BOOlia's Tales of Horror 10

Big City Greens: Crop Circles

Cricket laid awake in his hammock. The boy couldn't sleep. Could it be because of the Bario Cart Ultimate Deluxe that Remy and him played on Remy's Bintendo Twist + that he brought from home or was it all of that pop that he drank while playing? He didn't know. All he knew was he couldn't sleep. He got up and went to look out the window. He couldn't believe what he saw. Could it be? There in the field were crop circles and there were several of them! The boy grinned from ear to ear. He heard of crop circles before, he saw them on TV and the Internet. But he never thought he'd ever see real ones, especially not in his front yard. He ran away from the window. He had to show his best friend this!

"Remy." Cricket said to Remy, who was sleeping. He gently poked him. "Psst, Remy, you're awake?" He shook him. "Come on, buddy, wake up!"

"Wha?" Remy asked, slowly opening his eyes. "Cricket? What's going on?" Cricket smiled.

"Oh good. You're up. Come on. I have to show you something. Remy looked at the digital clock on their nightstand and yawned.

"Now? Cricket, it's 12:30 in the morning. Can't it wait until morning?"

"Well, technically it is morning, bud. You just admitted it when you said 12:30 in the morning.'" Remy yawned again.

"You know what I mean. Go back to sleep. Night, Cricket." He went back to sleep. But Cricket wasn't having this. He pulled off Remy's blanket, bedsheets, and pillows. Remy yelped as he hit his head and shivered from the cold. His eyes opened and he glared at his friend. "Cricket, even the bedsheets?! Come on! That's not nice! Give those back!"

"Sorry, you'll get these back once I show you what I want to show you." Remy sighed. He knew he wasn't going to win this fight. He sighed as he grabbed his glasses and put them on.

"Fine!" He got out of bed. Cricket slapped his friend on the back. Remy yelped. "Cricket, what is with you? What was that for?!"

"I just wanted to make sure you're fully up. You do not want to miss this. Besides, I thought you liked it when I wake you up in the middle of the night." Remy yawned again.

"Not when I'm sleepy like this. Do you promise me that once you show me whatever it is that you want to show me, we both go back to bed? Your dad is going to freak out when he sees us both up this late."

"Yeah, yeah, sure, whatever. But trust me, Remy, once you see them, you won't want to go back to bed ever again."

"If you say so." The two ten-year olds went to the window and looked out.

"Lo and behold Remy!" Remy was confused.

"What am I looking at?"

"You have to look down, silly!" Remy looked down at all of the crop circles and gasped.

"Are those…?!" Cricket nodded.

"Yep! Those are crop circles and where there are crop circles, there are aliens!"

"Whoa, there's so many of them!" Cricket nodded again.

"There sure are!"

"Well, where did they all come from then?"

"I told you before, aliens."

"Oh, right. Well, time for bed." He was about to go back when Cricket grabbed him.

"Wait, Remy, don't you want to have a closer look outside?"

"Not really. Not until the morning."

"I told you before, it is morn…"

"I'm too tired to argue with you any more, Cricket."

"Then don't, but I'm showing you now!" Cricket dragged his friend outside who yelped again.

"Okay, we're outside now." Remy said when they both looked at the crop circles outside. "Can we go now?"

"Are you kidding?" Cricket said. "We just got here! I'm too excited. There's no way I'm sleeping now. Now, let's find them aliens!"

"Well, you find the aliens and get in trouble with your dad if you want to, but I'm going to bed!"

"Okay, you do that, Remy. I'll just be out here."

"Goodnight, Cricket!" He was about to go when he heard a sad, little whimper and was confused. "Huh? Wait, did you hear that?"

"I sure did, but didn't you say that you were going to bed?"

"I can't sleep now. I have to find out what that noise was. I think it came from this direction." He went in the direction of the whimper. Cricket smirked. He knew that his friend would come to his senses and stay up with him! The kids walked all over the cornfield. Remy gasped. Cricket ran to him.

"What is it, Remy?" He wanted to know. Remy pointed and Cricket looked and saw it too. He gasped. There, in the grass, was a baby green alien.

"Zagoo!" It said.

"Zagoo?" Remy wanted to know. "What does that mean?"

"It's alien talk, Remy." Cricket told him. "This here is a baby alien."

"Where did it come from? Where are its parents?"

"First off, space."

"Oh, yeah. I guess that was sort of a dumb question then, huh?"

"Secondly, If the baby's here, it's parents must be nearby. Come on, look for them with me." Cricket walked off.

"Parents!" Cricket called. "Oh, alien parents, we found your baby!" Remy was about to call as well when the baby started crying. Cricket turned to Remy.

"Remy, shush that baby! It's going to wake up my dad, mom, Gramma and Tilly."

"Uh, how?"

"I don't know. You were a baby once."

"Uh, that was ten years ago."

"Yeah, well, same here. Pick it up and cradle it. Do something!" Remy picked up the crying baby, cradling it in his arms. He was trying to make it stop crying.

"Shhh, please, stop crying baby. We'll find your parents. Don't worry." The baby kept on crying. "Uh, uh…."

"Remy!"

"Uh…" Remy tickled its belly. The baby stopped crying and laughed. Remy sighed with relief. Cricket turned to Remy with a smile.

"How did you make it stop crying?"

"I tickled its belly and it stopped."

"Cool. How'd you know that'll work?'

"Vasquez told me once when I was a baby and whenever I was crying, he would do that to my belly button and I stopped to laugh like that too. Since the alien doesn't have a belly button, I just tickled its belly instead. Apparently it works just as well."

"That's neat. But help me find it's parents before…"

"Cricket Green, Remy Remington!" The boys heard a shout and looked up to see Bill in the doorway. He had his arms folded across his chest and did not look happy.

"Uh oh, Dad!" Cricket said in a panic. He leaned over to Remy with clenched teeth. "Hide the alien!" Remy quickly hid the baby behind his back. Cricket looked at Bill.

"Dad!" He said. "What are you doing up?"

"I had to go to the bathroom because I guess I drank too much water before bed." Bill answered.

"Oh, adults and their unpredictable bladders, am I right, Remy?" But Remy didn't really get what his friend meant.

"Uh…right? I'm pretty sure kids might have that same problem."

"But when I was walking back to bed,…" Bill continued. "I saw you boys up. Any particular reason? You know, it's way past both of your boys' bedtimes. You didn't stay up to play video games and drink pop, did you?"

"What!?" Cricket said, fake laughing. "No!"

"I don't believe you and I'm too tired to argue. Now you two, go to bed."

"But, Dad…"

"Now, Cricket and Remy!" Cricket was confused.

"I thought you said you were too tired to argue with me."

"Now!" Cricket and Remy hung their heads in shame as they walked towards the door. "That's right. And Remy, I know I'm not your dad, but I promised him, your mom and Vasquez that I'd look after you while you are with us and treat you like my other child." Cricket looked at Remy.

"That means he has the power to yell at you too." Cricket told him. "Sorry bud, but you knew what you were getting yourself into when you came with us."

"That's right, Remy. Don't make me have to call your parents and have someone come get you over this."

"Sorry, Mr. Green." Remy apologized to Bill. "It won't happen again. Please, don't call my parents and have me picked up. I'll be a good boy, promise."

"Ok, I believe you more than I do with Cricket." Cricket felt a little offended by this.

"Hey!" He said. Bill ignored him.

"Now, go to bed you two!" And with that, the boys went back to the bedroom, unaware that the baby had escaped from Remy's grasp.

"I can't get in trouble with your dad ever again while I'm here." Remy said as soon as they were back upstairs.

"You probably will." Cricket said to him. "I mean, you're with me and we're growing boys, so no matter how much I think Dad's wrong and I'm right, that's probably not true." Remy glared at Cricket.

"I'm serious, Cricket. If I get in any worse trouble, your dad will probably have someone take me home and I might never see you again in who knows how long. I don't want that to happen, and I know you don't want that to happen either."

"That'll never happen in a million years." Cricket told him. "Our friendship is too pure for that. They will never separate us. Our boyish bond is too strong."

"Yeah, but how do you know? That may be, but you never know. All I know is, I don't want to take any risks. That's why in the morning or much later today at a more decent hour, we'll find Zagoo's parents and reunite them and they'll leave without your dad ever having to find out about this." Cricket became puzzled.

"Zagoo?"

"Yeah, Zagoo. That's what I decided to name him since that's the first thing we heard him say, besides sad whimpering." Cricket looked around. He didn't see Zagoo anywhere."

"In speaking of Zagoo, where is he?"

"What do you mean?" Remy looked around for Zagoo, then back at Cricket. "Oh no, Zagoo!" He began to look around. "Zagoo! Where are you? Zagoo! Cricket, help me find him."

"But we're supposed to go to bed, Remy. You heard Dad. You said you can't get into any more trouble, for if you do…" Remy glared at him.

"I'll worry about that later. But for right now, help me find Zagoo. That's more important at the moment!" Remy continued searching. Cricket smiled.

"That's more like it, Remy. You're turning into a rebel. I love it!" Remy just glared at him. "Right, look for Zagoo. I got you, buddy." He started to search as well.

The boys looked all over, but didn't find Zagoo anywhere. This worried Remy.

"I hope that Zagoo isn't making a mess of your house." Remy told Cricket.

"Don't worry, Remy." Cricket assured him. "If he's in the house somewhere, I'm sure he didn't get far. Let's try another room." The kids went out of the room.

They were about to head downstairs when Remy saw Zagoo in Tilly's arms when she exited her room. Remy ran to the baby, grabbed him from Tilly and hugged him.

"Zagoo!" He cried. "We finally found you, safe and sound!" He then was mad at Zagoo. "Don't do that to me again! You had me worried sick!"

"Goo, goo, za." Zagoo cooed. Remy marveled at this.

"Aw, I can't stay mad at you when you do that. You´re instantly forgiven." Remy hugged him again.

"Aw, parenthood." Cricket said. "It's such a precious thing, am I right, Tilly?"

"What are you talking about, Cricket?" Tilly asked her brother. "Remy's 10. He's too young to be a parent. We all are. Unless you mean how I'm a parent to Saxton, even though he's just a sack, then, yes, yes it is. But this creature that I found when it woke me up, is Remy's?"

"Yes, he is, Tilly." Remy said to her. "Cricket and I found him all alone outside, as well as crop circles. We wanted to find his parents, but it looks like now we have to do that in the morn…at a decent time in the day. I named him Zagoo because that what he cried out the moment we met."

"Does Papa and Mama know you're harboring this creature?"

"No." Cricket told her. "And you're not going to tell them, right?"

"I think they should know.´

"Please, Tilly!" Remy begged. "Í don´t want experiments done on him. He´s just a baby." Tilly sighed.

"Fine. I won´t tell. I´ll just feel terrible from keeping this big of a secret from them ís all." Cricket smiled.

"That´s my big síster, sís, Thank you."

"Okay, now we should get to bed." Remy stated as soon as he, Zagoo and Cricket were back in Cricket's room. "No more excuses." He looked at the clock. "It's almost 1:15."

"We will." Cricket told him. "I promise."

"Good." Tilly then came into the room. She had a little pacifier in hand.

"What are you doing here, Til?" Cricket wanted to know. Tilly offered Remy the pacifier.

"Here." She said to him.

"What is it?" Remy asked.

"It's a pacifier." Tilly told him. "It's just in case you need it for whenever the baby cries and you need him to be quiet in order for Mama and Papa or even Gramma not to get suspicious." Remy smiled and grabbed it from her.

"Gee, thanks, Tilly."

"No problem, Remy. I got it from Lisa."

"Who's Lisa?"

"The name is from one of Tilly's dolls when she was little." Cricket explained to him. He looked at his sister. "You still own Lisa?"

"Of course I do, brother. I still own all of my dolls. I never got rid of them because I want them to think I still love them even though I don't play with them as much as I did when I was younger. And thank goodness too. It turns out by keeping my doll, as well as the pacifier, it could really come in handy for you never know what'll happen. Babies are unpredictable and a big responsibility."

"Well, we're going to bed now." Remy said to her. "I'm sure this will come in handy."

"Yes, it will. Goodnight, boys!" She looked at Zagoo. "Goodnight, Zagoo!" She left the room. Remy was about to go to his bed when Cricket spoke up.

"Wait, Remy!" He said. "Before we go to bed, I want to know something." Remy was now irritated.

"No, Cricket! We stayed up past our bedtimes long enough. Can't it wait?" Cricket went to Remy and Zagoo.

"I promise, this will be quick." Remy sighed.

"Okay, It better be."

"Trust me, it will." He looked down at the baby. "Can you say bingo bango, Zagoo?"

"Uh, that might be too hard for him for now." Remy said. Cricket quieted him.

"Hush, Remy. That may be, but you never know unless you try. Tilly said that babies were unpredictable, so who knows?" He looked at Zagoo again. "Bingo bango, Zagoo. Bin-go bang-o."

"Well, you tried, Cricket. We should just go to…."

"Bingo bango!" The baby spoke, shocking both boys. "Bingo bango, bingo bango, bingo bango!"

"He said it!" Cricket said. "He said 'Bingo bango!' I, Cricket Green, am a baby alien whisperer!"

"Good job, Zagoo!" Remy congratulated him, "You are so smart." He changed the subject. "Okay, we should go to bed now before we both get grounded for a billion years."

"Agreed." Cricket agreed. The two said goodnight to each other and went to their beds.

Remy awoke to crying from Zagoo who was sleeping next to him. Remy looked at the clock. It was 3 AM. The boy yawned.

"Zagoo, it's 3 in the morning. Do you really have to cry at 3 AM? Why are you crying anyways?" But Zagoo kept on crying. Remy covered his ears.

"Zagoo, quit it! I'm trying to sleep!" Remy then sighed and got out of bed. He cradled Zagoo. "Please, stop crying, Zagoo. Please!"

"Can you please clam that baby up?!" Cricket said, irritated that he had to wake up. "I'm trying to sleep."

"Sorry, Cricket. I'm doing the best that I can. This isn't easy as it looks." Cricket sighed and tried to go back to sleep. Remy groaned then came up with an idea. "This is a lullaby that my bodyguard, Vasquez sang to me when I was a baby. I hope you like it." He began to sing a lullaby in Spanish. He rocked the baby while singing. He then repeated the lullaby in English. Moments later, Zagoo was asleep. Remy sighed with relief. Thank goodness!

The next morning, Bill called his kids down for breakfast. Both Tilly and Cricket came right away, but Remy was absent. Bill called him again.

"Where's Remy?" Bill wanted to know.

"He's probably still sleeping, Bill." Nancy told her ex- husband. "Or he is still getting ready. The country life is still new to him. He'll come when he comes."

"Yeah, you're probably right." Bill said and he began to eat.

Bill was cleaning the dishes in the sink when Remy finally came downstairs.

"Hey, Mr. and Mrs. Greens." Remy greeted them. "Hey, Tilly and Cricket. I'm sorry I'm so late for breakfast." He yawned.

"That's okay, Remy." Bill assured him. "Your food is still on the table."

"Thanks." Cricket and Tilly went over to their friend. Both kids were concerned.

"You okay, bud?" Cricket asked. "You seem to be out of it."

"The baby kept me up all night." He said to him and Tilly softly so that Nancy and Bill didn't hear.

"I know." Cricket admitted. "That;s why I moved into Tilly's room. I may do that again tonight and for however long Zagoo stays with us."

"Well, I suppose that is one of the downfalls of being a parent." Tilly stated. "Waking up in the middle of the night to their crying. Did you try the pacifier?"

"I unfortunately just remembered it a couple of hours ago." Remy admitted.

"Well, at least you remembered."

"Yeah, good thing." Remy sat at the table to eat his cereal.

"Well , this is concerning." Nancy said, looking at her phone.

"What?" Bill asked. "What's concerning?"

"This." Nancy showed him her phone. "Oh my, that is concerning."

"Uh oh! " Alice observed. "That doesn't sound good."

"What's wrong, Mr. and Mrs. Green?" Remy wanted to know. Cricket and Tilly were concerned as well.

"Oh. nothing, Remy." Bill lied to him. "Just eat your breakfast. Everything's fine. Nothing to be concerned about."

"Hmmmm, I'm not buying it." Cricket said. "What is it, Dad? What are you hiding from us?"

"I'm not hiding anything from you, son." Bill said to him, lying to him as well.

"A likely story! Why are you lying to your only son? Come on, spill it!" Nancy sighed.

"Maybe we should turn on the TV." She said. "Maybe the news can give us more information."

"Nancy." Bill said to his ex wife. "Are you sure we can show this in front of the children? I don't want them to worry." Nancy looked at Bill.

"It'll be fine, Bill. We can't shelter them forever."

"Yeah." Alice agreed. "They should know the horrors of this world."

"No." Bill disagreed, "They're too young. It'll shatter their innocence. I don't want that. I want…"

"Please, Papa?" Tilly begged her father. They both looked at her. "Whatever it is, we're ready for it." Nancy smiled and patted her daughter.

"I know you are, Tilly." She said to her. "You are a growing girl. You can handle anything, no matter what your father says."

"I'm right here you know," Bill spoke up.

"I know you are, Bill." Nancy responded before turning on the TV to the news with the remote.

"Terrible news!" A news reporter reported on the TV. She was outside. "I'm here in Big City where citizens from left to right are being abducted by aliens. Now, hopefully no children are watching this because this will definitely shatter their innocence if this turns out to be true." Just then, a UFO came from above her head and began abducting her. "NOOOOOO!" She screamed and the footage cut off.

"Big City is being abducted by aliens?" Cricket asked out loud. "Cool!"

"Not cool, Cricket!" Remy said, beginning to panic. "What if they abduct my mom, dad or Vasquez? Oh gosh, they could be abducted already! This is the end of the world!"

"Why would aliens be abducting all of Big City?" Bill questioned out loud.

"No idea, Dad." Cricket replied. They then heard Zagoo crying,

"What in tarnation is that?" Bill wondered out loud, "Is that a baby crying? Where is it coming from?"

"Who knows?" Remy said with a nervous laugh, getting out of his chair. "Now as you excuse me, I'm going to my room for no particular reason."

"Remy, are you hiding something?" Bill asked.

"No." Remy lied to him breaking into nervous sweats. "I'm not hiding anything from you, Mr. Green."

"The boy's lying!" Alice spoke. "I can sense it. Out with it, boy!"

"You better show them, Remy." Tilly said to him. "They will find out the truth sooner or later anyways." Remy sighed. He knew that Tilly was right.

"Follow me." He said to them all. They all got up and followed him.

Once there, Remy opened the door and showed them Zagoo. He picked up the crying baby and cradled him until he stopped crying. "This is Zagoo. Cricket and I found him out in the front yard. It was late and he was without his parents. So we took him in. We were going to try to find his parents today. Sorry we took him in without your permission."

"What is that baby?" Alice wanted to know. "I have seen plenty of babies in my life and none were like him before."

"He's an alien baby, Gramma," Cricket said to her. Alice looked surprised.

"Alien baby?" Cricket nodded. "Well, where did it come from then?" Cricket was about to answer when Tilly spoke up.

"I wonder," She began. "If Zagoo and the aliens abducting people in Big City are related somehow."

"You think so?" Remy wanted to know. Tilly looked at him.

"I do think so. I think maybe the aliens are mad that their baby is missing and taking it out on the folks in Big City. Maybe they are abducting them until their baby is found."

"I think you might be exaggerating there a bit, Tilly." Cricket said to her. "I mean, abducting a bunch of folks over one baby is pretty crazy."

"Your sister might have a point." Nancy said to her son. "If we ever lost her or you, we'd go to crazy lengths to find you guys, especially your father."

"But you wouldn't abduct people." Cricket stated.

"That's because we're not crazy aliens." Bill said to his son.

"Are you sure about this, Tilly?" Remy asked her. "All of this, just for Zagoo?" Tilly nodded.

"It sounds completely insane." She said. "But it's the only thing that makes sense in a way."

"Well, if you think that, then it must be true." He sighed. "I guess I'll have to return him to his parents in order to save mankind then."

"It's the right thing to do." They then heard loud animal noises from outside.

"What the…?" Bill asked.

"What's happening out there?" Alice wanted to know. They all ran to the door and Nancy opened it. They all gasped as they saw the animals all being abducted by UFOs. People were being abducted nearby too.

"Whoa, it's like a horror movie out here." Nancy observed out loud. "They made it here now."

"Stay close, kids." Bill said to his children and Remy.

"Hey!" Alice shouted, clearly offended by this. "What about me, huh? I'm just as important as the kids. I gave birth to you and I can take you out!" Bill grinned sheepishly.

"And you too, Ma." Alice smiled.

"Well now, that's more like it!" They all heard panicked bleating and saw Melissa being abducted. Tilly ran to the goat.

"Melissa, nooooo!" She yelled. Bill ran after his daughter.

"Tilly, no!" He cried out. "It's too dangerous!" Tilly grabbed onto Melissa's hooves.

"Don't worry, Melissa." Tilly said. "I have you. I won't let anything bad happen to you, I promise." Tilly screamed as she was being lifted off of the ground too.

"NOOOOOO!" Bill screamed. He pounced up and grabbed his daughter, forcing Tilly to let go of Melissa. Melissa bleated loudly as she was being dragged higher and higher into the sky.

"MELISSA!" Tilly screamed as Bill carried off his daughter.

"Run!" Bill told the others as he ran past them. All of them didn't hesitate and ran after him.

"Hold on!" Alice yelled to her family. They looked at her and gasped as she was slow moving. "I'm not as fast as I used to be. I like to be, but unfortunately, that's not how aging works."

"Come on, Ma!" Bill said to her. "I'll help you!" He ran to her.

"No! I'll only slow you down. Leave me, Bill! I'll only slow you down."

"Nonsense, Ma. I'm not leaving you."

"Leave me! Save yourself, your ex, your kids and Remy if you know what's good for you!"

"Ma, I'm not…" Alice was being lifted into the air by the beam. "MA!"

"The angels are calling for me, Bill. My time has come. Be a good boy and take care."

"Ma, you're not dying, I don't think. You're just being abducted."

"Take care and don't do anything stupid."

"MA!" With that, she disappeared into the UFO. Bill choked back tears.

"Dad?" Cricket asked him. Bill looked at the rest of the family.

"Let's go." And with that, they all continued running for their lives.

They then heard panicked barking. They all turned and saw that it was Phoenix running beside them.

"Pheonix!" Cricket cried out to his dog. "That's it, girl! Run! Run as fast as you can!"

A few moments later, they heard a yelp. Cricket turned around and saw his beloved dog being abducted. He gasped.

"You're not getting my dog, you aliens!" Cricket ran towards the UFO abducting Pheonix."

"Cricket, no!" Remy cried out.

"Son!" Bill ran towards his son.

"Bill, no!" Nancy cried out as well.

"Papa!" Tilly shouted. Bill grabbed Cricket.

"I got you, son!" Bill started dragging him away.

"No!" Cricket protested. "You can't separate a boy from his dog like this, you just can't!" He pulled away from his father and ran towards the UFO and Phoenix again. "I'm coming for you, girl!"

"Son; it's too dangerous!" He ran for his son again. Cricket grabbed onto Phoenix and Bill grabbed onto Cricket. "Cricket, let go!"

"No; not without, Phoenix, Dad! Why can't you understand?!"

"Son, I'm sorry, but it's too late for her!"

"No, it's not! She's family too!"

"And she'll always be family and sometimes you have to let the ones you love in life go! I know it's hard, but you have to let go!"

"NEVER!" Bill sighed. He threw Cricket to the ground. Cricket looked up in shock as both Bill and Phoenix were being abducted before his eyes. Bill looked down at him.

"I'm sorry, son."

"DAD!" Nancy ran towards him.

"Come on." She told him. "We have to go." Cricket nodded, tearfully and ran alongside his mom. All of them ran and ran.

"KEEP RUNNING, CHILDREN!" Nancy shouted at Remy, Tilly and Cricket. "DON'T LOOK BACK, JUST KEEP RUNNING!" As they were running, the kids didn't notice that Nancy was being lifted by a UFO from behind them.

The kids ran behind a tree, all of them were out of breath. Tilly then saw that Nancy wasn't with them.

"Where's Mama?" She asked. "Mama? Mama!? MAMA!"

"It's too late, Til." Cricket told her. Tilly looked at him. "We're the only ones left."

"What are we going to do?" Remy wanted to know. "Keep running? My little kiddie legs are killing me." Tilly looked at Remy.

"You know what you have to do, Remy." She said to him.

"I know, but…" He sighed and nodded slowly. "Right. I understand. It's for all of mankind."

"We'll go with you, buddy." Cricket spoke. Remy shook his head, looking determined.

"No. I have to do this all on my own."

"Okay, just be careful."

"Don't worry. I will." And with that, Remy ran towards the house.

"Good luck, friend." Cricket said to himself as he saw his friend go. They then gasped as the UFO flew above them. "Oh no! The UFO found our hiding spot. This is it, Til."

"It sure is, brother." Tilly said to him. "There's no use in running, so let's just accept our fates." She offered her hand to Cricket. "It's all up to Remy now." Cricket smiled at his sister and grabbed her hand too.

"Right. This might be too dark for kids our age to do, but you're right. It's all up to Remy." And with that, the beam started beaming them up.

Remy ran into the house and went to his and Cricket's room where Zagoo was. The boy picked up the baby alien.

"I have to return you to your parents now, Zagoo." Remy told the baby. "If I don't…" He sniffed back a tear. "If I don't, all of mankind will disappear. And that's not good." He ran outside with Zagoo in his arms.

"STOP!" He cried once he ran outside. "PLEASE, YOU HAVE TO STOP NOW! I HAVE YOUR BABY!" Suddenly, he and Zagoo were being lifted into the sky. "Uh oh!" Remy screamed. "NOOOOOOO!" Suddenly, the UFO stopped its abduction and Remy, still holding onto the baby, fell to the ground, Remy looked as the UFO landed and opened its doors. Two full grown aliens walked out of it.

"ZORY!" The aliens cried, running towards Remy and Zagoo.

"Zory?" Remy asked. He then realized something. "Oh, you mean Zagoo! Here you go." He gave the baby to the alien mother who bent down to retrieve her child. "He was here in the front yard, so I took care of him for the time being."

"We can't thank you enough for looking after him for us, little human child." The alien father replied. "By the way, I'm Zed and my wife is Zoraline."

"No sweat. I'm just happy that I reunited Za…I mean, Zory to you guys."

"If there's anything we can do to repay you," Zoraline began. "…please let us know now before we leave."

"Yes. I want you and your alien friends up there to bring all of the people that you abducted back on Earth where they belong. Please? Some of them are my friends and they did nothing wrong." The two aliens nodded.

"Yes, of course. Starting with this place." The other UFOS flew off and one by one, the animals and everybody beamed back down to Earth.

"Cricket!" Remy said excitedly when he saw his best friend. Cricket looked up at Remy running towards him and grinned from ear to ear, running to him.

"Remy!" The two boys hugged each other. "I knew you'll save us!"

"I did, didn't I?"

"You sure did." Tilly said to Remy as the whole Greens came towards him. "You're a hero."

"You sure are, Remy." Bill said. "I'm proud of you and I know your parents and Vasquez would have been too if they were here. You must be too."

"Yes I am, Mr. Green."

"Well, we have to go now." Zed told them all. "And bring down all of the Earthlings that we have abducted."

"Wait!" Remy went to the baby and grabbed him from his mom's arms. He looked down at Zory and talked to him through his tears. "Zory, I know we just met yesterday or earlier today, but I'm really going to miss you. Take care. I love you." He hugged Zory before returning him to his mom. The aliens and their baby went back into their spaceship. The door to the UFO closed and the UFO took off. The Greens and a teary eyed Remy waved goodbye as the UFO flew out of sight. Remy sighed. "I'm really going to miss him."

"Cheer up, Remy." Cricket said to him. "You still have me, your best friend in the whole wide world."

"You did the right thing, kiddo." Nancy told him. "Even though it was hard."

"And Zagoo or Zory will always be with you in your heart." Tilly told him. Remy smiled up at her.

"Yeah, he will."

"Just don't bring home anymore of these aliens." Alice spoke. "We don't want another catastrophe on our hands."

"No promises, Mrs. Green." Remy said to her. Alice sighed with a frown.

"Fine, well hopefully it doesn't come to that then."

The next day, Remy called Vasquez. When Remy told him he saved mankind, the bodyguard just laughed.

"That's a good one, Remy."

"But I'm serious." Remy stated. "I really did save all of mankind yesterday."

"Sure you did. Anyways…" The bodyguard said that he and other citizens of Big City were back, safe and sound. Remy sighed with relief.

"That's good to hear." Remy said. He changed the subject. "So how's everyone back home? Mom and Dad? Are you feeding Snaky?"

"Everything's fine, Master Remy." Vasquez said to him on the other end. "We miss you and can't wait for you to get home."

"I miss you guys too, but you guys are in my heart everyday." Vasquez seemed shocked at first to hear this.

"You are in our hearts everyday too, Master Remy. Oh and you didn't need to send all of the gifts you delivered to me, especially so many."

"I know. I just wanted to give you souvenirs from the Country. You deserve it, Vasquez after being the best bodyguard a boy could ever ask for."

"Aw, thanks, Master Remy. You're making me blush. But the only gift I could ever want is to see your 0cheerful face again."

"Aw, stop Vasquez. Now you're going to make me blush! But don't worry, Vasquez. I'll be back with you guys."

"Good. I'll be counting the days. I can't wait. I love you, Master Remy."

"I can't wait either, Vasquez. I love you guys too. Send my love to Mom and Dad too, will you?"

"You got it!" And with that, Remy hung up. Cricket came to him.

"Hey, buddy, guess what?" He said to his friend. "Dad said in honor of you saving all of mankind, we're going to Patti's Diner for lunch to celebrate."

"Sounds good to me!" Remy responded. "Are you getting a meatwitch?"

"It's my usual, so you know it. Are you getting more souvenirs for Vasquez?" Remy shook his head.

"Nah! I got enough for him last time. Besides, all he wants is to see me returning to Big City."

"Hopefully you stay with me for a little while longer, buddy. I like having you here."

"I like being here, too. I'm learning a lot."

"Welcome to Patti's Diner again!" Patti said to the Greens and Remy as she got to their table. "Any special occasion to why you are all here?"

"There sure is!" Cricket told her. "Remy just saved all of mankind yesterday!" Patti was confused.

"O…kay. Anyways, can I get your guys' orders?"

Patti and Vasquez might not believe that Remy saved mankind, but he and the Greens knew, and that was good enough for Remy.
