Chapter 34 The New Recruit (Attack of the Zombies)
A.N. – So, this was gonna be a combo chapter but during writing it turned out to be a lot longer. So, this episode will show the new recruit. Just as a side note, the new recruit won't be permanently introduced yet. That will happen next season.
Short Summary – When Xana's latest attack allows him to control others without possessing them, Kadic becomes a living dead house of horrors. But in order for the others to leave, A will have to make a choice that will change someone's fate forever.
Disclaimer – I do not own Code Lyoko or the story idea. I am just a fan of the show, and the idea was submitted by James Marshall.
Xana and A were discussing how they could get Aelita to Lyoko without the warriors. "Let's go over the facts. Your warrior friends are the only thing that stands between me and victory."
"I would gladly get rid of them for you, but you need to be ready to act. On top of that, we need all of them there so that way there is no chance of them coming back to try to save her" A adds.
"There is only a few select mission we can get all of them."
"You have the key to get them here" A reminds him of Aelita's fragment.
"And Aelita has the keys to my freedom. But the risk is too high. If we are to fail, my end is guaranteed."
"And so is the future."
"That won't happen. I got an idea. Time for a night of terror to fall upon them."
A decided to wait until Jeremy needed her.
Aelita's Point of View
The group was in the lunchroom for dinner, except for Yumi who was at her own house. Odd was overeating like always. "So, you're not gonna finish your chocolate pudding?" Odd asks Aelita.
"Isn't that your fourth one?" Aelita answers in surprise.
"Odd is like a cow. He ahs more than on stomach" Ulrich answers.
"The better to pig out with my dear" Odd replies as a scream is heard from the outside. Milly suddenly comes in, dressed in only her robe.
"Help me! Tamiya cam after me! She looked so strange and-and her eyes were completely white. And they were horrible! She looked like Dr. Shrank!" Milly tells them, obviously filled with fear.
"Who's Dr. Shrank?" Jeremy asks, as he never watches anything but lines of code on a computer monitor.
"The psycho TV brain surgeon in hospital of Horrors" Odd explains.
"Smells like Xana, doesn't it?" Aelita says.
"I'm launching the superscan" Jeremy says, opening his laptop. Soon after, a tower is shown activated. "Activated tower. I'll let A know."
"I'll call Yumi" Ulrich adds.
A's Point of View
A was waiting for Xana's horror night to commence, and she got a communication from Jeremy that confirmed it has begun. "A, there's an activated tower in the desert sector" Jeremy tells her.
"Okay, I'll head for a way tower" A responds as she prepares too exit. It was a hike from the mountain to desert. She just hoped she could get there quickly.
Aelita's Point of View
"A's gonna try to get to the desert sector" Jeremy reports.
Milly was still crying hysterically, still filled with terror. Rosa tries to comfort her and tells Sissi to get her father for assistance. If there was an intruder or something dangerous on campus, Delmas had to know. Ulrich tells her that Jeremy, Aelita, Odd and him are going with her. They come out and see Jim walking by.
"Hey Jim! There's a problem with Milly Solovieff. Jim?" Sissi calls out.
Jim turns around to be shown described like how Milly described Tamiya. Sissi runs off in fear and Ulrich follows her.
"Over there!" Aelita points as more of the zombified students show up and close in.
"About face everybody!" Odd says as they all retreat into the lunchroom.
They were now surrounded with no means of escape.
With Xana blocking them, there was no way they could get through. William was on the phone with the police as the others were planning to escape. "I hope Ulrich slipped away" Aelita says.
"He's probably on his way to the factory. And we gotta join him ASAP" Odd replies as he tries to open the back door but is stopped by William.
"Hey, where do you think you're going?" William asks.
"Uh outside?" Jeremy replies.
"No way, it's too dangerous."
"That's our problem, William" Odd tells him.
"Sorry. I'm the oldest one here, so I'm responsible for the group, and I'm telling you, you're staying here and waiting for help. I don't want the zombies to get you. And what's more, if they attack the cafeteria again, we'll need as many of us here as possible. Anyone who tries to get out will have to get past me first. Understand?" (Great survival skills in a zombie apocalypse situation, but this doesn't apply here.)
"Oh great. William thinks he's Bruce Willis" Odd comments.
"There's only one of us that can overpower William 's control, A" Aelita says.
"I'm on it" Jeremy says contacting her.
A's Point of View
A has just arrived in the ice sector. "Only one way tower to go" she says to herself.
"A, we need you here at the cafeteria" Jeremy tells her.
"Why?"
"William has assumed control of the lunchroom and is not letting us leave. He says you're the oldest, so you got to get here to allow us to leave."
"Okay, give me a minute."
She was about to leave when Xana appeared. "It appears my plans to separate the warriors from Aelita has a few flaws."
"And its name is William."
"I'm about to make him a believer."
"Don't. I got this."
"What are you gonna do?"
"What you said you're gonna do. Make him a believer."
She opened her Lyoko door and exited. She appeared in the park. Since Xana and A both needed the keys and Aelita, the zombies let her go. She ran to the lunchroom. She entered through the backroom. Everyone looked at her as she closed the door to prevent Xana from attacking her.
"Who are you?" William asks.
"Someone who's older than you, so I'm taking these three with me" A replies.
"And if the zombies get you?"
"Oh and staying here and waiting for a mystery cure is gonna solve everything right? Well guess what, we are that cure."
"And how's that?"
"She's right. Aelita has to go to a virtual world called Lyoko to deactivate a tower activated by Xana, a malevolent AI that we battle, which is the reason behind these zombies" Jeremy explains.
"It sounds fake."
A takes over. "William come here." He looks at her with a look of suspicion. "I ain't gonna hit ya."
"Yeah, I heard that before."
"I'm 34 years old. I'm not going in for assault of a minor." William walks over to her. "I'm about to show you our world, but once I do, you let us go."
William thinks for a second. "Okay, but this better be good."
"Are you sure this a good idea A?" Jeremy asks.
"It's the only way here to get action hero asshole out of our way. But there is one thing, no missions unless needed." She turned around. "You go first, I'll follow." She opened the Lyoko door, and he entered. A followed him.
A appeared behind William as he looked around in the mountain sector. "Incredible. It exists" William said in awe. He looked at his avatar. He had a tight suit with a line in the middle and a big sword. "Man, this blade is sweet." She grabbed him and pulled him through as they reappeared back into the lunchroom. "Your virtual world exists. You're free to go. The rest, your with me."
"Thanks for the save" Aelita says.
"Your welcome. Follow me. With my martial arts, the zombies won't touch us."
The trip to the factory was unblocked by zombies. Xana needs Jeremy to virtualize Aelita he couldn't risk getting him zombified. The four enter the elevator and descend down to see Yumi waiting. "I was beginning to think you guys weren't coming" Yumi comments.
"We had to do something…you may not approve of" Aelita tells her.
"Exactly what?"
"A?"
"I took William to Lyoko in order to convince him to let us leave" A responds.
"You did what?!"
"I know, bad idea. But right now our priority is stopping Xana. We'll talk about this later."
The four all go down to the scanner room to await virtualization, but Xana was prepared for them. "Guys, the scanners are infected with Xana implanted. It won't affect you, but I can only virtualize three of you. One will have to stay behind" Jeremy explains.
"I'll stay" A offers.
"Are you sure?" Aelita asks.
"Yes, with my fighting skills, I can hold them off if they come to attack Jeremy."
A head back up as Aelita, Yumi, and Odd were virtualized. A knew what Xana was doing. Since he didn't want Aelita to have too many bodyguards, he allowed the scanners to only be used once. She entered the laboratory and saw Jeremy looking in the cameras. "We got a problem."
A looked and saw Kiwi and a few of the zombies heading towards the lab. "Looks like Xana doesn't need you anymore."
As A awaits the zombies, she can hear the girls and Odd struggling with the monsters. Suddenly, Odd calls out. "Hey Einstein, we have an issue."
"What is it?"
"Jeremy, the tower has disappeared" Aelita reports.
"No, it's still there. I see it on my screen."
"He's right. It's straight ahead. How are we gonna get there?"
"I can try to transport Aelita with my telekinesis" Yumi suggests.
Just as the suggestion comes through, the elevator opens to reveal the zombies. "Finally a little fun." A walks up and starts to defeat the zombies. But she is too distracted to notice Kiwi slip by her. He bites Jeremy.
"Ow!" Jeremy screams.
A turns around and sees Kiwi by Jeremy. "Oh no Jeremy…" He starts to turn, and A runs up to him. "Sorry Jeremy, but this is for your own good." She hits him on the back on the head knocking him out. Kiwi looks at A. "Don't try Xana. With or without me, this attack is over." He sits down.
"Tower deactivated" Aelita reports.
A types on the keyboard. "Return to the past now" A hits enter, and time is reversed.
The group, including A, all sit in Jeremy's room discussing how to deal with William. There was no chance he was going to forget, but he was unproven. And now with everything going on, it wouldn't be a good idea to bring him in. "He can't ever go back. Why did you do it A?" Yumi asks.
She wanted to say the real reason but couldn't. They would have to experience it themselves. "We needed a quick getaway. He was the only thing standing between us. I thought if I could make a believer out of him, we could leave" A tells them.
"Apparently you didn't think about the consequences it would bring!" Yumi retorts back.
"Enough!" Aelita speaks up. "We all have our reasons to do what we do. We all agree, he doesn't go to Lyoko, not yet. If needed, we bring him back. Till then, we keep an eye on him now. Eventually, we'll tell him more about Xana. He is the only one besides us that knows our secret."
Jeremy goes and opens the door and William enters. "You know about us due to A" Ulrich starts.
"But that doesn't make you one of us" Yumi goes next.
"Until we feel we need you, you are to remain quiet" Aelita goes.
"When the time comes, you will be fully initiated" Jeremy goes.
"And then, you can join us" Odd goes.
"So, keep your mouth shut and your eyes open. You can help us keep Xana at bay here" A finishes.
"Okay. Don't worry, I'm not one to give away a secret" William replies.
They all look at each other, not knowing what the future holds for them.
A.N. – Okay, so the next one I gonna say is unknown. I only write a second episode if the first one gets 1000 to 1200 words. This one at conclusion was over 2000 words.
