Kiara struggled to remain standing and not collapse into a puddle of shivering limbs. The Devil kept his back to her, playing the most beautiful music she'd ever heard on the pipe organ. "Then, then this 'ultimate father' you were talking about, that would be..." she trailed off.

"Yes, clever girl, a being to rival God himself, the Father. You are my carefully concocted catalyst through which I shall create the Ultimate Father. I shall send my creation to fight God, Judgment Day shall occur, and I will finally have my revenge!"

"No, it'll never happen!" Kiara shouted. "I'm not the person I used to be, I don't need to rely on men to supplement for my dad anymore to make myself happy."

Luci shrugged, his playing uninterrupted. "That's why I brought you here. This castle will scrub away that little revelation of yours and bring you back to square one. Make you forget that little cicada you met as well, and the way you kept trying to get him to sing. Just forget about all that nonsense and return to the way you're meant to be."

"That's the second time you've brought up Kady's singing. Why? What happens if he sings?"

His hands slammed on the keys, a bellowing discordant note. In a black flash he was in front of Kiara, glaring down upon her. "You have no choice but to obey!" he hissed. "Submit and let the castle wash away your memories, your emotional growth, or be destroyed."

Kiara backed away, so quickly she almost stumbled over her feet. "You said you needed me for your plans, that I'm the key for your revenge."

"You are not so valuable that I cannot erase you, should you become more nuisance than tool. I can always start with a new girl, give her new daddy issues. What is a human's lifespan compared to eternity?"

Kiara shook her head again, more violently. "It won't work, not ever! I'll never forget the things I've learned, like how much my dads all mean to me, how much they love me and would do anything for me!"

Kiara caught herself, eyes widening. Her fingers rose to her mouth, feeling for the traitor words that had fallen from the lips.

Luci smirked, a hand on his hip. "See? Already the magic of this place is at work on your mind." A flash of black smoke, and he was back at the organ, playing again. "Gently, gently, you'll return to the way you were. And you'll be happy, with the dads you've met, the ones you will meet, and even the ones who dwell still only in your mind. Until my Day of Wrath comes."

There was a scream in Kiara's throat, burning and pulsing like vomit, but it refused to come out. Instead she turned and crashed through one of the doors surrounding the chamber and sprinted through the halls. No matter where she ran this time, the organ music never faded, always following, following as she ran deeper in the labyrinth, with no trace of escape.
