Merlin clamped his eyes shut as the immense heat washed overhead. He could practically feel the flames licking his skin. As Arthur's chainmail clad arm pressed against his side, it registered somewhere in the back of his mind that, unlike the knights, he was only protected by a thin layer of cloth. (Set in s02e13. Merlin almost comes out of Kilgharrah's attack unscathed.)

The Prince takes a deep, steeling breath, preparing for what he expects will be a very rousing speech; Merlin has gotten good at those recently. He does not expect what Merlin says next. "I have magic." An AU where Merlin reveals his magic to Arthur at the end of 3X13.

Lancelot got transformed into a rabbit. Merlin would like to maintain that this was entirely, one hundred percent not his fault. (Alright, maybe it was a little bit his fault.)

These subplots of The Passions of Pendragons follow the knights, Tristan & Isolde, and other original characters facing their own challenges and internal battles. The first few chapters are conclusions to The Sorrows of Pendragons that needed to be told.

"Merlin, you do realise that there are more comfortable places to hide from your chores, right?", Arthur asked. "Yes." "Good", he replied, trying and failing to shift into a position that would stop his back from hurting quite so much, "just checking." Merlin was a very strange person indeed.

Arthur meant to reach out to him, check him for injuries, but halted in his tracks when, for the first time, he noticed that it was a small girl that was cradled in Merlin's arms. "Merlin, who is this?" Merlin's grip around the child tightened, as though he feared she'd be taken from him. "She's mine," he said hoarsely. "Her name is Aithusa."

Arthur and Merlin have freed magic in Camelot. It has taken years—many, many years. But destiny has been completed. Freedom for sorcerers in Camelot. This is bound to be the longest bout of peace since the age of King Bruta of Camelot. And yet, despite the peace and freedom, one thing remains unchanging... Merlin.

Although Magic is legal, Merlin has been hunted out of Camelot. The Aftermath of the caused the citizens to hate magic. Merlin aids the young princess of Avalon Gate long enough to see Arthur's body is preserved in the sacred Isle, then comes in service of the family as a Dragon Lord. Merlin finds a sacred object and spell that could re-awaken Arthur's lying-in-wait body.

A series of short, unconnected, in-canon-reveal stories. Tale 2: Alvarr's attempt to recruit Merlin backfires. Tale 3: Alator investigates why Emrys is failing his destiny, and plans to teach the king a lesson in loyalty. Tale 5: Merlin trades destinies, rather than lives. Mordred becomes Emrys, and Merlin flees Camelot to keep Arthur safe...
