Chapter 34 ~ White Widow
The White Widow screeched as it began it's assault!
Sora dodged several of the giant spider's legs, each one either aiming to pierce his tiny body, OR send shockwaves of icy mist towards him, with the power to freeze him in place!
Smacking one leg away with his Keyblade, Sora was able to avoid it's spear-like appendages until knocking enough away forced it to fall over and expose it's lower belly, making the icy giant open to combo attacks!
The White Widow however swatted Sora away while getting back on it's regenerated legs and being given some cover courtesy of Yumi's snowy fog!
Unable to be seen, the White Widow was as unpredictable as it was powerful, forcing the Keybearer to take a defensive position and wait for whatever the creature may unleash…
While watching from afar, Asuka watched in terror as she remembered this attack…
"...oh no…"
Yomi then asked, "Everything alright, Asuka?" Asuka shook her head and said, "Back when Yumi and I had a disagreement of this nature, Yumi held so much against me that she summoned that same giant spider-." Yomi then asked, "Don't tell me you got crushed like a bug." Asuka shook her head and explained, "Actually, I put up a decent fight…until she hid within the clouds and at the right moment, she sprung an attack tying together a tornado and a blizzard…it almost killed me!"
Sora waited for the White Widow to make it's move, but found himself exposed to a powerful gust of wind, accompanied with frost…
Sora turned around to swing his blade at whatever might be behind him, but no, this force was coming from the sky…
Asuka and Yomi looked confused at the different tactic while Shiki said, "OH I should've mentioned this in my Instagram, Yumi's been training and developing some new moves and attacks in case she encountered one of the Four Fiends. The Spider Hurricane is such an attack!"
Several Twisters began landing near Sora and forcing him near each with their pull while circling around them was a gathering of icy spikes and thorns that could shred him if he's not careful enough…
However, Sora jumped in one of the twisters anyway, fighting off the ice blades while taking advantage of the twister's pull and using it to fly high up to the sky, where he finds the White Widow, standing on a spell circle while Yumi was casting the spell of twisters and ice!
Swinging his Keyblade while focusing a Fire Spell on the tip, he threw it at one of the White Widow's legs, forcing the creature to trip and fall off the circle, with Yumi following in the fall!
Sora manages a few good swings on the creature while it lies on the ground with it's soft spot exposed, until the White Widow forces Sora away while lending Yumi a hand back upon it's head.
The White Widow decided to ditch the traditional attack pattern and breath petrifying ice Sora's way, forcing the hero to make a run for it while Yumi enchanted it's body, making everything the White Widow touch release shockwaves of Blizzard-based attacks, similar to the Ice Titan from Sora's first adventure!
Sora jumped over and knocked back as much of the ice as he could, but the speed and difficulty proved to be too much as Sora found his feet encased in ice and he was exposed to the ice breath of the widow!
His body was almost completely frozen while his head and his right arm was all that remained unfrozen…
"In the end, ALL men can't help but freeze to death over a woman's beauty!" Yumi said as the White Widow shot several Black Ice-like projectiles at him…
With no choice remaining, Sora used his right arm, which wielded the Keyblade, to knock away most of the Black Ice attacks, all while aiming them towards the White Widow's legs!
The spider eventually found itself unbalanced, and eventually, it's own weight forced the creature to fall over once more while Sora used his Keyblade to break through his icy prison and combo-assault like never before on the White Widow's stomach!
Asuka then cheered, "...yes…yes! YES YES YES YES-HELL-YES, WAY TO GO, KEYBLADE MASTER, SORA!" Yomi meanwhile clapped in pleasure while winking at Yozakura and Shiki while saying, "I guess your 'Itsy-Bitsy-Spider' went up the wrong Water Spout. Here comes the Master's Rain of Pain! WASH THAT SPIDER OUT, SORA!"
"ENOUGH!"
After the White Widow forced Sora away, both it, AND Yumi, jumped back into the story clouds…
Sora waited for the upcoming assault while the sun finally rose for the Morning…
And in a split second, a spell circle appeared overhead and unleashed more twisters with ice blades surrounding them…
Before Sora could act on a familiar tactic, the White Widow surprised Sora with a bodyslam, knocking him against the wall!
As Sora recovered, the White Widow crashed back down and released another shockwave, sending Sora flying!
The White Widow's new attack plan was somewhat stressful as Sora could barely gain the time needed to counter the monster's assault, but just as the White Widow finished it's 17th bodyslam, Sora decided to go back to basics and hop into the twister to take him back into the sky, where the White Widow and Yumi waited for him!
The monster shot several Black Ice shots at Sora, who managed to hop from one Black Ice to the other, until he stood on the same Spell Circle platform as the White Widow!
"Time for your last bungee-jump, Spider-Woman!" Sora yelled.
The White Widow made it's charge, trying to knock Sora off the slippery platform they stood upon, but Sora dodged, stabbed the platform to keep himself on the same area as his opponent, and shot a Fire spell at it from the back, causing the poor creature to skimper around in agony while it's behind was smoking hot!
"Slippery as Ice, isn't it? Can you keep your pet on top if a strong-enough force is pushing it?!" Sora asked. Yumi yelled, "Y-YOU HAVE NOTHING STRONG ENOUGH TO INJURE MY WHITE WIDOW'S SHELL!"
"Ars Arcanum!"
Sora then began to strike the creature multiple times, though it seemed uninjured, the White Widow and Yumi failed to notice the massive body of the spider was sliding near the edge…
Sora then made it clear where they were standing with several slow, focused, and powerful final strikes on the Widow's face, making the giant creature finally lose it's footing and slip off the spell circle!
But while Sora was victorious against the beast, the beauty upon it's head hopped onto the center of the Platform and began casting a new spell, which pulled the White Widow INTO the Spell Circle under Sora and Yumi's feet…
Sora then asked, "Alright, enough's enough, lady!" Yumi then argued "THE NAME IS YUMI, BEAST! Address a lady by her name before acting out of line!" Sora then said, "You haven't earned the right to be respected! You've tried to kill me ever since we met! Sure, the girls in this world have been dangerously obsessed with me for odd reasons, but you're one of the few I've met who think they have a right to kill me! And despite being attacked and stolen from by Xehanort, you barely have a good reason to hate me! Yet here you are, attacking me like I hurt a family of mice or something! I have put my heart into this fight because I want to see my loved ones again, but YOU can't seem to accept I'm innocent!"
Sora walked over to Yumi, scaring the girl while she was still trying to cast whatever spell she was planning on! Yumi then commanded, "Stop! I SAID STOP! I COMMAND YOU! Get away from me before I-!"
"-Please?" Sora asked after he held her hands and disrupted her spell. Yumi looked Sora in the eyes, and suddenly felt her heart skip a beat as his saddened eyes met hers while he asked, "Just tell me honestly, Yumi…what did I do to you? What did I do to anyone?!"
Yumi's eyes began to fill with tears, almost as if she could see inside her enemy's heart and see the suffering he witnessed and tried to fix…
Sora then wiped her tears away while he said to her, "...just tell me. If I did anything to you or anyone, I swear, I'll dedicate as much time as I've been given, to fixing the problem myself-!"
Yumi then pulled Sora over and kissed him on the lips…
Asuka, Yomi, and Yozakura watched in humorous shock as floating down to the Hanzo Entrance Plaza was Sora being embraced by Yumi…
Shiki then smirked and said, "Dayum, chick beat me to it…and is that Tongue I see her slipping?" Yozakura grabbed Shiki by the cape and asked, "Are you TRYING TO TICK US OFF?!" Shiki shook her head and said, "HEY-HEY-HEY, princess, no need for a fit. Turns out the butter-ball over there managed to warm that 'Grinch's' heart with his own. You see, there's another way to win the Trial of the Heart…and from what I can see, even Sora didn't know how he won…but chances are, Yumi will tell him soon enough…"
When Yumi released Sora, he smiled and said, "...I-I'm still not sure what that was about…"
Yumi looked almost intoxicated when Sora saw her…
…until Yumi just realized what she did, pushed him down, and ran for dear life away, hands on her cheeks as her face turned SO red, it was steaming while Sora was left to wonder what in God's name Yumi was doing and thinking…
It was then that Sora noticed water washing up to his feet…
Sora looked over to the sunrise, and saw the unexpected…
An enormous wave of water, rising high enough to touch a skyscraper…
"...Yumi…doesn't she know she was running towards that wave?!" Sora wondered.
Sora then hurried after Yumi, hoping to warn her before the strange large tidal wave could wash over and destroy Kabukicho, and all who live in the city…
