Confession Is Good For The Soul-Ch 9
The next morning everybody got up extremely early because they had a lot of things to do before the ceremony started, Derek and Penelope had to get up and get dressed in their street clothes and head to the courthouse to pick up their marriage license, when they got back home Fran had a light breakfast for everybody with muffins, donuts and coffee. After everybody enjoyed their breakfast Sarah and Desi helped Jack and Henry to get ready before getting themselves ready, they wanted to make sure that the littlest family members were ready before moving on to themselves.
Fran was putting the finishing touches on the cake before heading upstairs to get herself dressed and ready for her sons wedding, JJ and Emily got dressed and then headed into Penelope's bedroom to help get her dressed and ready for her big day, JJ was working on her makeup while Emily worked on her hair, when that was done they helped her into her wedding dress. She was standing there looking at herself in the mirror smiling, she said, "not bad Garcie, not bad at all", she then turned around and said, "what do you ladies think, do I look okay?", JJ and Emily both gave her a thumbs up, she said, "thanks girlies for everything that you've done to help us get ready for today".
JJ said, "we're just glad that the two of you are finally going to get married, we didn't think today was ever gonna happen", Penelope laughed and said, "yeah me either, me either", Fran knocked on the door and said, "can I come in?", JJ said, "come in", when she opened the door she said, "ohhhhh honey you look so beautiful in that dress". The dress that she had chosen was a simple floor length white sleeveless dress, she didn't want a train but with the way she looked in that dress a veil wasn't needed at all in order to make her look better because she was already perfect.
Out in the pool house Dave watched as Derek was walking around looking for his socks and he was carrying them in his hands, Reid grinned at his friend and said, "what are you looking for Morgan?", he said, "my sock, I'm looking for my socks, have you seen them?", Reid said, "aren't they in your hands right now?", Derek looked down and said, "how can I be so stupid today?", Dave said, "son you're not stupid, you're just nervous". Hotch said, "Morgan you're not the first nervous groom, trust me on that", Reid and Dave nodded their heads yes in agreement and Reid said, "don't even get me started on how nervous I was the day I married Jayje", Hothc said, "or me the day I married Em", Dave said, "and of course don't get me started about the day I married your mom, soooooo just trust us when we tell you that this is totally normal".
He blew out a deep breath and isad, "I still can't believe that this day is actually happening, the day that I've dreamed of for years is finally happening, I'm going to get to spend the rest of my life with Penelope", Reid said, "if anybody deserves to be happy it's you and Garcia, the two of you have been through so much and now to finally get your happily ever after is just wonderful". Derek smiled at the younger agent and said, "thanks pretty boy, that means a lot coming from you", Reid said, "here let me have those socks, let me put them on you before you forget and throw them in the garbage can or something" as he took the socks into his hands.
Reid said, "alright, sit down and let's get you finished", Derek nodded his head and sat down, Dave and Hotch watched as Reid put Derek's socks on him, he did it gently like he would help his son on with his socks, he didn't want to spook him anymore than he was already spooked, him along with the rest of the family wanted today to go off without a hitch and so far it had, well other than a nervous groom and bride that is. Dave glanced down at his watch and said, "it's time for me to go get kitten", as he started out the door he saw the minister and said, "Reid can you and the others help the minister, I'm going to go get the bride?", Reid said, "sure thing" and gently grabbed Derek by the arm and said, "come on nerves of steel", Hotch laughed and said, "now that's funny", Derek said, "mannnnnn, today is not the day Hotch" and that only made him laugh harder.
Meanwhile inside the house Fran said, "it's time for Dave, he should be here anytime now", no sooner had those words left her mouth did he knock on the door, she opened the door and said, "come in husband", he stepped inside and said, "well hello beautiful ladies", he then walked over to Penelope and said, "ohhhhhh kitten you look breathtakingly beautiful". She kissed him on the cheek and said, "thank you papa bear", he then said, "are you ready to get this party started, the minister is out in the backyard with the others and the groom is a nervous wreck", she said, "how nervous is he?", Dave laughed and said, "so nervous that he was looking for hsi socks while they were in his hands", the women all started shaking their heads and laughing.
JJ and Emily grabbed their bouquets and said, "we'll see you outside", she nodded her head and said, "we'll be right there", Fran said, "I'm gonna head on down too but honey you look amazing", Penelope hugged her again and said, "thank you for everything that you've done to help get us to this day", Fran said, "you don't have to thank us honey, just be happy, that's all we ask". Penelope said, "as long as I'm with Derek I am happy", Dave held out his arm and aid, "well then kitten, let's get you and Derek married", she looped her arm through his and siad, "sounds like a plan papa bear, sounds like a plan.
Dave smiled as they stepped out into the hall, made their way down the stairs and through the house, when they made it out into the backyard to join JJ and Emily JJ said, "are you ready?", she said, "as ready as I'm ever gonna be", the women all blew out deep breaths and JJ nodded her head for Fran to start the music. Emily grinned and said, "welllllll then, hereeeeeeeeeeeeee we goooooooooo" and Penelope and Dave watched as first Emily lined up and then JJ so that they could start making their way up the rose petal path so that the day she had been dreaming of since she was a little girl could finally come true.
