Internships...that's what the students of UA from hero course are doing. After the Sports Festival most of the students were in the train station talking to each other before their departure time

"This is it" Mashirao looked around

"Going to train under pros..." Hanta gulped

"I'm so excited!" Eijiro smiled "can't wait to meet my superior!"

"Me too!" Mina jumped in glee "beimg woth the heroes in action...!"

While they were busy thinking under the pros, Ochaco was beside Izuku looking to their their friend Tenya as he was supposed to do his ususal banter of being in ordere before the departure

"Deku..." the gravity girl whispered "what happened to Iida?"

"I don't know" he whispered back "but it must be something important if he isn't doing his work as our class leader"

Tenya kept his composure but is internally thinking about his brother

'Tensei...' the runner balled up his hands tightly

The trains were starting to arrive and the students went their designated rails leaving Izuku and Ochaco to prepare since it was in a different time slot

"So Deku" she spoke "you're uncle, what kind of hero is he...?"

"What brought this up?" he asked

"Well..." the gravity girl poked her fingers "after seeing you fight against Monoma and your declaration about heroes back in the Sports Festival, it made me realize that it's from All Might's belief" before looking at him seriously "but Necrom is the only hero that openly fights the pros if he sees something wrong"

The soul student blinked at her words before chuckling at deduction "you just remembered his work now?"

She nodded feeling a little embarrassed that the incidents with the controversial hero against other pros was recently remembered

So Izuku pulled out his phone and played another recording of the controversial hero

"If heroes are supposed to be good...why does the public care more on the fights instead of staying safe?"

"And he kept that statement...?" Ochaco blinked "even before facing Endeavor?"

"Yep" Izuku nodded "in his words: how can I be a hero if I keep following the rules?"

The gravity girl felt awed right now... when she heard about Necrom, people said that he doesn't stand out much like the other heroes. But after hearing from Izuku, she now sees why he's the infamous hero...

Necrom isn't ideal like All Might, or lazy like Eraserhead... he's someone that wants to assure people that it's okay to do small things because those are part of his work

And hearing said hero's words through her friend... it made the goal in her hero career less selfish, because she's helping her family not herself!

The two sat quietly contemplating their interaction...Ochaco felt relief while Izuku felt glad. The former now has a new perspective on Necrom and the latter felt more connected to his first friend

"Ochaco" the soul student grabbed her hand surprising her "we may be separate for a while, but I want you to know that I'm glad we met at the enrollment of UA" he smiled warmly "I didn't think that I would feel so lucky after meeting you that day"

The gravity girl blinked before her face was heating up slightly before she took her hand back

"M-me too!" she stuttered looking away hiding her face from him "l-looks like my train is here...!" she stood up quickly "I'll see you back at the academy!"

Izuku was now alone blinking at her actions, he shook his head chuckling a bit 'hopefully you get better after interning under Gunhead'

His train finally arrived and the boy was thinking about his internship with All Might's teacher

'Hmm...' he put his hands together 'All Might didn't tell who strengthened him as a hero' his eyes narrowed 'whoever it is, they must be real good on making the number one hero to shiver in fright'

Izuku walked to the address of All Might's teacher and saw that it was a slightly worn building within the district

'Must be the old-fashioned type...' he blinked at the place 'better see who lives inside'

The boy opened the door and due to the light coming from the door, he saw a small male body with red liquid from the chest and a long organ on the floor

'Oh no!' he jumped at seeing the body and was about to panic "wait, this is a crime scene now...I have to be sure that the body is what it is"

When Izuku was searching for the light switch in the room, he didn't realize that the body chuckled at hearing that

'Toshinori's successor is being smart' he thought 'let's see how well you work when I train you after finding out my scenario'

The lights were now on and the boy has a good look of the body

"Looks like a convincing scene" he hummed "a rope of sausage to picture an organ from the body and ketchup as fake blood"

"Not bad kid" the body spoke finally moving up "you've seen through my trick" but then looked at him confusingly "who are you...?"

Izuku blinked at the but considering that this was someone All Might recommended to study under

"I'm your new student" he answered 'I hope that I can keep up with your standards'

'Not the answer I wanted to hear, but he's still new to this. So he'll learn' the old man looked at the boy "I'm Sorahiko Torino, my hero name is Gran Torino"

'Gran Torino!?' the soul student blinked ins surprise 'the only hero that worked in UA before resigning when All Might graduated'

While Izuku was still in his surprise the old man took the boy's suitcase and checked the contents inside "good, not too flashy" and turned to the kid "want to see my quirk?"

Izuku blinked before barely dodging an attack on him by the old hero 'fast!' he dodged another seeing a blur bounce around the room before seeing the old hero creating a crater due to the speed

"You dodged both times kiddo" Gran Torino smirked "wear your costume, I want to see how you look and fight back" he called "I'm testing you now!"

The soul student smiled and donned his costume 'gotta rely on my own for now' he thought 'I don't think I can transform due to his speed'

'Definitely different from the standard public hero' the old hero hummed at the boy's look "get ready kiddo!"

Gran Torino used his quirk again to launch forward but Izuku raised his arms guarding his face and felt his arm struck hard 'the speed helps his attack gain friction, chopping the target's defense' and felt his back struck by a foot thankfully his training with Necrom helped his guard stay strong 'I can't let my guard down...even for a second!'

'Good defense' the old hero started jumping around the room again breaking some stuff in the process 'but you have to fight back or you'll lose!'

Gran Torino jumped forward again to finally strike Izuku but he saw an arm moving toward him, he moved slightly down dodging the attack and grab the boy's leg making him fall down with his face ending the test

"You lose kiddo" the old man stated "you may have trained to handle attacks, but haven't pushed through in countering"

"Sorry for disappointing you" Izuku groaned as he sat up "the situations I handle were one or other choices, not sudden changes"

'At least you know how to plan' he thought "considering this is your first time handling something like this, I'll give you small jobs" and walked to the door "you can start by cleaning up my home" and gave one last look to his intern "I'll get some snacks before I give you more chores to do for the time being"

"Right" the boy saluted before starting to pick up the debris and trash around him "I need to figure out how to be flexible" he hummed "I can try to twist my body more and counter him that way" but shook his head "but that will make me open for another attack and lose my balance"

While Izuku mumbled on how to improve himself, Gran Torino was still at the door and heard his mumbling habit and smiled a bit that the kid was figuring out what to do in the next test with him

'At least you're learning kiddo' he thought before finally moving to get his snacks 'when I test you again. I expect to see improvement'

Other students were having their internships normally

Uravity was with Gunhead as the latter was talking to her during the patrol

"As you can see Uravity" the pro spoke "we heroes must at least be aware of our surroundings if we want to keep the peace"

"Right!" the gravity girl nodded before thinking of a certain classmate 'Deku...' she balled her hands a bit 'I hope you can handle your weight in this'

Ingenium was with Manual as the latter waved to some people he passed "I know that you are the successor to the first Ingenium, but you have to understand that this type of work shouldn't be an excuse for your feelings"

"Yes" he nodded before thinking back to his older brother 'Tensei...'

Red Riot was with Real Steel working under Fourth Kind's hero agency

"Who'd thought we work under the same hero" the hard student blinked

"Yeah, weird..." the steel student returned

Creati was panting as she was on her hands and knees feeling tired from using her quirk continuously

'I didn't think this would be possible...!' she thought 'I thought this side effect has been fixed when I used it in my younger days!'

"Looks like she has a similar quirk to you" the big hero turned to his other intern "what do you think Suneater?"

Said person was looking at a wall "I think..." he shook a bit "she needs more training" and turned his head slightly at the still panting girl "if she's like me, then she has to follow the plan you told me about when I interned under you"

"Sounds like a plan" the hero nodded before helping the girl on her feet

Minoru was with Mt. Lady cleaning her room with said hero lounging on a couch reading a book and potato chips

"Good job kid" she said blandly "keep this up and you'll do fine..." her voice simply carried so much laziness it could be believed that she was off today from her hero duties right now

The little perv simply grumbled continuing to clean the room he's in

Katsuki was shaking in shock as he was seated with his spiky blonde hair in a fixed matter while his costume has jean fibers attached to him

"A hero shouldn't look bad to the public" Best Jeanist stated "so you must appear well to calm them"

Other interns with the pro were well groomed and calm thanks to being taught under him

The blonde explosive couldn't make a shout or even complain in his predicament only one thought kept repeating in his head and he wanted to deny that!

'Deku was right...! And I failed to listen!'

While the students were interning with the pro-heroes Toshinori was with his friend Naomasa

"Are you sure this is all you found Tsukaichi?" the scarecrow looked at his friend questioningly

"I did" the detective nodded before placing a picture on the table "this is what he looked like before the change" and sighed a bit "after being beaten that nomu simply waited on the next command and when we told him he is to be arrested, he simply complied with no argument" he then rubbed his eyes "and get this, he is carrying more than one quirk"

Toshinori's body went stiff at hearing that...he stood up and walked to the window 'it can't be...' he activated his quirk changing top his All Might appearance 'he's still alive...?!'

"Toshinori...?" Naomasa spoke getting his attention

The number one hero turned to his friend showing frustration in his face instead of the signature smile

"I believe that I have an idea how the nomus are created" he said grimly 'I hope young Midoriya can keep himself together during his education with my mentor...'

It was now night time and Deku Ghost was finished with his duty for the day

"That's the last job" he wiped some sweat off his head "now for some personal training" he looked at the widow gaps from the alley 'I wonder if One For All helps me with the muscles in my body...?'

For a few minutes the boy jumped from one window to the next using One For All and he reached about five floors up before falling to the ground but thankfully the trash there softened his fall

"Okay..." he grunted "at least it was a development" and walked back to Gran Torino's home "better get back and help my teacher set his snack" he chuckled "I'm surprised that he can still eat Taiyaki bread in his age"

A new day has passed and Izuku was in the living room heating up Taiyaki bread for his mentor

"Hey Gran Torino" the soul student turned to his mentor "what was it like training All Might?"

The old hero remembered how strict he is and even remembered someone else's words about him

'Listen to to this' a female voice laughed 'I found this kid and he's a bit crazy... saying that the world needs a pillar to lean on and feel safe' her laughter came again 'I might think he may be a good hero, even though he's quirkless'

'Toshinori sure surprised you huh?' he chuckled a bit "alright kid, but after I finish this. You will be tested again...!"

"I will not argue" Izuku agreed with a smile "I came to you to be a strong hero!"

Gran Torino blinked and saw his former student before him

'Heroes will keep the world safe!' All Might's voice came to his head 'I will be the pillar for the community to believe in...!'

The old hero shook his head and saw the boy again 'you have chosen a surprising successor Toshinori' he grinned "listen up! I'm just going to tell you once...!"

Ochaco was with Gunhead as she trained her body

"Uravity!" the pro called to her "don't lose focus and keep training...!"

"Yes sir!" she focused on repeating her movements with more vigor

Katsuki was patrolling with Beast Jeanist with the latter ahead while the former was still coping on his situation

'I can't fucking believe this is happening...!' the blonde explosive thought 'I look ridiculous!'

Sadly he was right thinking that as children noticed him and was saying how different he looked.

He and his mentor made quick stop in a park which gave him time to freshen up and get his hair back to it's natural spikiness which got same kids who saw him to run away in terror

"Much better" he grinned madly "this look is my style"

"Not better" Beast Jeanist suddenly was behind Katsuki, holding a comb, making him stiff "you clearly need to understand on looking approachable for the public"

Red Riot and Real Steel bowed slightly showing shame to their mentor Fourth Kind

"You two should show more restraint!" he raised his two of his arms and struck their heads "gah! Can't you two accept punishment without using your quirks...!?" the pro tended his pained hands

'I'm not a man yet...' the hard student thought sadly

'This will be a hard...' the steel student followed

Momo panted again but she was on her feet and leaned on a wall to stay standing after the training she did today

"At least you are improving" Fatgum nodded proudly "take a break Creati, you just finished with passing grade"

"Yes..." she slowly walked to a bench and sat down "can I have some water?"

"I'll g-get it..." Suneater called walking out of the room since his shyness is still strong despite having friends of his own

Izuku hummed from the rough training All Might went through and blinked when he felt tapping on his head

"Now that I gave you the story" Gran Torino coughed "we're going to have another test" before humming "but I'd like a snack first because my story made me hungry" he then looked at the boy "so use this time to make a quick plan before we start!"

"Right!" Izuku went to the microwave to heat up the taiyaki bread one at a time

'So All Might had you to strengthen his body to use the quirk' he thought 'I still have it in all or nothing switch, I have to figure out how to lessen the recoil of it...!' when the microwave finished heating it's last bread he finally realized something 'It's like softening this bread, you can only heat one at a time to make it properly delicious!' he delivered the plate to Gran Torino 'I have to focus One For All on my body instead...!'

The old hero was enjoying his snack and eyed his new student's focus 'looks like the kid has realized something' he thought 'let's see if I need to put more effort in you boy'

After the snacks are gone, the old hero stood up to his feet and presented a stopwatch "okay kid, in this test you have to beat me in three minutes"

"Huh?" the soul student blinked at the condition

"Remember that heroes need to end the fight fast so damage stay minimal" Gran Torino reminded "you have to stay focused under pressure to subdue your target and save lives!"

Izuku was suddenly struck on his back making him fall to the floor 'the test has started...!' he went under the sofa narrowly dodging another attack by the old hero 'I only have a small chance to get him' he saw a blur jumping around the room 'if I don't win, I'll only be a chore boy for the rest of my life...!'

The soul student focused One For All on his body with red lines forming on his skin with green lightning cackling from his body 'I'll call this... Full Cowling!'

He stood up using the sofa as a shield to block an attack form his mentor and kicked it making the old hero jump away and use the wall as his landing spot before jumping forward to attack again

'I want to be a hero and save people!' the boy reached for a counter 'someone to assure people that it will be okay to go out and and live...!'

The student nearly connected his attack only to miss and got kicked away to wall and luckily no cracks were formed meaning he lost some oxygen from the hit

"Darn it..." Izuku groaned as he slid down "I'm still the chore boy"

"Don't kick yourself kiddo" Gran Torino spoke "you've surprised me with that stunt earlier, so we'll go on patrol"

"You mean it!?" the soul student jumped to his feet feeling surprise and excitement

"Yep" the old hero nodded "get yourself ready and we'll start walking"

"Yes sir!" Izuku ran to get his costume and change

Gran Torino grinned touching his left cheek feeling the scratch he received before kicking the boy away

'You have potential kid' he thought 'only day two in my home and you were able to strike back' a grin formed on his face 'you better keep it up kid, this world will keep challenging you'

Author's Notes:

The Stain arc has started... right now Izuku and the students of 1-A have journeyed to learn under pros and test themselves with who they work under...

Sorry that this isn't much but it is intern work...students learning under pros is pretty basic with needing permission to help (which in itself is problematic due to the government controls the hero system making the group corrupt on who is meant to be a hero)

Izuku has finally achieved Full Cowling. Yes he has the Boost eyecon back in the Sports Festival but that only appears for emergencies (Shouto counted since he was traumatized by Endeavour's relentless training to be a hero to surpass All Might)

All Might stated back in the training months that One For All stockpiles power when a holder is passed onto the next...so Full Cowling helps him keep his body in shape even when using the Boost eyecon (meaning Full Cowling will be common if he can't transform in a fight)
