The other racers came in and some of them were exhausted from facing the obstacles of the 1st event while other were just feeling their body ache thanks to the long race they had to go through...
Momo came in feeling exhausted as her jacket was still open due to using Creation more than she expected
"I didn't lose the race did I...?"
Sadly there was a passenger on her back as Minoru used his quirk to cling onto her jacket and not fall behind
"Mission accomplished" he smiled "I made it along with the rest!"
"You... are just the worst!" she groaned at the little perv
Midnight called the 42 students to gather around while the rest go to the spectator seats and watch the remaining events safely much to their disappointment. But the good news is they get to see the competitors hurt each other
The R-rated hero then presented the next event with a smile
Cavalry battle
"Cavalry...?" Denki felt nervous "I'm not good in those!"
"A group fight huh?" Tsuyu blinked "I wonder how this will work?"
Minoru simply felt happy since this involves less physical work and he get's to have some trials to interact with females in forming a team in this event
Midnight explained that this one will test the cooperation and trust of the group being made to obtain the high score and continue to the the final event of the sports festival
"A point-based event" Rikido hummed "just like the entrance exam..."
"I wonder what kind of rules will this cavalry have?" Momo questioned
"I hope that it isn't one where we have to risk injury again..." Toru whimpered "the obstacles still scared me!"
Then she revealed that the students in their place marks getting their respective points and Izuku, who took first place, will receive the highest number in the cavalry battle making everyone look at him fiercely
'Uh-oh...' he gulped 'I just made myself the target for everyone thanks to the 10 million...' he scratched his head 'meaning my team for this event will have to be trustworthy...'
"Now with that out of the way" Midnight cracked her whip "I'll explain the rules of this event"
While the R-rated hero explained the rules, the teachers are looking at the students that will be forming their teams
"I know without a doubt Midoriya will have trouble" Thirteen sighed
"Yeah" Snipe nodded "he may be recognized as the top holder now, but that also makes him a target"
"I wouldn't worry" Necrom hummed "that boy will come up with something"
"You sure have faith in your relative Necrom" Cementoss blinked "interested on taking him under your wing?"
That question got the other teachers to look at the controversial hero curiously
"Nope" he answered with a smile "I'm just here to cheer for him to succeed"
Back with the students, they were gathering into groups with some of the powerful ones getting surrounded by their classmates hoping to feel strong on still continue in participating the competition
'Of course everyone would evade me...' Izuku looked around 'they want to take the spot instead protecting it'
He then sat on the grass and started to make his plan "I need to form a team that can protect me while also helping all of us stay mobile" he hummed "maybe I can have Hatsume be part of it since she can use me to gain reputation for her babies to be noticed" and then another person came into mind "Iida's a good choice too, but he would be too fast and Hatsume may complain that her baby isn't being used"
Before long the boy was muttering to himself gaining the attention of everyone and most looked at him weirdly as he continued on listing the people he was thinking out loud
"He's acting weird now"
"Maybe it's the pressure finally getting him"
"Yeah, carrying 10 million points isn't really helpful..."
Thankfully the muttering stopped when Izuku felt a hand on his shoulder and he turned to see his friend Ochaco
"Hey Deku" she smiled "still not getting any luck?"
"You know competition" he chuckled nervously "getting is better than keeping..."
"Now how are we getting another one...?" she hummed
"Hey Midoriya!" Mei made her way to the duo "I see that you have a spot is open!"
"Hatsume!" he smiled "I know what you want and that is to show your babies to everyone again"
"You got it!" she grinned "I was so excited to show my babies off that I forgot to give yours after I finished...!"
"That's okay" he assured "I can wait a little longer" and then noticed her box "is that another baby you made?"
"Babies actually" she opened it to reveal a lot of stuff inside "during my enrollment in UA, I have been working nonstop!"
"I hope you tested those out before bringing them here" he blinked at the heavy load of inventions 'and I hoped Edison didn't pass out from seeing how much you love your work'
"Oh don't worry" the inventor smiled "they were all tested before the festival" and pulled out a jetpack "like this baby here!"
Izuku immediately noticed the shape and they talked happily about it. Making Ochaco stare at them feeling something weird in her...
After getting details of that invention, Izuku blinked realizing that he's still one member short
'I have Uraraka and Hatsume in the team' he thought and looked around for the final member 'I think I know who is the last one' he then walked toward the intended member 'I just hope he agrees...'
As the competitors tried to gather their teams, the teachers gave their comments on this event
"It sure is going to be something" Cementoss hummed
"Yeah" Vlad King agreed "they will have to figure out what strengths and weaknesses they use as a team..."
"No doubt it's a challenge for heroes to cooperate suddenly" Necrom shook his head 'the government's been relying too much on progress and result that they didn't realize personality is a factor too'
Toshinori looked at his protege in worry 'Young Midoriya, I hope that your team is capable...'
Everyone is now ready to start the cavalry battle and their headbands are the targets to stay in the festival
"Now that everyone's set" Midnight spoke "I want to say that you all will be fighting for your lives!" she cracked her whip "begin...!"
A majority of the enemy groups went after Izuku and his headband as it is the top priority to become number one!
'I knew it' he grunted as his team dodged the unexpected assaults coming after him
"This isn't going to help us" Izuku looked at the predators around him wanting the headband he wore 'better make the risk now...!'
He grabbed his headband and removed it!
Getting everyone's, including audience and media, attention as he raised the item causing all the trouble to him and his team
"You want the best spot so badly...?" the boy threw it away "just take it!"
Everyone was in disbelief that the boy would give up his position so quickly making a loud upset
"What the hell!?"
"Did that kid hurt his head or something?!"
"Why would he give up his position like that...!?"
"You won't be a hero for doing that...!"
"Has that boy lost it?"
"Looks like this one doesn't care for recognition..."
"You think that this will make you a hero!?"
Izuku ignored the comments and patted his team to move at the chance as the other teams were still trying get their heads back on their shoulders
"Deku" Ochaco looked to her friend "wasn't it a bad decision that you threw your points away?"
"Yeah" Mei nodded "now we can't be recognized by everyone...!"
"We'll get it back" he looked at his team "keeping that headband will hinder us in our progress to develop strength"
"I see" Fumikage hummed "the dark world has taught you to take risks"
"You said it shadowbird" a voice echoed in the arena making everything stop, even the other competitors fighting over the 10 million stared at Izuku's team in bewilderment...!
"Who said that!?" Mei looked around
"Could you...be another soul?" Ochaco blinked
"I am" the voice hummed "my name is Ryoma"
"Ryoma" Izuku hummed "Sakomoto Ryoma, the samurai governor who tried to keep Japan's lifestyle alive in the evolving world"
"I see my work is still in history books" the spirit laughed "I may be stubborn on keeping the old ways. But I was not going to let my home change thanks to outsiders...!"
"Then let me show you how time was able to help your land get better" the boy reasoned "you cannot deny the world is learning from each other"
"I accept your proposal!" Ryoma conceded "show me how the world grew after my passing!"
He used his quirk to summon Ryoma and the spirit appeared as a parka coat; it was a dual colored design of blue and white, black ships as shoulder pads and a pair of horns on the hood
The spirit went to Izuku turning itself into an eyecon on his hand
"Deku..." the gravity girl blinked at her friend
"We now have a chance" he smiled and summoned his belt "Ryoma...I'll show you how different the world has become!"
Kaigan! Ryoma! Wake up Japan! To a new dawn...!
Most were struck into silence at Izuku's new coat and gulped at how regal he looked...
With a few breaking the silence
"A new soul has arrived" Shiozaki closed here eyes and prayed "Lord, have mercy on that boy"
"And it's Ryoma" Reiko blinked "are the souls he summoned from the quirkless era...?"
"If that's the case" Kinoko spoke "I'm hoping that he can summon someone interesting later"
"Yeah" Setsuna nodded "I'm wanting to see what that new soul can do"
And the reptilian girl got her answer as Izuku summoned a water dragon! Using it to attack the other teams due to not expecting that to happen...!
"I don't believe this folks!" Present Mic "seems that Izuku is making up for his sudden drop by using his new coat called Ryoma!"
"History said that Ryoma was a governor on boats" Eraserhead looked at his student "and apparently that boy saw it as the man's quirk with the past believing dragons control water"
The fight for points raged as Katsuki was able to gather a good amount before his headband was swiped by Neito and the 1-B student gloated at getting that from him
Resulting in a heavy fight against the annoying student who apparently has a mimicry quirk to use other types freely from simply touching the holder
But that didn't stop the blonde explosive from his fury and blasted through Neito's team and taking all the headbands from the guy securing his spot in the top section of the list!
Shouto was able to keep the lead as he got the 10 million points and his team had helped him get more points despite being in the top spot already... and used the ice half of his quirk to protect himself from snatchers
'Midoriya' the dual element student glanced at his opponent gathering a lot of small points 'I know you're biding time right now...'
The timer now showed that it had 3 minutes remaining and Izuku was able to get distance thanks to Mei's babies from snatchers
"At least we got a good bundle" Ochaco smiled
"And it's thanks to Hatsume's babies helping us" Izuku cheered
"You got that right!" the inventor grinned "my babies aren't making us lose!" and then thought something 'if Midoriya can get us back on the top list, I'll make a baby that works only for him...!'
Ochaco looked a bit off at her teammate 'that's because I used my quirk to make them lighter' she thought
"Hey Midoriya" Fumikage spoke "you think that we should get to Shouto now?"
"That's already the next plan" he nodded "to get back in the top spot we have to challenge the stronger ones!"
However just when they were about to get on with Shouto's team...Katsuki and his team blocked them
"We're not done Deku" the blonde bomber grinned madly "you and I have unfinished business..."
"Looks like Shouto is keeping that lead..." Izuku muttered as brought out his Gangan saber and changed it to gun mode "stay alert guys" he said to his team
"Whoa!" Mei smiled at the weapon "that's a baby I haven't seen before!"
"You can study it after I ask Yaoyorozu to create a copy" he said to the inventor 'I'm glad that dad added the blueprint of this item...'
Katsuki used his explosion to fly forward and make an attempt to get the points from his target only to have a water dragon strike him thanks to Izuku's new coat
"Don't think you'll get me with that Katsuki" Izuku said firing his weapon
Making the blonde block the energy shots as he flew backwards and falling to the ground...!
Hanta used his tape and reeled him back to his position only to hear something
Dai-kaigan! Gangan minna! Omega shoot!
Izuku fired unleashing an energy dragon as Katsuki used his explosion quirk again not noticing Dark Shadow taking a couple of headbands from him as his team scattered from the omega attack
"And times up!" the voice hero spoke seeing the timer hit zero "everyone stop, the event is over!"
The competitors stopped and the blonde bomber landed face first on the ground
"That was one intense event" the voice hero leaned back "wouldn't you say so Eraser...?"
"It is" the erasure hero looked at his students "I'm in disbelief at Midoriya's actions"
"You said it" he agreed "now let's get to the list on which teams will participate in the final event of the Sports Festival!"
Everyone looked at the monitor and showed who will participate and continue participating
Izuku, Katsuki, Shoto and Hitoshi's teams got the highest score and will continue onto the final event making the selected 16 contestants cheer in joy
Well, most of them anyway...
With the mess created in the cavalry battle... everyone will be taking a break from the excitement and freshen up for the moment as the arena will be cleaned up and prepared for the event of this year in UA
The students walked out and made some conversation
"I can't believe that you're so fast Iida...!" Ochaco looked at her friend "if you were in our team, we'd have kept the 10 million safe!"
"I'm sorry for not helping" the class rep of 1-A waved his arm "but like everyone, I want to reach the top as well"
That only got the gravity girl huff at him
"That was frustrating" Tsuyu was slightly mad "our team has good protection and yet our points were stolen!"
Minoru simply stared off as he was still swallowing the fact he lost... and was carried off by Mezo
"But the bigger surprise was Midoriya summoning a new spirit" Toru hummed "I never knew his quirk can make the souls carry quirks"
"I think it's based on their lives" Momo suggested "their achievements back then could have created their quirks"
"That is something" Mina nodded "let's just hope that Midoriya doesn't get abrasive"
"Did you have to put that in our heads?" Denki shivered "now I'm worried the final event would involve fighting...!"
"Oh don't think you have to fight him" Kyoka crossed her arms "for all we know... it will be random selection at best"
"And that's what worries me..." the electric boy stated flatly
Speaking of Izuku... he was hugged tightly by Mei, in the hallway, as she was glad to have another chance to show off her babies
"Oh thank you so much Midoriya!" she smiled "I get to display more of my babies in the cavalry battle...!"
"Glad to help" he smiled "now shouldn't you be running off to make more babies now?"
"You're right!" she let go of her friend "but before I go, I want to give you something!"
She leaned forward and gave him... a kiss on the cheek!
"I'll bring my new baby to you after I get my ideas in order Midoriya!"
Izuku blinked at Mei's action and rubbed his face slowly
"I don't know whether to be lucky or not that she just did that" he mumbled
"I'd consider both"
Izuku turned to see Shouto with crossed arms
"Oh you saw that" he looked away in embarrassment "sorry if I made it awkward for you..."
"Not at all" the dual quirk student shook his head "It actually helped me a bit to talk to you"
"Talk to me?" he blinked "about what...?"
"Let me tell you something about my... father" he said through clenched teeth "Endeavor"

Okay that's another chapter down with Izuku now having another eyecon in his arsenal and I ended with a cliffhanger again. The next one will now be the 1-on-1 matches and I plan on changes in there... I just hope you'll like it
