Chapter 12

The day couldn't end too soon for the boys. "Come on let's head to my house and talk with my dad." Said Shikamaru with a sigh. The boys nodded their heads as they followed after the Nara heir.

Ino spotting the boy's walking out of the main gates of the Academy followed after them as she wanted to know what happen to her fellow blonde as she didn't harbor any hard feelings to the boy. She understood he just had a shitty hand in life. But what it was. It was one of the juiciest pieces of gossip she could never get her tiny little hands on. "Hey wait for me." She called after the boys as she ran after them.

Shikamaru looked over his shoulder over at her. "Why do you want to come along?" He questions her in a lazy tone as he shoves his hands into his pockets as he stops.

Ino stops balling her hands up into fist holding them up into her chest. Looking at him. "Nar…Naruto is my friend. We spend time together in momma's special garden talking and playing as she watches over us on weekends. While daddy's work friend Ibiki talks with momma plants his needs for T&I." She told him looking down as tears well up in the corner of her eyes.

Shikamaru's eyes widen by slightly shocked to hear this. But he recovered before anyone could notice. "Fine. But don't make any trouble." He told her as she smiled and runs up to them.

They walked quietly to the Nara Clan Compound. Each kid lost in their own thoughts as to why their blonde hair friend wouldn't be returning to the Academy and why he was being singled out and targeted by the others in the academy and village as a whole as they all saw it. But didn't know how to address it to the boy as he always tried to turn a blind eye to the abuse, he went through on a daily basis.

ANBU HQ

Naruto sat at the table looking over his homework as Flamingo went to grab a book from the library for the boy. 'Man so much has happen for me. I can't believe it.' He thought to himself with a smile on his face as he looked down at the black tee shirt he had on and red shorts as ANBU stole all his orange jumpsuits and burnt them all.

Deep inside of his mind crimson eyes open slowly as it could feel the hatred slowly fading away from it's host. 'It appears his sad little life is getting better.' As it closes it eyes once more.

Naruto yawns as he closes his eyes and lets his head falls onto the table almost falling asleep.

Nara House

Shikamaru walks into his house. "Mom I'm home and I have a few friends over. Is dad here?" He called out to his mother.

"Welcome home sweetie and yes your father is home, and he is outside with his friends." Called out his mother smiling at her son and his little friends. "I'll be out with some tea and snacks shortly for all of you." She called after them as they walled thought the house to the back sliding door.

Outside sitting under the trees in the shade Shikaku sat listening to Inoichi talk about a report about Jonin's and other reports. "Also I heard from Ibiki that Naruto's lessons are going well. The rookies have taken a shine to him." He said with a chuckle.

Shikaku smirked as his open his left eye looking over at his friend. "That is good to hear." He said as he spotted his son a lot with his little friends. "It appears the kids are here for answers." He told them." As he motion with his chin. Inoichi looked over his right shoulder seeing his daughter and the boys.

"Hey dad." Said Shikamaru as he stood before his dad with his hands in his pockets looking down at the man that held almost as much power as the Hokage before him. But to him it was just his father.

"Son. What brings you all here today?" Shikaku question his son.

"We want to know what happen to Naruto. Why isn't he no longer in the Academy?" Question Shikamaru as he looked down at his father.

Both men looked at each other and back at the children. "He was kicked out of the Academy by the former Head Master. Also to protect him from some trouble he was place into protection." Said Shikaku look up at his son.

"We also heard you say he is studying with ANBU?" Said Shikamaru a little annoyed looking down at his father.

"Son that is classified that is something Naruto would have to tell you." He told his son looking at his son.

Shikamaru nodded his head and looks to the others. "I guess we just needs to wait and see if Naruto will come and find out or we will see him soon." He tells the other. They just nods their heads looking at them.

Both men nod their heads as they share a look.

"Well then we will leave you dad." Said Shikamaru as he and the others turn to leave.

After they left both men looked at each other once more. "We should speak to Ibiki about allowing Naruto seeing his friends once more." Said Inoichi as he smiles.

Shikaku just nods his head and closes his eyes once more.
