Louise Françoise Le Blanc de La Vallière came from a long line of established and respected nobles, who were renowned for their mastery of magic, her own mother was an absolute terror when she was active and fought in battle, her sister was amazing, and yet no matter what she tried to do, no matter the spell or enchantment for some reason Louise would either fail or have it cause a massive explosion destroying everything around her.

If this had been kept secret and nobody knew of it, it would be one thing but the thing is all magic families sent their children to study at the most prestigious and respected academy in the nation, Tristain Academy, and ever since she started to go there her life had become a living hell.

It was not bad enough that the very rival to her family was also attending, Kirche was a member of the family she had been having an almost never-ending feud with, it was not only that she was gifted with fire magic which not even Louise could not at least acknowledge, she was also one of the female students who got a lot of recognition and it was not only because of her magic, her body, and personality tended to make her quite unladylike in her opinion, but she was also known to have multiple lovers, dating even high grades, and she was shameless in her flirtations and her use of her sex appeal to obtain or achieve anything she desired.

It was no secret that both she and Kirche hated each other's guts some would comment that they behave like cats and dogs do with each other. Louise came to want to spend as little time as possible anywhere near her after the first lesson went horribly wrong and then another, and yet another people began to mock Louise, they felt that having magical power was the very reason some of their families were made nobility in the first place, and her failing to do a simple spell, to them she was a noble in name only, a complete and utter failure, and they were brutal in their taunting and insults to her, by reminding her of this every chance they got.

The situation got so bad that they gave her a nickname that infuriated her every time she heard it, they called her the Zero, and they explained that the reason was that she had zero success at casting any form of magic, so they equated that with having Zero talent, and some went as far to say Zero Worth, so the horrible nickname was born, and she was called Louise The Zero by her fellow students and they did not care to do so in public, and anywhere they saw her. These people either didn't care or understood that that nickname caused her so much emotional distress she was not eating or sleeping correctly, it was quite literally affecting her health and they still didn't seem to care much about her chagrin and misery.

The other thing that made students quite proud and to be recognized in the social ranking of the academy was the quality and skills of another thing, their familiars, these magical pets were summoned by them once in their lives, and they would remain by their master's side throughout their entire lives, the Headmaster of the Academy had a familiar mouse, whom he called Mortimer. And soon Louise would have to perform this spell and summon her familiar, if that was not bad enough this was done in their second year, so this had to happen soon.

The thing that filled her with terror was the fact that when the second-year students summoned their familiars, they were expected to present them to the reigning member of the royal family, in this case, it would be Princess Henrietta, someone whom Louise called her dearest and closest childhood friend, it was such a frightening notion that her friend would want to never speak or be near her that she spent every waking moment studying the summon familiar ritual, she read every book, which included many tomes that were from her family private library to prepare, she had to know this as good as the teacher or even better, she would not bring shame to her family by failing to do this one spell.

She was sitting in class almost dreading what was about to happen, when their teacher a very kind and caring woman began today's lesson. "Greetings to my precious students, today we are learning something that most Earth mages know well, the spell to change this pebble into a piece of bronze." The experienced woman moved her hands and did a series of wand movements as she said the incantation, tapping the pebble in the end as a light began to shine, and sure enough the pebble had turned into a shining piece of bronze.

Everyone was amazed at the skill and grace of their instructor and how easily she cast the spell. "Now I will need one of you to demonstrate this so that each one of you can feel confident that you too can indeed cast this spell, now I think Miss Valiere would suffice for this demonstration, Louise come on up and show us how this spell is done." Immediately when the instructor said this people began to make comments that this was insane she should have picked anyone, except Louise, this was going to be a major disaster.

Louise not wanting to disobey her instructor did as she was told, and sure enough, the minute she did the spell and her wand touched the pebble, a massive shockwave was sent through the entire classroom causing the very place to look like the small desk that the teacher had placed the practice pebble was blown to pieces, the seats right in front of the dest were seen having endured horrible burns, it was only because students who specialize in earth magic that they were able to raise magical barriers that the rest of the class remained safe, "Like we said instructor, nothing good happens when someone has Louise the Zero to cast magic." From the tone of who spoke it was clear that Kirche was more than happy to say this, mocking her once more, which was sadly something Louise actually expected.

Their mocking comments only angered her even more, they ridiculed her supposed lack of talent and this kept going through the hallways of the Academy, and even between and in the classrooms before the teacher arrived to teach each class, it was late in the evening when they began to discuss how everyone would be able to summon their familiars in a couple of days, but as this was as they were going to the mess hall to eat their dinner, one of them made a comment that made her stop where she was, it was Kirche telling the others that all of them should be able to do that but the one she expected to end up causing just another explosion was none other that Louise the Zero. She was such an obvious failure how could they expect her to summon anything at all.

That was it, the final insult and she had enough, "You can say that Zerbst, but you should know there is one spell that I know better than anyone one of you ever could and that is the summon familiar spell, just wait Kirche when I summon my familiar he will be so amazing that you will regret making fun of me! I will make you pay for all the nasty mocking you done." Kirche told her that it was not mocking her, it was stating from having watched her fail at casting so many times before. This only made her angrier than she already was, she knew she would regret saying this now but the pure rage and his comments only seemed to fuel her outburst.

"You all think I am a failure, a nothing, a Zero, well just you watch my familiar will not be better than anything you lot have ever seen, it will be amazing, like nothing anyone in this Academy has ever seen, and you will realize that I am not the poor excuse of a student you think I am, and you will regret making fun of me." She shouted so loud that every person walking on the grand staircase of the main building heard her loud and clear. The sad thing is many of them responded in ways that made her angry and a little sad, they laughed at the notion that she would be able to do something like that at all.

As soon as Louise got back to her room, she immediately regretted letting her anger fuel her decision and make her scream such things, she knew that her many attempts to cast a spell before ended up in absolute failure, and that she was not being realistic when she made such a declaration, but deep down she hated how people made fun of her, hurting her feelings true, but also smearing the name of her family, the very notion that they would say something that could anger her sisters and worse her mother terrified her. For this single reason she never once mentioned to her mother or sisters what was happening to her while she returned home for the holidays and summer break.

She went to sleep wishing that she could succeed in the summon familiar spell and that this would at least get them to stop calling a nothing, and stop making her feel utterly and completely worthless. Her tears fell from her face and onto her pillow as she went to sleep, much like many nights before quietly sobbing. Little did she know this summoning was something that would forever change her life, in more ways than one.

Saito was going around killing monsters as usual, doing quests as he lived with the other demigods of Camp Half-Blood, even after the main threat of Kronus appearing was swiftly dealt with and his defeat had saved the world, life continued after that, he was still very much living alone within the Hecate Cabin, and continued to receive both training and quests as time went by. He honestly wondered if this was going to be his life for hundreds if not thousands of years, on the one side he knew that doing these quests helped keep the world safe, but on the other, he imagined that if this was the only thing he was going to be able to do, then he would one day get pretty damn bored of the quests themselves.

The fact is that he had few adults that he could speak with, or voice his concerns, one was always in a foul mood ever since Zeus prohibited him from ever being able to leave the camp or enjoy anything with the slightest taste of alcohol. They claimed the man was the God of Wine, and other alcoholic drinks, but honestly, he never seemed to be that divine to Saito, he always complained and always had this rotten attitude, so he was not going to jump at the chance to either hear his concerned or help him out.

The other person whom he could talk with was Chiron, and let's face it, the only time he could ever speak with him was during combat training or exercise, and that would only earn him even tougher training, in his own words if you have enough time to waste it trying to talk with him, it means that you feel the training is simply too easy, so they would need to increase it to rectify that. Chiron was known in myth and legend as the trainer of heroes, he had trained so many of the legendary heroes that some asked if he achieved godhood.

Saito on his part considered him the drill instructor from hell, one that if angry made the one from the movie Full Metal Jacket look like an absolute joke, his punishments were severe and he was demanding and strict with every single person within the camp, he would often say that he is strict but fair, but the standards he used to measure success were not the same as any normal humans, after all the man was a centaur.

His training regiment made other campers feel like they had a much easier time of it, it didn't even stop at night, in the day Saito would get training by Chiron, and sometimes his uncle would come by to teach him some new methods of combat, or how to use a weapon Saito has never seen, at night, his mother and father would lecture him and instruct him on magic, if Saito was honest, he liked to spend time with his parents but they always had this serious look on their faces that made him think there was a reason why they were training him like he was going to go to the Olympic games, and his very life depended on him winning the gold medal.

Zeus at first wanted to keep the ancient law in effect, but after realizing the entire mess with Kronus only happened because of what that law actually did, every god on Mount Olympus was against the idea of keeping that law in effect, they could not get rid of the damn thing fast enough in the opinion of some of them. Zeus and several of the other gods only complained about it, but it was easy to see the reason for it, they could not be contacted by their many, many, kids. It seems some of these deities, even after making an oath to stop conceiving demigods, continued to do so, leading them to have quite many children.

Saito was the son of the Goddess Hecate, and a mortal man whose knowledge of magic and intellect initially attracted the attention of Athena, but as fate would have it, Hecate upon meeting this man, felt something she never did before, something Aphrodite was quite to declare that she was deeply in love, and that is how Saito came to be born. His mother and father taught him things most of the other demigods considered pure fiction, there was no way that the supposed game powers were real.

The sad truth is they were, and under the tutelage of his parents he quickly became one of the more knowledgeable and skilled wizards that lived, many hours that most spent just resting he spent learning, in the day he trained his body to perfection, he was a capable warrior and skilled tactician when he slept he trained his mind, and his magical abilities made it easy for people to realize that indeed this person was the son of Hecate, his very words carried magical power and had it not been for his parents training he held enough power to destroy the world without even trying.

No matter how many quests he went with his friends and he fought things that would give people nightmares, he could not help but think that all this excessive teaching and training had to have a purpose, a reason. The fact is that he had a feeling like he was being prepared to fight something that made the fight against Kronus feel like a slight warm-up routine.

Nobody would tell him why this was the case, what was he going to face, or even what would happen to him, no matter who he asked, he was only told you will see until he flat out demanded to be told what was going on, he needed to know why was he being pushed this hard. His mother seeing his agitation finally decided to tell him. "Son, you know all those Isekai Anime you have seen growing up right? Well, sadly we were told that you would be sent to another world much like in those stories. The fates told us you would face something that threatened everything in reality, and that something is an evil primordial dark dragon. No one has been able to defeat that damn thing in thousands of years, and right now they can only keep it asleep."

Saito could hardly believe this, existence itself was being threatened by this thing, and the only solution they had so far was to keep it asleep. His father commented that it wasn't even working, it was only a matter of time before some fool or an insane cult tried to awaken the damn thing, and if the dragon destroyed that world, he would only grow in power with each world it destroyed.

"So you see son, it is not that we want to push you with unreasonable demands, we know that you are sacrificing spending time with your friends and having fun, but the danger is far too great, and sadly you are the only hope we got to face that dragon. That is why you are being trained and taught like this, and why you had little to no time for your own personal life, I know I am sorry to put this on your shoulders my son, but you are quite literally our only hope."

Saito understood the reasons, he understood why his training was so important, he didn't like it by any means, but the fact that everyone he knew and cared about would be killed by that dragon, made him realize that he too needed to push himself even more than what he was going through, he would not be the cause for his friends to die if he could help prevent it. So with this, his mindset changed.

Where he once complained of his training, now he asks for more, more advanced knowledge, harder training, where in his lessons before he would only listen and do as he was told, he now actively participates and asks questions, looking for ways to push his magic power higher, prefect his skills faster. Chiron was taken back by this, it was like training a young Heracles all over again, and much like him, Saito was not going to relent or let anything get in his way of becoming a hero much like those in legend.

Saito did have a sort of unexpected consequence of his now Spartan mentality, it gained the attention of quite a few girls in the camp and quite a few of the goddesses that visited the camp, Artemis would always watch him practice his weapons training, and it was not hard to see that she had some interest in doing that.

So much so that she began to teach him things too, how to fight, how to track, how to traverse through the land as if it was nothing, Athena gave him lessons on strategy that would make most generals simply be confused by the complexity of these lessons, and since these two taught him all this, it also caused him to gain the attention of Ares, who was furious at how much attention he was getting. Ares apparently wanted to be the center of attention and hated Saito and challenged him to fight, Saito considered it friendly sparing matches and used this to practice what he learned about combat.

Percy and Annabeth with their harem of girls and women had become quite the close couple and Saito was looking forward to the day when his two friends finally decided to throw caution to the wind and proclaim their true feelings to their harem, eventually getting to the point where they could end up getting married. Saito on the other hand was far too busy to actually think about dating, much less attempting to enter into a romantic relationship. His daily training, his frequent fights against the God of War, and his constant experiments on forging and weapon designing kept him far too busy to even think of that.

The one thing he absolutely had to make time for was hunting and killing monsters, the remnants that once followed Kronus were not a bunch that could be left alone for too long, they would attempt to break through the camp defenses or worse attempt to hunt and devour innocent people. So these monsters were the reason why he went hunting and killing them so often. The very idea that some innocent died because he did nothing terrified him, so much so that is why, unlike the other campers, no one had to ask him twice to go on a hunt.

Grover called him over and asked him one question, why was he hunting monsters like he just become an unofficial member of Artemis' hunters. They were not going to go anywhere, even if killed more of them would eventually come, so why put this much effort into it, just do it when asked, but no need to push himself is there? Saito looked at Grover and told him that if these monsters killed an innocent person would he be happy to take responsibility for that, since that person only died due to him being lax in his duties?

"Grover these people have the benefit of taking it easy, unfortunately, I don't. If I do not become as strong as I can be, if I do not improve enough, then it will not matter at all because this world will be gone, I received a prophecy and it pits me against something that considers worlds to be that thing's snacks. It eats worlds and grows ever more powerful, and if he succeeds my father, mother, and even my step-mothers will all die, so taking it easy is not going to be in my future for a very long time if ever."

Grover looked at him and told him from the way he was talking about it, he thought that he had to stop the end of the world, or something as crazy as that, to which Saito told him they already did once when they fought Kronus, but now he had to be ready to be sent to another world, and in that world he had to face a monster that made Kronus look like a pathetic joke by comparison. In truth, there is a chance he will fail and if he does he will die and never get to return.

Grover said that as a protector he knows that sort of fate only too well, but what will happen if he wins, Saito simply told him that he has no idea, it could be that he could return home, a pathway between both worlds could open, or he would end up having to live in that other world for the rest of his natural life. That is why no matter how many of the girls in camp showed interest in him, he could not accept their declarations of love, because deep down he did not know if he would ever see them again after he was sent to that other world.

Of course, it didn't help matters that several of the girls who clearly were interested in pursuing a relationship with him, were the daughters of someone, whose father would not be happy to see him date any of his daughters, ever. Grover asked him what does he meant by that and that is when he pointed at the girls giggling and looking at Saito while standing by the door to the Ares Cabin. "Ares fights against me three times a week Grover, if I even showed any interest in any of his daughters the guy would flat-out try and murder me!"

Well, that wouldn't be so bad, if he died, he could go to Mount Olympus and ascend to godhood nothing wrong with that, that is when Saito told him everything about the prophecy and made him realize what was wrong with that, the problem if he died and obtained godhood he would not be able to stop the world-devouring dragon, and then it would not matter because the dragon would be so strong that it would devour their very reality, so he understood why Saito avoided to show any romantic interest in these girls, and deep down he called it a heroic sacrifice.

The father was a colossal jerk, an absolute pain in the ass, and a potential hellish nightmare as a future father-in-law, but that did not detract from the fact that his daughters were absolutely amazing in both fighting potential and looks. This made Grover accept that his friend Saito was actually making a really good decision doing this and asked Saito if there was anything he could do to help him.

Saito mentioned that other than getting him some weapons and armor made by Hephaestus nothing else came to mind, his training was strictly organized, planned, and structured, his lessons would prepare him better than any place in their world, and if he could not get weapons and armor, he wished he could at least get a more decent set of weights so that he could continue to push himself, the ones they used at the camp, he actually could lift them with little difficulty. "And he wonders why the daughters of Ares want to date him," Grover said while shaking his head.
