The next few days passed by uneventful for Emily, Dracula, and the rest of the manor staff and residents. Emily thanked Dracula for the black clothes she now wore and Dracula was pleased she liked them. The two were polite with each other, but a bit awkward since they didn't know how to move forward with the emotions they felt towards each other. One night Dracula was out for his evening flight and Emily was walking about the manor, when she heard faint crying that sounded like a baby.
Emily knew that Dracula had an infant daughter named Mavis, though she hadn't seen her yet. She followed the sound of the crying to a room she had not been in, where she saw a trio of witches around a crib trying to calm down and cheer up a young baby girl crying, but they weren't having much luck. Emily approached the witches and got their attention.
"Should I have a go at her?" Asked Emily.
"Sure." Said one of the witches as she and her two companies stepped out of the way.
Emily approached the cradle and looked down at the crying baby. She gently picked the baby up and began to rock her back and forth as she hummed a little melody. Mavis stopped crying and eventually calmed down, closing her eyes, before drifting off to sleep. Emily smiled at the sleeping Mavis as she put her in the crib. The witches stared at Emily in awe as she turned and walked out of the room.
Unbeknownst to any of them, Dracula in his bat form had witnessed the whole thing and was amazed. Emily was a incredible monster that had just shown a great deal of motherly behavior to Mavis and Dracula's feelings for Emily became even stronger. Dracula considered making Emily his wife, but first he wanted to see how his best friends reacted to her and see how they felt about the undead woman.
To be continued.
