Chapter Forty-Seven: Red Roses, Beautiful Waltzes, A Lovely Birthday

The day following Sebastian's return from the grave, the servants were back to normal and were introduced to Snake and his friends. Baldroy screamed like a little girl causing Frances to burst through the door to ensure he was all right. He was, thankfully. Frances left the room to allow them to get acquainted with Snake. He was getting along with his tasks fairly well, like the others it was taking a while for him to adjust to the slower lifestyle, especially in the nighttime seeing as that was when he and his snakes were the most active. Frances suggested roaming the forest, but to be careful as they did have nightly visitors sometimes. Snake wasn't surprised as Sebastian had explained that to him already. Their days continued with normal paperwork, oils and potions, toy designs, the Phantomhive lands, and the deal that had been put on hold because of the president of the Roze Company passed on, was pushed through and now the Young Master and the Roze Company were in the process of producing jewelry until a week later when they gained a visitor. Around lunch time, the manor's door was knocked upon as Frances, Ciel and Sebastian made their way down the stairs. Frances blinked in surprise when the visitor did not immediately open the door.

*Perhaps he learned his lesson after all.*

Sebastian smirked. He excused himself to go open the door. Ciel and Frances waited at the bottom of the stairs. Sebastian opened the door revealing exactly who she knew it to be: Lau and Ran-Mao.

"Hello Ea— (His eyes widened as he stared at Sebastian. Surprise filled him before they closed and a smirk appeared on his lips. A short chuckle escaped his lips.) I really shouldn't be surprise."

Sebastian returned the smirk.

"State your business, Lau." The Young Master ordered.

"Ah, yes. I will after a spot of lunch."

Frances narrowed her eyes slightly, however, she said nothing. The Young Master let out a sigh.

"Very well. (He turned to Sebastian.) Sebastian."

"Very well."

He closed the door behind them. He bowed to Lau and Ran-Mao, turned, then headed to the kitchen to retrieve two more plates. Frances and the Young Master turned on their heels and began to climb the stairs yet again. They went into one of the many sitting rooms. Frances opened the door for everyone. They all saw Sebastian placing two more plates down onto the table as they entered. They all took their seats. Sebastian began to pour tea for everyone as they all began to eat. After Sebastian served the tea, Lau spoke.

"Have you read the paper this morning? Quite an interesting article on the front page, is it not?"

His head turned to Sebastian for a moment. He looked back at Ciel and Frances who frowned slightly. She had seen it when the Young Master too read it this morning at breakfast. It had said: Get over?! Karnstein Hospital Makes Miracles Happen!

"You're saying this hospital brings the dead back to life?" The Young Master asked in disbelief.

"Exactly."

"I'm not interested in the occult, thank you."

"What if it's not an occult case?" Lau asked mysteriously.

"What?" The Young Master asked.

Frances' eyes narrowed.

"What do you know, Lau?" She demanded.

Lau gave her a smile, but she could feel his fear and it stirred the darkness inside her.

"I hear that Karnstein Hospital makes a lot of purchases at the docks I've been in charge of."

The Young Master's eye narrowed. Frances could feel his displeasure.

"Drugs?"

"No, people. (Frances felt the Young Master's surprise as a small glare formed on her face in disgust.) They're illegally buying them from overseas. In large numbers, too."

Sebastian poured more tea when he noticed the Young Master's cup was empty. Frances could feel his amusement as a dark smile appeared on his face.

"You're suggesting that they raise the dead via illicit human experimentation, then?"

"Exactly."

Frances frowned.

*The Grim Reapers would have heard something about this by now if they are killing them only to raise them.*

"That's certainly problematic, if true. Well, it's always best to dethorn a rose before it cuts one's hand. (He looked at Sebastian.) Sebastian, investigate at once."

Sebastian placed a hand on his chest as he bowed.

"Very good, my lord."

Sebastian walked out of the room. Soon after, he was gone from the estate. Frances could feel that he wanted to taunt her, but thought better of it. She could also feel the Young Master had questions for her. The remainder of lunch was finished shortly after Sebastian's departure. Frances and the Young Master saw Lau and Ran-Mao out. After closing the door, the Young Master turned.

"Come, Frances. I wish to ask you something."

"Um, actually Ciel, our other visitor has arrived." Frances said, turning to face him.

He turned to look at her in shock.

"Already?!" He yelped.

"Yes." Frances answered.

The door flung open.

"Ciel! Frances!" Lizzie's voice called out, excitedly.

Frances winced, restraining herself from covering her now ringing ears. Suddenly, she felt Sebastian's fake flirtation with someone as well as his desire that it was her he was flirting with instead. She gave a mental smirk. Suddenly, she was wrapped in a tight hug.

"Hello, Lizzie." Frances greeted, hugging her back.

They released each other. She zoomed over to Ciel, wrapping him in a tight hug. Ciel returned the hug, allowing Lizzie to spin him. Frances smiled as she calmly walked over to them. Lizzie stopped her spinning of the boy. She released him only to grab one of his hands and one of hers.

"Oh, I have such wonderful news to stare with you two! We'll be having a family holiday in April! It's a three week trip to New York by luxury liner, starting the seventeenth. Father's invited you too, Ciel! (She turned to Frances.) And Mother's invited you too, Frances!"

Frances could feel Ciel's regret. Lizzie looked at him, questioningly as she noticed the change in his demeanor.

"I'm so sorry, Lizzie. I just put a few things in motion with my company and have to make sure it runs smoothly." Ciel said.

"Oh…" Lizzie whispered, releasing both their hands.

Ciel grabbed onto Lizzie's hand at the last second. She looked at him in surprise.

"However, perhaps we could go to Westminster for a weekend."

Her eyes instantly brightened. She clutched both his hands tightly.

"Really?!" She asked.

He gave a small smile.

"Really." He assured her.

She embraced him in another hug.

"Oh, Ciel! That would be wonderful! I'll go and discuss it with Mother! Byeeee!" She exclaimed.

She ran to the door, slamming it behind her. Frances heard the door of the carriage open then close. Paula letting out a surprised, "Oh!" at her speed. The carriage took off. Frances turned her smile to Ciel.

"That was sweet of you, Ciel."

A small blush appeared on his cheeks. He turned away with a "Hmph.". Frances' smile widened into an amused smile. She followed after him. They walked to his Office. She closed the door after her. Ciel walked to the window as Frances sat down in the chair at his desk. A few seconds passed by, when Frances smiled as she felt him behind her.

"I've returned." He announced.

Frances stood from her chair and turned around. She looked over the demon in surprise. He was wearing a Doctor's coat instead of his tailcoat, a stethoscope around his neck, his teaching glasses upon his face, and a clipboard in his hand.

"You're quick as ever. (He turned around. He gasped.) What is that outfit?"

"'When in Rome," as they say, more importantly, I've learned something interesting."

"What is it?"

The Young Master sat in his chair.

"A nurse disclosed to me that the hospital sponsors a secret society called the "Aurora Society". It performs illegal human experimentation with funding from the nobility under the motto of "mankind's perfect salvation through medicine". (Frances frowned.) Unfortunately, however, I found no evidence of this within the hospital."

"Not even any notes of how they do the experiments?" Frances asked.

"Regrettably not." He answered.

She frowned further. Another headache came upon her. She ignored it.

"Then I suppose our only option is to infiltrate an Aurora Society gathering."

"Yes. It's next one will be aboard a passenger ship departing from Southampton on April seventeenth."

Frances' eyes widened. The Young Master tapped his finger on his desk.

"A gathering on a ship? How very like noblemen. (They felt his recognition of the date.) April seventeenth? (He got to his feet, hands slamming against his desk.) What's the name of the ship?" He demanded.

"It's a Majestic Star Line luxury liner called the Campania."

"Well, it looks like we will be going after all. Are you going to cancel your plans with Lizzie, Ciel?" Frances asked, giving him a hard look.

He looked away, knowing that look meant if he said yes, he would be getting an earful. He cleared his throat, sat back down in his chair, and looked back at her.

"No, I won't. We'll still go to Westminster one weekend then go on the trip. Do not tell her as I want to surprise her."

Frances and Sebastian smirked at him.

"Good." She said, "You have a question."

He nodded. He placed his head on his intertwined hands.

"Do you think the Grim Reapers are aware of the situation? After all, they are the ones who take care of reaping souls."

"I'm sure they are. These are massive amounts of souls they have to gather. There is just no way a person can rise from the dead without a soul."

"Hm." He said, "I suppose we will see how they do it then. If you get in contact with the Reapers, get any information that you can."

"Yes, my lord." She said, curtsying low to the ground. She stood back up, "Excuse me, Young Master. I must return to my paperwork."

He waved his hand in dismissal. Frances walked out the room with Sebastian following her. He could feel her trying to figure out how raising the dead could be possible, but wasn't coming up with any results. Any that made them human per say. She had just learned today that the body receives electrical signals to the brain to control movements, but without a cinematic record they wouldn't be able to move. He gently touched her arm. Her brown eyes snapped to his. He didn't like the urgent look in her eyes. He sent her calmness as he leaned close to her, rubbing her shoulder.

"Don't think about it so much, my darling. We will have answers soon."

She nodded.

"I know. It's just… strange and interesting to think about. We will see if they pull it off though."

He nodded. They arrived at her Office. She thanked him. He excused himself to return to his chores.

Their days continued to be full of work, until a certain someone's birthday arrived.

Frances awoke with the feeling that someone was coming. Lots of someones, though she had felt Alois' excitement the most during the week. She stretched out her body with a soft groan. Suddenly, the smell of freshly made bread with scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and freshly squeezed orange juice filled her nostrils. She let out a hum of delight. Her eyelids fluttered open. She looked to her left where the delicious smells were coming from and his presence. She smiled as she met his beautiful red eyes filled with mischief, love, and hidden exasperation. He made his way over to her. She sat up, moving a strand of her brown hair out of her face. She was about to move to the edge of the bed when she felt his fingers under her chin, tilting it up. Her brown eyes met his red ones again. A smirk spread across his lips.

"Happy birthday, my Frances."

Before she could thank him, his lips met hers in a passionate kiss. Their souls and flames danced with one another, tangling as his tongue tangled with hers. She let out a moan as her arms wrapped around his neck, one hand running through his hair. He warbled in pleasure. After a few minutes, he pulled away. She let out a breathless gasp. He relished in her gasp. His warble grew louder. She quickly caught her breath. Her right hand lowered to caress his cheek.

"Thank you, my handsome demon."

He turned his face to kiss her palm. She let out a content sigh. He turned his face back so her hand rested against his cheek again.

"Breakfast." He said.

He moved his arm around her waist, pulling her to the edge. She giggled, moving her head up to nuzzle his neck. He growled lowly, slowly pulling away. They gave one another seductive gazes. He pressed a quick kiss to her nose. He pulled away to bring the trolley closer to her. He uncovered the plate. The scent of the foods becoming stronger. She looked up at him with a bright smile.

"Thank you."

"You're welcome. Please excuse me, my Lady. I must see to the Young Master. I will return shortly to dress you."

She nodded.

"Very well."

He bowed. He walked to the door. Once there, he turned to look at her with a smile before closing the door. She hummed happily as she began to eat and drink. When she finished, she closed her eyes and placed her hands on her heart, feeling her siblings' well wishes all at the same time. She smiled widely.

"Thank you." She whispered.

She opened her eyes when she felt his presence. The door opened, revealing Sebastian yet again. He walked into the room, closing the door behind him. He made his way over to her closet. A few moments later, he made his way back over to her with several items all in purple, of course. Soon enough, she was dressed in a new slightly fancier silk day dress. She was looking over her appearance in the mirror as Sebastian worked on her hair. The dress had two layers of ruffles in the skirt of the dress, had a lighter purple bodice while the wrists length sleeves were the same color as the skirt. Sebastian was working on her hair when they heard the front door open. Sebastian let out a sigh. She sent him sympathy. Sebastian had finished placing her hair into two buns. He drew his hands away when the door to her bedroom slammed open.

"Mother!" Alois shouted.

Blond hair entered her eyesight as arms wrapped around her. Instinctively, she picked up the boy and spun him around with a laugh.

"Good morning, Alois Trancy!" She greeted, laughter still in her voice.

She sensed Claude standing in the doorway, watching her. She put him down. He ran to Claude. He snatched a red and gold wrapped present from him. He skipped back over to her. He thrusted the present into her hands.

"Happy birthday! Open your present!"

She smiled wider.

"Very well. (She placed the present on her nightstand. She ripped the paper off to reveal a box. She opened the box. A gasp escaped her lips. She pulled out a beautiful silver frame with bluebell flowers in the left corner with a picture of her twirling him in his garden where the bluebells grew.) This is beautiful. (She carefully placed it on her nightstand, in front of the candelabra. She looked up at Alois.) Thank you."

She pulled him into a hug. He hugged her back.

"You're welcome."

She pulled away from him with a smile, but took hold of his wrists.

"Have you eaten?" She asked.

He nodded.

"'Course I have. (He pulled away only to intertwine his hand with hers. He tugged her towards the door.) I know you ate already too. Come on! We have stuff to do!"

"Oh?" She asked, curiously, "What are we doing?"

He smiled brightly at her.

"It's a surprise!" He exclaimed.

He looked forward, still pulling her along. She furrowed her eyebrows and tilted her head. She turned her head back to Sebastian who smiled innocently at her.

*You allowed someone else to help with your plans?* She asked, slightly surprise.

He mentally raised an eyebrow as he and Claude followed after them.

*You love the boy as if he is your own child. I cannot wait to see the days of how you treat our children.*

She blushed brightly. She looked down then looked back up.

*One day.* She agreed.

He let out a loud warble/purr in her mind. She turned back forward. She realized they were near the end of the hall. Alois continued on until the front door was in view. The servants and Young Master were waiting for them when they arrived. He stopped only briefly to smile at Ciel.

"Hello, Ciel! Thank you for allowing me to take care of Frances. I'll have her back by four in the afternoon as discussed."

Ciel nodded.

"Good. (He looked at Frances with a smile.) Happy birthday, Frances."

"Thank you, Ciel."

"Come on, Mother!" Alois shouted, pulling her out of the manor.

She waved goodbye to her friends. Her friends waved goodbye to her. They walked out to see Snake in the driver's seat of the carriage. The day was warm and sunny with a gentle breeze blowing through. Frances closed her eyes, tilting her head up towards the sun. A content sigh escaped her lips. She opened her eyes to see they were at the carriage door. Claude stepped forward to open the carriage.

"My Lady." Sebastian said, holding out his hand to assist her into the carriage.

"Thank you." She said, accepting his assistance.

She sat down on the left. Sebastian assisted Alois into the carriage. Alois sat beside her. Sebastian climbed into the carriage next. He sat across from her. Claude climbed in closing the door behind him. He sat down across from Alois. Alois tapped the celling. Snake took off down the driveway and onto the streets. The carriage ride was silent until she realized they were heading to his home. She turned to Alois.

"Are we going to your home?" She asked.

"Not telling!" He sing-said.

She shook her head with a smile. She returned her gaze to the window. The carriage came to a stop at a small fork in the road. Claude exited the carriage first followed by Sebastian. Alois tugged her hand.

"Come on!" He shouted, excitedly.

"I'm coming! I'm coming!" She exclaimed, equally excited.

Sebastian assisted Alois out of the carriage followed by Frances. She smiled as she thanked him, however, before she could release his hand, she found herself in his arms. She let out a surprised laugh.

"Sebastian, I can walk."

"Please allow me to carry you to our destination."

She leaned her head against his shoulder.

"Very well."

He bowed his head slightly.

"Thank you. (He looked up at Snake.) You are to remain here until we return."

"'Yes, Sir." says Oscar." Snake said, a little green snake popping out of his tailcoat.

Frances could feel his anger and relief. She had to hide her amused smile.

"Thank you, Snake, Oscar." Frances said.

He gave her a small smile.

"'You're welcome, my Lady." says Oscar." Snake said.

Frances looked forward to see Claude held Alois in his arms. The two demons shared a look. They took off in the direction of the small fork in the road. A short time later, Frances' eyes widened as a gasp escaped her lips. They came to a stop. Sebastian gently placed her down. She took a few steps forward. In front of her stood a beautiful field of red roses and bluebells, behind that sat a high gentle waterfall falling from giant grey rocks into a smooth rolling river. The trees they stood behind framed it beautifully.

Frances: It's beau~~tiful, so very beau~~tiful~~.

Alois smirked.

"I'm glad you approve. Come on!" He said, pulling her by the arm again.

They ran through the field of flowers to the river's edge. It was grassy then slightly rocky when they reached the edge. The water was extremely clear, they could see the bottom of the river where rocks, fishes, shells, and other creatures lay.

"Wow." Frances whispered.

"My Lady."

"My lord."

Sebastian and Claude called. They turned to their respected demon. Sebastian held out a purple bathing suit with white lining the suit with a bow in the middle of her chest with matching water shoes with purple ribbon ending at her midcalf. He held out a hand gesturing to the dressing screen that wasn't there a few seconds ago. She smiled as she walked past him. Once behind the screen, he began to undress her. He placed the dress, chemise, and undergarments on the hanger. He helped her put her bathing suit on, then her water shoes. His hands skimmed her legs. She threw her head back with a soft whimper. Sebastian gave a smirk. He skimmed up her leg until he met her private anatomy which he didn't touch. Instead, he lifted his hands to place on her waist then continued traveling up to her hands. He took them into his. He lifted them to his lips, placing a kiss on each hand. He looked at her through his lashes.

"You are now ready to play in the river."

She squeezed his hands.

"Shall we?" She asked.

He smirked.

"Let's."

He released one hand, but still held the other. He led her back over to where she was standing at the water's edge. Alois was already in the water wearing a purple and green stripped swimsuit that ended at the bottom of his shoulders and about halfway down his midthigh.

"Frances, look!" Alois exclaimed, holding up a beautiful purple seashell that was smoothly curved.

"Pretty." She said.

She wandered into the water with a quiet sigh. It was cool. Not too hot, not too cold, just lovely. She walked further into the water. When she reached the deepest point, it ended at her waist. She and Alois spent a few hours playing in the water and waterfall. It was gentle and soothing. Lunch was called after they played in the waterfall for a few hours. Frances ran a hand over her face to clear the water from her face. She looked up. A gasp escaped her lips as her eyes landed on a square table covered in a white cloth with chairs on either side. A silver covered plate sat in front of each chair with two wine glasses and two regular glasses. She made her way over to Sebastian who held out a towel for her.

"Thank you."

She began to dry off. Alois skipped over to her. He took her hand.

"Come on, Mother. Let's eat!"

He dragged her over to the table. She smiled, allowing him to do so. He politely pulled out her chair.

"Thank you." She said, slightly surprised, though she didn't show it.

He smiled at her. She sat down. He helped push her in. He made his way over to his own chair. He sat down. Both demons stepped forward to pull the lids away. Frances smiled happily as she saw what was for lunch. One of her many favorites.

"Today's lunch consists of Parisian style flat meat, fried crisps, and freshly made bread with a choice of Rose wine, lemonade, or water." Sebastian announced.

"I'll take the Rose, please." She said.

"I'll take a lemonade." Alois said.

Sebastian and Claude poured the respected drinks. She smiled as she watched her demon pour the pink drink elegantly into her wine glass. He placed it down onto the table.

"Thank you." She said.

"Let's eat!" Alois exclaimed.

The two of them began to eat the delicious food. When they finished, they sighed contentedly.

"What would you like to do now, Mother?" Alois asked.

She looked around at all the nature that surrounded her. She slowly stood up and held out her hand for him. He took it, swinging their hands forward and backward.

"Let's take a stroll."

"M'kay."

They walked through the field of flowers. Frances stopped to pick up a rose and two bluebells. She tucked one into Alois' hair on his right side. He giggled softly. She kissed his forehead.

"I'll be right back."

She got up. She made her way to Sebastian who was folding the tablecloth. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She smiled. She tucked the rose into his breast pocket. Her hands skimmed down his body. His red eyes filled with desire. His warble/purr began within her mind. She leaned up to kiss his cheek. She leaned towards his ear.

"Mine." She whispered.

He lowered his head to her ear. A warble escaped his lips.

"Yes, you are mine and I am yours."

He nibbled upon her ear. She let out a small moan. Her hands clutched the edges of his tailcoat. They pulled away from one another, staring lovingly into one another's eyes. Her eyes lowered when red entered her peripheral vision. She smiled as she saw two red roses in his hands. He brought them to her lips. She smiled. She kissed both of them. When she finished, he raised it to his lips. He turned the roses to where she kissed them and kissed both of them. Her lips tingled as her body jolted.

"Malphas." She whimpered.

His fuchsia eyes flashed with the thinnest of slits. They returned to normal. He lifted his hands to place a rose into each of her buns. He slowly removed his hands from her hair. She smiled. She turned to face Claude who was watching their interaction with hidden jealousy. She looked at Sebastian with a stern stare. He let out a small grumble of displeasure. She turned back to Claude. He watched her with intrigue as she made her way to him. She smiled at Claude as she tucked the bluebell into his breast pocket. Once finished, she removed her hands. She turned from him. She felt his eyes on her as she walked back to Alois.

"I like it better in his mouth." Alois pouted.

She shook her head with an amused smile. She saw he collected a lot of bluebells. He was creating a flower crown. She knelt down beside him.

"That's pretty." She complimented.

"Thank you."

She watched him until he finished making it. He placed it on her head. He pulled away, clapping his hands.

"It looks so cute!"

Her smile widened. She hugged the boy.

"I love you, Alois." She said.

"I love you too, Mother." He said, hugging her back.

They stayed like that for a few minutes until she pulled away then touched his shoulder.

"Tag, you're it!" She exclaimed.

She ran through the field. She turned her head back to see Alois staring at her with surprise.

"Hey! No fair!"

She let out a laugh as he chased after her. They played tag for a little while until Alois collapsed in exhaustion about two hours later. Frances sat beside him.

"You have so much energy! Even more with being a half demon."

She let out a laugh.

"You have a lot of energy too."

He scowled at her. She patted his head.

"I'm going to climb a tree. You take a break."

"I want to climb a tree too!"

"Very well. Let's take a break for a moment then go climb a tree."

He nodded.

"All right."

He leaned his head against her shoulder. She placed her hands on the grass behind her, resting against them. Her legs were laid out in front of her. Her head tilted to the warmth of the sun. They remained that way, listening to the waterfall and the breeze that blew through the field every once in a while. She began to hum "I'll Pull a Bunch of Buds and Flowers". When she finished, she hummed hers and Sebastian's song. She could feel Sebastian's pleasure. Once their song came to an end, she looked over her shoulder at her demon. His desire filled eyes met hers. She looked back at Alois. She gently nudged his head. His light blue eyes looked at her.

"Are you ready?"

He nodded.

"Yeah."

They both stood up. The two of them looked around at the trees. They went deeper into the forest to look at more trees. Frances smiled as she slowly approached one. Alois approached from the other side.

"This one, Mother?" He asked, touching the bark gently.

"Yes."

He nodded. He began to climb the tree. Frances followed suit. She beat him to the top easily. She looked around in awe as she looked at the surrounding tress and the waterfall that still had another five feet than the trees.

"Wow." She whispered in awe.

"Wow, indeed." Alois agreed.

They stayed up there, enjoying the view until Claude appeared on the branch she was on.

"My lord, my Lady. It is time to redress and return to Phantomhive Manor."

Frances nodded.

"Very well." Alois said.

Claude disappeared. Frances looked at Alois.

"Is there a ball awaiting me at Phantomhive Manor?"

He smiled brightly.

"Maaaybe. Maybe not." He sing-said.

Frances shook her head with an amused smile. The two of them began to climb down the tree carefully. When they reached the bottom, Sebastian and Claude awaited them.

"My Lady." Sebastian gestured forward.

The four of them walked forward. The changing screens were once again put up. As they neared the water, they separated to go to their respective screens. Frances let out a gasp when she saw the beautiful purple dress. It was a deep purple silk with off the shoulder sleeves with a large ruffled hoop skirt, matching gloves, and heels. Her hands reached out to touch the silky fabric.

"Wow." She whispered.

"I'm glad you approve." Sebastian said, a smile could be heard in his voice. She turned to face him, "I made this for you."

Her eyes widened. She wrapped her arms around him.

"Thank you."

He returned the hug.

"You're welcome." He whispered into her ear. His hand gently ran up her arms, stopping at her neck, "You'll have to take this off for tonight." He stated, gently, but she could hear the sadness that she felt. His nose gently skimmed her neck. She shivered slightly. Her arms wrapped around his neck behind her, "Not to worry, my love, it'll be back on before you know it. (The necklace disappeared as a new one took its place.) You can wear this one."

She looked down and gasped. It was a stunning big, black rose on a silver chain.

"Malphas…"

Frances: It's beaut~~~iful.

He kissed her neck.

"I'm glad you like it. Now, let's get you dressed."

In the next few seconds, she was dressed and her hair was in a new style. Her hair was now in elegant waves with two black roses in the corner of her right ear. She let out a quiet squeal when he lifted her into his arms, quickly wrapping her arms around his neck. He walked around the screen. It disappeared the second he was in front of it. She looked to see Claude was carrying Alois who was dressed in a nice black and white tuxedo with a light purple bowtie.

"You look nice, Alois." Frances complimented.

"Thank you. You look beautiful."

"Thank you."

Sebastian and Claude made their way through the field. Frances looked over Sebastian's shoulder at the beautiful nature until it was out of sight. She looked forward They quickly made their way to where Snake was waiting with the carriage. He was already in the driver seat. Frances smiled, knowing he sensed them. Sebastian placed her into the carriage first, sitting across from her. Claude followed him, placing Alois beside her, sitting across from him. He closed the door behind them. Sebastian tapped the roof. Snake took off. Frances watched the scenery pass by.

After some time, the Phantomhive Manor came into view. Frances could feel the excitement from Lizzie, Soma, Mey-rin, Baldroy, Finny, Tanaka, and even Ciel as they drew closer. There were others in the manor as well, though she couldn't tell who, only that a few felt familiar. Snake pulled to a stop in front of the manor. Snake opened the door for them. Claude stepped out first, followed by Sebastian who assisted Alois then Frances out of the carriage.

"Thank you." She said, smiling at him.

"You're welcome."

The five of them made their way up the stairs of the front door. Snake opened it for them. She thanked him causing him to lightly blush.

"'You're welcome." says Oscar." Snake and Oscar said.

Frances smiled wider. They made their way inside the manor. Frances looked around, however, no one was inside the front entranceway. Sebastian gave a small smirk. Claude and Alois led the way upstairs. Sebastian's smirk grew. They arrived at the ballroom where voices were shushing one another. They came to a stop. Sebastian looked at Snake. Snake nodded, opening the door. The ballroom was lit with thousands of candles, red roses, and many people. Frances' eyes widened as she spotted a beautiful black banner with the words: HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LADY FRANCES! in purple writing. Lady Elizabeth and Prince Soma stood on either side of Ciel. Behind them stood Agni, Elizabeth's family, Grell, Irene, and Grimsby with a few other familiar faces she or Ciel had business dealings with. The servants stood on the right by the fireplace. A band sat in the right corner. Tables full of food and drinks on the left.

"Happy birthday, Lady Frances!" Everyone exclaimed.

Frances smiled brightly and widely.

"Thank you, everyone! I am so surprised!"

Sebastian and Ciel smirked at her lie. Lady Elizabeth ran forward with a giggle. She wrapped her arms tightly around Frances. Frances returned the hug.

"That was the point!" She exclaimed with another giggle, pulling away, but keeping her hands on her arms, "Come on! It's time to dance!"

Edward approached them. The two of them looked at him. He cleared his throat then held out his hand.

"My Lady, may I have this dance?"

"Of course." She said, accepting his hand.

He led her to the dance floor. The music started. They began to dance. It was slightly awkward as Frances could feel his displeasure and reluctance. Once the dance was over, another male took his place then another and another. All of whom were eligible. She understood the purpose of the ball and could feel their desire as well as some of their hidden agendas, however, she would never choose any of them as her heart, body, soul, and being belonged to Sebastian for all eternity. Sebastian warbled/purred in pleasure within her mind. A gentleman with red hair and blue eyes approached her when a better man/woman with beautiful long red hair and stunning yellow-green eyes shoved their way in, whisking her away. She let a smile cross her lips.

"Why, thank you, my darling for saving me from those no good men back there." She whispered, knowing he could hear her.

Grell's yellow-green eyes met hers while a sharp tooth grin spread across his lips. He was wearing a beautiful red dress.

"Oh darling, I'm not doing this for free. I fully expect a night with that handsome demon as payment for saving you."

She shook her head.

"Never. He is mine. I will never share."

Grell gave her puppy eyes.

"B-But, Frances! Sharing is caring! You know how much I love the bad boys. And he is out of control bad."

She let out a small laugh as he twirled her.

"Actually, he has the most control than any other demon that I've met and seen."

"How is he in bed?" Grell changed the subject.

"I take it we're back to being friends?"

Grell looked at her surprised.

"Darling, we have always been friends."

Frances looked at him in surprise.

"William said you were angry that Sebastian and I got married. I assumed that was the reason you haven't visited me after you were released from your punishment."

Grell stared at her with shocked eyes. Suddenly, he wrapped his arms tightly around her, hugging her tightly. So tightly, he cut off her oxygen.

"Girllllll! You missed me?!" He squealed somehow quietly.

"Grell… can't… breathe!" She gasped.

Sebastian was by her side in an instant. Grell let go of her, but didn't remove his hands from her shoulders. His smile was still wide as he spoke,

"I was angry that you married my Romeo and acted out, but I am happy for you. Even if I am the better looking one (Grell flipped his hair with his hand. Frances shook her head, though a smile remained on her lips.), I can understand why he married you (He looked at Sebastian then returned his gaze to her.). You are a very powerful being, a strong being, and a difficult being than the boring humans I've seen. I'm sorry I haven't been around to visit. I've missed our tea times. I've been a bit busy with my soul collections."

She smiled as tears filled her eyes.

"I've missed our tea times as well."

She hugged Grell to her, happy that she didn't truly lose him like she thought she had. Grell returned the hug. They pulled away from one another after a few minutes, smiling at one another. Frances blinked away the tears. Lizzie suddenly hugged her, catching her off guard for a second, cutting off her next question. Frances hugged her back.

"Francesssss! Are you enjoying yourself?" She asked.

Her bright green eyes looked into hers. She could see and feel the concern. She knew this was her way of making her feel better. Frances loved this girl for it. She was much more insightful than she let on.

"I am. Thank you, Lizzie. Let's go get some chocolate truffles."

"Ooooh! Yes, please!" Both Lizzie and Grell exclaimed.

Frances smiled. She led the two of them over to the table. She glanced over her shoulder at Sebastian.

"Thank you." She mouthed to him.

He bowed slightly.

*You're welcome, my love.*

She sent him a smile. She looked forward. The three of them made their way to the yummy dessert table. After Frances had her fill, she excused herself to mingle with others.

The party continued on. As she finished a conversation with another person, she excused herself. She looked around the room, grabbing a glass of champagne from Finny's serving tray. She nodded her thanks to him. He smiled at her. She made her way through the room when a familiar crackly voice spoke,

"Happy closer to death day, Fearless Frances."

She smiled brightly. She turned around to see the Grim Reaper wearing his usual grey attire.

"Thank you, Undertaker. (She hugged him. He hugged her back. She pulled away after a few minutes.) How are you?"

He gave his usual eerie chuckle.

"Doing just swell, thank you. Enjoying your party?"

"Yes, I am. Thank you. Are you enjoying the party?"

He chuckled again.

"Indeed. Your butler sure knows how to bake."

She gave a wide smile as she looked over at the demon they were talking about. He was adding more food to the trays. His red eyes met hers. He returned the smile.

"He sure does. (She turned back to Undertaker. She took a sip of champagne. She pulled her glass away.) Would you like to dance?"

He smirked at her.

"Isn't it rather improper for a lady to ask a gentleman to dance?"

She smirked back as she placed the empty glass onto Baldory's tray as he passed by.

"You know I will ask for a dance if I so wish, any time I want, regardless of if it's not proper."

His smirk widened even further. He held out his hand for her.

"Very well, my Lady."

He led her to the dance floor. They got into position as the song that was already playing continued. They danced in time with the music. They remained silent as they danced, enjoying one another's company. She laughed as he twirled her.

The other guests watched her and Undertaker dance. Ciel leaned against the wall near the fireplace watching them as well. A smirk pulled at his lips.

"Who would have thought life and death would dance with one another? (A thoughtful look crossed his face.) Though, I suppose it's actually a half light, half darkness dancing with death."

"You were correct the first time, Young Master." Sebastian said, coming to his side. He too was watching his mate dancing with the retired Reaper, "She is full of life even with the darkness inside her."

Frances smiled under the praise as they danced past them.

"They are correct, you know." Undertaker spoke. She looked at him, "You are an exquisite human. Different than all the boring humans. You don't care about being proper, though you are as proper as any lady. You embrace life and death and everything in between with love and acceptance."

She looked at him. There was something in that last sentence, especially with the way his eyes… He dipped her suddenly. She let out a gasp before laughter escaped her lips.

"Undertaker." She laughed out his name.

He chuckled as he lifted her up and twirled her immediately afterwards. They continued to dance. When the song came to an end, the both of them curtsied. Everyone applauded. The two of them grinned widely at one another. They slowly stood. They took one another's hand before they walked off the dance floor.

"You should show off your dance moves more often."

He chuckled at her.

"You said that the last two times we danced."

"Exactly my point! Those were the only times we danced."

He smiled at her. He was about to reply when a red blur ran towards them, yanked Undertaker and shoved Frances away from him and then wrapped their arms around Undertaker.

"No fair!" Grell exclaimed, glaring at her, "Stop taking all the good men! Leave some for us who have yet to find our soul mate!"

Frances gave a smile. She placed her hand on his shoulder.

"You'll find them some day. (She looked at Undertaker as well who held an indifference look. She returned her gaze to Grell.) Excuse me, gentlemen."

She walked away. She mingled with others and danced with all her friends including Ciel. They enjoyed the delicious chocolate cake that held black music note decorations all over the four-tier cake. After cake, she opened her gifts from the guests. After opening presents, she continued to mingle with her guests, she thanked them and finally talked with Irene and Grimsby. She hugged Irene as they said, "Hello.".

"I'm so sorry I haven't been able to catch up with you two." Frances said, pulling away from Irene.

"Hello, Grimsby." Frances said, holding out her hand.

He took it, placing it to her lips, kissing it.

"Hello, Lady Frances." He said, releasing her hand.

"It's quite all right. You are quite popular." Lady Irene said, smiling at her, "I don't blame you; you are absolutely wonderful."

"Thank you, Irene. You are too sweet."

Her smile widened.

"Of course, Frances."

They continued to talk about different things regarding what they have been doing the past several weeks. The two of them even voiced their surprise that Sebastian was alive. She had given them an awkward laugh as she agreed as well. She didn't like the thought of Sebastian's "death". She changed the conversation to more pleasant things.

Once midnight appeared, the guests began to take their leave. Slowly they left until everyone was gone around one in the morning. Grell and the Midfords being the last ones to leave. Grell hugged her goodbye.

"I'll continue to take care of William." He whispered into her ear.

Her eyes widened. A slight tingle of pain coursed through her heart. His yellow-green eyes looked into her brown ones. She smiled gently.

"Thank you, Grell." She said.

He smiled at her. He waved goodbye.

"Ta-ta, darlings!" He cried, bounding away.

Frances' smile widened in amusement. Ciel turned and began to walk back into the manor. Frances then the servants followed after him. Sebastian closed the door after them.

"You lot clean up this mess. Sebastian, ready my bed."

"Yes, my lord." The six of them said.

Frances and Ciel began to climb the stairs with Sebastian behind them. They reached her bedroom. Frances and Ciel turned to one another. He gave her a smile.

"Happy birthday, Frances."

"Thank you, Ciel. And thank you for my gift. Good night."

"You're welcome. Good night."

The two of them hugged one another. After a moment, they released one another. Ciel began making his way to his bedroom. Frances' eyes glanced at Sebastian as he walked past her, following the Young Master, his hand grazing her body. She shuddered in pleasure. He leaned towards her ear.

"Meet me in the gardens in twenty minutes." He sent her.

"Yes, my demon." She purred.

The demon butler smirked at her as he opened her door for her.

"Thank you." She said, louder.

"You're welcome." He said, louder. He lowered his voice again, "Please remain in your dress."

"Yes, my demon." She whispered.

She entered the room. He closed the door behind her. She made her way to the window. She took off her gloves, placing them on her nightstand. Then she opened the window. She looked at her hand as she summoned rope to her hand. She tied it around her bedpost then threw the remainder out the window. She carefully climbed out the window. She braced herself for a moment before quickly sliding down the rope. She landed on the floor with a slight thud. She placed her hand on the rope, making it disappear. She made her way to the gardens. Her smile remained as she walked through the dark gardens, the moonlight and her feet guiding her. She sat on the bench that overlooked the forest. Her eyes looked up at the beautiful glittering stars. The moon was a First Quarter tonight. She closed her eyes as she placed her hands on her heart, on his mark, feeling her siblings' even beating hearts. Her smile grew. She loved feeling their hearts within her. It gave her even more reassurance to feel their feelings and presence. She began to hum their song including Sebastian's and her own.

Fifteen minutes later, his dark figure loomed over her. Her smile widened further. Her brown eyes opened to meet his red eyes. His hand reached for her, placing it upon her shoulder, slowly sliding down it. He tugged it away from under her other hand, gently brushing against her heart, against his mark. She shuddered as a whimpered moan escaped her lips. He lifted her hand, pulling her up to her feet, yanking her close. His lips lowered to her ear.

"I know what you truly desire, WHO you truly desire."

She smirked as she leaned into his ear.

"You are correct, as usual. (Her hands slid up his chest as she licked his ear. He let out a low growl.) My heart, my body, my soul, my being all belong to you, my devilish crow demon Malphas. (Her clawed hands trailed their way to cup his cheeks. She lifted his face so he could look into her fuchsia/purple eyes. She saw his possessiveness, obsession, desire, and love within his red eyes. She pulled him into a passionate kiss. Malphas warbled/growled/purred in pleasure as he returned the kiss. His hands went to wrap around her when suddenly she pulled away. A hint of mischievousness within her fuchsia eyes.) You know how and where to find me."

She finished transforming. Her heeled feet turned and began to run towards the forest. Malphas stood there, eyes wide as they shook with surprise. A smirk slowly spread across his lips. He lifted his head to straighten his posture. His eyes glowed a hellish fuchsia to match her own, though they swirled with orange instead of purple.

"Indeed."

He took off after her.

He easily caught up to her and they began to tango in a deadly dance. Jumping to tree branches, dodging between trees, boulders, rocks, and other objects that nature presented them with, they circled one another several times, and ran. Their song permeated the air as they danced followed by the song that came to her mind whenever her demon got jealous of Claude, but only the part that sounded like Malphas' voice. The verse that went: Why~~~~ does~~~ my~~~~~ hear~~~~~t cry~~~~~? Feel~~ings I~~~ can't~~ fight~~~~~~! You're free to leave me just~~~ don't~~ deceive me and please~~~~ believe me when I say~~~ I~~~~ love~~~~~ you~~~~~~! Followed by the song 'The Last man in my Life'.

The last note pierced the air. She stopped the second her foot touched her Isle. His tendrils of darkness wrapped around her body. She shivered. His sharp feathers began to fall around her. Her head tilted back as a contented sigh escaped her lips. His slender black arms wrapped around her waist. His clawed hands slowly trailed her upper body, clawed fingers grazed her heart, his mark. She shivered, her purr becoming louder. Her body completely relaxed as her arms wrapped behind her around his neck. His head lowered to her neck where he began to bite and lick her flesh. She tilted her head to allow him more access. Her hands ran through the bottom portion of his hair and neck. His warble/purr/rumble grew louder. He bit her harder. She cried out in pain and pleasure, allowing her body to relax completely against him. He scooped her into his right arm. Her hand trailed to his shoulder as he used his speed to go to their bedroom. He placed her down onto her feet. Her hands trailed down his torso feeling the wisps caress her hands and her body. Once on her feet, she looked up into his eyes. Their gaze expressed the obsessive love they have for one another. Malphas gently placed a clawed hand on her shoulder. He slowly turned her around. She complied. He began to unbutton the dress. When he got about a quarter way done with the buttons, the silky dress began to slip from her shoulders. Frances pulled the sleeves down and off her arms. Malphas undid the last button. The dress fell to the floor with a quiet wisp. His clawed hands grabbed onto her chemise. Her arms went up as he pulled it up her body.

His nails scraped her skin. She felt his breath against the skin of her stomach before feeling his lips kiss it. She shivered. The second it was over her head, she turned to face him. She saw the chemise fall to the floor. Her own claws trailed up his torso. Malphas growled in pleasure. She smiled. Her lips pressed against his skin, trailing up his torso. His clawed hands trailed down to her undergarments. As he lowered them, her lips kissed his heart, her mark. His warble/purr grew louder as he shook in pleasure, his tendrils flickered more violently, caressing every inch of her. Her body trembled in pleasure. The undergarment pooled at her feet. Her hands held his shoulders as she stepped out of them, her lips now at his neck. His claws trailed her legs causing her to arch her back, thrusting her breasts closer to his face. He growled. He grabbed her buttocks, pulling her flush against his body. His private anatomy close to her private anatomy. Her legs wrapped around him. His lips wrapped around her left nipple. She threw her head back as a moan fell from her lips.

"Malphas." She moaned, lifting her head back up as she pulled his hair.

He released her nibble with a growl. Her lips pressed against his. He returned the kiss. A combination of all their songs permeated the air. Her hips thrusted. His private anatomy entered partly into her private anatomy. Malphas' eyes flashed brighter as he moaned.

In the next second, he placed her on the bed, slowly pushing himself into her. Her moans filled the air.

"My Frances." He growled into her lips.

"My Malphas. Mea! (Mine!)" She moaned, her tongue entered his mouth.

Their tongues danced with one another. Her hand ran up the back of his head. She reached his left horn as his length was fully within her. He pulled away, relishing her gasp. His demon tongue licked her lips. A come-hither whimper escaped her. He pulled to her entrance then pushed back in. She met his thrusts, gripping tightly to his horn to help her meet his thrusts. The sound of their songs growing into a crescendo as well as their sounds of pleasure permeated the air. Malphas lifted her as he continued to thrust into her.

"Mal-ph-as!"

She clung tighter to him. Her nails dug into his neck as her hand tightened on his horn.

"Yes, my mate." He growled.

His wings wrapped around her, pressing and running up and down her back. Her head fell back, tilting her face so her cheek could brush against his sharp yet soft wings. She let out a come-hither sigh.

"My beautiful demon."

His warble/purr/growl grew louder. His nose nuzzled her cheek as he placed her on his wings.

"My exquisite hybrid."

His tongue darted out to lick her cheek.

"Malphas."

"Frances."

She moved her head to look back at her demon. She leaned up and embraced his lips. He kissed her back. They both went over the edge, moaning into one another's mouths. He continued to thrust six more times as their essence flowed. She met each of his thrusts with breathless huffs. He rested inside her. She let out a long moan.

Her hand slowly slid down his horn to where his horn met his head. She moved her hand to run through his hair. Her other hand loosened her grip from his neck, gently stroking the wounds she created, feeling them heal under her hand. Her hands went to his cheek. His hands caressed up her body to cup her cheeks. Their eyes met, lips open to sing at the same time.

Frances: I love~~~~~~ you, Malphas.

Malphas: I love~~~~~ you, Frances.

They tilted their heads towards one another.

Malphas: Happy birthday to you~~, happy birthday to you~~, happy birthday my dearest Frances~~, happy birthday to you~~~.

"Thank you." She whispered.

Their lips connected in a passionate kiss. Their souls continued to dance and entwine with one another. Their songs continued to permeate the air. They pulled away after a few minutes. She gasped for air. Malphas smirked. He rolled them over. She was now on top of him. Her hands lowered to his chest, her hands brushed his heart, her mark.

His eyes closed as he shuddered and thrusted.

Another loud warble escaped his lips as she moaned. His eyes opened, amusement and obsessive love within them.

"My little minx." He warbled.

Her smile widened as she purred louder. Her hands lowered, one hand stopped at his chest while the other lowered to wrap around his waist. Her head rested against his chest. Malphas' wings continued to press against her, his tendrils caressed her body. One hand ran through her hair, the other rested on the side of her hip. She nuzzled his chest, placing a kiss upon it as he kissed her air.

"I love you, for all eternity, my precious demon."

"I love you, for all eternity, my breath-taking hybrid."

Their eyes closed, bodies remained entwined as they fell asleep in each other's arms.

The following morning, Frances awoke to her demon's hand running through her hair. She purred louder in content, smiling wider when his warble grew louder as well. She stretched her body out.

The two of them groaning when her private anatomy sent his private anatomy deeper into her.

His claw holding her hip dug into her skin. Her hands touched his hair then slid down to his face as she relaxed. His grip loosened, lightly caressing her hip. As she lifted her head and moved to be directly over his head, his hand caressed up her body while his other hand cupped her face.

"Good morning, Malphas." She greeted.

His other hand cupped her other cheek.

"Good morning, my precious Frances."

They leaned forward to share in a good morning kiss, their souls and flames intertwining. They pulled away after a few minutes, humming in delight. Her hand trailed down to his chest, her head tilted slightly as her other hand reached up to run two fingers over the feathers around his upper eye. His mouth open to show off his fangs and his loud warble to escape him. Her smile widened.

"Such a handsome crow."

His warble grew louder. His hands slipped to run down her shoulders, down her back. One hand stopped at her hip while the other began to trace her scars. She moaned. Her purr grew louder.

"Such a beautiful kitten."

They continued to stroke one another for a while until Malphas let out a reluctant sigh.

"Come, my darling, we must return to the manor."

She nodded with a slight pout.

"All right."

Malphas slowly pulled from her. When he was completely out, she shuddered.

The two of them began to transform back to their human forms. Sebastian was dressed in his butler suit, Frances remained naked. She summoned a light blue day dress, a white chemise, white undergarments, and light blue heels. Sebastian took them from her and dressed her for the day. He then carried her to Phantomhive Manor where they returned to their slower day routine.
