It's has been one week since the disaster with Shepard. Karin is standing in front of Admiral Hackett as he goes over Specter Williams report.

"I see things did not go as planed Corporal. Things are not going well in the Alliance or the Hirearchy." Hackett said as he rose from his desk. " But this is nothing, compared to what has been brought to my attention which has the Normandy crew worried. This video was sent to Alliance High Command." Stated Hackett as a video of when they thought they had Shepard in custody. This video is showing when she was hang onto the ship divider and Shepard kneeling down to talk to her, as it plays the wind is drowning out what Shepard is saying.

"What did she say to you Corporal?" Asked Hackett as Karin remained silent.

"The high command dose not know about this Corporal. I managed to grab this before they could." Stated Hackett as Karin still remained silent. "Corporal just tell me. Don't make me make this as an order Corporal." Stated Hackett as Karin simply sighed.

"All she said was 'if you survive this come find me, we always have room for more.' " Answered Karin as Hackett simply looked at the N7 in front of him

"I see... I can see why the Normandy crew would be worried." stated Hackett.

"Sir, I won't betray the Alliance or the Normandy." Karin chimed in as Hackett thought over this.

"We can use this to our advantage." Hackett stated as this brought some confusion to Karin.

"What do you mean sir." asked Karin as Hackett turned to face the N7.

"I want you to find Shepard and join her, then when you can report back with what you can find, but more importantly I want you to find what you can on Shepard, find out where they have hidden Harbinger." Hackett Stated as shock is now plastered on her face.

"Sir with all due respect I can't. Not after what Shepard has done. She killed many of my friends..." Answered Karin as Hackett remained unmoved as he was expecting this answer.

"I understand...Captain." Stated Hackett as this shocked the N7 with the promotion as Hackett moved in front of her and placed captain bars on her collar. "You remained vigilant, and un moved in the face of a domestic threat. You are to remain on the Normandy under Specter Williams but answer only to me and the Specter." Hackett clarified as Karin is still in shock. "I need some one who dose not know Shepard personally on the Normandy. and answerable to a select few your test on the jungle planet may not have gone as planed but you passed. You may not think you are ready but I believe you are."

"Sir...can I ask you something...off the record." Karin asked as Hackett simply nodded.

"Is it true what Shepard said...did you really let Shepard 'fall'." Asked Karin as once again Hackett remained un moved.

"Yes...and not by choice...I let her fall, after everything she has done for this planet and the rest of the Galaxy, to let her fall was the hardiest decision I have ever made...You are dismissed captain...think over that other assessment we discussed." Hackett ordered as he made his way to his desk and Karin made her way out of his office and made her way to the locker room.

One Hour Later

Karin is trying to walk out of the Alliance HQ with increased security walking the halls and increased number of check points. As she made her way out she could see protesters blocking the entrance to Alliance Headquarters. As she made her way to the steps an Alliance Military Police came up to her and asked for her ID. She remained at the entrance just overlooking the protesters letting what happened over the past week play out in her mind what Shepard said what Hackett just told her, her "Promotion" to captain that was a surprise. She was a Captain under Admrial Anderson during the Reaper War while she was in the USNA Army. Hackett is just trying to use her to get to Shepard and Phoenix.

But for her to do this means she has to work with Shepard. A person she once admired, but she can't help feel a good cause is with Phoenix and not with the Alliance. Feeling torn between her sense of duty and her sense of patriotism. Which will it be, will she fight for the Alliance or for Phoenix and alongside Shepard. As she was forced to do what she is doing because of the Alliance, but to do so will go against everything She has ever been taught to do. Loyalty, Duty, and Honor. But what happens when the people you fight for have no sense of either one and make others who do, do the fighting. But she won't let this out of control chaos become more chaotic then it has to be.

Karin looks at the protesters, then she looks back at building and in one of the windows she spots Hackett, who in turn looks at her. She knows she will regret what she is about to do but she knows now what she has to do even though she would love to continue to serve on the Normandy. She is needed else were right now. Karin gives a slight nod, and Hackett in turn gives a slight nod.

As Karin was about to walk back into the building a group of Alliance N7's made there way to her, she however started to walk the other way in the direction of the protesters. As Karin moved closer to the group of protesters they became more agitated probably because of the group of N7 soldiers following her. As she made her move into the large crowd the protesters simply let her move among them but they kept the N7 from entering. As she moved past the crowd to an open street a sky car pulls up to Karin and opens the door reviling a human female.

"Hurry get in, before the Alliance gets past the crowed." ordered the human woman as Karin climbed in.

"Who are you?" asked Karin as the woman smiled and kept on driving.

"I work for Phoenix, corporal, my name is Jasmine O'Hair." answered Jasmine.

"It's captain." Karin corrected as this confused the Phoenix operator.

"Captain, when did you receive your promotion? We have no record of this." asked operator.

"An hour and half ago." answered Karin as the Phoenix operative is now more confused.

"This makes no sense you get promoted, and now you are being hunted by the Alliance? Can you feel in the blanks." asked Jasmine as Karin just looked at her.

"Shepard, it's not Hackett but the PM." Karin stated under her breath as the Phoenix operative waited for an answer. "I blame Sh...the PM for this it's not Hackett." answered Karin as she was about to let out a name that would end her mission before it begin.

"This still makes no sense Captain." Stated Phoenix operative as Karin is laughing inside she thinks I will tell her when we just meet.

"Shepard talked to me on my last mission the wind was so loud it drowned out audio. The High Brass must think it was talk between Shepard and a Phoenix operative." answered Karin as this cleared up much of whats going on here.

"Still does not answer for your promotion, but I'm not going to pry." Stated Jasmine as she brought the car to a motel. As she sets down near the motel, Jasmine handed Karin a key card. "Go to room 312, don't answer the door unless its me, there is food in the room and a change of clothes." The Phoenix Operative stated as Karin got out of the sky car and the door behind her closed.
