A/N: Here is Chapter 20… Time for some fun! (and a surprise in the chapter)
Ferro Fett was on a rampage. The henchmen were sitting on the bridge as Ferro Fett was running around smashing things to the ground. The past couple of days have not been so great for him. Part of it was because the rangers defeated a top monster that Gircannon used, twice. Not to mention, the Grey Ranger joined the team, so it made things a little tough for him. The Ferrothorn like bounty hunter turned around as he roared in anger.
"Ferro Fett, there's no point in damaging your ship. Let's calm down," said Cremelia.
"No! I won't calm down! I want that planet gone! I want those crystals now!" shouted Ferro Fett angrily.
Turnchou turned around as he looked at Cremelia. Cremelia shook her head as Shockhound said nothing. He would rather not get involved. Turning around, he noticed Maracturne was sitting at the console, working on a few things as he grinned. He got up from the console as he turned around.
"What is that guy doing?" asked Shockhound to himself.
After two minutes the door opened as a Hypno monster arrived with a microphone. It was bright pink and it had the eyes of Jigglypuff. It also had a hypnosis ring that was held on a some type of string. Cremelia and Turnchou looked at the creature, looking at it with awe.
"It looks so beautiful! I love it! Maracturne, is this your beast?" asked Cremelia.
"Yes! I think we need some love," said Maracturne, grinning, "Or a way to break the rangers up…"
Ferro Fett stopped rampaging as he turned to Maracturne. The creature turned around as he looked at him, "Ferro Fett, sir. My name is Commander Hypnopuff. All I need to do is get people to fall for it… but there's a catch."
"What catch?" asked Ferro Fett.
"They will get so fired up over something with emotions, that Hypnopuff can capture them! This plan is painless!" said Maracturne.
Cremelia darted her eyes as she looked at Maracturne, "Maracturne, dear… that's not a good plan. That's honestly a dumb plan!"
"Toots, do you have any better ideas?" asked Maracturne, tipping his head, raising an eyebrow. Cremelia rolled her eyes as she looked at Maracturne, "Alright… do it."
Maracturne grinned as he leaned on Hypnopuff, "Come on Hypnopuff… let's capture some humans for the crystals!"

Chapter 20: The Mighty Monferno
"HAH!"
Mack spun around at the Oreburgh Fitness Center with his hand, crushing three boards. He turned around as he used an elbow smacking the other boards across. He turned around as he spun a hook kick, smashing them to the ground. Wiping the sweat off his head, the gold ranger took a deep breath as he went to get a glass of water. Mack has been adapting well after being in the Dinosaur Kingdom for years… and trapped in Shockhound's body. He was thinking a lot about things in terms of what he wanted to do now that he was in the present. He decided that maybe it would be best to be a Pokémon Watcher. He's done enough battles where Pokémon Training to him wouldn't feel so great. Rather than training, he would rather observe. But there's a hitch… Mack had no Pokémon when he came to the present. Right now, however, there was a special gift from Lisa. He reached for his Dino Com, hearing a beeping noise.
"Hey, what's up?" asked Mack, looking at Lisa on the intercom.
"Oh I didn't realize you're training. You know how you said you wanted to become a Pokémon Watcher?" asked Lisa.
"… Yeah," said Mack, looking in his watch.
"Well, while shopping I got a call from Professor Oak. He was calling Leona about her research and she talked about you. He wants to send a starter Pokémon from Kanto to you as a gift. He wanted to know when you wanted to pick one!"
Mack jumped up in response as he looked at the watch, "That's great!'
"You could also get a starter from Rowan… but Kanto starters are pretty cool," said Lisa, grinning.
"I'll call him as soon as I'm done with my shift… which means I have to leave now to begin my shift!" Mack responded. Closing the Dino Com, he quickly went to put the boards away. As he went to put them away, a board went flying right toward Mack. Turning quickly, he watched as a Pokémon used Brick Break, sending the board flying toward him. Mack was hit in the face as he landed on the ground. The planks landed on the floor as he looked up, noticing a Monferno.
"Monferno!"
"You need to be careful!" he said, angrily. Monferno looked at Mack's fearful eyes as he turned around looking at a trainer, who was watching him. Assuming Monferno belonged to him, the trainer walked over as he angrily looked at him. "How dare you yell at Monferno? He's not in the wrong!"
"Uh… okay? But, isn't he supposed to be supervised?" he asked.
"He's just a Pokémon!" the trainer said, waving his finger, "How dare you make him feel down!"
Mack stared down at him, "Trainers can control what Pokémon can do if they raise them correctly."
"How do you know? I don't see you with no Pokémon!"
"True… but I have friends who train their Pokémon with ease. Now, if you'll excuse me…" Mack responded. As he went to leave, the trainer turned as he walked toward him. The trainer was screaming blasphemy as Mack walked out the door, leaving him behind. The Monferno looked at Mack and then at the trainer, who was embarrassed as he continued screaming.
Oreburgh Museum…
"THESE PRICES ARE INSANE! I WANT A REFUND!"
Grayson placed his hands in front as he was trying to calm a whole enraged family over the tickets. Joe rolled his eyes as he was looking to figure out how to appease the family, without the family seeing it. As Joe went to call Roark, Atticus was heading toward the family, who was screaming at them. One person had her arms crossed as her green eyes stared at her. As she did a hair flip, she took out a Poké Ball, "Are we going to get this fixed?"
"They are working on it!" said Atticus.
"Then work on it FASTER!" she shouted.
"Ma'am, you need to leave," Atticus, pointing to the door. The female trainer flipped her green hair as she grabbed him by the shirt, "How about a Pokémon Battle? If you lose, I get in for free!"
Atticus took a deep breath as he grabbed the mic that was in his collar, "Security to the lobby!"
Within a few minutes, four people were walking swiftly toward the main lobby. They were wearing red helmets with grey uniforms that had gold badges on them. They wore brown boots and each one either had a rock type Pokémon, specifically a Geodude or a Graveler. Immediately, the Geodude walked over as it grabbed the customer. The security was forcing them out the glass doors as Atticus, Joe and Grayson looked confused. Upon leaving, Mack walked in as he went to go start his shift, seeing the three rangers confused.
"Seriously… she did realize those tickets were non-refundable for that show. Roark said so in the contract," said Grayson, "Read the fine print!"
"I have to admit, these customers have gotten nasty with their attitude. It's been happening at the restaurant we have in the museum and it's been happening in the Oreburgh Mine," Joe said, rolling his eyes, "I've had more 'Are you the manager' questions than I had time to go into the cash office to figure out Roark's finances for the museum!"
"Try making sure the kids don't go into the exhibit and the parents yell at you… same thing with Pokémon," Atticus said, annoyed, "There must be a full moon happening."
"Well, it better be a full moon," said Grayson, shaking his head, "I don't feel like dealing with these crazy customers."
"Remember, we're here because…," said Joe.
"I know, I know… to help Roark while we save the world," said Grayson, rolling his eyes as he went back to help the customers. Joe turned around as he looked at Mack, "Hey, you're a little late, you know?"
"I know… Sorry," Mack replied in an utter tone as he was walking away. Joe turned around as he rolled his eyes, knowing what was going on. Joe decided to follow him to the office, where it said 'Employees Only' written in gold letters. As Mack walked inside, he placed his backpack in his locker, turning around as he looked at Joe, "What?"
"You seem… very on edge today," said Joe, looking at the gold ranger, "What's up?"
"I got yelled at by a trainer for doing nothing wrong," said Mack, looking at Joe, "Apparently, I was finishing my workout. And this Monferno decides to hit me by accident with breaking a board. I went to go find the trainer and the trainer yells at me."
"Well, the trainer should've scolded the Pokémon, not you. It's in the Fitness Center rules that Pokémon are to be supervised by their trainers for their safety," said Joe. Mack nodded as he got his red helmet out, "Yeah, I know. But, it wasn't the only time I saw him today. That Monferno ran around the gym like it was a wild Pokémon, bothering other trainers and Pokémon. That trainer didn't even care… he just let the Pokémon do what he wanted."
"Well, I mean Pokémon are free to do what they want if their trainers are around. The goal is to make relationships…," said Joe, "Unless… that Monferno wasn't trained properly to obey."
"That's what I was thinking, but I didn't watch Monferno break the board completely," Mack said, "And then walking in here today…"
"Yeah, don't get me started. We were threatened to battle her… it's a long story," Joe said through his breath.
Mack nodded as he finished getting the grey jacket in his locker, "It seems Joe that no one respects each other anymore. In my time, you were disrespectful, you had to bring boulders from one side to another… or carrying water buckets up a mountain by yourself… or even not allowed to speak unless spoken to."
"Times have changed since the era of the Dinosaur Kingdom, dude," said Joe, patting Mack on the shoulder, "We just try to do our best and raise Pokémon to be the best they can be, and we try to respect others as best we can."
Mack nodded as he closed the locker door. Joe and Mack continued their conversation as they opened the door, heading back into the main hallway.
Hours later…
The sun was setting as Mack's hours of work were coming to an end. The gold ranger was sitting down as he was placing his work jacket and helmet back in the locker. Grabbing his backpack, he was on his way to head over to Lisa's apartment to talk to Professor Oak about getting a Pokémon to start his Pokémon Watcher career. He turned around as he saw Grayson sitting in the front desk, adding up the numbers as he saw the sunsetting. The museum closed for the day. Atticus was helping clean the floor as he turned to Mack. Mack turned around as Joe was sitting in the cash office, finishing the counts for the day. Mack sighed as he turned to the entrance. Grayson looked up as he watched Mack leave.
"Yo," said Grayson, "Mack, I know I don't usually go to these things, but Joe and Atticus were going to go to Hearthome City tonight to watch a show. Do you want to go?"
Mack turned around as he looked at Grayson, "I would love to. But, I have an appointment with Lisa. I have a surprise apparently from Professor Oak."
"Professor Oak?" asked Grayson.
"Yeah, I'm getting my first Pokémon!" Mack said, grinning.
"No way!" said Atticus, grinning as he overheard the conversation, "You better get a Squirtle…"
"No… Charmander. They are noble and strong," said Grayson, grinning.
Joe, overhearing the conversation, rolled out on his chair as he pointed to Mack, "Bulbasaur would definitely suit you."
Mack chuckled as he looked at all of them. He scratched the back of his head as he turned to the three rangers, "Right now, I'll think about it. Have fun at the show!"
Turning around, Mack opened the door, walking toward the exit. As the door closed, Atticus grinned as he turned to the others, "I bet you my shift he chooses Squirtle."
"You can't bet work shifts!" Joe said, shaking his head, "That is now how we do things. Plus, I don't want to bet my shift. Being a manager is tough."
Grayson looked at Joe as Joe turned to him. Grayson laughed as he looked at him, "Joe, you have never worked at the front desk. You wouldn't even know."
Joe grumbled as he looked at Atticus, "If I win, you have to do the janitorial work."
Grayson and Joe nodded as they reluctantly shook hands with Atticus. Atticus grinned as he turned to Grayson and Joe, "Good."
Outside, the gold ranger was walking away from the Oreburgh Museum. Looking at the sunset, he turned around as he was watching the pink and red shades of the sky. He turned around as he walked down the street. Some places were still being repaired from the attack and some buildings are open for business. As he turned to see the streetlights on, he looked straight across to see a Monferno. Mack stopped as he looked at the Monferno. He noticed it was the same Monferno that was at the Fitness Center.
"Monferno?" asked Mack, walking over.
As he approached Monferno, Monferno turned away from the trainer. Mack looked over as he turned to him, "What's wrong?"
Monferno pointed across toward a nearby bench in the city. Mack looked up as he stood there in surprise. He noticed the trainer that was sitting on the bench, however, he was petting Hypnopuff. Hypnopuff grinned as he looked at the trainer, "That's a good trainer… see Monferno, for someone so wild and disobedient… you really suck as a Pokémon."
"HEY!"
Hypnopuff looked up as Mack stood there angrily, "That was rude!"
Monferno looked over as he tried to talk to the trainer. The trainer was still over Hypnopuff as Hypnopuff grinned, "I would love to be your Pokémon. Come with me!"
Hypnopuff climbed up from the bench and started running. The trainer followed him, knocking Monferno down. Monferno looked up as Mack nodded, having him lead the way. Chasing the two of them down, they headed down the street as they turned a corner. Mack pulled Monferno aside as he looked over, noticing Hypnopuff with the trainer… talking to Maracturne and Turnchou.
"So… a new trainer, eh?" he asked.
"Separating them from their Pokémon was a smart move. More angry trainers, more angry families, more separation," said Turnchou, "And if this works, we can separate Energy Crystals from the rangers!"
Mack stepped forward as he went to speak, "This is honestly your plan? I find it idiotic! Let me guess, Maracturne's plan?"
Maracturne stood in shock as he aimed his machine gun at Mack, "I am NOT an idiot! How long were you standing there?"
"Long enough to know what you're doing. This plot will be foiled so quick I won't even need to ask for help," said Mack, grabbing his Fossil Charger, "Aerodactyl Charger, Energize!"
Pressing the button, a golden aura surrounded his energy crystal into the fossil charger. He did a little spin, creating a dance as he placed his hand on the morpher. Pulling a lever, the energy slot opened to place the charger inside.
Aerodactyl, Energize!
"Unleash the Power!"
Closing the slot, he pulled the slot with his finger. A golden aura shot out of the morpher as an Aerodactyl emerged. Aerodactyl swooped around as he transformed into his suit. He raised his Golden Amber Morpher and pulled the trigger. Golden beams struck out as Hypnopuff was hit. Hypnopuff screamed as it landed on the ground. Immediately, Mack jumped up as he released his Golden Amber Saber. As he raised it above his head, he dove down with it, only for Hypnopuff to block it. A blue aura surrounded Hypnopuff as Mack landed on the ground. Mack looked up as Hypnopuff's body began to glow. Keeping the Jigglypuff face, Hypno's physiology transformed into a Gothitelle like body.
"What the-?" asked Mack.
"My true form… Gothipuff. Take this!"
Instantly, Mack was struck by a Shadow Punch. Mack was thrown to the ground as Gothipuff released a rainbow beam like attack. Mack blocked it with his sword. He turned around as a golden energy aura surrounded his saber, only for Gothipuff to disappear. Mack turned around as he noticed Gothipuff right in front of him. Gothipuff placed his hands on Mack. A black and red aura surrounded Mack as his energy was drained. Mack yelled as a golden aura surrounded his body. Unmorphing, Gothipuff grabbed his energy crystal, breaking the necklace as Mack landed on the ground.
"Hahahaha, this is perfect," said Turnchou, "Shockhound said he wanted this back… but we can use it for our plan! Thanks, Gold!"
A flash of energy surrounded them as they disappeared. Mack struggled as he tried to get up. He turned around as the Monferno looked over. Mack tried to get up again, but only landing on the ground.
"Mack!"
Mack turned around as he looked up, noticing the other rangers. Atticus and Grayson held him as Joe turned around to look at what was going on, he then noticed the Monferno. Joe turned around as he looked at the others, "Let's head back to Dino Paradise."
Monferno looked up, "Mon…"
"Where's your trainer, Monferno?" asked Joe, curious to hear what happened.
"Mon… Monferno!" the Monferno said, jumping up and down in anger.
Mack grumbled as he looked at Joe, "His trainer is with that two-faced creature."
"What?" asked Grayson.
"We might as well bring him along…," said Joe, waving Monferno along, "Let's go!"
Dino Paradise…
As Mack was laying down on the bench, he was sitting with a pillow behind his head. Groaning in pain, Monferno looked over, concerned about Mack. Turning around, he saw flashes of red, aqua, grey and pink appear in front of them. Looking up in response, Thomas stared at Mack, seeing his discolored face, "What happened to you?"
"It was like a nightmare," said Mack, "So… it looks like we've ran into the dumbest plot Ferro Fett has ever done."
"What now?" asked Lisa, looking at Mack. Mack nodded as he lifted himself up, "So, this monster is able to take trainers who whine to become their trainers, thus separating the original Pokémon from the trainer. I only know that because this Monferno belongs to the trainer that scolded me."
"Say what?" asked Grayson, "That's the Monferno?"
Grayson looked over as he went to examine the Monferno. Monferno turned around as he screamed a little, overprotecting Mack. Grayson shrugged, "Are you sure? This Pokémon looks like he's more attached to you."
"Well… that's the thing…," said Mack, "He's upset because the trainer pretty much left him for that puffy creature. Next thing I know, I am fighting his alter ego… and he was able to drain my ranger powers and take my energy crystal."
"So… Ferro Fett's new beast is a two-faced monster. One to separate and make trainers fall in love with and a monster to suck the life and destroy. That's dreadful," Leona said, "And let me guess… Maracturne's idea?"
"Yep," replied Mack.
Leona rolled her eyes as she looked at them, "It's enough that Maracturne already got himself here before Drake wiped his memory. I'm now worried he will be able to break in… or worse, try to get Aerodactyl back."
Mack nodded slowly as he turned around to look at Leona. He looked up as he turned to Monferno. Monferno looked down as Mack grinned, "I'll be okay… just need some rest."
Kyland turned around, "Well, there's no point of going out to investigate if we don't know where there going to be. Are we going to the show?"
"At least we will have some time to kill," said Grayson, turning to Mack, "Call me if you need me."
Mack slowly nodded as Thomas, Kyland, Joe, Grayson and Atticus walked to the exit, using their Fossil Blasters to escape. Leona turned around as she got up from the bench, "I'm heading to bed. Early shift tomorrow!"
As Leona left, Dino Paradise, Lisa turned around as she got up from the table, "Come on, we'll head home! Besides, if we don't contact Professor Oak…"
"Oh, that's right!" said Mack, getting up quickly, only to fall a little bit. Monferno looked up as Mack looked up at Lisa, "I guess… sleep is important right now. But, I want a Pokémon from the professor."
The next day…
Mack arrived wearing a black t-shirt and red shorts as he walked into the Oreburgh Fitness Center. The smell of the rainstorm illuminated the area as he walked inside. Turning around, he could see Monferno following him. Mack turned around as he looked at Monferno, "Seeing that you are a pretty good fighter, I want to see what you can do."
Monferno looked at Mack confused. Mack grabbed two boards and then placed them on two cinderblocks that he found. He then turned around as he looked at Monferno, stretching his hand, "Go ahead, chop it down."
Monferno shook his head. Mack looked up as he went to speak, "Are you worried you are going to break the board and hit me again?"
Monferno nodded slowly, not saying a word. Mack chuckled as he turned around, "Look, Monferno… one board isn't going to hurt me. Just use your attack and you will be fine."
Monferno looked at Mack. Turning around, Mack watched as Monferno started running around like crazy, annoying other people's Pokémon. Mack took a deep breath, knowing it was somewhat his responsibility.
"Monferno, get back here this instant!"
Mack's voice was so loud that Monferno froze. Monferno turned around as Mack darted his eyes, crossing his arms as he looked at him. Monferno saw the fear in Mack's eyes as he started to run away. Mack was surprised as he watched what happened, "Huh?"
"Great, two angry people over that Monferno," a voice said. Mack turned around to notice someone buff walk in. He had a black sleeveless shirt with white pants. He had a black cloth that was wrapped around his head in a bowtie. He had spiky brown hair as he looked at the gold ranger, "Yesterday, it was enough you embarrassed him with you and that trainer… he looked very calm with you and now you scolded him."
"He needs to know the boundary," said Mack, looking at the trainer. The trainer shrugged, "I think it's time we have a little chat about Monferno."
Mack shrugged as he walked over toward the wood blocks. Sitting down on the floor, the trainer sat down with him as he went to talk, "By the way, the name is Darren. I am one of the referees at Veilstone City Gym, but I come here on my days off. Ain't that right, Machoke?"
Mack looked over, noticing Machoke lifting 200 pounds on his biceps alone. Machoke grinned as he looked at Darren with a smile, "Ma… Machoke!"
"Ah, well my name's Mack. I just work at the museum," said Mack, "I plan on being a Pokémon Watcher."
"Well, that's a really good career path," said Darren, turning to Mack, "But, I think you are off on a rough start with your Monferno."
"He's not really mine," said Mack, looking at Darren, "I found him because the trainer that yelled at me yesterday was in trouble. I thought that trainer had him."
Darren shook his head as he looked at him, "Sadly, that Monferno doesn't belong to him. You see, while you were training yesterday, Monferno managed to find its way here. He saw a place where he could interact with other Pokémon and train."
"Say what?" asked Mack.
"Yeah, obviously after you left, management kicked him out," said Darren, "But, it was very attached to you. He just wanted someone to hang with. Someone that feels he belongs."
Mack looked down at the floor as he looked at Darren, "Now, I feel like a jerk. That means…"
"That Pokémon was wild all along…," Darren stated, "That trainer couldn't have been able to handle Monferno based on how he behaved anyway. There's been a lot of trainers lately that have been disrespectful to Pokémon. Usually, wild Pokémon tend to stay away from human trained, but Monferno may have been able to blend in and when he saw that trainer… he thought he could join him and then he saw you."
Mack managed to get up from the floor as he turned to Darren. Darren grinned as he looked at Mack, stretching his hand. As Mack shook it, he turned to him, "When do you go back to Veilstone?"
"Not for another couple of days," said Darren, raising an eyebrow.
"When I return, I would like to spar with you," said Mack, grinning, "For someone who knows the heart of Pokémon, it would be nice to see a fighter in battle. But right now, I need to find Monferno."
Dino Paradise…
Drake and Roark sat down at a table across from each other. Roark turned around as he looked at his laptop, showing Drake what he saw. The computer had a graph and few statistical things on the screen. Drake was impressed as Roark turned the screen toward him.
"So, it looks like this has been going on for a matter of days," said Roark, looking at the computer, "Kyland?"
Kyland nodded as he looked at the articles, "Yeah, Hypnopuff is what he's called. He has been able to capture humans and separate them from Pokémon. Witnesses have seen him capture people from the Southeast Sinnoh region. He's wanted in five towns."
"Wow…," said Drake, looking at the screen, "And the alarms didn't detect him. Very sneaky."
Lisa turned around as she listened to what she was hearing. She turned around as she looked at Thomas who was clicking his pen and typing a few things. Thomas turned to his left as he saw a beeping noise. He looked up as he saw the battle footage from last night, "I think I got something."
"What?" asked Lisa, looking over his shoulder. Thomas pointed to the screen, "Notice what happens to Hypnopuff when he reacts to a certain energy… he transforms into Gothipuff."
Lisa turned around as she looked at Thomas and then at Drake. Drake turned around as he looked at them, "So, I wonder what the plan is if Hypnopuff uses the trainers."
"I already figured it out," Lisa said, "Thomas, Mack's crystal was taken by Gothipuff correct?'
"As far as I see, yeah," said Thomas, "Why?"
"If Gothipuff was able to drain Mack's energy to take the crystal, then that means our energy crystals are all in danger," said Lisa, "Especially, if Hypnopuff reacts to them."
Thomas turned around as he looked at Drake and then at Lisa with a nod of approval, "That is a great theory. Morphing could cause Hypnopuff to change forms."
"Now, we just got to wait and see what happens," said Lisa, sighing as she looked at her Dino Com.
Ferro Fett's Ship…
Hypnopuff grinned as he was hopping back and forth. As he got to the bridge, he smiled as Turnchou and Cremelia looked at it with happiness. Shockhound rolled his eyes, not being able to look at the cream puffed monster. As for Ferro Fett, he was super duper excited to see what was going on. He turned to Hypnopuff as Maracturne arrived. Maracturne grinned as he looked at Turnchou. Turnchou nodded as Maracturne opened his hand to Shockhound and Cremelia.
"There is also something that you don't know about this puff ball…," said Maracturne, grinning, "I separated the humans from their communities all to try to find the crystals. And guess what?"
Opening his hand, he turned around as he revealed the golden energy crystal. Shockhound stood in response, "How?"
"Simple… old goldie thought he could stop us," said Maracturne, laughing, "Hypnopuff can react to the energy crystals and change form."
"When I change form…," Hypnopuff said, happily, "I drain energy from the source and collect it. I react to the energy crystals… thanks to some help from Maracturne."
"How did you-?" asked Shockhound, but Maracturne waved his finger as he looked at him, "Secrets, sir… Secrets."
Ferro Fett looked at the crystal and then turned to Maracturne, "Is there a way to use that crystal and cause a reaction for the others to appear?"
Maracturne shrugged, "We can give it a shot! I thought about replicating that same device that we used to kill the gold ranger, but instead serve it as a beacon. Once the rangers see it, Hypnopuff was suck their energy down to nothing."
"Good," said Ferro Fett, "Proceed as planned."
Meanwhile…
"Monferno!"
Mack was running down the streets of Oreburgh City, looking for the wild Monferno that was running around. As he was taking a deep breath, he was looking around as he turned to the streets. As he did, he looked over to the alley. He headed straight to the alley, noticing some of the dumpsters. As he did, he turned around as he looked up, hearing the sound of something rattling. Looking up, he heard a familiar cry. Monferno jumped down, throwing a punch. Mack caught Monferno as Monferno started to scream at him. As Mack let Monferno punch him, Mack was pummeled to the wall. After its last punch, Monferno looked up as Mack had a slight grin.
"You… might not belong to a trainer… but I know how hard it is for you to not belong," Mack groaned as he went to get up. Monferno looked at Mack. Mack looked down as he had some tears in his eyes, "Look… I'm sorry for being so rude to you. I was just trying to set boundaries."
Monferno shook his head as he stepped forward, walking toward Mack. Mack was surprised as Monferno hugged him. Mack looked down as he turned to him, "I never had a Pokémon before. It would be awesome if you joined me."
Monferno grinned as he nodded his head. Mack nodded, petting his head. However, he looked to his right, seeing a few trainers walking in the sites. They were walking weirdly as Mack observed. Mack walked over as he saw the trainers walking toward Hypnopuff. Mack turned around as he looked at Monferno, who looked over at him.
"Time to see where the trainers are ending up at," Mack responded.
Stealthily, Mack looked across as he was looking at Hypnopuff, following him. Mack turned around as he looked at Monferno, nodding his head slowly as they quietly walked toward a black and grey wearhouse. To not be discovered, Mack knelt down and crawled, trying to avoid being detected. As he looked up at a window, Mack was very surprised to see what was going on.
Tons of trainers were being held by Turnchou and Maracturne. As the trainers were bowing by Hypnopuff, they turned around as Hypnopuff began to use his hypnosis device. Swinging the pendulum, a golden energy surrounded it. Shaking his head, he turned to Maracturne, "I don't see the crystals."
"Ugh… fine put them next to the previous group. Send the next group!" shouted Maracturne, turning to see the device. The device had Mack's Energy Crystal installed. The only thing that was different from it, compared to what Mack remembered was instead of absorbing energy, it was releasing a wave that was heading toward Hypnopuff to track. Mack nodded slowly as he looked at the scene, "So, that's what they're doing. They are hoping to get the rangers and get the crystals. They are going to have to do better than that!"
"Monferno!"
Mack turned around as he saw a fleet of Mooks, looking at him with heaviness. Mack turned around as he went to do a sidekick on one of them. As he turned around, he used another side kick, knocking another one down. He jumped up and did two front kicks. Mack kicked another one and threw the creature to the ground. Mack went in, knowing that he was discovered. Maracturne turned around, noticing Mack's arrival.
"Hello, cactus breath," said Mack.
"You are not going to destroy my plans!" shouted Maracturne. Immediately, Hypnopuff released a pink pendulum aura from his weapon. Waves of psychic energy surrounded Mack as he landed on the ground, wincing in pain. Turnchou laughed as he watched Mack get tortured by psychic energy, "Look at ol' gold getting attacked by a monster.
Monferno, watching turned around, noticing the Fossil Device. Monferno started dashing toward the device. Immediately, Monferno jumped up as it turned into a ball of fire, flipping across as it turned into a wheel of flames, breaking the device. Hypnopuff yelled as the wave was disrupted. Mack stumbled as he landed on the ground.
"Mack!"
Mack looked up as Leona, Joe, Atticus, Grayson, Kyland, and Lisa showed up, morphed. Mack turned around as he stumbled to get up. Mack stretched his hand as the gold crystal floated from the device, heading toward him. Mack turned to the others as he looked at him, "Monferno, thank you!"
Monferno grinned as he put his hand behind his head. Mack turned around as he noticed a purple aura surrounding Hypnopuff, transforming into Gothipuff. Gothipuff screamed as he took out a black and purple ax, "I will cut you and take your crystals… especially, yours!"
Immediately, the trainers snapped out of it. Looking around, Mack turned to Monferno, "Get them out of here and find them a safe place!"
Monferno nodded as it started hopping toward the exit, getting the trainers out of the warehouse. Mack turned around as he turned to Gothipuff.
"Gothipuff! Maracturne! Turnchou! It's enough that some people don't respect Pokémon. You don't need to divide them! These creatures are filled with life… they don't need you to ruin it for them!" Mack shouted, "Allow me to finish you off, personally… Aerodactyl Charger, Energize!"
Pressing the button, a golden aura surrounded his energy crystal into the fossil charger. He did a little spin, creating a dance as he placed his hand on the morpher. Pulling a lever, the energy slot opened to place the charger inside.
Aerodactyl, Energize!
"Unleash the Power!"
Closing the slot, he pulled the slot with his finger. A golden aura shot out of the morpher as an Aerodactyl emerged. Aerodactyl swooped around as he transformed into his suit.
"Tyrantrum! Dino Charge Red!"
"Armaldo! Dino Charge Black!"
"Carracosta! Dino Charge Blue!"
"Kabutops! Dino Charge Green!"
"Bastiodon! Dino Charge Pink!"
"Aerodactyl! Dino Charge Gold!"
"Omastar! Dino Charge Aqua!"
"Poké Rangers Dino Charge!" they shouted, doing a pose with explosions surrounding them. Mack turned around as he looked at Leona, "Thomas will be here soon… in the meantime, it's about to get wild."
Maracturne grumbled as he started shooting around, "Mooks! Kill them all!"
The Mooks charged forward with their weapons, ready to fight. Leona jumped forward as she stretched out her hand, revealing her Fossil Saber. The Fossil Saber cut across as she destroyed a few of the Mooks. She spun around as she slashed a few more. As a group headed toward her, a red aura surrounded the saber.
"Fossil Slash!"
Cutting across, Leona stretched out as a red line destroyed the Mooks in an instant. Turning around, she grinned as she saw explosions.
Joe withdrew his Fossil Blaster, pulling the trigger. Black pulses of energy struck as Gothipuff stretched out her arms. A pink and purple aura surrounded Joe as his whole suit began to emanate a purple aura. Joe hissed as he pulled the trigger, shooting Grayson and Kyland. Grayson and Kyland were hit as they landed on the ground. Grayson looked up as he noticed Joe, laughing as he continued to shoot. Grayson blocked the attack as he went to grab Joe.
"Joe, snap out of it!" he shouted.
"Gothipuff want crystals!" he shouted, grabbing Grayson by the neck. Atticus, who was surprised at what was going on, jumped up as he went to strike. Atticus went behind Joe as he jumped up, dragging his Fossil Blaster on his right shoulder. A blue aura surrounded it as he grabbed his Carracosta Shield, "Razor Shell!"
A blue and black razor spun across as Gothipuff broke free. Joe released Grayson as he snapped out of it, "What happened to me?"
"Simple… Puffy," pointing to Gothipuff with his saber. Joe grumbled as he placed a pink Fossil Charger in his blaster. Joe turned around as he spun the blaster. Gothipuff went to strike, only for Joe to pull the trigger. A pink blast of energy struck as Gothipuff began to go into a trance.
"He'll be under hypnosis for a little bit. Let's finish the Mooks," said Joe.
"About time, it's getting a little tough!" shouted Kyland, overwhelmed by the Mooks.
As the rangers went to help, Lisa and Mack were heading over toward the pile of Mooks. Immediately, Lisa grabbed a lavender charger, "Kyland, get out of the way!"
"But-," said Kyland.
Mack, jumping up, spread his wings from his suit as he grabbed Kyland. Kyland and the guys landed in a pile as Lisa released an attack from her Fossil Blaster. The Mooks looked at each other as they began to have hearts erupt out of their bodies.
"If ye love me, ye fight for me…fight each other to the death!" Lisa shouted.
"MOOK!"
The Mooks immediately started destroying each other until there was no one left. Lisa grinned as she turned to the others. Kyland looked at her in response, watching the pile of Mook in the warehouse, "You got to be kidding me."
"All's fair in love and war," said Mack, turning to Gothipuff, "He's still in a trance!"
"I don't know what's going on… crystals!"
He released psychic energy beams, destroying pieces inside the warehouse. Turnchou and Maracturne looked at each other, seeing that Gothipuff was stuck in a hypnosis trance, fighting things he couldn't see. Mack chuckled as he looked at Joe, "Joe, thank you… I'll take it from here! This is for all the trainers you broke bonds with!"
Mack placed two golden energy chargers in his saber. Pressing them, a golden aura surrounded his weapon.
Landing on the ground, Mack swung his saber across as a golden aura surrounded it.
"Golden Amber Saber, Thunder Fang Slash!"
Swinging his saber, a yellow bolt of energy appeared with yellow and electric teeth emerged. Gothipuff was consumed by the energy as he was hit. Explosions surrounded the area as Mack turned around. Placing the Golden Amber Saber behind his back, Mack turned around as he looked at the flames.
"You're done!" he said.
Maracturne walked over as the seven rangers turned around. Leona laughed as she looked at him, "Round 2… this time we can take you out!"
"Thanks… but I have other plans," said Maracturne, reaching for his tablet. Pressing the red Magna Beam app on his tablet, a green beam from Ferro Fett's ship struck down from his ship, piercing the warehouse. Gothipuff grew as the roof exploded, screaming in pain as he looked down. Leona went to use her Fossil Charger, only for Mack to step forward.
"I'll handle it! Aerodactyl, I choose you!"
Throwing the golden Fossil Charger, a golden aura surrounded it as the Aerodactyl Zord flew across. The Aerodactyl Zord flapped its wings, releasing a golden beam, piercing Skeletar in the stomach. Immediately, Mack jumped up as he landed in the cockpit. The cockpit was bright gold on top with black and golden lights behind him. He placed his saber in the cockpit as he pressed a few buttons.
"Aerodynamic Change! Aero Amber Megazord!"
The Aerodactyl screamed as it swooped down. A golden aura surrounded the zord as it landed on the ground. The legs went from being bent to straight as the body was lifted. The wings folded into either side of its body as the body was now standing as a human body. The hands detached from the wings as golden arms grew out. The hands connected to the body as the head moved down to the chest. A human head appeared with a silver and black helmet that had an Amber Fossil on top. The head had green eyes.
"Aero Amber Megazord, Battle Ready!"
Gothipuff screamed as he released black and pink energy beams. The Aero Amber Megazord flew across as it sliced the creature down. Gothipuff turned around as he quickly grabbed the leg of the Aero Amber Megazord. Releasing a psychic beam, the back of the Aero Amber Megazord was hit. Turning around, Gothipuff released black and red beams of energy, shooting the creature. The Aero Amber Megazord released a golden beam of energy. Gothipuff screamed as a purple aura of energy surrounded it, reflecting the energy. Explosions surrounded the Aero Amber Megazord as Mack hung on.
"Now you're dead!"
As Gothipuff went to strike, a blue aura surrounded her. Freezing, she turned around as a mechanical Rampardos jumped up in the air, swinging its tail made of iron. Rampardos smacked into Gothipuff as he landed on the ground. Gothipuff screamed as he looked at Rampardos, "You little…"
Leona turned around as Thomas arrived, morphed. Thomas turned around as he looked at them, "Sorry, I'm late. I was going to pinpoint his weakness, but it looks like you took care of it."
"Correction, Mack did," said Leona, looking at the Aero Amber Megazord. Thomas stepped forward, "Hey, Mack… let's combine!"
Mack turned around as he looked into the cockpit. Sighing, he pressed a button, getting the Aero Amber Megazord online, "Let's do it then. Dual Fossil Fusion!"
The Aero Amber Megazord released a golden energy beam, surrounding the Rampardos. A grey energy beam erupted, surrounding the Megazord. Instantly, the Rampardos flew across. Shrinking its arms and legs, the tail pointed downward as it floated toward the Aero Amber Megazord, combining it as the right arm. Thomas jumped into the cockpit.
"Amber Rampage Megazord!"
Gothipuff tried to use more hypnotic powers, only for the Rampardos arm to strike him. Gothipuff screamed as he went to strike again, only for the Rampardos arm to swing around, striking the creature. As Gothipuff landed on the ground, the Aero Puncher Megazord began to glow in a gold and grey aura.
"Amber Rampage Megazord, Iron Tackle!"
The wings spread out as the Aero Puncher Megazord flew across at maximum speed. Before Gothipuff could recover, a silver aura surrounded the Rampardos arm as its body tackled into the creature. Gothipuff screamed as he flew into the sky, exploding into the air. The Aero Puncher Megazord landed on the ground with the sun setting behind it.
Later that day…
Monferno looked up at the mountains as he turned around. Drooping its head, it was heading back to Oreburgh City. As he heard something, he lifted his head up, noticing Mack and the others. Mack waved his hands as Monferno started laughing, running toward him. Mack jumped up as he lifted him.
"I'm so glad you're here!" said Mack.
"Monferno!" he said, happily. As Mack put him down, Mack went for his Poké Ball and activated it, "And guess what? We have a friend now. I plan on making him an ultimate Pokémon to be with us."
Monferno looked up as Mack activated the Poké Ball. As the ball released, a Squirtle popped out of the Poké Ball. The turtle Pokémon turned around with a smile.
"Squirt…Squirtle!"
"Mon… Monferno!"
As the two started shaking hands, Mack grinned as he was looking at the two of them. Laughing, Lisa turned around as she looked at the other rangers. Thomas turned around as Lisa spoke, "Professor Oak said he would choose Squirtle. He and Mack really get along."
"He got a Squirtle," said Thomas, turning to see it, "Well, I'm glad he got two new friends. A Monferno that Mack can tame and a new Pokémon."
"Yeah," said Joe, grinning as he crossed his arms. He turned around as he noticed Atticus was up close to him, petting him on the back, "What?"
"Both you and Grayson get to cover my next two shifts," said Atticus, grinning.
Realizing what Atticus meant, Joe and Grayson turned to each other as they went to speak to him. Atticus laughed as he looked at them. Joe and Grayson argued with each other and then argued with Atticus. As Atticus noticed it was getting out of hand, Monferno and Squirtle nodded as they opened their mouths, releasing an Ember and a Bubble attack. All three rangers were lit on fire and drenched in water. Leona and the others laughed as they watched the three argue. Mack turned around as he knelt to both, "We're going to be a great team."
Next Chapter…
Shockhound explains about the Lunar Festival. A monster who makes wishes come true arrives, but at a cost, their wishes could make them lose their lives, including the rangers. However, for Kyland, he had to ask a familiar face to help him stop the wishes from coming true.
Poké Rangers Dino Charge Chapter 21: When You Wish Upon a Star
A/N: So yeah, Mackenzie has a Monferno that helped him save the day! I was wondering when I was going to give him Pokémon seeing he was from a different time. Also, Mack was supposed to have a Blastoise but because he was in the Dinosaur Kingdom dimension, he technically didn't have any so he is starting from scratch! More Pokémon will come to him.
You also asked for it... and I finally did it... 20 chapters later. The theme song is up... the next thing I need to do is make/recreate the cover.
Next week, prepare for an interesting story. I have a familiar face returning to help them! This is going to be an epic chapter! And to think it's almost the end of October! (Granted this was written in late July…)
