Chapter 2: The Savior's Name is Sabrina
Kitsune watched from a ruin building using her binoculars as Kallen, Ohgi, Tamaki and many others were seen being lead out of the battle zone in the Shinjuku Ghetto.
C.C stood close near the masked girl.
"Looks like Kallen and her Resistance Group all made it out."Kitsune stated with a hint of relief."I'm glad."
"Do you know them in the future?"C.C assumed.
"Only one. The one that was piloting the Glasgow."Kitsune replied with an hint of fondness and lowered her binoculars."Though I can tell you their real leader was a good yet caring guy, who sadly died and handed his leadership to his Resistance Group to his best friend that is nothing but an absolute insecure idiot that would easily fall for the lies of the enemy."
"That is unfortunate."C.C responded.
Kitsune simply nodded as she put her binoculars in her backpack.
"Lelouch is probably going to talk to Prince Clovis on finding evidence in the murder of his mother, Marianne the Flash."Kitsune explained."I guess the two of us should make our way to Ashford Academy."
"Ashford Academy?"C.C said in surprise."You've been attending Lelouch's school?"
"I've actually started attending two days ago."Kitsune admitted."I'm in the lower class like his younger sister Nunnally is."
C.C frowned at Kitsune.
"Just how much do you know as a person from the future?"C.C asked.
"I know everything that I've been told by you in my timeline."Kitsune explained."But like I said before 'I'll reveal everything in time'."
C.C didn't say anything, but slightly nodded.
"You know you should attend Ashford Academy too since the Britannian Military is after you, Pizza Girl."Kitsune suggested."No one will think you're an immortal witch due to your eternal youth."
"I have no desire to be a school among mortals."C.C retorted.
"Would you rather be bound and gagged than later be brutally tortured, maimed, and subjected to inhumane experiments day in and day out again?"Kitsune questioned curiously.
A light scowl escaped from C.C's face, knowing the masked girl had a point.
"Very well."C.C said in dismay.
At Clovis' G-1 Base...
Lelouch aimed his gun at Clovis.
"I'm overjoyed, Lelouch."Clovis remarked joyfully."They said you died when Japan was brought into the fold. What a blessing to have you back. We should depart for the homeland immediately."
Lelouch frowned at Clovis' declaration.
"So you can use me as a tool of diplomacy?"Lelouch assumed."It seems you've forgotten why we were used as tools in the first place. That's right. It was because my mother was killed."
There was a burning rage growing inside Lelouch's face as he remembered the day his beloved mother was killed as well as his younger sister lost her sight and legs.
"Mother held the title of knight of honour but was a commoner by birth. No doubt the other 107 Imperial Consorts held her in contempt."Lelouch retorted."Even though you made it look like the work of terrorists, I'm no fool. You people killed my mother."
"It wasn't me!"Clovis protested."I swear it wasn't me!"
"Then tell me everything you know."Lelouch scowled as he pointed his gun at his older half-brother and then activated his Geass."Answer my questions."
Lelouch used his Geass on Clovis and red ringlets appeared around the 3rd Prince of Britannia's eyes.
"As you wish."Clovis answered.
"Do you know who killed my mother?"Lelouch questioned.
"Our brother 2nd Prince Schneizel and our sister 2nd Princess Cornelia, they can tell you."Clovis admitted.
Lelouch tensed up at the mention at his older half-siblings that were dangerous opponents.
"They were at the heart of this?"Lelouch scowled with a hint of anger.
"No. Cornelia loved and respected Lady Marianne dearly more than anyone and investigated her death numerous in order to find links to her killer."Clovis exclaimed."As for Schneizel, he was ordered to take to transport the body out of there."
A look of disbelief appeared on Lelouch's face.
"The body? You mean mother's?"Lelouch assumed."Then what was in that coffin?"
Clovis didn't reply.
"That's all you know."Lelouch scoffed and then changed the subject."Do you know about this girl called 'C.C'?"
"Yes."Clovis replied.
"Did you use her for experiments?"Lelouch asked.
"Yes."Clovis answered.
"Any remorse on hurting her and ordering the massacre in Shinjuku?"Lelouch questioned.
"Not really."Clovis admitted.
A wave of anger grew within Lelouch at his older half-brother's respond, but remained calm.
"What about your mother, Lady Gabrielle and your little sister, Lila?"Lelouch asked."Are they aware what you're doing?"
"No."Clovis answered.
Lelouch was then silent causing Clovis to become free from his Geass.
Clovis then started protesting his innocence to having a hand in the murder of Lady Marianne.
"I swear it wasn't me!"Clovis protested."I had nothing to do with it!"
"I believe you."Lelouch declared with a smug look and then lifted his gun."However…"
Lelouch aimed his gun at Prince Clovis' head.
"Please, you can't!"Prince Clovis shouted in shock."We may have different mothers, but you and I are still blood!"
"You can't change the world without getting your hands dirty."Lelouch stated grimly.
Lelouch pulled the trigger and then a bang was heard.
There ended the life of Prince Clovis la Britannia.
The sun was setting down as Lelouch felt a mixture of relief when he arrived back at Ashford Academy.
A moment ago, he thought he would die at the hands of Clovis' Royal Guard.
But now he had the power to get revenge against Britannia and make a better world for his younger sister.
Though Lelouch was now having doubt about sparing Clovis after he ordered the deaths of countless innocent civilians to hide his secret.
He didn't like what Clovis did, but knew killing his older half-brother would make him different than the Emperor and the rest of his spawns.
However, Lelouch was now thinking about the whereabouts of Kitsune and Sabrina.
"She must've took her to her hideout."Lelouch thought.
When the raven haired boy finally reached for his door to his room, he takes his key to his dorm with Nunnally inside.
"I'm back."Lelouch declared.
Lelouch became surprised to see at the dinner table where he and Nunnally usually had lunch together were a variety of Japanese dishes such as rice bowls, soups, rolls and fish.
Did Sayoko make all this?
Then he heard the sound of laughter coming from the kitchen causing him to go check things out.
There he saw Nunnally talking with a figure that he didn't recognise.
The figure was a fourteen year old girl, who had a striking beauty with amethyst purple eyes and long crimson red hair styled in twin tails. She wore a pink pinafore with a white long-sleeved shirt, a red tie with the Ashford logo, white knee socks and black shoes.
"Okay, Nunna."the red haired girl chuckled while mixing a bowl of cookie dough."Just a few more mixes and the cookies will soon be put in the oven."
"Did you add too much sugar?"Nunnally asked.
"No."the red haired girl sneered."Otherwise, the batter would be too hard to mix. Impatience gets you no where in life."
"That's true."Nunnally giggled."My big brother is usually like that when it comes to Milly's ideas in the Student Council."
"Must be the reason why he is still single."the red haired girl joked.
Lelouch frowned and then cleared his throat, earning the
"Hi, Lelouch."Nunnally greeted brightly."Welcome home."
"What's going on here?"Lelouch asked.
"My friend Sabrina helped Miss Sayoko prepare lunch for us while you were still out."Nunnally explained."You know the girl that I told you fought off some girls who were bullying me the day before yesterday."
"Sabrina?"Lelouch said in confusion.
The red haired girl simply smirked as she put the bowl of cookie dough in the counter before introducing herself to her friend's older brother.
"Nice to meet you, Lelouch Lamperouge."Sabrina said with a bow."I'm Sabrina Harcourt. I'm the new student that recently that transferred from the homeland."
Lelouch paused at the voice of Nunnally's new friend that was completely familiar which made him realise something.
This girl was Kitsune, but without her mask on.
"Nice to meet you too, Sabrina."Lelouch responded.
"Say why don't you go and sit down to enjoy the traditional Japanese meals I've made for you guys?"Sabrina insisted."I'll finish off preparing the cookies."
"Okay, Sabrina."Nunnally answered brightly."Let's go, Lelouch."
"Right."Lelouch responded.
As Nunnally headed off on her wheelchair, Lelouch gives Sabrina a suspicious glare.
"We'll talk later, pretty boy."Sabrina assured smugly.
Sometime after lunch, Lelouch went to his room where Sabrina and C.C were waiting for him.
"Glad that you made out of Shinjuku alive, Lelouch."C.C complemented."So how did your reunion with Clovis go?"
"I used my Geass on Clovis to find out if he knew who killed my mother, but he had no idea."Lelouch answered with a frown and scoffed in disgust."Also that he didn't have any remorse for having you used for experiments and ordering the slaughter of countless Japanese people. But we don't have to worry about him anymore."
A slight hurtful look appeared on Sabrina's face at Lelouch's respond.
Lelouch then brought his attention on Sabrina.
"You're Kitsune without the mask, correct?"Lelouch assumed.
"That's right."Sabrina replied with a nod.
"Care to explain to me why you didn't introduce yourself to me the moment that you transferred here?"Lelouch questioned.
"Oh, come on, pretty boy."Sabrina retorted with her arms folded."Isn't it obvious? You didn't have your Geass power yet and things would be sounding complicated to you."
A scoff escaped from Lelouch's mouth.
"Fair point. But about the white Knightmare that attacked in Shinjuku called the Lancelot."Lelouch said with a hint of uncertainty."Is it really Suzaku?"
An annoyed look appeared on Sabrina's face at hearing Suzaku's name.
"Beside the Emperor, Schneizel el Britannia and Suzaku Kururugi are your worst enemies."Sabrina warned strictly."Not to mention, they're the very people that led to your downfall."
"Really?"Lelouch said in surprise.
"Yes. The Prime Minister of Britannia is a psychopath that doesn't care who he uses whether they're his relatives or not and wouldn't have any remorse if he causes them to die. In other words, his a heartless machine that plays with people's emotions and discards them once he has anymore use for them."Sabrina exclaimed with a slight angry tone."As for the rat Kururugi, he is so caught in changing Britannia from within and would never join forces with you since he is so desperate in spreading his corrupted belief. So you're going to have to put your feelings aside and not let him trample over you no matter what."
Lelouch was silent for a moment.
Schneizel was his older half-brother and the only person that he wasn't able to beat in a game of chess.
But looking back in his childhood, he never seen him display any deep emotional response.
So he was dangerous and mustn't let him ever get the upper hand on any actions he takes.
And Suzaku?
He was his best friend and someone close to both him and Nunnally.
But after hearing what Sabrina told him, he was going to have to fight him.
Whether he wanted to or not.
"I understand, Sabrina."Lelouch responded."But I'll make sure to think more before taking any course of action like you told me."
C.C then laid down on Lelouch's bed with her arms spread.
"You believe you can destroy Britannia simply by using that power?"C.C asked.
Lelouch shook his head.
"No."Lelouch replied."It's obvious that I need my own organisation."
"It will take time to create your own organisation, Lelouch."Sabrina explained."Though you're going to have to first gather people you know you can trust."
"Right."Lelouch said with a nod.
C.C looked up at the ceiling with boredom in her face.
"But what'll you do now?"Lelouch asked, looking at C.C."I'm sure the military is after you."
"Not the entire military, only a small faction of it."C.C exclaimed."So it shouldn't be difficult to find hiding place. I can make do here."
Sabrina blushed furiously and quickly covered her face when C.C moved her way to Lelouch's bed as she takes off her high knee boots, leaving her bare footed and crawled onto his bed and covered her body.
"A gentlemen would sleep on the floor."C.C informed.
Irritated from her reaction, Lelouch knelt down to grab C.C's boots and placed them at the side of the bed.
"Stop joking around."Lelouch scolded.
"My being caught would cause trouble for you too."C.C commented.
"It's dangerous to stay together."Lelouch retorted.
Sabrina's face turned more red at seeing Lelouch climb on top of C.C.
"Lelouch, do you even realise the position you are in."Sabrina thought uncomfortably.
"I hate stubbornness."C.C replied."If I wander the streets, they'll find me."
"Then it's dangerous for you to stay here, perhaps if you-"Lelouch started.
"Good night, Lelouch."C.C declared.
C.C turned to the other side of the bed and closed her eyes.
Sabrina sweat dropped and chuckled sheepishly while Lelouch was annoyed from C.C's stubbornness as if she's just a child.
"Is she always like this?"Lelouch questioned.
"You have no idea."Sabrina said with a sigh and covered her mouth to yawn."I'm going to bed. See you tomorrow, pretty boy."
"Just where are you staying exactly?"Lelouch asked.
"My own room in Ashford."Sabrina remarked in amusement."That way I can check on your every move without you even realising."
Lelouch frowned as Sabrina headed out of his room.
"Wonderful."Lelouch muttered with an unfazed look.
The Next Morning…
Sometime after waking up to get dressed and eating breakfast, Nunnally was preparing to make her way to her classes.
"Ms Sayoko, I can handle it from here."Nunnally declared.
"Yes, ma'am."Sayoko said with a bow."Have a safe trip, milady."
Sayoko then walked off in the hallway, leaving Nunnally by herself.
"Have a safe trip, milady."A rude female voice mocked."For a freeloader, eh?"
Nunnally felt butterflies since she knew behind her was Ekaterina Sforza and her two friends.
"Miss Ekaterina, was it?"Nunnally assumed."If you don't mind, I'll be taking my leave. I have a class to attend."
Nunnally attempted to move her wheelchair, only for Ekaterina to grab it.
"Hey! What's with that attitude?!"Ekaterina growled."I'm the eldest daughter of the Sforza Household! Don't get cocky just because the Principal of Ashford Academy is taking you under his wing! You're just a descendant of some low-level nobleman, aren't you?"
Nunnally just remained calm.
"I understand that you came from a distinguished Household, but that is no concern for me."Nunnally answered."Please, excuse me."
Nunnally attempted to move her wheelchair.
"Hold it!"Ekaterina snapped.
Ekaterina pulled Nunnally's wheelchair causing the blind crippled girl to fell from it and hit the ground.
"Please stop!"Nunnally begged.
Suddenly, a figure rushed by Ekaterina and her two friends and stopped not far from where they stood.
The figure was Sabrina with a smug smile on her face.
"Excuse me, you brag that you're from a noble household."Sabrina sneered while holding three skirts."But it seems that they taught you and your minions to be prostitutes than proper ladies.
Ekaterina and her friends shrieked in terror when they realised their skirts were gone and their panties were showing.
"You'll pay for this, Harcourt!"Ekaterina growled.
The three bullies headed off while Sabrina threw their skirts on the ground.
"Whatever."Sabrina scoffed with an unfazed tone.
Sabrina then made her way up to Nunnally and held her.
"Thank you, Sabrina."Nunnally responded."But what in the world did you do to them?"
Sabrina just chuckled at Nunnally's question.
"I used a little trick of mine."Sabrina assured with a wink and placed Nunnally back in her wheelchair."Now let's get to class."
"Okay."Nunnally answered with a small smile.
Meanwhile…
Sometime after his meeting with the Student Council and hear the news of the previous day's events in Shinjuku, Lelouch made his way to his classroom.
The news of Shinjuku was heavily biased in favour of the Britannian colonial government.
The broadcasts reported that terrorists had released poison gas into the ghetto while attempting to avoid capture by Britannian military forces.
"Kallen! It's been ages!"
"Are you alright? Sophie's been worried sick all this time."
"You're okay though, right?"
As he entered the classroom, Lelouch turned his attention to a girl, who was about seventeen with bright red hair that was down and deep turquoise eyes.
His eyes widen a bit upon realising this was the pilot of the Glasgow during the battle of Shinjuku.
"Of course."Lelouch thought."That's why she's so familiar."
Lelouch then slowly passed the girls and came to take a seat where he can diagonally see Kallen from behind.
Then Rivalz leaned forward with a sneer on his face.
"What's up, buddy?"Rivalz asked smugly while glancing at the attractive red haired girl."See something you like? You've got a thing for her, don't ya?"
"Just thinking this a rare event."Lelouch responded."She hasn't been here at school since this whole term started."
"Kallen Stadtfeld. They say she's sick or something' and she barely showed up at school last year either."Rivalz explained."Still, her grades are at the top of the class. And she's a member of the Stadtfeld family which means she's well-bred and rolling in money."
Sometime after class ended, it was now lunch time.
Lelouch was about to walk out of the building into the main courtyard, only to find Sabrina waiting for him.
"What are you doing here?"Lelouch questioned.
"What does it look like, pretty boy?"Sabrina scoffed."I'm waiting for you."
"Whatever you want, it will have to come later."Lelouch declared."I have someone that I need to ask questions for."
"You're going to meet Kallen Kōzuki, right?"Sabrina assumed.
"Kōzuki?"Lelouch said in confusion.
"Kallen prefers to go by her mother's surname when she's not in school."Sabrina admitted."She is half-Britannian and half-Japanese."
Lelouch's eyes in surprise.
"Half-Blood?"Lelouch asked."But why would she take part in terrorism?"
"Her late older brother Naoto fought against Britannia from the very beginning."Sabrina explained with a hint of sadness."When Kallen became old enough she joined to fight as well. Their terrorist group is not big enough and don't even have its own name."
Lelouch looked down at Sabrina's respond.
"I see."Lelouch said.
"Is that what you wanted to find out?"Sabrina asked."By using your Geass on her and ask her about her choosing the path of terrorism?"
"Yes."Lelouch replied."But it seems you gave me everything I need to know."
Kallen kept the characteristic of a sickly student as she listened to her fellow classmates brag about their real yet boring tales such as shopping, fashion and boys which didn't interest her at all due to herself being a soldier fighting against Britannia.
Even though she wasn't being fond on attending a school filled with Britannians, Naoto would've wanted her to go to school still.
"Excuse me, Kallen?"
Soft gasps of surprise escaped from the three girls' she was talking to caused Kallen to snap out of her thoughts and looked up to see Lelouch looking down at her.
"Yes?"Kallen asked.
"For starters, I just wanted to say welcome back."Lelouch said with a small smile.
Kallen blushed a little and shyly looked down.
"Well…thank you."Kallen responded.
In Lelouch's Room…
C.C was stuffing her face with the pizza boxes from Pizza Hut from using the credit card that Sabrina gave her.
A slight frown appeared on the immortal witch's face.
"She's rewarding me for agreeing to attend Ashford Academy."C.C grumbled while eating a slice of pizza."Well, at least I don't have to worry about being under Prince Clovis' dirty clutches again…"
After speaking with Lelouch, Sabrina was on the roof of the academy building with Nunnally and having lunch together.
"Thank you for helping me out this morning, Sabrina."Nunnally declared.
Sabrina took a bite from one of her stuffed bell peppers before speaking to Nunnally.
"Don't worry about it, Nunnally."Sabrina answered and frowned."I just hate those that rely on their status in society and act arrogant about it."
"Hey Sabrina, why are you nice to a girl like me?"Nunnally asked."You're outgoing and good at sports, so I thought-"
Sabrina raised an eyebrow at Nunnally's question.
"Am I causing trouble being your friend?"Sabrina assumed.
"No!"Nunnally assured as she held her sandwich."Not at all!"
Sabrina simply smiled as she kicked up her feet a bit.
"I have an aunt that's in a wheelchair that spends her days alone, so I used to find a way to cheer her up when I was small."Sabrina exclaimed."So I thought since you're alone mostly as well, I think you would need a friend to look after you."
A soft smile appeared on Nunnally's face.
"I see."Nunnally responded.
"But then again."Sabrina spoke up."If you told those bullies that your father is the Emperor of the Holy Britannian Empire, they would be cowering on your feet and bow before you."
Nunnally became utterly stunned at Sabrina's respond.
"How did you…"Nunnally started.
"Don't worry. I told Lelouch about it."Sabrina assured with a wink."You're secret of being royalty is safe with me."
"Thank you."Nunnally answered gratefully."I like my life here in Ashford Academy than I was a Princess back in Pendragon."
"Because you have your older brother and friends of the Student Council to spend time with you?"Sabrina suggested.
"Yeah."Nunnally agreed with a bright smile."But I mostly want to be with my brother. That's all that matters."
Sabrina frowned at Nunnally's words since she actually knew this blind and crippled girl next to her was to be a pawn used by the Philanderer of an Emperor and later by the filthy snake known as the Prime Minister of Britannia to hurt Lelouch.
"Not this time."Sabrina thought with a cold glare."She won't be taken by V.V and won't be manipulated by Schneizel. I'll make sure of that.'
Sabrina then snapped out of her thoughts to open her small container which revealed to have inside a bunch of melting moments; crunchy biscuits coated in rolled oats and topped with a cherry.
"I have made some crunchy biscuits for you and I to enjoy, Nunnally."Sabrina remarked."But they don't have chocolate filling, is that okay?"
"That's okay."Nunnally giggled kindly."They sound delicious."
Nunnally took a biscuit from Sabrina's container to eat.
The moment she popped the biscuit into her mouth, the crippled girl immediately liked its flavour.
"It's so yummy!"Nunnally declared happily.
Sabrina smiled at her friend.
"I'm glad to hear that, Nunnally."Sabrina answered and thought."As soon as Uncle Jerry receives his Geass Cancellor, I'll make sure your eyesight will recover back before you know it, Nunnally."
Nunnally glanced at Sabrina.
"Are you okay, Sabrina?"Nunnally asked."You're being quiet again."
"Am I? Sorry, Nunna."Sabrina apologised."I've just have a lot in my mind. But can I ask you something?"
"Sure."Nunnally responded.
"Do you ever see yourself becoming Empress of Britannia?"Sabrina asked.
A confused expression appeared on Nunnally's face.
"Huh?"Nunnally said in confusion."What do you mean?"
"I mean…if something were to ever happen to the Emperor, people would want a successor."Sabrina exclaimed."Do you think you would be up to the job of ruling Britannia?"
Nunnally shook her head.
"Absolutely not. I don't see myself ever becoming the Empress of Britannia."Nunnally responded with a hint of discomfort."I love my life here in Ashford Academy with Lelouch. I don't want anything else."
"Okay."Sabrina responded with a small smile."I'm glad to hear that."
Meanwhile…
Jeremiah and Villetta were a limo that was heading out of the Government Bureau.
"That ex-civil servant is such a fool."Jeremiah retorted.
"So are you referring to Bartley?"Villetta asked.
"The killer has breached our heaviest security twice already."Jeremiah complemented."This perfunctory inspection is a farce."
"Margrave Jeremiah."Villetta spoke up."Now that Prince Clovis is out of the way, we Pure Bloods can..."
Villetta paused from speaking further as Jeremiah placed his finger on her lip.
"Let me make that call."Jeremiah insisted with a smirk."We still need to woo everyone over."
Back at Ashford Academy…
It was now night time.
Sabrina was with Nunnally and Sayoko, folding colourful papers into various shapes.
Sayoko finished folding a red crane into a bird before presenting it to Nunnally.
"There now."Sayoko stated."This one's finished."
Nunnally touched the crane and became a bit surprised upon realising what it was.
"Ah, a bird?"Nunnally suggested.
"Yes."Sayoko said with a nod."It's a crane."
"Amazing."Nunnally commented."The Japanese are so skilful."
Sabrina finished folding her coloured paper before presenting it to Nunnally.
"Now guess carefully what's mine, Nunnally."Sabrina instructed."It's a type of bird that is aquatic and flightless, but you find them in cold places in the world."
Nunnally slowly touched Sabrina's crane and then smiled gently.
"Is it a penguin?"Nunnally guessed.
"Bingo."Sabrina chuckled."You've guessed it."
Then the door entrance slid open and Lelouch arrived into the living room.
"I'm sorry that I'm late."Lelouch apologised.
"Hi, Lelouch."Nunnally greeted happily."Welcome home."
"Yes, welcome home, my lord."Sayoko replied.
"No place like it, Sayoko."Lelouch remarked and glanced at Nunnally."Right, Nunnally?"
Nunnally nodded in agreement.
Lelouch then sat down to have dinner with Nunnally while Sabrina went to help Sayoko clear up in the kitchen.
"Miss Sayoko and Sabrina were just teaching me about the art of the origami."Nunnally explained."Fold a piece of paper the correct way, you can make birds, boats and almost anything."
Nunnally accidentally spills some of her soup causing Sabrina to chuckle as Lelouch wipes it clean.
"Easy there."Lelouch instructed."You don't have to tell me everything all at once, you know? It's not like I'm going anywhere."
"Yeah, you're right."Nunnally answered."Thank you."
"You're very welcome."Lelouch replied.
"I'm so happy because last night you scared me a little."Nunnally admitted.
"Did I? Sorry."Lelouch apologised."I just have a lot on my mind, is all."
Nunnally then holds up one of the paper cranes she made.
"Hey, they say, if you fold a thousand of these cranes, your wish'll come true."Nunnally explained."So if there's anything at all that you've been wishing for?"
"No, not really."Lelouch answered."What about you? Do you wish for anything?"
Nunnally thought for a moment before responding to her older brother.
"I wish the world was a gentler place."Nunnally declared.
Lelouch then holds Nunnally's hand.
"When the day finally comes that you can see again, I'm sure that it will be."Lelouch vowed.
"Really?"Nunnally asked.
"I promise."Lelouch answered.
Unaware to Lelouch and Nunnally, Sabrina was secretly listening to their conversation.
"No. I promise to you both that I'll be the one that will make a gentle world that all of you are together."Sabrina thought with a firm yet strict tone."But first of all comes building the Black Knights Organisation properly and not the way Lelouch attends to make it. I'll need to somehow convince him to reveal his identity to his comrades unlike how it actually ended it up when-"
Sabrina paused, not wanting to finish her sentence.
She didn't only wanted to save Lelouch and help with building his rebellion.
She wanted him to change.
Overall, not manipulate people like chess pieces and use the power that strips free-will like the Emperor and the rest of his children do.
She wanted him to be someone else.
Someone better.
But also, let him have a better life with Nunnally and the people he cared about.
Just have to carefully remove all the obstacles that were preventing that.
The sooner the obstacles were out of the picture, the sooner things would turn out for the better in due time.
The Next Morning…
Lelouch stood in the main campus while speaking with Sabrina, who leaned against the bridge.
"So who exactly are the names of the people that are in Kallen's resistance group?"Lelouch asked.
"Ohgi Kaname, Tamaki Shinichiro, Inoue Naomi, Yoshida Toru and Sugiyama Kento."Sabrina declared."Kaname is the leader of the Resistance Group. But a quick warning about Kaname. His actually an insecure idiot despite having to have been the best friend of Naoto."
"I see."Lelouch replied."So it's basic to say that he doesn't have the skills to be a leader or even lead a resistance group."
"Yeah."Sabrina agreed with a sad frown."Naoto was far more skilled and smarter than Kaname was. He dreamed of a world that was free of Britannia's tyranny and treated everyone around them as equals. Regardless, what their heritage or beliefs was."
"He must've been a good brother to Kallen and friend to the members of his Resistance Group."Lelouch assumed.
Sabrina nodded in agreement and looked at the pure blue sky.
"Yeah, he was."Sabrina agreed and looked at Lelouch."Do you know the surname 'Kōzuki' actually means crimson or deep red moon?"
A surprised look appeared on Lelouch's face.
"Really?"Lelouch commented."That's interesting."
"You should start to learn about Japanese culture than what you hear in the news, Lelouch."Sabrina suggested."It's actually really cool. Japan has a fascinating and multifaceted culture. On the one hand it is steeped in the deepest of traditions dating back thousands of years before it was invaded from Britannia."
"You seem very fond of Japan."Lelouch declared.
"I'm actually quarter-Japanese."Sabrina admitted with a slight smile.
Lelouch chuckled at Sabrina's respond.
"That explains a lot."Lelouch complemented."Though you're appearance is more Britannian."
"Because of my dad."Sabrina said gently.
Lelouch opened his mouth to say something, but then a teacher stopped to talk to them.
"Lelouch! Sabrina!"A teacher called out."Class will be starting in a minute, you know!"
"Oh yes, sir."Lelouch replied and then used his Geass."Um, sir? What are the topics going to be for the essays on your next exam?"
The teacher was then under Lelouch's Geass control.
"The humiliation of Edinburgh, the transfer of the capital, and north and south war topics."the teacher declared.
Sabrina frowned at Lelouch as he tried using his Geass again.
"Sir?"Lelouch spoke up."What exactly are the topics going to be for the essays on your next exam?"
"Right, very funny. Maybe you should try studying, huh?"the teacher suggested."Just apply yourself, you'll do fine."
The teacher then walked away, leaving Lelouch and Sabrina by themselves.
"Yes, sir!"Lelouch answered.
"Did you have to do that?"Sabrina scoffed.
"Hey, we'll be leading a rebellion."Lelouch informed smugly."We won't always be at school."
Sabrina shrugged. "Fair enough."
On the roof, Kallen was speaking with Ohgi on the phone and complaining about being in school again.
"So, how's campus life treating you?"Ohgi asked.
"Stifling. I was stuck in history class yesterday."Kallen retorted."Look, maybe I should just head back."
"The army's on a high alert right now."Ohgi warned."Stay there, and let things cool off."
"I don't know."Kallen responded."What about the voice of the guy that called himself 'Zero' on the radio?"
"Can't go looking for a voice."Ohgi informed."Besides, Naoto would be happy to see you back in school. Forget about Shinjuku for now. I'll be in touch."
Ohgi then ended his call with Kallen.
Kallen then remembered what Lelouch told her.
"For starters, I just wanted to say welcome back."
A slight blush appeared on Kallen's face as she remembered Lelouch smiling at her.
The heiress of the Stadtfeld Household heard that Lelouch didn't have a girlfriend despite having earned the admiration of almost 100% of the female students in Ashford Academy.
There were rumours about that he was a virgin.
Kallen immediately snapped out of her thoughts in shock as her face turned almost red as her hair of what she just thought.
Then her mind went back on the mysterious 'Zero' that had hauled her and her friends out of the fire at Shinjuku. Even giving them several brand spanking new Sutherlands to keep.
Unlike the rest of the resistance, Kallen's status as a Half-Britannian offered her the element of protection, something that kept her out of harms way while the others were forced to lay low.
Naoto had protection as well when he was alive and was the heir to their father's household. But with her older brother gone, her father divorced her mother and remarried a Britannian lady that was secretly disloyal to him and had numerous side lovers who she spends the night with whenever he was out of the country doing work for the Empire.
Such as right now.
A slight scowl escaped from Kallen's mouth.
If only her older brother was still alive.
Later that day, Sabrina was helping Nunnally bring cupcakes that she made for Kallen's welcome party to the Student Council.
"Your cupcakes smell delicious, Sabrina."Nunnally stated.
"Then I guess it's safe to say that you and I both have quite big sweet teeth."Sabrina joked.
"Yeah. But I mostly prefer eating a pavlova with tropical fruits more."Nunnally giggled."Because Lelouch is worried that I might get cavities if I eat too much chocolate or other sweets."
"He sounds that loves you more than anything else."Sabrina said with a melancholy smile.
"My big brother loves me."Nunnally agreed."But I also want him to have someone special to make him happy."
"That sounds thoughtful, Nunnally."Sabrina declared and smirked mischievously."If that happens, do you want to find a special someone too?"
A little yet adorable blush appeared on Nunnally's face.
"I actually do want to find my own Prince Charming someday and end up becoming a wonderful lady like my mother."Nunnally admitted fondly.
"That's a nice dream."Sabrina praised.
Sabrina and Nunnally arrived at the clubhouse, where Lelouch and Kallen were with the rest of the Student Council.
"Hey, everyone."Nunnally greeted."We're here."
"That's great, Nunna."Shirley responded and notice Sabrina near Nunnally."Oh, your the new girl that helped Nunna from a a bunch of bullies. Sabrina, right?"
Sabrina nodded at Shirley.
"Yeah. I am, Shirley."Sabrina agreed kindly and bowed at Shirley."I'm Sabrina Harcourt."
"Nice to meet you, kid. I'm Rivalz Cardemonde."Rivalz introduced."I'm the secretary. If there's anything you need help, I'm your man."
Nina fidgeted with her hands while looking a bit nervous.
"Hi there, I'm Nina Einstein."Nina said shyly.
Sabrina gives Nina a slight frown for a moment before smiling brightly at her.
"The pleasure is all mine."Sabrina chuckled and then brought her attention to Kallen."It's wonderful to meet you too, Kallen Stadtfeld. I'm Nunnally's friend."
"Hello."Kallen responded.
Milly introduced Nunnally to Kallen.
"This girl is Lelouch's sister."Milly exclaimed.
"We're still in the middle school group, so me and Sabrina can't be on the council yet."Nunnally explained.
"That's alright."Rivalz chuckled."You're both now honorary members in our book."
Nunnally smiled at Kallen.
"Hello there."Nunnally greeted."It's a pleasure to meet you, Kallen."
Kallen gives Nunnally a smile that she was so young and nice, but sad that she was crippled and blinded.
"Thanks."Kallen thanked."You as well."
Rivalz then placed a bottle of champagne on the table.
"Right."Rivalz chuckled."Shall we kick this off with a toast?"
"Champagne?"Shirley said.
"Yeah, but we're on the Student Council."Nina reminded worriedly."But shouldn't..."
"Uh, come on! Just relax!"Rivalz insisted."Loosen up, you guys! It's sparkling cider!"
Rivalz tried to open the champagne bottle causing Shirley to rush forward to stop him from opening it.
"No way! We're gonna get in trouble! I swear!"Kallen retorted."Let me see that bottle."
"What's going on?"Nunnally asked.
Sabrina handed Nunnally a glass of orange juice.
"Don't worry, Nunnally."Sabrina assured."It's just a little squabble."
"Lelouch!"Rivalz called out."Heads up!"
Rivalz tossed the champagne bottle to Lelouch causing Shirley to try and take the bottle away from him.
"You aren't getting away with it either, Lulu!"Shirley complained."C'mon, Lulu! Let me see that bottle!"
Due to all the jostling, the cork popped and flew towards Kallen.
But Kallen swats the cork away, only for the champagne drink to shoot out of its bottle and drip all over her.
"What just happened?"Nunnally asked slightly.
Sabrina chuckled nervously and sweat dropped at the sight.
Afterwards…
Kallen was washing herself in the showers to remove the stickiness of the champagne that went all over her body.
"This is why I hate Britannins."Kallen retorted.
Then there was a knock on the door.
"It's Sabrina."Sabrina declared."I've brought you some clothes."
Kallen quickly covered the curtain, so that Sabrina didn't see her.
"You can come in."Kallen insisted.
Sabrina brings Kallen a fresh set of his own clothes for her to wear, unable to see her behind the shower curtain.
"Sorry about all this."Sabrina apologised."They can be a little…much."
Sabrina then placed the change of clothes down on a chair near the curtain.
"It's okay."Kallen assured."Nothing wrong with cutting loose every once in a while, ya know?"
"These are some of Lelouch's clothes."Sabrina replied with a hint of embarrassment."Hope that's okay."
"It's cool, don't worry about it. That was fast."Kallen complemented."He went all the way to the boy's dorm?"
"Actually, they live here. It'd be pretty hard for Nunnally to stay in the dorms."Sabrina explained while leaning against the wall."The Principal lets them stay here as a favour."
"I see."Kallen said.
"So how is life at home?"Sabrina asked."It must be tricky for you to catch up with school with everything that is going on."
"It's not that bad."Kallen assured as she washed her hair."Due to my father's status as a baron, I have a lot of maids to help me out."
"Such as your mother."Sabrina thought sadly.
Sabrina started fiddling with the locket around her neck that had a gem that looked like a Phoenix attached to it.
"Family is one of the most important things in life to everyone. No matter who or where they're from."Sabrina explained."In Lelouch's case, the reason he gambles and wins chess matches against nobles is to earn money to mostly take care of Nunnally to make sure she is always living comfortably."
Kallen suddenly sensed something familiar about Sabrina's voice.
"Why is Lelouch so interested in chess?"Kallen asked with a hint of curiosity.
Sabrina let out a scoff.
"Believe it or not, chess is one of his grand master skills and is a popular game among high class Britannians."Sabrina complemented with a hint of amusement."One of his chess games ended up leading him to the Shinjuku Ghettos and say code names like Q-1 and P-5. Though it's harmless nonsense anyway."
Kallen's eyes widen at what Sabrina just said.
"Chess seems to play an important role in Britannian nobility as a way of developing and demonstrating tactical skill now days. Though I find this game lame to the highest level."Sabrina retorted and then shrugged."Anyway, see you-"
"Wait!"Kallen protested.
Sabrina stopped herself from leaving the room and looked at Kallen.
"Could you hand me my pouch?"Kallen asked.
A short silence occured between the two girls.
"Sure."Sabrina answered.
Kallen saw Sabrina walk forward and grab her pouch from the counter.
Sabrina kept her back to Kallen as she handed her the pouch.
But as Sabrina's arm entered the shower, Kallen gripped it causing the pouch to fall to the shower floor.
"Whoa."Sabrina chuckled in amusement."For a girl that is mostly ill and absent from school life, you have quite a grip."
Kallen picked up the pouch and activated the hidden dagger inside it.
"Were you the one in Shinjuku?"Kallen questioned sharply."The one piloting the pink coloured Sutherland?"
Suddenly, Sabrina took out her pocket knife using her free hand and aimed it at Kallen.
"It's morally wrong to interrogate one of the two people that saved your life and helped you kick the Lancelot's ass, Q-1."Sabrina retorted.
"It is you."Kallen scowled."You're the one called 'Kitsune'."
"Yes, I am."Sabrina replied with a frown."But I'm not here to interrogate or assassinate like you're trying to do, Kallen Kōzuki."
Kallen became utterly stunned at hearing Sabrina address her using her mother's maiden name.
"How did you-"Kallen started.
"I know everything and your reasons on fighting against Britannia."Sabrina assured."But you and I share similar goals."
"Like hell we do!"Kallen retorted angrily."You're a Britannian!"
"I'm actually quarter-Japanese despite my appearance of a Britannian pretty face."Sabrina snapped strictly, her amethyst eyes showing sparks of flame within them."I despise what Britannia did to Japan seven years ago. In fact, I despise Britannia's tyranny and people who follow the philanderer of an Emperor's ideology without caring how much blood is spilled in their hands."
"What are you saying?"Kallen asked.
"Me and the one called 'Zero' are planning to start a rebellion. In other words, an army filled with people that will stand up against Britannia and everything it stands for."Sabrina explained."But Zero's identity needs to be kept secret in the meantime. You'll know who he is later on."
Sabrina then easily removed her arm from Kallen, who carefully took in what she just heard.
"Now that's aside, here's the time I'll meet you and the rest of Kaname's group."Sabrina informed."16:00 hours, the day after tomorrow at the observation deck of Tokyo Tower."
"Fine."Kallen answered simply."See you then."
Sabrina nodded then left the bathroom.
Lelouch was in his bedroom with C.C and the two of them had listened to the conversation that Sabrina was having with Kallen in the radio device she handed them back in Shinjuku.
"It seems that the two of them didn't stab each other."C.C complemented.
"That's a relief."Lelouch said with a slight chuckle."At least Sabrina's plan worked far better than I thought it would."
"So what will you do now?"C.C asked smugly."If Zero's going to meet this little resistance group, he'll need a costume to appeal the small crowd and the same goes for Kitsune."
Lelouch gives C.C a knowing smirk.
"Leave that to me."Lelouch assured simply."I'll take care of it."
After Kallen finished showering and putting on Lelouch's spare clothes, the heiress of the Stadtfeld Household followed Sabrina back to the room where Nunnally and the rest of the Student Council were.
"The council doesn't require much actual work, I guess."Lelouch explained."Beyond occasional paperwork, we'll sometimes plan school events."
"So you mean like the cultural festival?"Kallen assumed.
"Yep, like that."Lelouch said with a sheepish smile."Along with the cross-dressers' ball, the absolute silence party and swim suit day."
"What's up with that?"Kallen chuckled.
"Blame our president."Lelouch remarked."You'll be spending a lot of time with her. Hope you're ready."
Lelouch and Kallen arrived to the room and saw their friends watching TV that reported Prince Clovis' death throughout Area 11.
"Lelouch, it's awful!"Nunnally declared.
"What is?"Lelouch questioned.
"Prince Clovis has been found dead."Milly admitted.
"They're saying he was killed."Rivalz stated.
Lelouch looked at the screen to see Jeremiah giving a speech, only to suddenly feel that he knows him from somewhere.
"Prince Clovis has been taken from us."Jeremiah stated."He fought for peace and justice against all of the Elevens. He died a martyr. We must all bury our sorrow, and carry on his will."
Suddenly, the report changed to a female reporter giving an announcement.
"We interrupt this broadcast with breaking news."the female reporter stated."The man suspected as the murderer has been captured. According to this report, the suspect is an Honorary Britannian. Private Suzaku Kururugi, a former Eleven and Honorary Britannian. I repeat, Suzaku Kururugi arrested for murder."
A hateful glare was secretly on Sabrina's face as Suzaku being taken as a prisoner by two Britannian soldiers while being yelled by an angry crowd.
She carefully then glanced at Lelouch, who was shocked at seeing his childhood being arrested for a crime he didn't even commit.
"And so now it will begin…"Sabrina thought grimly.
