Calderon Prison, the largest prison in the region.
A feared place where Technoid placed their most high profile prisoners.
Corso went through the list of people they were looking for.
They were going to need multiple teams for this rescue mission.
Pirates often didn't free people.
Too risky.
But Sonny wanted to change that.
Corso switched to a map that showed the ventilation system.
That could be used to break in.
But it would take a few hours.
It wouldn't be his first rescue mission, being a high ranked Chissian Soldier.
He had to do many, mostly for the warring Factions on the Planet who had no issue taking civilians, even children.
Corso shook the memories. No time to think about the past.
Never time for that.
Last time he was at this prison, he had no idea what Technoid did to their inmates.
He thought they were just giving him information.
The reality was much more sinister.
Still, even if he wanted to do something, he'd probably be too afraid.
Corso said this was too dangerous a mission for him.
And Corso was probably right.
Still, they had to do something.
"We'll go in with teams of four. Once your group has secured their rescues back to The Black Manta, we'll head back and regroup before we depart. Once this rescue is over, I want as much intel as you can gather. That said, stay together, and don't try to play the hero, understand?" Sonny asked, looking at his people.
They all nodded.
Hopefully this mission will be a success.
So far, no alarms, meaning the stealth mode worked.
Their pilot; Raver, parked the Black Manta where it would be hidden well.
Corso gave his gear one last look before looking over at Sonny, who wore a hood, and goggles.
Sonny stood next to a board and assigned each group to different areas of the prison.
At this point, everyone knew what they had to do, who they had to get.
"Corso, You, Bennett and Cody are with me. We'll make our way to cellblock E. There's three people we need there, I just hope they are able to move on their own." Sonny said.
Corso nodded.
"Sonny, you make sure to keep your head low. And no one implies he's our leader. That'll paint a target on his back." He ordered.
Sonny sighed, but nodded before they entered the prison.
Bennett felt ill at ease when they entered the prison.
His main job was to hack and shut down the surveillance cameras.
He couldn't mess this up.
Their leader was there, too.
Bennett opened a panel and plugged his portable unit into it.
He activated the needed program and punched in a few keys, then he turned to Sonny.
"All clear." He said.
Sonny nodded and led his group in towards the cells they needed.
Extremely well hidden, since Bleylock didn't want these people to be found.
Corso used his cybernetic eye to check for anything suspicious.
None so far. This place was too recent.
They needed to get to the older part.
Using a cloaking device, they would remain undetected by any guards on patrol.
It took several minutes to reach the old part of the prison.
Corso couldn't help but muse how easy things were.
He was used to Chissian prisons that were meant for soldiers.
Much better guarded.
He was lucky to get out when he did.
Especially since the hard labor they forced him into nearly broke him.
Finally, Sonny stopped, and looked around.
"This is where our targets should be." He said.
Corso nodded and started to scan the area.
Most of the cells were empty.
His eye kept scanning as they walked.
Then, a room that was locked, and marked as an infirmary.
"Interrogation rooms. Hidden beneath a veneer of being taken care of. Even truth serum was applied. Of course, Duke Maddox never knew." Sonny said, as a response to Corso's questioning look.
Corso nodded; he figured as much.
He just wondered why Sonny knew.
Corso looked around, then stopped.
"There's a hidden room to the right. There's people in there." He said.
Sonny gave him a small smile.
"Let's have a look." He said.
Cody opened the doors with his tools.
As Sonny looked over the three captives, he couldn't help but feel disappointed.
These weren't the people he was looking for.
"I'Son? Is it really you? " One of them, who was wearing a labcoat, asked.
Sonny froze for a second.
It had been so long since anyone used that name.
He slowly nodded.
"I once used that name. Who are you?" He asked.
The prisoner looked at him.
"Ken Shudder, we used to play football on our off time. You were a real brick wall." He said.
Sonny nodded as the memories came back to him.
"Since you ended up here, I guess you pissed off someone at Technoid." Sonny concluded.
Ken Shudder nodded.
"As observant as ever. Do you want me to call you by your old name, or do you have a new one?" He asked.
Sonny gave a small smile.
"I go by Sonny now." He said.
Ken nodded.
"At least you got out when you pissed off Bleylock." He said.
Sonny nodded.
"You can come with us if we want. The Pirates life has to be better than this." He said.
Ken looked a bit suspicious./
"Under Magnus Blade? Doesn't sound much better." He said.
Sonny and Corso exchanged a look.
It was Cody who spoke up.
"Don't worry, Magnus is gone and we got a new boss." Cody said.
All the prisoners looked at the Pirates.
Ken's eyes widened in shock as he looked at Sonny.
"It's you isn't it, Sonny?" He asked.
Sonny simply nodded.
Ken looked relieved.
"We can't stay any longer. The Robot Guards are coming." Corso said.
Sonny gave the order to return to the ship, and everyone made their way back.
Bleylock was furious to learn that the pirates infiltrated Calderon, and freed twelve high ranked prisoners.
He guessed Magnus Blade finally gave into peer pressure.
At least it wasn't someone as important as I'Son this time.
I'Son…
A man he loved and hated.
Him joining the Pirates was one of the worst things to happen to Technoid.
Duke Maddox, the fool, figured this was something he could… talk…. His way out.
No, that wasn't how this was going to go.
Still, he knew he couldn't deal with I'Son directly.
He started to watch the footage from the escape.
The first footage they managed to get of 'Sonny' in a long while.
He knew to keep his head down.
Bleylock wondered just how much of his old life these 'Pirates' knew.
Probably not much.
He'd keep that to himself.
Still, the risk was still non-zero, so he had to be taken back.
For his knowledge.
But first, he had to find him.
Much of the footage was unremarkable, until he spotted I'son.
Bleylock upped the volume, to try to hear what they were saying.
They spoke about a new leader.
Magnus Blade was gone.
That was interesting news.
Who was the new leader?
Bleylock kept listening, smiling when he heard who it was.
Dear… Sonny.
That was going to draw attention.
That was going to force him to act.
Bleylock wondered if he could have Maddox put Sonny on the top of the Bounty List with this evidence.
Now more then ever, they needed him back.
