanely more pumped up.
Shion soon faced Robyn as they took the opposite side of the battlefield, both of them sporting a smile knowing what they have to do today.
"To my left, a aspiring master of Grass-type Pokemon and one who has continued to show us her stuff time and time again, hailing from Olivine City it is Shion Lovato."
"And to my right, she is prodigy who proudly represents Galar as she strives to be the best, hailing from Circhester it is Robyn Westbrook."
Both trainers soon got out their first Pokemon as the referee soon declared the match to start.
"Dahlia I choose you!"
"Luna you are the star!"
Soon a Grovlye and Cleffa soon came out as they looked ready to do battle.
"Dahlia use Leaf Blade!"
Dahlia soon sprouted blades from her arms and went to slash at Luna but Robyn told Luna to dodge before using Disarming Voice to stop Dahlia in her tracks.
Shion told Dahlia to break out of it with her speed but before she could do that Luna soon used Icy Wind and hit Dahlia for a super effective attack.
Dahlia soon picked herself up looking pissed as Shion commanded her to use X-Scissor but Luna dodged it again and Robyn soon commanded her to use Draining Kiss. Luna soon went as he put a kiss on Dahlia and drained her of his energy as she soon fell down knocked out.
"Grovlye is unable to battle, Cleffa is the winner."
Shion was shocked. One of her strongest Pokemon was out already and she soon recalled Dahlia thanking her for her efforts.
Robyn petted Luna before recalling him to save him for later and soon sent out her second Pokemon.
"Winston you are the star!"
Soon her Galarian Darumaka soon came out and Shion gritted her teeth due to it being a Ice-type.
"Gladiolus I choose you!"
Soon her Lurantis came out and looked ready for battle. Robyn soon commanded Winston to use Ice Punch to deal super effective damage to Gladiolus but Shion soon commanded Poison Jab to counter.
Both attacks collided but Gladiolus was blown away and soon Winston descended upon Gladiolus with Ice Fang before hitting Gladiolus with a point-blank Blizzard knocking her out.
"Lurantis is unable to battle, Darumaka is the winner."
The crowd roared as Shion sighed and recalled Gladiolus, she was down to her last Pokemon.
But it was the reason she believed she was still in this.
"Alright then… Hyacinth I choose you!"
Soon Hyacinth her Leafeon came out, looking to avenge her teammates' defeats. Soon she was commanded to use Leach Seed on Winston and she did, as she began sapping energy from the Ice-type before knocking him out with a quick Leaf Blade.
"Darumaka is unable to battle, Leafeon is the winner."
Soon Shion began to regain some confidence as she began to relax. Robyn recalled Winston and soon sent out Luna.
"Use Razor Leaf!"
Hyacinth soon sent razor-sharp leaves that were sent Luna's way and scratched her body.
Soon Luna tried to use Disarming Voice but Hyacinth managed to dodge it and soon quickly dealt with her via Leaf Blade attack and knocked her out.
"Cleffa is unable to battle, Leafeon is the winner."
And soon it all came down to this as Robyn soon recalled Luna and sent out her own partner, Artoria.
Soon both Hyacinth and Artoria stared down as both of their trainers commanded them to use Leaf Blade and Air Cutter respectively.
Soon the attacks collided and Artoria was soon commanded to use Aerial Ace as a way to finish off Hyacinth, but Shion saw this coming and soon had Haycinth dodge before using Leach Seed.
The attack connected as Artoria soon began to be sucked away before Haycinth managed to finish her off with Razor Leaf knocking her out.
"Corvisquire is unable to battle, the winner is Shion!"
Soon the crowd as Shion took in her victory, she was heading to the Victory Tournament alongside Tyson.
She soon felt Hyacinth jumped into her arms and soon cuddled with her as she saw Robyn smiling from outside her eyes.
Soon after the battle, Shion exited from the locker room and saw Robyn waiting for her outside the stadium.
"Hey! Shion! I have been waiting for you!" Robyn said.
She soon ran up and hugged her fiercely.
"Congrats on the win! I had so much fun during that battle!" Robyn said.
Shion noticed that Robyn was so close to her… and it felt nice.
"Yeah… I had fun too!" Shion said.
Soon silence set in between both of them as both of them didn't know what to say.
And then impulse happened… as Shion pressed her lips to Robyn's.
Robyn soon seem both shocked and surprised but she didn't move away and soon returned the kiss.
Soon however they were force to separate as Robyn stepped back with a blush on her face.
"Shion…" Robyn said surprised.
Shion suddenly realized what she did as ran off in embarrassment as she thought about one thing.
"Oh dear Arceus, why did I do that!?"
