"I can't believe how quickly we were able to handle that robbery. I gotta say Midoriya, you really are one of the more reliable partners I've had in the field."

Midoriya followed along with an exhausted look on his face as he just let his ice cream melt into the sidewalk while following behind.

'I really dont know about that...'

A moment later Mirio pulled out his phone while seemingly on high alert all of the sudden. He was quick to throw his ice cream away.

"Villain attack a few blocks east. Come on, lets go."

"Wait up!" The boy said while discarding his desert and chasing after his senior.

The two heroes rushed to the scene and were met with panicking civilians desperately running from the scene.

Mirios eyes narrowed in determination as he spotted the villain. It wasn't hard, considering the fact that it had to be at least forty feet tall and destroying the nearby building with mere tentacle swings.

Midoriya looked up while rubbing his eyes in confusion.

'A... Giant... Octopus Monster?'

The boy was pulled back from his thoughts by Mirio snapping in front of his face.

"Focus Midoriya, we have to mitigate the damage while keeping everyone safe."

"Oh... right. Lets get to it then." He said mostly trying to hype himself up to help get into the groove of things.

Mirio charged forward and watched as the giant villain slammed one of its tentacles into a nearby building. Upon noticing that the debris was about to hit a civilian and quickly ran forward pushing them to safety.

Right as he did the debris fell on him.

Midoriya ran over to the person that he had just saved with a look of concern.

"I would have been crushed by that debris... but that boy... he just died to save me?" The civilian asked in horror and disbelief.

"No, I doubt something like that could kill him if he saw it coming. You really need to get to safety though." He responded in a serious tone.

Much to the civilians shock Mirio flew out of the ground with a confident smile as he pushed forward and lunged at the villain.

"Umm... Right then, please give him my thanks for the assist. I'll be going then." The civilian said feeling more reassured as he quickly evacuated from the field.

Now focusing on the villain again Midoriya charged forward leaping off the wall to assist Mirio.

The villain roared in anger as Mirio consistently jumped from wall to wall while using his quirk to phase through any attacks sent his way.

Infused with the power of One for All, Midoriya slammed into its head causing the monstrous villain to stagger back and fall against a nearby building.

"Be careful, we dont want the building to collapse. Could endanger more civilians." Mirio cautiously warned while slamming down on one of its giant tentacles.

Midoriya leaped back narrowly avoiding another attack that only seemed to slam into another building causing it to fall against yet another unstable structure.

"Keep it busy. I'll make sure there are no survivors in those buildings." He said while leaving everything to the blonde and jumping into the building through a window.

As Midoriya found himself in a rather mundane looking bedroom he noted no signs of life and kicked open the door before quickly checking the small apartment. As he made it to the kitchen he saw a young girl cradled in her mothers arms as they huddled together in terror.

The mother looked up as she noticed the green haired boy.

"W-who are you?" She asked.

"A hero. We need to get you out of here, it's not safe." He said while reaching out his hand.

For a moment the woman seemed to hesitate with a look of uncertainty, but eventually she accepted his hand and let him take her daughter.

As the mother wrapped an arm around his waist and held on tight Midoriya jumped back out the window and leaped several feet away before setting the two down and rushing back in to search for more civilians.

"Was there anyone else in your living quarters?

The woman shook her head no much to Midoriyas mild sense of relief as he went back in through another window.

Quick as he could the boy searched every room and eventually came across a young man trapped under a table.

"Help me! I'm stuck!" He screamed out in fear.

Not wasting anytime Midoriya pulled the table off of the man and put him over his shoulder before lunging back out the window just as he had before.

Back with Mirio, the monstrous villain hadn't slowed down one bit, and its anger seemed rather unyielding to match.

The blonde boy grit his teeth in frustration as he looked to the side. He could see the all too familiar red and green streaks of his trusty partner as he pulled civilian after civilian out of the unstable building.

'Good. Midoriya is doing well with the evacuation... still... I can't seem to slow this thing down at all. Its physical fortitude is off the charts.'

Once again Mirio was forced to lunge to the side only narrowly avoiding another deadly swing.

Mirio braced himself as another attack followed up and phased through the ground before launching himself back at it and punching it yet again.

Much to his shock a blast of fire suddenly came hurdling into the octopus monsters face causing it squeal and writhe in pain.

The blonde looked up to see who was responsible for the attack.

"Hey! It's you Number One!"

Endeavor scoffed as he looked down from the sky at the giant monster and grimaced at the sight of it.

Without an ounce of hesitation he quickly flew in using his flames to boost his attack power and slammed into the villains already burning face.

The octopus monster continued to exude sounds of agony as it became more enraged and much to the flame heroes surprise wrapped its tentacle around him and threw him into a nearby building.

Mirio looked over in concern for Endeavors well being, but it seemed as though the top hero was relatively unphased as he promptly pushed off the cracked wall and returned to the fight.

'Its rather resilient it seems.' He thought to himself while dodging another tentacle swipe and regaining an airborne advantage.

Much to the pros dismay the flames had extinguished from its body and it only retained a few minor burn marks from the scuffle.

The villain looked up in rage and opened a hole in its previously unexposed face before shooting a gigantic blast of ink at the pro.

Quick to respond as always Endeavor protected himself by countering with a fierce blast of fire.

"Mirio! I got everyone out of the building! Now we can focus on detaining the villain!" Midoriya yelled out while regrouping with the blonde.

"Right."

The two looked back towards the monster and charged in together each lunging off of a building and aiming for its eyes.

With enough luck it seemed as though the villain had remained still enough allowing Midoriya and Mirio and slam right into its eyes causing their foe to squeal in pain just as it did before.

Endeavor gasped in surprise as he noticed the two heroes effectively cripple one of its major senses. Moments later he smirked in arrogance while charging forward to join in the offensive.

'With Midoriya and The Number One Hero himself helping out, I'll bet this will be over in no time.' Mirio thought seemingly far more reassured by the backup as he proceeded to beat down on the giant monster of a villain with as much ferocity as his spirit could muster.

For the next ten minutes Midoriya, Mirio, and Endeavor all struck at the giant villain as hard and fast as they could. Offering no reprieve whatsoever the octopus villain seemed to have finally become dazed.

"Now is our chance. Give him everything you got!" Endeavor shouted commandingly while lighting his fist on fire.

"Wouldn't have it any other way!" Mirio yelled while charging in again followed by Midoriya.

With one final team attack the villain let out a howl of agony as it started to shrink in size.

The three heroes stood back and watched as the giant octopus villain fell to the ground unconscious while dropping a strange drug.

Endeavor looked down at the octopus mutant that had reverted back to the size of an average human. He kneeled down and picked up the syringe that the fallen enemy had dropped and put it in a plastic bag.

"It appears as though the villain was enhanced by trigger."

Midoriya seemed rather exhausted as he fell to the ground while desperately trying to catch his breath.

'Jeez that was exhausting. Talk about a battle of endurance.'

The boy looked up to see Mirio approaching him.

"That was intense. Even so it would appear as though there were no casualties and only minor injuries at best." He said while pointing behind the boy.

Midoriya looked behind himself to see that the police had managed to barricade the area and the paramedics were tending to the injured, but most curiously was that everyone he had saved was staring in awe.

With a guilty expression the boy stood up and turned towards the sight of the damaged buildings.

'I might have saved them, but where are these people going to sleep tonight? Its because of me that their homes have been destroyed... I could have done better.'

The boy turned his attention back towards Mirio with a regretful look in his eyes and a sad smile as he pointed behind him.

"Look at this damage. I failed to contain the situation... I don't deserve such kind words."

Mirio's smile seemed to fade as he saw the guilt ridden expression on the boy's face.

After giving it some thought, the blonde smiled yet again while pushing Midoriya closer to the crowd.

Midoriya looked back in confusion only to be met with Mirio standing by him and grabbing his hand before raising up high.

"Who among you would blame this compassionate, young, and aspiring hero for the destruction of your homes?"

The boy looked back at his work study partner in horror as it became clear he had just lost his mind.

'Come on Mirio! Everyone knows its my fault, I dont need them to reaffirm their hatred of me.'

The civilians all just stood there in silence as they looked amongst each other in confusion at the question.

In the end it seemed as though nobody bothered to respond to such a ludicrous prospect.

Mirio grinned in satisfaction all while never letting the struggling and panicked boy escape from his grasp to retreat from the public eye.

"And who among you would attribute your safety to the bravery of this kid?! Who here thinks he has what it takes to be a hero?!"

Midoriya looked down in embarrassment and horror as he felt in that moment that he would be perfectly content to let it all end.

"Well thats obvious! Of course he has the potential to be a great hero!"

As he heard such strange words, the boys eyes shot up towards the voice in shock and disbelief. As he pinpointed the speaker Midoriya stared wide eyed in silence. It was the mother that he had saved first.

"Yeah! What sense would it make to blame him when all he did was work as hard as he could to save our lives!" The man hed pulled the table off of added.

Much to his shock and disbelief the civilians he'd saved all started to cheer for him. He turned his attention to Mirio who just had the same grin across his face as he chuckled about the situation.

"He He... Thanks... I needed that Mirio." He said with a teary eyed smile as he looked back at the people.

Moments later the police had cuffed the mutant responsible for the destruction of the area and Mirio spotted Endeavor walking away.

"Yo! Number One! I wanted to thank you for your help! That was really amazing!"

The flame hero grit his teeth in anger as he turned back towards the blonde hero.

"Don't call me that. I haven't earned the title." He said bitterly.

Midoriya reluctantly walked over behind Mirio and looked up at the man. He seemed particularly frustrated and embittered.

"So what are you doing here? Just passing by? Its not usual to find you operating so far away from your agency."

With an annoyed scowl Endeavor turned his back away from the blonde and proceeded to walk away.

"You should know to mind your own business. I see no benefit to engaging in this idle chatter."

Mirio chuckled as he watched the pro leave while coldly dismissing him.

"Thats Number One for you. Focused on the job. You really got to admire that about him."

Midoriya let out an uncomfortable chuckle as he thought back to a certain friend of his.

'Makes me wonder how Todorokis relationship with his dad is coming along... I don't imagine it's going well... but still, I hope everyone in that family can one day tread the path to healing.'

Elsewhere in another part of town, Shigaraki had just returned to the Hassaikai base with a livid expression as he faced the cold hearted crime boss that he's been forced into working for.

Overhaul held his usual calm and composed demeanor as he sat at his desk with a patient look in his eye.

Not bothering with any words just yet Shigaraki simply placed the briefcase on the table and passed it to the other villain.

With a curious expression the man opened the case and inspected the product that he'd been given.

"Hmm... It's real this time. Moreover, it seems you actually managed to complete this transaction without killing another one of my suppliers."

Shigaraki sat back with an annoyed and uncaring demeanor as he waited for Overhaul to stop messing around.

In time the man closed the briefcase and set it to the side before giving Shigaraki his full attention.

"Bring. Her. Back. Now!"

As always Overhaul retained his uncaring mask of cruelty and coldness while staring at the younger villain for the longest time.

Eventually he stood up and walked around the desk before making his way to the door.

"Very well."

With an expectant look Shigaraki got up and proceeded to follow him out of the room. Soon enough he found himself back in the annoyingly bland hallway.

The crime boss stopped though and turned his attention back to Shigaraki who groaned in annoyance as he did.

"You do realize I that still won't let you leave after I heal her right? I need your help on this."

Shigaraki felt his eye twitch in anger as he tried to force a smile.

"Yeah, I figured as much, but that's fine... I've done a lot of thinking, and I mean a lot... I now believe carrying out your plan can bring about my desired future."

The crime boss looked at the man blankly before eventually turning away and continuing onward to the room.

Overhaul and Shigaraki entered the room where he kept Toga and the boss and walked over to the girl. With a look of cold indifference he rested his hand on her forehead.

After a moment the blonde girl slowly started to wake up, as she groggily opened her eyes and looked over at the crime boss.

"You!"

She shot up in anger only to wince as the pain caught up to her.

"You should take it easy. When I found you, it appeared as though you suffered a great deal of fatigue. You were out for a few days." The man said sympathetically as his gaze softened.

Toga rubbed her head in pain as she laid back against the pillows.

"W-what... happened?"

Overhaul grabbed a nearby chair and took a seat next to the gurney.

"I found you passed out in the hallway. Afterwards I had my men bring you here to recover."

Shigaraki looked over at the man in disgust with a brow raised.

'You lying sack of shit. Is this some kind of game to you now?'

The girl narrowed her eyes in suspicion and distrust as she sat up.

"Hey. You really should be grateful..."

As he said those words Overhaul gestured towards the boss on the other side of the room.

"I let you recover under the watchful and compassionate gaze of the boss. There is no man I would trust with your safety more than him."

The blonde couldn't help but roll her eyes with an amused yet annoyed smirk.

"Right. I feel so safe with the unconscious old guy as my bodyguard."

In little time it became clear just how unusual something was. Particularly regarding the presence of someone who last she knew, shouldn't have been there.

"Tomura? What are you doing here?"

Shigaraki looked down at the girl in shame and discomfort while trying his best to keep his composure.

"It's a long story, I'll tell you about it later." He said hoping she wouldn't prod any further in the presence of Overhaul.

Deciding to test her limits the girl suddenly climbed out of bed and after a bit of wobbling and shaking she managed to stand tall and proud.

"Well... thanks I guess... but don't go thinking your off the hook after what you did to Big Sis Magne." She said while pointing an accusatory finger at the man.

With a feeling of disgust and rage welling up in her stomach Toga felt the need to remind herself of Shigaraki's words as she left the small room in an attempt to distance herself from the object of her hatred.

'Something doesn't feel right, I cant help but think that bastard is or was up to something... but now I wonder if another particular bastard is also up to something.'

Shigaraki followed behind stopping by the door only once to give the crime boss a brief glance before moving to catch up with his seemingly healthy and rejuvenated teammate.

Overhaul sighed in exhaustion and annoyance as he finally has the room to himself, that didn't last long though as yet another entered the room.

"What is it Kurono?"

The white haired villain looked particularly concerned about something.

"Don't you think your being too lenient on the league? They've been nothing but trouble since they got here."

Overhaul gestured for the man to have a seat while clasping his hands together with a calm and unperturbed look.

"You think I trust them? I must say Kurono, your judgment is growing rather dull if you were actually under that impression."

Kurono raised a brow in confusion as he sat down next to the unconscious boss while a part of him grew curious.

"So why heal the girl then? She was your only leverage over him."

"A sign of good faith. I imagine it means nothing to him, but remember who we are. The yakuza are a noble organization. The boss would be far from happy if we were to forego our integrity."

The white haired villain sighed in disappointment while leaning back in his chair.

"I understand that... but considering what's at stake. I don't think it's time to adhere to such practices. I mean, what if he retaliates right here and right now?"

"You saw how he acted when we first met at the warehouse. He won't. He's too attached to his subordinates to risk their lives on a whim... all that matters is that we keep them here until the heroes inevitable attack."

Kurono looked at the crime boss with unease, he'd disagreed with a hand full of his ideas and plans throughout the years, but at the end of the day his faith in him was unshakable.

"Problem about that is, I have no idea when they will and I can't just up and abandon this place on a whim when we have so much left to uncover."

Further down the hall, Shigaraki had just caught up to Toga who had a rather annoyed and confused to look on her face.

"What's going on Tomura? I thought only Gene and I we're supposed to come here."

The decay user glanced around in paranoia to make sure no one was following before wrapping an arm around the girl.

"Be patient. I'll fill you in on everything in just a moment."

Toga looked at the man in confusion as he not so gently pulled her down another hallway and pushed her into a room.

After anxiously looking around outside yet again, Shigaraki closed the door behind him.

"The gangs all here." Twice enthusiastically said as he looked at Toga.

"What are you all doing here? Tomura you better explain what's going on right now before I start feeling stabby."

"You know, for once I actually agree with crazy. I thought we were going to play ball for the time being." Dabi added.

Shigaraki sat down and looked between his teammates and the yakuza thug they had tied to the chair while letting out an exhausted sigh.

"Alright, listen up. We have much to go over."

Everyone gathered around the table in the middle as Shigaraki lay down some blueprints that seemed to map out the entirety of the hassakai lair, but perhaps the most noteworthy thing was the multitude of different rooms and pathways marked.

And that's the chapter, hope everyone enjoyed it.
