CAPITAL PUNISHMENT

My fellow humans, it is time for our trial by DEATH.

Joining a Campaign game.

Starring: Zoey, Snowden, Francis, Louis

Snowden: Before we landed, I saw the National Mall. Which is filled with gunfire, explosions and military choppers flying in and out.

Francis: Which means we can go with them if we can get there.

Snowden: That is correct.

Louis: But what happens if we're too late? What's Plan B?

Snowden: One step at a time, Louis. We'll make one if the worst case happens. First things first, a way around all these planes and cars and out of Ronald Reagan Airport. Move out.

05:55:19, with a safe destination and possible military evac waiting for them, Snowden, Zoey, Francis and Louis work their way to Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport's exit. While the Army Ranger and the Biker lead the way, the Film School Student and the IT Analyst quietly discuss about their "clear and present threat".

Zoey: (quietly) We're running out of time, Louis. We need to step it up.

Louis: (quietly) I know. The next time we see a Witch, I may have an idea. But you didn't answer my question yet. What if we're wrong?

Zoey: (quietly) *sighs* I don't know yet. But it looks like we are more right by the second. If Snowden breaks his promise by the time we get to the National Mall, it won't matter. Which is why we need to stop him here and now.

[Witch Yells]

Louis: (quietly) That's her. Stay back, I'll handle this.

The group then has a Carving Witch slicing up some dead airport security personnel in their way. While it is easy to just go around and leave her alone, Louis purposely gets dangerously close to her in hopes that Snowden will sacrifice himself to save him.

[Witch Growls]

Snowden: (quietly) Do NOT engage. You won't have a chance.

[SG 553 fire]

[Witch Yells]

Snowden: SHOOT HER!

The Army Ranger shoots and dodges the Carving Witch but eventually empties his clip and gets slashed in the legs.

[Magnum Pistol fire]

Zoey: Shit! Francis, let's get outta here!

Francis: Nooo!

Louis: Francis, he's dead already!

[Pump Shotgun fire]

[Witch Death]

Zoey and Louis wanted Francis to leave Snowden again, but the Biker was not doing it. So he headshots the Carving Witch and saves the Army Ranger once more.

Francis: You okay, brother?

Snowden: I'll live. Thanks, man. *exhales sharply*

Francis: You should heal up, Captain.

Snowden: No, too soon. I don't wanna waste anything if we don't have enough First Aid Kits. You guys might need them more than I do later. Let's get going, I'll do my best to keep up.

Zoey: Sounds good. Come on, boys.

Francis: I'll find you a spare First Aid Kit or pick-me-up in no time, Snow'.

Snowden: Appreciate it.

After making sure nothing gets wasted or used early, Snowden lets the others go at their own pace while he limps behind and tries to keep up. Up ahead, Zoey and Louis argue with Francis.

Zoey: What the hell was that, Francis?!

Francis: What? I just saved him.

Zoey: You just saved our drafter for the military's God damn war against the zombies!

Francis: Okay, what the hell is going on?

Louis: Snowden could be lying about getting us back to society. He could be training us for some government bullshit.

Francis: So that's why— Wait, I thought—

Zoey: There is no time to wait and think! You saw him collect CEDA documents. Classic war games. We need to get rid of him now!

Francis: I... I... I don't believe it.

Louis: How long have we known each other? And how long have we known Snowden, huh?!

Francis: You sure? He did—

Zoey: All the good he's done is just to keep us healthy for his stupid freaking war! It's a load of horseshit! Do you wanna die fighting for people who don't actually care about you or live and be free from all this?! We trusted CEDA, we trusted the military, and they left us to die. You think they'll just save us without expecting anything in return? Think about that and your "friend", Francis.

Louis: You did say you've had enough of the military.

Despite being given the supposed situation and a choice by his currently most trusted friends, Francis still feels skeptical and does not feel comfortable with the idea of betraying Snowden. And despite having heard the argument, the Army Ranger continues to hold his tongue because he still understands why they do not trust him.

Nearly ten minutes of walking around plane and car wreckage and picking off stragglers ahead later, the survivors finally leave Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and find a safe house. Which is in the form of a tollbooth on the highway that leads to Washington D.C.

Zoey: Safe house in that tollbooth.

Snowden: Good find, kiddo.

Francis: We're waiting for ya, Snowden.

[safe house door closes]

Louis: We are unstoppable. We should call ourselves the Unstoppables!

We're safe... for now.
