Chapter 10: A new perspective
Abuela Alma: " You should have told me the second you saw that vision".
Augustin : " I was thinking of my daughter ".
Abuela Alma : "Pepa you have a cloud ".
Pepa: "I'm trying ".
Felix:"Yes".
Pepa: "Your lucky it's not a hurricane "
"Gracias Papá ". Mirabel thanked
"You don't need to thank me Mija it was long overdue ". Augustin starts
Julieta: "Mamá you have always been too hard on Mirabel ".
Abuela Alma : "Look around we must protect our family our Encanto ".
"I am sorry señora your granddaughter is missing and all you care about is your home!?" Rosa yelled
Alma shrunk in her seat.
"Really Mamá ". Bruno shook his head
"I agree with Tio Bruno I should have said something ". Isabela said
"Guys I am ok I wasn't in any danger ". Mirabel interrupts
"Still Mira She should have thought about it " Socorro pouted
"For the last time I am fine". She reassured
Abuela Alma: " We cannot loose our home".
Just then a townsperson entered looking very anxious.
Townsperson: "Señora perdon people are becoming anxious of the magic they want to see you ".
"Really her granddaughter is missing I think the magic should be prioritised later". Abel shouted
"I agree". Rosa nodded
"I am so sorry Mija I should have thought about it". Alma apologises
"You don't need to apologise you had to deal with a lot". Mirabel replies
"That is no excuse ". Alma starts
Abuela Alma : " Mirabel was in that vision for a reason find her".
Meanwhile Mirabel and Bruno were setting up for the vision in Antonio 's room.
Mirabel: "You might want to hurry".
Bruno : "You can't hurry the future ". He stated whilst pouring sand to start the vision
As he poured the sand he nervously laughed as a capybara sat unamused.
"He looks so unbothered ". Coco chuckled
"Si that's Chipsi for you Señora he is just stubborn ". Antonio smiled
Bruno: "But if I see something that you don't like your going to be all : Bruno makes bad things happen, oh he is creepy and his vision killed my goldfish".
"Tio don't be like that it's not good thinking ". Luisa scolds lightly
"Si I agree Amigo that's not healthy to think like that". Héctor agreed
"I know another habit I need to break I am just so used to it". Bruno continues
"Well lucky we are here to help you break it". Layla said
"Si Gracias ". Bruno thanked
Mirabel: "Well I don't think you make things happen sometimes family weirdos just get a bad rap".
"Ay Mira Mija never change". Julieta smiled
"Gracias Mariposa ". Bruno thanked
"You don't need to thank me Tio". Mirabel smiled
Mirabel:" You can do this".
Just then Antonio rode up on parce then handing his stuffed Jaguar Parce jr to His estranged Uncle.
Antonio:"For the nerves ".
"Thank you Monito I really appreciate it and your help". Bruno smiled
"No problem Tio you can borrow him anytime you need him". Antonio piped
"Besides He has got a real Jaguar to keep him company". Rosa laughed
"Si your not wrong". Pepa laughed
Bruno:" I can do this, I can do this, I can do this". He chanted
Bruno then threw some salt over his shoulder he then lit piles of sage with flames closed his eyes and concreted. As that was happening the clouds over the Encanto grew darker andAlma and the townspeople were concerned as the wind started to pick up, Bruno 's door starts to glow a deep orange showing that his powers are being used.
Bruno: " You might want to hang on". He held his hands out
Mirabel took his hands and the vision started Bruno opened his eyes as they turned a deep light emerald.
"Does this happen every time Mijo?" Pedro asked
"Si every time". He answers
Sometimes it happens in spurs and it hurts, But hey nothing I can't handle ". Bruno adds
"Alright just be careful ". Pedro says
"Si Papa". Bruno smiles
The vision then started showing The windowsill where the candle lay showing the candle being knocked down and the windowsill breaking, next showing the mountains and the house breaking as well as Felix moving with Antonio and fast and then turning to Mirabel with the house behind her.
Both families were on the edge of their seats watching the events play out.
"What's happening!?" Isabela shouted
"Okay this is freaky ". Manny said
"Yep". Oscar nodded
"Hold On What does have to do with Mira?" Miguel asked
"Be patient we are getting there". Layla stated
As Mirabel was looking at herself in the vision she saw it change with the house cracking behind her.
Bruno: "It's just the same thing I gotta stop".
Mirabel: "No I need which way it goes there has got be an answer something we are not seeing".
"Lo siento Tio I didn't to push you but we had to figure out a way ". Mirabel cried
"No no no absolutely not Mija you were right I wasn't seeing the full picture ". Bruno replied
Mirabel turned her head to her Tio he went over and comforted her and he hugged her tightly and she smiled.
"It 's not your fault Mija; Mariposa do you understand me?" Bruno states firmly
"Si it's just…" Mirabel was stopped
Bruno waved his finger in the air and stated very clearly.
"Ah Ah Ah this is not your fault okay I don't want to hear it". Bruno said
"Your Tio's right Mariposa it is not your fault if anything you helped see the problem looked for a new perspective a new angle". Pedro explains
"You really think so?" Mirabel tilted her head
"Si ". Pedro smiles
Bruno: "Look your looking at the same thing I am if there was something else-"
Mirabel: "Look there". She pointed toward the butterfly
Bruno: "A butterfly follow the butterfly ".
"Told you". Mirabel smiled
"Yep". Bruno chuckled
"That's why I call you Mi Mariposa ". Bruno added
"Si". Mirabel laughed
The next scene shows shows the vision changing to some kind of body of water and the bright yellow butterfly landing on a blade of grass .
Mirabel: " Where is that?"
Bruno : "it's- It's all out of order ".
Then the vision showed the candle but this time is glowing brighter.
Bruno: "It's the candle I think your gonna help the candle ".
Mirabel: " How?"
Bruno: "There's someone with you and you fight her".
"Bruno please tell me my daughter is off to fight someone ". Julieta sighed
"Relax Julie we are getting there and besides do you think I'd let her fight someone ". Bruno chuckled
"Yes, yes you would". Camilo starts
"Really I don't think he would". Imelda joined
"I agree ". Héctor adds
"It was a rhetorical question ". Bruno starts
"Still I don't think Mirabel would win". Camilo shook his head
"Hello I am right here and I did tie you up to a chair keep in mind". Mirabel retorted
"Fair point". Dolores smirked
"Alright settle down please ". Layla chided
Bruno: " Wait is that a hug!?"
Mirabel: " Am I fighting or hugging!"
"Because she can't do both". Coco pointed out
"Hold On I am getting there ". Bruno finished
Bruno: " An embrace to make the candle bright you have to embrace her".
Mirabel: " Embrace Who!"
The vision slowly turned into a figure .
Bruno: " Almost there Almost there".
The vision then turned to the face of Isabela
Bruno: " Oh oh I got it".
Mirabel: " Isabela!?"
"Me why me?!" Isabela shouted
Both families turned to the girls
"You know there would have been solutions ". Mirabel replies
"Si … wait is this why you came to me". Isabela's head clicked
"Si Isa Lo siento ". Mirabel apologises
"So let me get this straight the only you wanted to hug me was because of Tio's Vision ". Isabela explains
Mirabel chuckled nervously
"Mira". Isabela gave a warning tone
"At first… But then I realised it was more than just a hug it was about rebuilding a relationship " Mirabel replies honestly
"Fair point we didn't have the best relationship as we got older". Isabela finished
"Si, but if I didn't do it I would never know how you felt". Mirabel smiled
"Aw Mira I Am glad we fixed this to me you'll always be my little sister ". Isabela walks to her and hugs her sister tightly.
"Not me all this sappy stuff is weird I liked it better when you guys hated each other". Camilo shook off
Isabela looked and Mirabel laughed and looked at each other with a knowing look.
"Do you want me to tie you to the chair with Isa's vines again?" Mirabel smirked
"On second thought you girls do your thing ". Camilo rambled
The girls high fived each other and went back to their seats all the adults smiled at the two girls newly rebuilt relationship.
"Not bad". Miguel laughs
"Trust me it's gets him every time". Mirabel replies
The next scene shows the vision finally stopping and sand pouring down whilst Bruno had the vision in his hands.
Bruno: "Oh your sister that's great".
Mirabel groaned annoyed.
Bruno: "Everytime".
"Lo siento Tio I know That's not okay if anything I should thank you it's not bad I just needed another angle that's all". Mirabel apologises
"Estas bien Mija I have been through worse visions trust me". Bruno said
"You shouldn't have to". Mirabel saddens
"It's okay Mariposa I am back and that's all I need". Bruno smiled
Bruno then tossed the vision onto the floor smashing it.
"Please tell me you cleaned up the vision before you left". Felix asked
"Si Tio it is all taken care of I cleaned it up before we left ". Mirabel reassures
"Gracias Mira". Pepa thanked
The next scene shows Mirabel and Bruno hiding behind the banister to avoid being seen.
Mirabel: " Why would embracing Isabela do anything ".
Bruno: " I don't know our family has got a Miracle how do you help a Miracle you hug a sister".
Just then the two hid behind the banisters to avoid getting seen by Camilo who was looking for Mirabel.
Camilo: "Ugh Mirabel".
Camilo then transformed into a baby face and with tiny hands.
Baby Camilo: "Mirabel ".
Dolores lost at laughter she nearly fell off her chair and so did Isabela and Mirabel followed by Luisa and some of the Rivera family.
"It's not funny". Camilo pouted
"No its hilarious". Mirabel laughs
Mirabel walked away for a bit over to the other side of the room.
"I'm gonna need a minute ". Mirabel says through fits laughter
"I'm going with you". Luisa added
~ 5 Minutes later ~
After the laughter and chaos had stopped they apologised to Camilo and then went back to there seats.
Bruno: "I think we are running out of time here".
Mirabel: " Hugging Isabela won't work anyway okay she hates me".
"Mira is that what you really thought ". Isabela said
"Si, At the time". Mirabel replies honestly
"Hermanita I could never hate you , you may annoy more than anything but I could never hate yo do you understand?" Isabela explains
"Si Isa". Mirabel chuckled
Isabela went and hugged her sister tightly
Mirabel: "plus Ps I ruined her proposal".
Bruno: " Mirabel ".
Mirabel: "She is just an annoying ugh".
Bruno: "Mirabel ".
Mirabel: " She is the one with roses coming out of her-"
Bruno: "Mirabel!!"
"Mirabel Valentina Rojas Madrigal do not finish that sentence ". Pedro yelled
"Si, I think you got a bit carried away ". Rosa stated
"Sorry". Mirabel replies
Bruno: "See your missing the point the fate of the family it's not up to Her it's up to you you just have to see it".
"I guess you were right Tio". Mirabel smiles
"No Mariposa I know I am right". Bruno replies
"You have changed our family for the better and that's why we need you don't think otherwise ". He adds
"Si, we agree Mira you are stronger than you know ". Luisa said
"Besides there would be no one else to save us because they won't have half the Heart like Señorita Mirabel ". Alejandra called
"Si". Juancho agreed
"What are you rascals doing here?" Mirabel laughs
"Miss Layla let us in she thought you would need some encouragement ". Cecilia added
"And I think I proved my point". Layla cuts in
"Si, you did very much". Mirabel replies
"Well I think I need to get you rascals home otherwise you will start to worry your parents ". Layla said
"Si". The kids smiled
With that I transported the kids back to their town.
"Wow Mija those kids seemed to adore you". Elena stated
"Si but they can be difficult sometimes ". Mirabel replies
Bruno : " By yourself I gotta leave".
Mirabel: " What your not coming".
Bruno: " It was your vision Mirabel not mine".
Mirabel : " your afraid Abuela will see you".
Bruno : "Ah yeah that too".
"Are you afraid of me Mijo?" Alma asked
"Sometimes ". Bruno answers
" You're a little Intense sometimes". Bruno added
"Really?" Alma coaxed
"Si". He answers
"Lo siento Mucho Mijo I didn't realise how much it hurt you ". Alma apologises
Estas bien Mamá ". He hugged his mother tightly
Bruno: "Hey after you save the Miracle come visit ".
Mirabel: "After I save the Miracle I am bringing you home".
"That You did Mija and I am more than grateful ". Bruno smiled
"Si,I never go back on my word Tio". Mirabel chuckled
Bruno then smiled and knocked on the wall then slid into the painting back to his place in the walls.
Mirabel let out a breath before she went in.
Mirabel: "Okay you can do this just got to save the Miracle with a hug".
"Well, This is isn't gonna go well". Socorro started
"I'd agree with you there Chiquita ". Miguel added
