Enji Todoroki stared at himself in the mirror, observing the injuries he had now. While his eye was saved, the large scar across the left side of his face made his heart skip a beat, reminding him of the injury that had plagued his son's face. After everything that had happened, he had tried to call Shoto to talk to him, but never once did the phone pick up yet. While he wanted to shout in frustration, he couldn't bring himself to do it, his guilt still too strong to do anything.
Hissing at himself, he ripped off the final bandages on his head, tossing them to the trash and turning the water on. He splashed the water on his face and dried it off, walking out of the bathroom and back to his hospital room, ready to finally get out of this place. Changed into his new formal suit brought by some of his sidekicks, he turned to the knocking on the door, watching as it opened to his top sidekick coming in, the woman out of costume and in pants with a gray jacket.
"Hey, boss," Burnin said with a nod. While she was still getting used to the scar he sported now, she certainly made sure not to make a big deal out of it. "So, you got the all clear now?"
Enji gave a small nod and adjusted the tie on his neck. "I'll be fine. What about you?"
Shrugging, Burnin leaned against the doorway and scratched her cheek. "I'm good," she frowned and looked at her boss. "You sure you gotta do this now? Maybe it would be best to wait a bit."
"No… I need to do this." he grunted, taking a breath and walking towards her. "It's been four days since the raid, and I need to say something."
Sighing, Burnin nodded and stepped back. "Alright then. I'll have them bring the car around."
As the pair began walking down the hall towards the exit, Enji couldn't help but stop at the double doors leading down to the room that had tormented his mind over these days. Clenching his fists, he took a breath and walked towards it. "Just… give me a minute," he muttered.
Burnin frowned and turned away, not having the nerve to go in there anymore after the last few days. "I'll see you downstairs." As she left him alone, Enji made his way through the hall to the emergency wing of the hospital, forcing himself down the hall until he came to the final room at the end. Pushing through the door, he held his breath as he came upon the horrible sight once more.
Katara laid in her hospital bed, the oxygen mask still strapped to her face as she lay unconscious. In his wheelchair, Tensei was beside the bed, the young man looking restless as he had just come back here again. Sitting against the wall was Madoka, the woman looking up from her knitting and glaring at the flame hero coming in.
"What do you want again?" Madoka growled out.
"I have a press conference to attend…" Enji said, seeing Tensei continuing to stare at Katara, "I just wanted to check on her once more before."
"Oh, you need something to use for your presser?" Madoka sneered. "You want a picture of her to get sympathy from everyone?" After a moment her eyebrow raised before she glared again. "If you are, don't even think about it."
Enji exhaled at the woman's remarks, his head lowering a bit. "I am sorry. I truly am for what happened…"
"I already heard that from you before, and like I told you, what will that help with? Katara is still hurt."
"I know… And I understand you're upset and-
"Do you?!" Madoka snapped, dropping the knitting supplies as she stood up. "Katara nearly died working under you, and she is the one laying here! How could you have let her out of your sight and…" She gritted her teeth as her eyes began watering, "How could you have let these kids do something so dangerous?!"
"Mother…" Tensei quietly said, turning around to stare at the distraught woman. "Please stop…"
Madoka crossed her arms and sniffled, frowning as she looked away. "I just… I don't know if I can deal with this any longer! She's been hurt so many times, and it's only getting worse."
Enji couldn't say anything to the frustrated Iida mother, seeing that Katara really had become a part of their life now. He walked forward beside the man in the wheelchair, looking down to the teen in the bed. His chest tightened when he looked down to the bandages around her chest, the fresh wrappings hiding the horrible injury below. He glanced over to Tensei, expecting the former hero to blame him as well like his mother, but instead received a deep exhale.
"We've never seen eye to eye fully over the years, but I know you would never have wanted this to happen," Tensei quietly said, rubbing his hand through his hair. "And it's not like I don't know the risks of hero work."
"And I have always known you to be far too positive in bad situations," Enji said, turning to face the man beside him. "Has… the doctor said anything?"
Taking a breath, Tensei reached up and grabbed Katara's still hand. "They said her blood levels have nearly reached normal, but the stress on her organs is keeping her body's recovery slow still."
Enji grimaced at the news, where even someone from the raid like Shishido was down to only recovering his broken jaw. The fact she was still in her coma showed how close to death she really was, unable to use. Clenching his fists, he just wished he could've caught the one responsible for injuring her, only to hear the news her body had been found deeper in the cave. His mind now was set on the league of villains member Dabi, having remembered hearing what everyone else said about what they heard; how this entire setup was made to go after Katara. A single kid at the center of all of this mess.
"I'll make sure those villains will pay for what they tried to do. I'll make sure these league of villain scum are brought down. I promise that." He looked over to Tensei and nodded. "I'll bring justice for her."
Tensei remained silent as he continued staring at Katara, taking a breath and clenching his fists. "You just do what you need to do… and make sure she knows how you feel when she wakes."
An hour later, the car driving Enji and Burnin stopped as it reached city hall in Tokyo, the area already lined with reporters buzzing and snapping pictures. With what happened across Japan with the hunters raid and the Shie Hassaikai compound, there was a call for the heroes on both teams to discuss the outcomes of their missions. Adjusting the tie around his neck, Enji took a breath and glanced over to Burnin, his sidekick giving a nod of support as he stepped out of the car. While many reporters attempted to swarm him for pictures and questions, the police kept them back as he made his way down the path to the meeting hall, struggling to ignore the many yells from behind.
Once through the doors, Enji sighed as most of the yells were drowned out. In the waiting room, he looked up to see several top heroes, one of them being Gang Orca. The tall man out of his costume appeared much less intimidating, his now missing whale shaped cape making his size more narrow. Seeing the flame hero there caught his attention, his eyes widening at the scar before nodding. "It's good to see you up, Endeavor." he said, walking over and shaking his hand. "It seems you have successfully kept your sight."
Grunting, Enji nodded as well. "You feeling better as well?"
"I'm fine," Orca noticed the subtle look on Endeavor's face, seeing the turmoil he was attempting to hide. "Is your… student still in recovery?" seeing the small nod, Orca sighed out and scratched his head. "She's a strong one. She'll make it out alright."
Unable to think of something to say, Enji turned to the others in the room, seeing a woman with short blonde hair and golden eyes in a formal red dress that he recognized immediately. The number nine ranked hero, the dragon hero Ryukyu.
"Endeavor…" she said with concern, approaching him as her mouth fell open seeing his large scar. "I heard a lot about what happened. I apologize I couldn't come to help."
"I hear you were quite busy yourself," Endeavor said, "Your team was successful as well I heard."
Ryukyu frowned and looked away. "We still took casualties, including All Might's former sidekick, Nighteye."
Enji kept silent. He remembered dealing with Nighteye years ago, the seemingly emotionless man always pissing him off back then. But to hear of his death was still shocking, the loss of any hero too much. "I'm sorry."
Ryukyu nodded, turning to see the other blonde man to the side. "We all feel guilty for what happened. Toyomitsu feels the same; We were unable to stop the worst of it ourselves."
Enji looked at the other man, not recognizing him before his eyes widened in surprise. "That's… Fat Gum?" he said in shock, the normally tall and round hero now shorter and not as large as usual. Then he realized he must've burned all his fat in battle. Before he could say anything, the door behind opened up, signaling the four heroes it was time. Taking their que, they all made their way through to the large hall, where they were met with a barrage of camera flashes and yells as they came into view.
Many people gasped in surprise at the scar across Endeavor's face, not knowing he had such a large blemish after the battle several days before. But their shock was replaced with eagerness as they began shouting their questions while the four heroes sat down in the seats on the panel. Suddenly, another person walked towards the center, a middle aged woman with slicked back ash blonde hair. Everyone went silent as the president of the Hero Public Safety Commision approached the center Mic.
"Thank you all for coming here today." The madam President announced, "As per the request of everyone, I have organized this today so you can understand what exactly happened recently. With the different events that have happened, I feel it is necessary to give everyone the chance to explain what they went through."
As the commission president continued to explain to the crowd, Enji Todoroki felt his mind space out momentarily, thinking back to the morning of the raid, and how he had planned for everything to go afterward. He wanted to-
"Endeavor?"
"Huh?" Enji snapped out of his thoughts as his name was mentioned, looking up to the commission president. "S-sorry… Continue."
"I was explaining to everyone about what you, Gang Orca and Shishido brought to my attention last week." the president said, looking back to the crowd. "The hunters have been a name that has tormented the hero commission for many years, never once able to have the chance to capture them and bring them down. Until Endeavor and the others confirmed what they were doing, I never assumed this group of killers would ever be brought to justice."
Swallowing, Enji gave a nod and leaned into the mic before him. "Yes. And… I must apologize to all those families out there who lost loved ones that day. I'm sorry."
While many in the crowd began murmuring to themselves, the president quickly took the mic and continued. "I also wish to explain the raid that occurred on the Yakuza members, the Shie Hassaikai. Both Ryukyu and Fat Gum were part of the team that helped capture the organization."
"Why did both of you groups of heroes do this without working together?! Why spread yourselves out?!" One of the reporters shouted out before the Q & A segment, causing a commotion in the crowd before the president raised her hand.
"The team led by Nighteye had been planning a raid for weeks on the compound, while the hunters was something that happened exceptionally fast. There was only several days from the encounter to the raid, and with several top ten ranked heroes involved, it was deemed necessary to act when they had the chance."
Leaning forward to her mic, Ryukyu took a breath as she began to speak. "Our intel showed that the leader of the Shie Hassaikai, Overhaul, was keeping a child hostage, torturing her and using her body as research for their experiments. Our task was to get in there and rescue that child and bring those villains to justice. However, I do wish we could've done more to keep everyone involved safe. I wasn't there in time to help Nighteye before he was mortally wounded."
"Same for me," Fat gum raised his hand as he spoke. "While I had successfully taken down a pair of villains working for the leader, I was only able to with the help of Red Riot, one of my interns working under me" He couldn't help but chuckle under his breath remembering the act. "I have to say, these kids are going to be amazing heroes very soon."
"Speaking of that, do you approve of these actions?" another reporter shouted as he stood up. "There have been reports that several of the students working on your raid were put in the hospital. You feel responsible for letting teenagers get in the middle of the fight with dangerous criminals?"
"We were doing our duties as heroes to keep an innocent child safe. And we did our best to try and keep the kids out of the main line of fire," Ryukyu answered, clenching her fists as she remembered seeing what happened. "In fact… If it weren't for those students being there, the casualties would've been far worse. I will go on record now and say Izuku Midoriya is the one you should be thanking; he is the one who successfully brought Overhaul down and saved everyone there."
While many in the crowd chirped at one another to the statement, the one reporter only grunted before raising his mic to himself, "So that is a very fortunate scenario… but what about you?" he said as he turned towards Endeavor. "We learned the three students involved with you were all quite injured, including one who was under you specifically is considered in critical condition."
Enji glared as he clenched his fists, taking a breath before speaking. "It's true… Katara was… unfortunately hurt in the battle that occurred. I was unable to be there to keep her safe."
"Because you were in a completely different city," another smug reporter spoke up, "While it is truly amazing the footage we witnessed of you battling that creature in Sendai, but the students involved in your raid were at Mount Fuji. You chose to leave your students alone to face these villains?"
"If you're going to make accusations, you should know the facts fully," Gang Orca answered, wanting to take the questions to aid Endeavor. "I was part of the team with Endeavor, and we were planning to take out the top members of the hunters and kept the students with Shishido and other heroes to go after the low ranking members. Unfortunately… It seems we miscalculated the intellect of the hunters. The information we received was false, forcing Endeavor and myself to battle with a powerful nomu, far more powerful than the ones that attacked Hosu several months prior. As soon as he was able to overpower and defeat the beast, we rushed back to the others as quickly as possible."
"And many officers lost their lives that day!" a brown haired reporter shouted from the side, "While Nighteye was unfortunately lost, he was the only casualty that team suffered, while your team had so many more!"
Struggling to keep his flames from bursting out in anger, Enji continued taking deep breaths through his nose. "The loss of a single life is always the worst thing that can happen. If I could guarantee a life will never be lost, I would make that promise every day. And… I take full responsibility for what happened in the battle. No matter how much I say it, I cannot express how horrible it was to lose so many lives."
"I understand your grief, but it begs the question that both of your teams encountered the league of villains, allowing students to fight them once more after they've been attacked by them multiple times." A short blonde haired woman stated, "Why did you find it logical to involve students in these battles with these villains, especially when your intern has been involved in so many of these altercations?"
"We had no evidence showing the league was in contact with the hunters, and there was no confirmation that they were working with the Shie Hassaikai as well," the president sternly answered, "And if we had, we would've-
"We never intended for any of the students to be in serious danger, hence why Shishido was leading them with the other heroes at their location," Enji answered, his tone becoming slightly more stern as his anger began growing. "If we had known the leader was going to be there, we would've never had let them enter there in the first place."
"And now we have multiple kids with horrific injuries. If you really concerned for their safety, then none of you would have put them in a situation like that in the first place to-
The doors behind the crowd suddenly burst open, causing everyone to jump up in surprise. Enji and the others stood up in reaction, but theirs and everyone's eyes widened as they saw the tall ears standing above the white hair of the woman. As the new figure lowered her foot, the president sat surprised, not expecting her of any of the heroes to be one to show up to this conference. "I am surprised to see you joining us."
Grunting, Mirko slipped her hands in the white hoodie she was wearing, ignoring the cameras flashing at her as she walked towards the panel. "I had to get over here the moment these stupid questions were getting asked. I just want to say my shit and be gone."
Making her way through the crowd, the rabbit hero walked up and dropped into one of the open chairs beside Gang Orca. "So, you people have questions for us?" she hissed out, leaving many of the press surprised before the blonde reporter from earlier glaring and raising her mic up.
"Mirko, you were part of the raid on these… hunters. You're one who doesn't even usually work with other heroes, and yet you had a student under you involved in this battle."
"Yeah… I did." Mirko bluntly said. "Anything else you want to know?"
The reporter raised her eyebrow at the statement. "You don't feel it irresponsible that you heroes put students in harms way and? Any of you?"
"That is a ridiculous statement," Ryukyu retorted, "We do everything we can to guard these children from the worst risks."
"Then why allow them on these missions then? You could've-
The light laugh from Mirko made both the press and the heroes on the stand stare in confusion at the rabbit hero, the snickering woman reaching up and scratching her head. "God… this is why I always hated press conferences."
"You don't have anything to say about the choices that you all made in putting students at risk?"
"Oh I have plenty to say…" Mirko muttered, cocking her head to the side and staring at the reporter. "Tell me, why do you act like you care now?"
The reporter's mouth fell open at the comment "I'm sorry?"
"Yeah, what makes it such a crisis that kids are put into dangerous situations now than they ever were before? Of course we didn't want these kids to be put in the main line of fire, but you all make it seem like this is something so new." Mirko shook her head as she rocked herself in the chair, clicking her tongue. "The only reason you are making such a big deal out of this is because you all made them such big celebrities in the first place."
Multiple reporters began scoffing and chattering at her comment, with a black haired man to glare and stand up. "Are you trying to put the blame on us now?"
"Well you were the ones who had to show these kids faces to the world," Mirko sneered. "You broadcasted the UA sports festival like the world cup, giving every villain in the world a sneak peak of who they could face one day. You just loved watching these kids beat the living shit out of each other for entertainment, cheering on whenever a tough bastard went in and just thrashed around everyone else. You did that just to show off to all the heroes out there to give them more opportunities to get out and do it in the real world… but now you lose your minds when they actually go and face villains. You know, exactly like what they are being trained to do."
A few reporters went silent at the rabbit hero's words, however the blonde reporter from before swallowed and furrowed her brow. "You can't honestly try and make that comparison. A controlled school event is nothing like an actual battle."
Mirko gave a small shrug. "You're right… it's nothing like the real thing. And that's why you've all been bitching about heroes recently, yeah?" The sudden silence over the reporters made Mirko huff out, " You've been complaining some of these heroes aren't up to standard, which is why they made the recent license exam much harder, am I wrong? That's why you had this guy face the kids trying to pass." she finished as she pointed to Gang Orca, the whale hero surprised before nodding.
"Yes… They made sure the students that were going to pass were far above the usual standards," Orca added, "And I personally tested the student Katara; She was far beyond even many pro heroes already."
"And now she is hurt!" a reporter shouted, "A student was hurt and-
"And everyone is alive because of her…" Mirko growled, struggling to keep her foot from tapping in annoyance. "I was there and saw what she was able to do. That girl is the only reason everyone else in that cave is alive…" She exhaled sharply before looking back up. "... Including me."
Enji stared in disbelief as Mirko spoke, partially in fact to hearing the normally stubborn hero say things about someone else. Another part of him in gratitude, since he wouldn't have been able to keep his cool any longer with these reporters.
Mirko grabbed her mic and brought it closer to her, staring daggers at all the press watching her. "All you assholes couldn't shut up any time a student came up as the "next big thing" or whatever the hell you call them. These kids who were involved with us would beat the shit out of most of the heroes you have no problem sending into no win situations, but because you want to get your next story out, who criticize when something bad happens. No shit we didn't want any of these kids hurt, but guess what… We heroes risk our necks out there everyday while you get to sit and nit pick at what is not acceptable. These kids here are braver and stronger than many top heroes you had no problem letting get their asses beat, and you can bet every bit of money you got they know exactly the risk they are getting into. So I'll end this here; if it's too much for any of these kids to handle, get your asses out of school and find a different career. But if any of you are as brave as these crazy kids… you'll all be damn good heroes."
Sitting on the back of a train passing through the countryside, a hooded figure sat alone as he avoided the gazes of the other few passengers, the coat covering his snow white hair. Staring at the phone in his hand, Touya couldn't help but snicker as the press conference continued. Despite the crowd going silent to the rabbit hero's words, he could see the look on his fathers face that he was still battling the guilt inside.
"He should be thanking that rabbit bitch…" he whispered in amusement, "If she didn't come in, he would've lost his shit with more questions thrown at him."
Even as the questions became softer, Touya could sense the underlying tension in the air, knowing the once driven flame hero had lost the spark inside of himself after Kamino. And now, putting him at the front of a controversial mission was the topping of the cake. While he was certainly disappointed Katara had once again avoided his grasp, but something like this was just as good.
His thoughts were broken as his phone rang, the blocked number making him grunt as he answered. "Yeah?" he said.
"It looks like you've been busy, Dabi…" Tomura's cold voice whispered through the earpiece. "I was beginning to think you just ran off and crawled into a hole."
"Would that make you happy if I did?" Touya sneered, "I told you I was busy with my own task."
"I know, and you got Muscular arrested in your little act," Tomura growled, before letting out a small laugh. "But it seems that you had some interesting friends helping you as well. Looks like Endeavor's reputation is being tested now."
Touya clicked his tongue as he thought of everything that had happened, glancing up to the white hair on his head. He knew it was pointless to dye his hair black once more, since Katara knew the truth of who he was, he was only waiting for the news to make its way to his father, something he couldn't help but feel a sense of pleasure; the faces that his family would make learning of him brought a sickening grin to his own face, leaning back into his chair and getting comfortable. "Everything is changing for us now. You wanted the world to fear the league of villains? Now they know for sure Japan's new number one hero is nothing like the powerhouse All Might was."
As the train sped across the green fields, Touya laughed and kicked his feet up. "When I get back, there is so much to discuss."
Five days later
Beep. Beep. Beep.
That was the first thing Katara noticed, the light sound seeming to echo in the darkness. Little by little the sound seemed to grow stronger, causing her mind to stir more and more. As it did, she suddenly sensed the weight of her body now, feeling like there was a pile of bricks keeping her pinned down. Her breathing felt off as well, coughing out as something shifted on her face.
Little by little, she shifted her eyes open, the faint light slowly coming into focus. She groaned as her vision soon stabilized, taking in the ceiling before coughing again, noticing the item over her mouth. "Wha…?" She mulled out, her weak hand coming up and pulling the mask off, taking in a deep breath of fresh air. She slowly looked around, taking in the strange room she was in. "Where am… where am I?"
Her throbbing head forced her back down, wincing as she clutched her hair. Her body felt so stiff and sore, and her mind was a blur. She couldn't even focus at the moment and understand what was going on.
"K-katara?"
The sudden voice from the side made Katara's eyes widen, turning to see a familiar face entering the room. "T-Tensei?"
Tensei breath was caught in his throat as he saw Katara awake, unable to keep himself from smiling as he moved as fast as he could towards her. "Katara!" he shouted as he pushed himself beside the bed, his shaking hands grabbing hers. "Holy shit… you're awake!"
Katara breathed slowly as she stared at him for a moment, her mind still trying to piece together what was going on. Everything felt like a blur to her unable to remember fully what happened. "I… What's going on?" She muttered, wincing as she leaned up to the pain in her chest. She glanced down to the thick bandages over her body in confusion… before an image flashed through her mind.
A spider leg.
"I…" her breathing picked up as images began flooding into her mind, remembering the mountain, the blood, and the tall arachnid woman. The sudden rush of images made her mind ache, wincing as she grabbed her head causing Tensei to panic.
"Easy easy…" he said, struggling himself to keep his emotions in check. "You… were hurt really bad…"
Slowly opening her eyes, Katara's mind began replaying the situation in the cave, remembering the webs flying at her, and the others with her causing her mouth to fall open. "Where… where's everyone else? Kendo? Bakugo? Burnin? Are they…?"
"They are fine, they… they all left the hospital last week."
Katara's eyes burst open from what he said, sitting up and wincing at the soreness in her chest. She stared down at her chest, remembering the last thing she could picture, her breathing picking up in shock and confusion. How long had she been out for? She turned back to him to ask, but was instead met by his arms pulling her close, embracing her in a powerful hug. Katara sat in surprise as she felt his body trembling slightly, his breathing shaking as his arms held tight.
"You nearly gave me a heart attack," He forcefully chuckled, unable to hide the shaking in his breathing. "Please don't ever do that again."
Feeling her heart tighten at his words, Katara couldn't help but return his embrace, squeezing at his shirt and holding him close as well. Her mind still was in a mix of pain and confusion, the pieces slowly coming back to what happened. At this moment however, she just wanted to keep this warm feeling she felt now. Her heavy arms reached up and held him back, pulling herself closer and laying her chin on his shoulder. She felt his deep breathing, sensing just how much he was holding all the pain inside.
He pulled away from her, taking a few breaths as he adjusted his chair back. He hated leaning from his wheelchair and onto the bed, locking it in place and beginning to push up with his arms. "Wait, what are you..?!" Katara shouted in confusion before she saw something that nearly made her heart stop.
His leg stepping out from the wheelchair and onto the ground.
The waterbender's mouth hung open in utter shock, watching as he shakingly stood up from his seat, his arms balancing on the handles before he pushed himself forward, taking two small steps before catching himself on the bedside. She didn't even breathe as he shifted his body around, settling himself on the bed as he sat next to her. The simple action he performed made her own pain disappear, her lips quivering as her eyes slowly watered up.
"Tensei… you…" she muttered out, sniffling as her eyes drifted to his legs hanging off the side of the bed. "When did you….?"
Tensei reached over and gripped her shoulder, smiling down at her. "You were the one who was there for me and gave me this gift. I had to be here for you too."
Despite the pain in her chest, Katara pushed herself up and threw her body onto his chest. Tears of happiness fell down her face as she hugged him, the joy of seeing him moving his legs was something she couldn't even comprehend. She shook as her breathing was still weak, but she didn't care, holding onto him and laughing as he held her back. "I… I can't believe this."
The sudden crack beside them broke them apart, looking back in shock to see Madoka and Toki standing there, the mother having dropped a flower vase in shock at the sight. "Katara… You're awake…" Madoka mouth shook as her eyes watered. "You…!"
Katara couldn't even speak as the Iida mother rushed over and threw her arms around her, crying out in relief seeing the teen awake. "Oh my god, I'm so relieved!" Madoka cried out, holding onto the teen and not wanting to let go. "You scared us all so much!"
Sniffling herself, Katara hugged her back and laid her head against her shoulder, looking over to see Toki standing there smiling beside them. She held her arm out and accepted his hug as well, enjoying the warm and comfort they offered. "I'm… I'm sorry for scaring you."
"Don't apologize." Toki said, as he patted her back. "It's a blessing that you're alright."
The room stayed silent for several minutes other than the occasional sniffle, the Iida parents giving her air as they backed up. Wiping her eyes, Madoka took a deep breath to calm herself. "It's been so stressful these days. I can't tell you how many times Tenya has been calling me asking if there's been any changes."
"I bet you'll have quite the homecoming when you get back to school. I bet that boyfriend of yours is dying to see you." Tensei teased.
"What?" Katara asked in surprise, "What do you…"
"He had come here with Tenya when you first arrived at the hospital. The young Todoroki," Tensei rubbed his head and sighed. "I can't even tell you how much those two were worrying about you."
Katara clenched her jaw as she rubbed her head, remembering just how terrified the pair of them were when she was injured during the forest. She couldn't even imagine how freaked out they probably were now. Not only them, but Kendo, Bakugo, and everyone else. She had to see them soon so she could show them she was alright. She then thought back to Shoto, her heart aching and wanting to show him she was okay.
"You… You are the perfect pawn to be played, the one thing that gives any comfort and Joy to Shoto has before it's ripped away from him."
Katara froze to the cold voice in her head, her eyes widening at the words she heard inside. "What…?"
"Are you going to say you've seen anything different, huh? Or are you just too infatuated with Shoto to see anything?"
Katara began sweating as more memories came to her, and a figure enshrouded in blue flames and white hair grinning at her.
"What's wrong? It looks like you've seen a ghost?"
A single name popped into Katara's head as her breath skipped, now knowing something that would change hers and everyone's lives around her forever.
"Touya…"
